As we will still be on this when the first birthdays roll round.

I'll try and find the list to remind us all.

right, off to watch telly; will catch up properly tomorrow.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
PinkyMinxyPie · 08/12/2009 22:40

LOl Hana good policy!

Daisy yes it was quite alarming. It's very sad, notonly because the chap who drilled through the gas main was burned but also because at least six of the apartments that were already owned or occupied and the entrance have been destroyed- and it is a listed building.

Yay for BUmble's athelticism!
Mimi not walking independently yet, but loving the brick trolley.

AFingerofFudge · 08/12/2009 22:42

oops, realize I have boobed a bit by talking about SS . Am saying no more too.

We have this tradition in our house, which was my childhood tradition too, of saying goodbye to our "number" when it's the eve of your birthday, and saying "hello 10" or whatever number age you now are the morning of your birthday. So this evening, DS1 &2 said "goodbye 0" when they said goodnight to M, and in the morning they are both going to say "hello 1" on M's behalf. Anyway, I nearly bawled when they said "goodbye 0". It just seems such a shock for the year to be over already.
On a more cheerful note, his prezzies are wrapped, and DH has got the day off tomorrow, so we're off to a fab soft play centre that will thankfully be quiet first thing in the morning.

Off to look at photos of M when he was born....

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 08/12/2009 23:22

I won't be on till evening tomorrow, so Happy Birthday for M for tomorrow fudge . Is he the last of our babies to celebrate his birthday?

I have been getting all nostalgic about bumble as well. It only seems a nanosecond sonce he was a baby, and now he is a walking, pointing, trying to do talking toddler with a (very ) determined wee personality developing. Where did the last year go.

I was having a clear out today and found DS1's "My first Christmas" bib Would I be unreasonable to let bumble wear it on Christmas Day, on the grounds that as he was only a teeny tiny baby last year, this will be his first "proper" Christmas?

chocolategal · 09/12/2009 07:23

Happy Birthday to fudge's M
hope you all have a lovely day

LadyBuzz · 09/12/2009 07:51

Happy Bithday M hope you have great day.

I'm not opening my SS until christmas day either - I get little enough to open so it will be nice to wait.

Daisy I said the same to DH yesterday about a stocking J got last yeat with 1st christmas on. Like you say its their first proper christmas! I say go for it

pinky that sounds scary, its lucky there were not more people hurt.

Ceebee74 · 09/12/2009 09:25

Fudge Happy Birthday to M - hope he has a lovely lovely day

Daisy Hamster is already using all the leftover Christmas bibs/vests that we bought for DS1 - I guess it is the SNC syndrome where I don't really care what he is wearing

Pinky wow, I heard about that on the radio yesterday. for the bloke - hope he is ok.

Well this morning, DS1 decided to ride on Hamster's back whilst he was crawling into the kitchen - strange thing was that Hamster thought it was quite funny and didn't seem to mind a 2+ stone child on his back

Rosa · 09/12/2009 13:25

Ladybuzz if I haven't been matched with anyone for SS you can send me your address and I will send you mine it might be late though. I have e mailed Mr Yorky ... FOF re SS is there something I have missed ?
Daisy thanks for the food intake thing it is very interesting think minirosa is doing ok but not sure aboiut dd1 mind you I am giving her vitamins .
Xmas think I am almost there now thanks to the web just have a few rellies to go now.
Ellielou have a lovely Xmas meal with dh . I used to be away regularly for Christmas and I always had a special meal a few weeks before it sort of made up for it .
Re first Xmas stuff yes I am using it as the bibs were far too big last year.
Oh what teething granules or things do you use so I can stock up when I am in the Uk as this gel is crap and doesn't work she has 3 coming and really suffering day and night ?
Thanks

Rosa · 09/12/2009 13:27

Opps forgot to wish mini fudge a Happy Birthday .... that is a lovely tradition you have.

PinkyMinxyPie · 09/12/2009 21:32

Hello 1 mini Fudge! Happy birthday little one.

