Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
SazZaVoom · 02/11/2009 19:44
Sad
dizzydixies · 02/11/2009 19:46

Sazz was my own fault, should have sold it to that lady in Germany but I just couldn't be arsed with the courier nonsense

CaptainCaveman · 02/11/2009 19:48

Wotcha.

cyteen how's Joe after his jabs? Oliver had his 12 month booster today , at a mere 15 months

Hello to everyone else

SazZaVoom · 02/11/2009 19:49

Did you say you would courier in the UK in our advert or collection only? IMVHO you get LOADS more interest if you will courier and it's not too expensive

dizzydixies · 02/11/2009 20:08

I listed it as contact me for confirmation of courier costs - there was loads of interest so I'll just relist it - its just a pain in the arse as it would have been nice to have it done before we went

ate too much toast too quickly - one slice/two halves wolfed down and now my stomach is objecting

pertelote · 02/11/2009 20:13

Oh dear poor Joe! Is he ok Cyteen? And poor little nose, Sazzles! Poor poppets. Feel quite weepy at the thought of them all being in the wars, what a soppy thing I am this week .

VG I love your postnatal shopping list. Truly baffling! DH reckons he can take over at 7 on Thurs so I will set out from central Islington then - and if we are meeting in central Islington I will be with you shortly afterwards

Dizzy hope the V has passed...? What a grim day for you.

Wini sorry things are still tough. Good that DP agrees to try a change. Did you/do you still plan to get him to stay somewhere for a night or two?

No1 hope you are having a fabulous night!

TS sympathy from this quarter too on feeling unappreciated. Hope ALL your family is behaving more acceptably today...

Hullo everyone else.

MiamlaMwahHahahahahaaaaaaa · 02/11/2009 20:56

evening all
i'm feeling pretty rough and need some sympathy
stomach ache, head ache, feel cold so i'm tucked up with a hot water bottle and my laptop. Feel too sick to eat but my stomach's grumbling for food

MiamlaMwahHahahahahaaaaaaa · 02/11/2009 20:57

where is everybody?

oops, still got my halloween mask on, hey ho, i'll take it off tomorrow

cyteen · 02/11/2009 21:29

Perhaps you have got the thread bug Miamla, lots of sickness and nausea going around here at present (and only oops and lwfh with preggily genuine reason for it...that we know of).

Thanks for all the kinds words for J, he seems okay at present - a bit unsettled in his sleep which is to be expected, but he bolted his tea earlier with good cheer so fingers crossed. I have lashings of arnica on standby for the bruise that is sure to come up on his face, He has inherited his mother's lithe grace

CC have a Midlands high five for slackness, this was J's 12 month booster too although not my fault it was late, stupid central records sent the appt to our old house

dizzydixies · 02/11/2009 21:35

miamla - huge sympathies from me - am about to finish obsessing watching my ebay lots then head off to bed - fingers crossed for a decent night as DD2 already been complaining this evening and DH now away to work

poppysocks · 02/11/2009 22:42

Super fast dash on to say to dizzy that I've just found my phone (under a pile of crap) and there's a message I tried to send to you earlier unsent. Just to say that I hope you're feeling better now and will be thinking of you with a face like this on Thurs.

Skimmed the thread, but sorry you're feeling rough too miamla, about the biting incident sazzles and the bathroom knock-about for poor Mastercyteen. And LOLOL at VG's £9 ham. Can you remember whether it was any good??

Right, off to try the book again. No luck last night as DH already snoring by the time I got there and didn't have the heart to switch the light back on.

TwilightSurfer · 02/11/2009 23:36

SnotRocket (totally loving that name btw) I think it?s totally advanced that DS can take the pillows off the sofa and say ?night-night?. Very cute too.

Oops I?m loving your dreams.

VG (((hugs))) my balancing is out of necessity as DH & I both love to spend. I tried to do so within a boundary and he?well he admits he?s clueless to it all and relies completely on me to keep us in the black. It?s difficult sometimes but I manage.

