April 2007 - The one where we despair about coughs and colds; sickness bugs; cheeky behaviour and the amount of tinsel and fairy lights ALREADY in the shops!!

Evening

Bramshott, so sorry to hear about your dh's colleagues baby

Dooby, hope you are ok lovely. xx

SB, don't know how you do it! Hope you are ok.

Runny, a huge hug to you. I too think you need to talk to dh and let him know what's what. It is not fair on you at all. xx

Elkie, hope you are doing ok back at work.

SPB, how is T's tummy now?

Ange, lovely to see you!!!!

Dippy, sounds like you have had a good day

Apologies to those I have missed.

All ok here. Dh has been away since Tuesday in Chile, so it has been the 3 girls. I am kackered. K is still waking at night, and she now has a bloody cough which whilst doesn't bother her, keeps me awake. I feel dizzy with tiredeness. Dh due back Sunday lunch time.

We are not potty training as K is not ready at all. They sit her on the potty at nursery, and she sits on it before bath and squeezes out a fart! But, nothing else produced. Seems odd to me, as B was dry during the day when she was 25 months and it took just a week.

StealthPolarBear · 21/11/2009 09:21

hi SOl
can i ask more potty training questions

I assume it's OK to concentrate on days & assume he'll be in a nappy overnight for a little while longer??

T seems to tell me he needs the potty after he's weed - his pull ups are wet - any magic formula for this?#

(don't read if eating) any way to stop him putting his hand up his bum

runnyhabbit · 21/11/2009 15:50

SPB - pmsl at T putting his hand up his bum

Thank you ladies for all your advice (mwah to all of you)

Knew that I needed to talk to dh, but needed to get it straight so it wouldn't turn into a argument, iyswim. Anyway, I've been civil and polite, just getting on with things. So last night, we came in from football practice and he asked me what I wanted to do on the weekend. I said what I want to do, and what'll actually happen are 2 things. Then he told me he wasn't going fishing, he will see to the boys in the night, and the morning, so I can catch up on some much needed rest He also said that he was trying to build bridges with me, but

So it turns out I don't actually need to shout be heard. Although I do remember saying to dh once that the day I stop getting shouty/angry/upset is the day he should start worrying, because it will mean I don't care. Wonder if he remembers that too

CaptainDippy · 21/11/2009 18:24

This good RH - hope you enjoy

oooggs · 21/11/2009 19:22

yes runny I am with you there, when I go quiet (not very often) is when he needs to worry & hurriedly do something!!!!!!!!!

Glad he has caught up with you and now you can catch up on rest

Katy - forget night times for the moment, not sure on the bum thing though and I am not the the mum to be asking about potty training (its my worst nightmare)

dippy - hows things in the dippy household?

Someone needs to have another baby! - May 2007 started sooner and are still having more. The latest arrived this weekend - a home birth, though sadly she's had to go into hospital to be treated for Strep B, so I'm waiting nervously to hear more news of Charleymouse and Harriet.

SOL, nice to see you.

Runny, that's great news re your dh, has he been lurking on mumsnet and reading your posts? However it's happened, I'm so pleased that he's seen sense. Hope you got that much needed rest over the weekend.

CaptainDippy · 23/11/2009 08:21

Hope charleymouse and Harriet are ok - keep us posted Elkie!!

Yeah, but I bet May 2007's twin mummy didn't have the 1st of the next lot of baby. We've still got Super Oooggs on our team!!!

Right, best press on through the rain to school .... sigh .....

CM is ill so can't have P - I have work to doooooooo - aaaaargh!!!!!

what are you going to do dippy? does she still sleep?

ScarletBandit · 23/11/2009 10:06

Morning ladies

I really need to go to the supermarket this morning but can't be bothered! It is just too wet and windy outside which really makes me want to stay tucked up in my warm and cosy house.

Runny, really glad that you sorted things with dh. Bloody men!

Elkie, thinking of your friend in hospital. Ds had strep B at birth and was really quite poorly for a time, made a full recovery though

SOL, hope you are ok and have caught up on a bit of sleep

Doobydoo · 23/11/2009 18:06

Runny am so pleased
Hope you ok Dippy?

Bramshott · 24/11/2009 09:19

Hi guys!

In answer to your potty questions SPB - yes, I'd concentrate on days for now. N was still wearing a pull-up at night until she was more than 4.

Telling you he's wee'd after he's done it is a good sign really - he knows that it happens, and that when it does he needs to tell you. The next step is telling you before it's going to happen, and when he's done that even just a couple of times (which is the stage that O got to), then maybe it's time to give it a try.

Not sure there's any way of stopping the fiddling / poking though

We are still averaging about 1 accident a day, but more incidences of her telling me she needs to go (or telling N !) so I think we're making progress. Could be faster though - I am an impatient 2nd time mum!

oooggs · 24/11/2009 13:14

wishing charleymouse lots of hugs - she is a fellow twin mum whose twins (due in May 07) were born in April 07 at 31 weeks baby Benjamin only survived 9 hours and George is doing well very. Huge welcome to their little sister Harriet

I am just mad dippy

katy - ds1 is 6 in a few weeks and isn't dry at night

Erin still can't master poos where they are supposed to go [yuk]

CaptainDippy · 24/11/2009 15:05

Sexonlegs · 24/11/2009 21:38

Hello

Dooby, good luck with the training. Hope you are feeling ok. xx

SPB, pmsl at T bless him.

Dippy, did you manage to get any work done?

Runny, really pleased things are sorted with dh.

SB, did you get your supermarket shop done??!!

All ok here. Dh got back on Sunday, but is away again tomorrow and Thursday night grrrrr. K is sleeping a bit better thankfully so not quite as knackered, although yet again feel under the weather. I feel I should go the docs, but I just feel they will laugh me out of the surgery.

Hope all is well with everyone. xx

StealthPolarBear · 25/11/2009 10:52

O Lord, I cannnot cope with this weather - every time I think "oh it's looking bright and breezy, I'll pop the washing on the line", the next time I turn around it's pouring with rain and the washing is getting soaked!

Swimming run with N's school this morning although I impressed her teacher with my quick thinking when one girl had kept her knickers on under her costume for the whole lesson, and I dried them afterwards with a hairdryer !
