Ooooh congratulations Bumper!

LackaDAISYcal · 21/01/2010 22:52

Yay bumper

Congratulations, and I hope you aren't feeling too rough. good to hear from you

puketastic here with bumble today, but I think it was a reaction to his MMR/pnuemococcal jabs that he had yesterday rather than a bug...time will tell I suppose as DD has spent the day stealing his dummy and licking him

struggling to keep up!!

CharlottesClan · 21/01/2010 22:57

congrats bumper

thistimeIknowitstheRiathing · 22/01/2010 00:10

yay, well done Bumper and Mr Bumper happy pseudo FB birthday too

we are having puke respite ATM. Baggins and DS2 sort of asleep on the sofa still, am waiting for the second bout...

LittleMissNorty · 22/01/2010 08:42

Congratulations Bumper. Will we see a bit more of you now on the thread?

The other thing 2nd time around is you know what you are letting yourself in for!

We've got jabs to go through soon Daisy ....hope Bumble is OK.

Went to the dentist yesterday and DD was a star. She sat in the chair on her own and said "open wide" (we'd been practicing) and let him look at all her teeth with the mirror. She thought the magic chair was fab. Did get a telling off for the night-time dummy though . (bottled it at Xmas). Blimey, she uses it between 7pm and 7am, and most of the time its not in her gob but on the pillow. Some DCs at this age still use it during the day - but still the dentist knew she used one. DS doesn't, but I bloody wish he did then I get get some sleep!

Last night her and DH were laying on her bed after a bath singing the Thomas and his friends song and she was smiling away and loving it, and I had one of those moments "this is why I had children". It made my heart melt.

Why can't they always be like that?!

Ohforfoxsake · 22/01/2010 16:08

Can I call upon your positive vibes to be sent in my direction please? I need one of the viewers this weekend to buy my house.

I thank you

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 23/01/2010 12:49

Fingers crossed for you Foxy

thistimeIknowitstheRiathing · 23/01/2010 13:58

hope it's going well foxy

Ohforfoxsake · 23/01/2010 14:10

Thanks.

Its hard to know isn't it? I hate this, I feel like someone else has the control, which effectively they do. The scented candles were lit, the surfaces were clear. I even hoovered. Its that extreme.

I'm going to wait and see. Patience isn't a strong point of mine.

Sputnik · 23/01/2010 16:11

Sounds like you've done what you could, hope something comes of it.

CharlottesClan · 23/01/2010 19:09

ohhh good luck foxy

hope you get a very good call monday to say they want it.

still in the mist of PT here, been training since monday and had lots of success till today when we have had two wee accidents and two poo accidents (lots of wees in potty between accidents)
weve been going since tuesday now, she'd better get the hang of it soon we are all sick of being stuck in!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 23/01/2010 20:37

I am of wees in potty in between accidents CC. We're not having that many accidents, but we're not having that many wees full stop! I'm not convinced she is getting the knowing when she needs to go thing, but she is adamant she wants to wear pants (will wear a disposable for naps/overnight though) and SO proud when she gets it right that we will persevere a bit longer. Not sure what nursery will do on Monday - I'd like them to let her continue with no nappies at all, but have a feeling they will want to keep her in a nappy and just offer her the potty. Not sure how much of a fuss I should make?

She was very proud today though that she made the tea! Sweet and sour chicken. Well DH cut up the veg, Charlotte mixed up the sauce (I obviously read the recipe and got out the right ingredients and helped her count x spoonfuls of this) and then I was her grown up helper who cooked it

Ohforfoxsake · 23/01/2010 20:47

Give it a go Jammy. Or she'll just pee in her nappy. I'd suggest a couple of days, and then you'll get an idea if its worth it.

Both my girls cracked it within the first couple of days. So I thought. Then it was as though they just couldn't be arsed, so we went back to nappies and left it a couple of months. When we went back to it, we really did crack it that time.