Did I mention he attempted to help me yesterday by washing HIS clothes and putting them away.?hmm] Yes that IS helping BUT?[insert whatever you like here]. I firmly believe male DNA is missing some genetic code which allows them to juggle home responsibilities (laundry, dinner, toilet scrubbing, kids schedules, etc, etc, etc). Mind you it?s probably in the lacking X but that just leads me to wonder what?s so great about the Y if it seems to limit their overall abilities.

For the record: I do love my DH.

Dizzy poor thing! However, totally laughing at your internet venture to raise capital for you NY trip.

Just for you Dizzy: TS Financial Tip #1: My Household Expense Account (aka my checkbook) is broken down in two week intervals based on DH?s paycheck direct deposit. MANDITORY EXPENSES like a credit card bill or an electric bill (and so on) have been scheduled in advance so I know which fall during which pay periods. All those are subtracted from DH?s pay check amount 1st. That leaves me with MONEY TO LIVE ON (for food, gas, silly things). Whatever I have on the last day before the next paycheck is swiftly moved into my ?Project Fund Account? (aka my interest bearing checking account). This means I always begin each pay period with a ZERO balance in my checkbook (before DH?s check is deposited) and hopefully end with a POSITIVE amount. Sometimes I have to move money into my Household account to cover unexpecteds (and that?s okay). The key is staying IN and not going OVER the amount listed as MONEY TO LIVE ON. Having it all broken down in 2 week periods makes it less stressful since it?s a smaller amount to deal with. I do look over the coming weeks to make sure the ?Money to Live On? will cover what we would normally spend on food/gas/etc. If it looks like that?s going to be a problem, I might move a bill around or pay it early. That?s it in nutshell. I?ve doing it this way for 15 years.

VG just laughing at your post-birth shopping list. Sounds like me. LOL!

Lucky good job making THE LIST.

Cyteen sounds like you need to have a good rest tonight. Hope the jabs don?t cause problems for ds and he sleeps like an old drunk (we all know there?s no sleep for a baby so avoiding that statement at all cost).

Sazzles (((hugs))) for dd2. How frightening for her. I hope she doesn?t harbor anger for the attacker. I?m sure he knew not what he was doing.

Ann sorry things are dull. Best that then wild and out of control.

Steaky may I have a Sazz-on-a-Stick please.

ALBS

No1 I am totally of your evening. My Saturday night won?t rival Fleetwood Mac BUT I have lined up a babysitter and DH & I are to be going to see The Edgar Winter Group and Kansas. Just hearing a live band is more than exciting.

Okay with Cyteen?s?.how many face plants have we had on this this thread recently. Our children must look abused. ((hug))

Dizzy may I suggest some probiotics for post-tummy recovery.

Captain I hope DS2 does well tonight after boosters today.

Poppy and Pertelote

Miamla I think Cyteen may be right?you have the THREAD BUG. We seriously need to clean our keys a little better!!!

As for the Twilight House: Today has been filled with fussing. I think Reese is needing more food and I?m not getting the message. She eats ALL THE TIME but refuses MILK completely and doesn?t care for most meats. GEEZ! DD1 is trying to get on my last nerve. She even told me today she wanted a new mommy. I said, SOUNDS GOOD TO ME! GO FOR IT!! She wasn?t expecting that answer. DH came home early, said dinner was great (I?d left him a plate on the stove), forgot his dry cleaning, and forgot to put out the bin this morning for the truck to pick up. Basically it?s been a normal day.

WOW! Now that?s a post!!

RedLentil · 03/11/2009 00:01
Snotrocket · 03/11/2009 01:33

Hi Red!

TS don't think I can or will match your post.

No1 hope you enjoyed the concert - who were you seeing again?

Get well wishes to everyone feeling sickly - maybe time to start a new thread so we can be rid of the bugs! I quite liked the fact that I got post 888 yesterday thinking of DS birthday.

Sazz hope DD2 ok I have a biter so feeling a bit when I hear such stories...

Cyteen hope that DS bruises heal super quickly. DS has his MMR booked for next week.