Rosa I use nelsons teething powders as a general rule and if they are bad I give them a bit of calpol or baby neurofen.

Ceebee lol at riding on the Hamster. Mine are always trying to involve Immy in rough and tumble and I have to say she does quite like it. My friends 2.5 year old is a laso really bossy with her but Mimi seems to lap that up too. It's as though she is amused by their nuances but clearly feels no threat. I suppose she knows that if she indicates she doesn't like it them mummy will swwop in so it's no biggie.
We have put up our fabby cheapo Ikea tree that we bought last year. It looks great. I have moved the decorations around the tree instead of the 'All In One Corner, if not On One Branch' style of tree decotating that the DC go for, but fully expect everything to be moved again tomorrow. DS even insisted on putting tinsle around the telly. Classy

PinkyMinxyPie · 09/12/2009 21:34

also really bossy- not some kind of wild west reference

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 09/12/2009 21:57

Nelsons here as well, or boots equivalent which are a bit cheaper. first line of defence, then dentinox, then calpol.

lol at the thought of mimi being lasooed by bossy children . DD sits on bumble's tummy and uses his arms as oars as she sings "Row your Boat". He loves it . He also sees someone lying on the floor as a signal to pounce on them; it gets a bit embarrasing when singing Dingle Dangle Scarecrow at baby groups as he launches himself at all the "sleeping" children

He was up half the night with a temp again and has been off colour all day. His eye teeth are coming in so I think it may be that. If I ask "Where's sore?" he pulls on both ears but I know teeth can cause ear issues. The doc will think me utterly neurotic if I take him back for the third time in three weeks.

twinklingfairy · 09/12/2009 22:03

That is my SS ready to go.
Well, I will have to wrap it first. Oh, I will have to get wrapping paper first.
methinks I am completely unorganised!
I have bits and bobs for my two but very little really.
Money is still not good but DH is getting a bonus soon. They said they would give it mid month, now 20th Dec!
bugger!
No adults in my life are getting pressies!
Well, my dad is (bought ages ago) and so will DHs dad cos he spotted a pressie we can get the day before, in a shop near them.
bla bla, it will all work itself out.

rosa Ashton Parson teething granules are meant to be good.
Well, they are. I have used them a handful of times and they sorted both my two out quickly.

OMgoodness. Is anyone watching 'The Family'
I hope the pregnant lady is ok! I am so useless with names! I have even forgotten hers and I was just watching it

twinklingfairy · 09/12/2009 22:08

Have I got the name wrong!
That is sooo like me!
Nelson Parsons??

God, Rosa, just don't listen to me. I am just so rubbish with names!!

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 09/12/2009 22:46

it is ashton parsons twinking!

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 09/12/2009 22:48

keep meaning to ask Hana how things are with DH? I hope things are getting better, lovely.

barbareebaahumbug · 09/12/2009 22:55

Happy birthday FOF's M I love the goodbye 0 hello 1. I would be sobbing too!
Secret Santa - I have pressie, victim recipient, paper - just have to get orgaNISED AND SEND!! oops
pinky sounds awful the gas explosion. was reading a thread last night in 'chat' and some arse had called a posters aunt and told her she had to leave her home over night to be on the safe side. the aunt contacted the authorities and they said it was perfectly safe so caller was prob a burgler. Sick.
Erm, eep can't remember what else. Will is walking quite well - frankinstein style but with huge grin - much fun!
daisy not sure if will be able to do meet-up after all as is our wedding anniversary (knew date was ringing a bell... ) Dh has suggested a trip to Fountains abbey as was our first date, haven't been back for ages as we were down south. Really sad to missing your do and meeting the other northern ladies but defo in the new year! xx

chocolategal · 10/12/2009 10:58

Morning ladies

Wow, that was some night, i think that is the worst night we have ever had. Poor DS has a stinker of a cold and a sore cough
Been dosing him up with calpol and tixylix. Phoned GP today so if im worried tomorrow ive to take him in and he'll listen to his chest.
They also said they would think about prescribing medised. Is that the one you used to get from 1year but then changed it to 2yrs?