I haven't gone back to it with DD2 yet. Mainly because I know she'll leave a turd in the middle of the living room floor the second I leave her to open the door to a prospective purchaser.

thistimeIknowitstheRiathing · 23/01/2010 21:04

jammy. I could do with a grown-up helper, though not much cooking happening here atm.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 23/01/2010 21:24

We've been doing this since Weds afternoon Foxy. Trouble is she seems to have an unerving ability to go hours without a wee. Thursday morning she went 4 hours and then went all over the sofa after getting on and off the potty repeatedly for ages.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 23/01/2010 21:26

Oh I've just opened a bottle of rose and it is SO nice and slurpable and we now have Lego Rock Band but no mike as yet - probably good news for the neighbours!

thistimeIknowitstheRiathing · 23/01/2010 21:37

am looking forward to opening my bottle in a bit, but just had a cup of tea. I am hoping DH won't be too late and then I can go and see my mum for a chat in a puke-free zone. But he will be cos he had a shoot in, and a couple of bookings. I suppose it's all good.

DS1 got Beatles Rock Band in a pack with mike, drums and guitar for #50 from HMV. What is good about Lego rockband? (genuine question BTW, DS1 thinks he needs it)

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 23/01/2010 22:40

We got the Lego one largely because we liked the tracklist. DH was also keen on the Lego element which is kind of amusing but I could take or leave. I do quite like the fact that as well as playing the tracks you have to get a manager and entourage etc. in order to make the most of it.

(Btw we bought Metallica Guitar Hero for £30 in the HMV sale and then got Guitar Hero legends of Rock for £6 (or somthing equally ridiculous). We then ordered Beatles R\ockband and a mic, but the mic hasn't arrived yet, so this is our 4th game - does this make us sad old middle-agers trying to relive our youth?)

thistimeIknowitstheRiathing · 24/01/2010 15:18

I don't think so Jammy. I quite liked playing the drums!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 24/01/2010 20:36

We decided not to get the drums as we haven't got room, and we both prefered the guitar when we tried at my sister's on Boxing Day.

We had better success with the PT today. A couple of accidents, but they were at least times she had announced she wanted the potty but was too slow getting there, so that's a sign that she is finally recognising the need to go and knowing what it means. And there were 3 successes this morning So we went out and she picked a pack of Peppa Pig pants this afternoon so we have a good supply and I have packed 3 pairs and 3 changes of clothes in her nursery bag for tomorrow.

We had an early celebration of Burns night tonight with haggis and mashed tatties/swede/carrot for dinner. Jamlet liked the haggis

TALLULAHBELLE · 24/01/2010 20:59

Hi Everyone - caught up a bit last week but didn't get the chance to get back on. Now I fear things have moved on but from what I remember :
JAMMY glad your mum on the mend
JBM & BUMP good to hear you're pregnant, DAISY good to hear you're not!
FOXY am gathering that the shoes are for a wedding - yours? Boy, I'm out of touch. Congrats!
CC I worked out straight away who you were. Sorry you've had probs on here.Hope it's passed. Best to stay on this thread where it's safe.
Norty Sorry your trip was a wash out.
Ria Hope you get some puke-free time.
Think I might have seen Sputnik too. [Waves]

LackaDAISYcal · 24/01/2010 21:14

Hope the viewing went well foxy and that an offer is winging it's way to you tomorrow.

Keep persevering with the PT jammy. DD had a couple of weeks of accidents aplenty and then it just clicked towards the end of the second week and she has been pretty reliable since then. Although she is going through a bit of a regression at the minute; mainly because she is mucking about upstairs rather than going as soon as she gets up there and by the time she decides she better get on with it, it's too late. she won't let me take her though and only calls on me to wipe her bottom if she has done a poo....although might need to be firm on that score as DH cought her tucking the loo paper she had used in her pocket for later and I caught her wiping her arse with one of the clean flannels and then trying to put it back on the shelf

Anyhoo, upshit is I would let her go knickerless in the house as much as possible. goijng out is pretty hairraising at this stage, but just make sure you have a few changes and a pad for the car seat/buggy (I used a pampers bedmat). Loving her helping with the cooking; or rather you helping her

how are your boys Ria....bumble seemed OK on Friday but had projectile vomit before bed last night and has had diahorrea today. He is currently asleep, but writhing in discomfort on DH's lap

Had a pampered chef party last night and have managed to bag myself £140 worth of lovely cooking things for only £25 spend thanks to all my lovely friends who bought stuff. Had a great night as well, but fell of the wagon big time. I had been 13 days without a drink (not that I'm counting) and am finishing of some red wine and lusting after more before the bottle has even gone.

right baby to put to bed and some more wine to find drink

LackaDAISYcal · 24/01/2010 21:16

pmsl at potty training typo of upshit