On the speaking front Mum seems to think that DS is some kind of genius as she hears him say about 5 new words every day (this is all in the 4 hours that I've been at work in the morning as well)! DH and I are reserving judgement .

A very old and dear friend of mine had a little girl yesterday morning - Isla Lily after many health problems on both sides and their first attempt at IVF. So pleased for them just a shame I won't get to meet her till next year.

dizzydixies · 03/11/2009 07:21

ts probiotic on the list for shopping today not that I'm feeling more human and thank you for financial tips - shall have a better look later when my eyes can focus

snot what lovely news for your friend and lovely names too

No1 hope you had a great night can't wait to hear all about it

not a great night here again so am thinking DD2 shall benefit from a trip to Dr - am up printing ebay stuff to go to post office/ have done visa forms online/ preparing stuff for meeting tonight (here of course ) that I don't have time to do fully

and all because D has been up since 6am

right ladies am off to do some more admin stuff before DD1`and DD2 get up and start making unreasonable demands - like being fed for example

dizzydixies · 03/11/2009 07:22

too late!!!!!!! I think they can hear thoughts you know!!

oopsandbabycoconut · 03/11/2009 08:11

Morning

Dizzy - Please take it easy todays and let yourself recover, you don't want to be ill for NY.

DD slept 7-6 (so why do I feel wrecked?)but then fussed and faffed until I kicked her and DH out at 7.10, they came back in for cuddles at 7.13 apparently if was too cold and rainy to be downstairs I don't recall rain falling in our sitting room and leas time I looked we also had heating so we all ended up getting out of bed. DD now lying on the sittingroom floor with a muzzy in her mouth watching Timmy Time.

Sazz - missed DD2's nose being bitten - poor girl.

Cyteen - hope DS is okay this AM after his jabs.

Snot - what great news about your friend.

TS - your message was so long I got lost in it, so just Hi

No1 - hope you had a good evening and the LOs were suitably mischievious for DH

Miamla - feel better soon.

Cold wet and raining here so we might not do too much today.

TwilightSurfer · 03/11/2009 10:29

morning

cyteen · 03/11/2009 10:40

Greetings all, bit of a rubbish night's sleep all round but only in an undramatic way - lots of stirring and muttering from DS, cat parked itself in my half of the bed and then was noisily sick on the floor at 5.30am, blah blah blah. DS is quite snotty this morning and has been whingey moany, but otherwise ok.

TS you are definitely FFG with all your money management skillz. Ours are fairly slapdash but we are in the fortunate position of having no debt at the moment so we just try and keep it that way.

Snot congratulations to your friend, a new longed-for LO, wonderful I got a bit broody yesterday at the play session, chatting to some mums of tiny babies. I must be mad

Tell me girls, how do your August 08 babies amuse themselves at this age? DS spends all his time toddling about the house and falling on his bum, tipping out the cat biscuits, getting things out of the bin, chasing the kitties, grabbing for anything dangerous etc. He goes through on/off phases of wanting to play with toys, loves looking at books but not all the time. I just feel a bit bad because there's only so much chasing him round the house making monster noises that I can do in a day, and I know sometimes he is bored and I don't know what to do with him. It doesn't help that he seems to hate the outdoors - whenever we go to the park he just sits on the grass and cries.

So do you just let them get on with it or do you actively make the fun?

dizzydixies · 03/11/2009 11:43

cyteen D seems to amuse herself torturing her siblings or the dog - am all for free play here with a touch of refereeing intervention where needs be

fav hobbies include

emptying kitchen cupboards
emptying wipe packets and wiping everything )(even at 15months she realises her mother is a slattern)
walking around with things rounds her neck [meep]
turning off the dvd/sky box/tv - delete where appropriate when her sisters are watching it
throwing things on the floor and mashing them in with her feet
climbing up and down the stairs
mooching food from the dog or her sisters
shouting
trying to put clothes on that don't belong to her
using crayons/pens and pencils - aqua draw is a wonderful thing
dialing people on the phone and shouting hiya at them

there, that about covers it!!!

