Thinking of you Jammy. I really hope your mum is OK.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/01/2010 09:06

Seems the paramedics made a wrong diagnosis - phew! Mum had slurred speech and was weak and wobbly, which is why they thought mini-stroke, but was so resposive to tests at the hospital that they ran other tests and found she has liver/gallbladder infection, and the speech/wobbliness was due to dehydration. So she is on drips for fluid and ABs. Confusing thing is they say the level of infection showing in her blood indicates she should be in a lot of pain, but she isn't at all. Will know more later today, after they have moved her to a different ward and stuff. But nowhere as bad as we thought at first Looks like they might get their golden wedding anniversary party at end of Feb after all, which reminds me I must get on with baking the cake!

Ohforfoxsake · 14/01/2010 09:19

Brilliant news Jammy (well... you know what I mean!)

Talking of cakes, does anyone have a Tana Ramsay cook book - the one with the Chocolate Boys Birthday cake in?

TheNattyPlus3 · 14/01/2010 09:50

basically jammy i have the skin rash (cant remember what nurse called it) thats the same basteria, ive had thrush in my boobs and charlies mouth (backwards and forwards) for 6 months, and i suffer with it downstairs normally at least once every couple of months..
so i think i need to clear my system completely

ive got to try something because i will have to stop breastfeeding completely if i cant clear it charlie is in alot of pain as its on the inside and the outside

TheNattyPlus3 · 14/01/2010 12:06

sorry butterfly

been on fluc tablets (more each time) 3 times since september. it goes until i stop taking the tablets

to be honest i can live with the pain because its not hugely painful for me, but charlies is really bad, great big red patches of spots round his mouth, and white all inside. we use gels and creams (on some cherry smelling drops) and it clears for a few days and comes back. (same as me!!)

at my wits end really.

what do i have to do, what do i need to cut out just sugar or is it more complicated then that?

Natty I did an anti candida diet as I was getting thrush while bf too, I followed this plan Foxy sent me where you do 5 days with no sugar at all, not even fruit, and no carbohydrates at all except 50g of brown rice. You also eat as much plain yogurt as humanly possible, including full fat greek if you like. 5 days of that really knocks the candida on the head, after which you should still avoid any kind of sugar for 2-3 weeks, but can gradually reintroduce carbs, preferably unrefined ones.

It really helped me, I didn't lose weight (which I would've liked) but it did clear the thrush, and my digestion and other things felt better afterwards as well. Give it a try.

Sputnik · 14/01/2010 13:52

Ah yes no milk products (other than yogurt) for first 5 days, no mushrooms, nothing smoked and no leftovers.

Hi Butterfly!

lol!

yes you can contact a bfc for me if u want i dont mind

can i take the docs tablets as well?

its going to kill me as i eat tons of sugar ( maybe the cause) but i gotta try something.

it all seems very complicated, u'll have to talk me thru it guys. and i might have to send dh to live somewhere else otherwise will be watching him eat nice food!

TheNattyPlus3 · 14/01/2010 15:19

know age of baby, what treatments you've had, how long it's been a problem although it looks like you've posted that already

oh and charlie is 6 months, we've tried daktarin gel, creams, the tablets, and the cherry drops stuff. i boil wash all sheets and change my bra as soon as there is a clean dry one ( i only have three)

oh and what about charlie? should i cut out dairy etc for him. i mean thats not to hard hes on two meals a day but a few days of carrots and other veg should do him fine lol!

what veg can i eat? what counts as fruit? i know some veg are quite sweet.
can i eat meat? (i mean other then not the smoked stuff)

i meant more from the point of view for clearing it from his system as well.
can charlie have plain yoghurt or is he too young?

so could have a roast with veg but not potatoes, what about gravy?