Phoned my work for an annual leave if possible for tomorrow as on early and they have given me today & tomorrow off. I almost cried! Lack of sleep is a terrible thing.

MIL has DS as i should have been going to work soon. Will leave him there for a bit so i can catch up on a few things (eg MN!!)

Sorry for me post.
Hope everyone else poorly or with poorly babies are on the mend.

Rosa · 10/12/2009 12:47

Thanks for those names I have written down and put in UK purse . I think she has broken the skin on one of her upper teeth and her bum looks less red. SO she now has the other bottom 2 to go and then we start with the Canines ( eooouuuccchhh)
Daisy and Choc hope the babies get better soon. I say that a mum knows when a babe needs to see a doc and a doc should just to the technical bit !!! When MR had what was thought to be a bornchial virus and then looks as if it was sf I saw the doc 3 times in 2 weeks and he called to see how she was !!!
If anobody knows Yorky in Rl can then contact her and ask Mr Yorky to check his inbox as I still haven't heard back re ss and the prezzie is sitting here waiting......

Rosa · 10/12/2009 12:47

Read before posting Rosa ...'do ' the technical bit !!!!

Oblomov · 10/12/2009 20:41

Lurking. Not much to report.
M driving me mad. still wakes up for one feed every other night or so. Ds1 sleeping through at 3 months, so this is mad.
Been eating non stop at work and no school run , means put on 1/2 stone. Not good for my 5 parties. oh well. I still look stunning in my new black dress.works 007 work do, 4 course dinner and casino , and taxi paid there and home, on sat night, for me and dh, looking forward to that.

Hana I am sorry you are going through this, it sounds heartbreaking.

barbareebaahumbug · 10/12/2009 23:21

oh hana xxx

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 10/12/2009 23:28

big big hugs hana

I can soooo empathise with your hollow Christmas feelings. I remember, when DH and I were going through a really bad patch, buying Valentine/Father's Day (DS1 was too small to know anything about it)/Birthday cards as it was expected, but struggling to write anything in and struggling with any sort of gift be it birthday or Christmas...and being incredibly envious of our loved up, public display of emotion friends. And this time of year always polarises these things.

Hang in there....things can and do change and I'm testmament to that fact as DH and I were barely even on speaking terms when DS1 was born.

barbs, that's such a shame that you can't come over on the 21st, but Fountain's Abbey on a (hopefully) nice crisp winter's day will be fabulous! I will be over in Harrogate one evening next week (not sure which as yet) as I have to drop off some nappies for a customer if you fancy meeting for a quick drink?

Cricri · 11/12/2009 07:36

Hana Really sorry you're having to deal with all this and are getting so little support as far as looking after F is concerned. This time of year really does make things worse as you say. I really hope that you can work things out and that DH is prepared to put in the work just as you are. Daisy's story is heartening. Please keep posting, we're hear to listen.
Sorry to hear about more poorly babies, Chocolategal hope last night was quieter for you, it's so horrible when they're ill.
E is still not sleeping in the evenings - she finally fell asleep at 9.15pm last night. She's been doing the "look no hands" thing for over a week now but hasn't taken a step yet. I'm convinced it's a developmental thing so I really wish she'd hurry up and walk (although I may come to regret that!)Fortunately DH has been around in the evenings this week to help out.
I also took her to the dr's yesterday because the cough she's had for over a month started to get worse but apparently everything is fine, no chest infection so that's good news. Just need to wait for her to get rid of it on her own I guess.
Obs Enjoy all your parties, the one tomorrow night sounds fab! E still wakes several times during the night, but like Hana's F that's because she can as I'm right next to her. Think we might try Dr Sears night weaning tips over Christmas.
Happy belated birthday to FOF's M, hope he had a fab day
Hello to everyone else