dizzydixies · 03/11/2009 11:50

oops would love to rest prior to NY but not going to happen had a HELLISH night with DD2 and up at 6am with D - she is now at CM and I've kept DD2 with me. So far this morning have sorted out all kids, showered (had to beg and plead DH to stay up so I could) taken DD1 to school, D to CM and done invoice and paid CM, dropped in posters advertising an event to all shops etc in village/ dropped in cakes to cafe (hope don't poison anyone) taken DD2 to Dr - she has very nasty viral infection in mouth/throat AND horrid coldsore at side of mouth - nothing but calpol and neurofen and rest , gone to PO with ebay stuff for weighing and pricing, done some work for meeting tonight, organised weirdy cleaner to come and help me tomorrow (am desperate), fought with chemist over medicine for DD2, booked the girls hair appts for next week as they look like a couple of scarecrows and bought DD2 a cake - the Dr says she needs something to help build up her strength and was trying to get me to give her flat coke/lemonade - tis not a route I wish to start with DD2 who has unfortunately developed my sweet tooth - all she's been asking for is her Beauty and the Beast video which I've left at my aunt's house so I managed to pick her up one for 25p in the chairty shop I gave them £1 I was so grateful!!!!

oh and I forgot to mention I put the bins out this morning for collection today - am put Dylan's lunch in its ASDA bag into it so have been bin diving this morning too

am now home and have until 3pm to get the downstairs of the house sorted before waking up DH (who will be grumpy) and taking DD1 to rainbows and getting DD2 and Dylan down before this meeting which I haven't had time to prepare for

ah well, NY on thurs is promising weather wise

TwilightSurfer · 03/11/2009 12:38

Dizzy I am so part of your world this week.

oopsandbabycoconut · 03/11/2009 12:54

Cyteen

DD likes to pootle about generally, she gets toys and books out, puts things in and out of bags collects shoes/muzzy/blankets/cushions and makes little nests to sit and yatter in. she has a little telly everyday. She has her wooden farm which she will happily play with for 10mins hours. She spent 10 mins this morning putting duplo blocks in her shape sorter. She has taken to asking for 'nats' (snacks) and then finding a pillow to sit on and sharing with the cat/teddy/shoes.

Although today she is very out of sorts fom teeth I think and is just lying in her nest staring at MTV so I might put something on for her more interesting. When I turned the telly off earlier she just lay on the cat staring at the trees blowing in the wind.

Dizzy - I am goin to have a nap you have exhausted me!

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 03/11/2009 13:02

dizzy what a day.
I now feel very lazy indeed. All I have done is preschool run and horses.

Just done dcs lunch and am soon going to try getting them down for a sleep.

ts you have great managment skills.
I am afraid to say if I was in charge of the finances I may get in a mess.
suits dh being frm banking background.
cyteen i Hope ds is ok, poor thing

I am need of some arnica too. Have a bruise on the side of my leg the size of a grapefruit. I banged it on a seat at the FLEETWOOD MAC concert last night, can't remember if I mention I was going.

It was amazing, never thought I would feel like that, I cried when they did one of my favourite songs.
I was very overwhelmed.
I had to really control myself as I had a huge lump in my throat and very nearly started sobbing, I bet them sitting next to me must have thought I had lost the plot.

It didn't help my mum kept looking at me saying 'ah' 'bless you' and patting my knee.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 03/11/2009 13:07

snot that is a lovely name, shame you won't get to see her till next year though.

oops Hi, hope you are feeling ok.

cyteen I tend to let ds just get on with things, he too will sit looking at books for ages.
Goes through phases with toys.
I tend to play with them individualy, so if dd at school or in bed then I will sit and play with ds or read books.
Same with dd when ds is asleep.

I do have days where I constantly hover and repeat..
'get out of the fire place' 'come out of the fridge' etc.....
I am going to get him down for a nap now and do some baking with dd.

Just wondered out of curiosity being nosey what you all were planning on getting little ones for xmas?
