not got the book foxy, but the recipe is here

laptop SO slow tonight.

glad your mum isn't as seriously ill as you thought jammy.

TheNattyPlus3 · 14/01/2010 17:49

oh i meant to say earlier, thanks for all the birthday wishes
i went for a deep tissue massage and spent the day in the sales, twas lovely. (granted was a few weeks after my birthday but what u gonna do?)

charlie learnt to sit today bless him, happy as anything to be put down now, which makes a change

Ohforfoxsake · 14/01/2010 18:01

Thanks Ria - didn't think to look on here! Although I did start a thread

but I got round it by going down to Waterstones and copying it out

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/01/2010 19:55

Thanks for the good wishes for my Mum. They have done a load of tests, including a scan (annoyingly Dad didn't ask what type of scan, I think he is of the era where you don't question doctors or nurses, but I guess maybe ultrasound) and that confirmed gallstones. All being well they treat that tomorrow (but again he doesn't know what treatment) and when she has recovered she can come home. So I guess she ould be having gallbladder out?

On another note, I thought I was missing a poppered wrap, and then 2 days ago I cleared up in the spare room and found a pre-Xmas nursery bag, with a used nappy and wrap festering at the bottom . Thankfully just a wet one, and not actually very whiffy. Seems to have come out of the wash without looking worse for wear anyway

TheNattyPlus3 · 14/01/2010 20:07

lmao jammy, i found one under my bath today, same as urs just wet, was actually pretty dry by today! only been there since monday tho, the night DH bathed charlie! men!

glad things are moving with your mum and you know whats going on, always much worse when no one seems to know whats wrong i think.

gosh its chilly tonight

Sputnik · 14/01/2010 21:46

Glad your Mum turned out not to have had a stroke Jammy, hope all goes well for her.

Lol at candida in north sea gas!

Natty if I were you I would do the diet together with the meds you normally use, for both of you, wouldn't worry too much about Charlie's diet, other than avoiding anything too sweet.

I think it's really true that actually the more candida you have the more sugar you crave, as that feeds it, was certainly the case for me, and you get trapped in a vicious circle. You will also feel quite strange the first 2 or 3 days as a result of the candida dying off.

thistimeIknowitstheRiathing · 14/01/2010 22:37

I've had that thread on my watch list for ages foxy, cos I keep printing out the recipe then losing it, and it is delish. Though I have never used all the icing on one cake.

fingers crossed for your mum jammy.

I have been clearing out our room today (It has been a bit of a dumping ground over xmas for stuff we wanted out of the way, but did't have time to sort out, I have managed to find loads of dirty laundry, a fair bit of clean laundry, and loads of clothes that don't fit me) Have a fair bit sorted out for the church jumble sale, but I think I may have to find another jumble sale and share it. Am really cross with myself for letting things go so much (and not finishing sorting out jobs I have started in there and never finished - the stash of kids clothes etc). Am hoping once I get it tidied we will sleep better, if DH takes some holiday soon we might even get the decorating finished

your birthday treat sounds nice natty I am a bit wary of treatments after my facial, and my back went while I was having my scale and polish the other day. I need a treatment I can sit up for as would love to go again, but can't risk my back - it's too embarrassing!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 15/01/2010 10:30

You need Indian Head Massage Ria!

LittleMissNorty · 15/01/2010 21:51

Hello

How scary Jammy - for you all and hope all is ok. Your mum must have a bloody amazing pain threshold if she wasn't in pain from the biliary colic. It was worse / as bad as labour IIRC....think Daisy will agree with that as well.

Hi Natty / Butterfly

Had a really fucking awful business trip to Frankfurt starting with my seat being given to someone else, getting to Heathrow at 10.30am Wednesday and arriving in hotel 2.30am Thursday, being given the wrong key / room number and waking up some poor, poor woman at 2.45am trying to get into her room, getting 3 and a half hours in bed before getting up to get ready for cab pick-up at 8 and then concentrating looking down a microscope all day, before the hairy 2 hour journey back to the airport, my poor friend being frisdked, bags out the lot twice and nearly missing the plane home as a result! I've just eaten my first proper meal since Tuesday night! Who said all expenses paid business trips were jollies?

To top it all when I saw DD this morning and asked her for a cuddle she cried and said "I want nanny"

Oh well, a decent sleep tonight and I shall be a different person tomorrow

Thank fuck all the snow has gone.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 15/01/2010 22:41

Sorry your trip was so rubbish Norty

My MIL tells me that lack of pain in the "more elderly" isn't uncommon. But I have no idea why. They treated her this evening, but didn't remove the gallbaldder. I'm not sure what they did exactly (again no questions from Dad) but they broke up the stones somehow, and it involved putting a tube down her throat. They haven't said yet when she can go home, and I don't even know how the liver infection is doing

thistimeIknowitstheRiathing · 15/01/2010 23:27

sorry you had a shit trip norty

glad your mum is getting treatment jammy. hope all goes well and she is home soon.

just had a row with DH. He was late home because he got stopped by the police - they were waiting for him because someone from the pub had rung them and said he and several other people who were driving had had a few pints. He had - of coke! I know it's not his fault, but he gets so fecking clever about it, and always makes himself so conspicuous to the people where he works that there's no surprise people are sometimes out to get him, but he doesn't see it. AND he hasn't been paid yet this week, that worries me a lot because we've been here many times, and he doesn't seem bothered. I can't even say if he doesn't get paid tomorrow he's not going in, because if he doesn't go in he won't ever get it.

and, I've just had an email from my friend to say her partner moved out today. I know we've had a rough couple of years friendship-wise, but I am gutted for her. Am clinging on to the hope it will blow over.

TheNattyPlus3 · 15/01/2010 23:34

oh jammy that you arnt getting much proper info on whats going on. i know that must make you feel a bit frustrated, i hated not knowing what was going on during dhs surgery when it went on three hours longer then it should have!

speaking of which three weeks til dh's second attempt at getting his kidney fixed. feeling very anxious about it, but getting more people involved so i can be with him this time.

sorry ur business trip was poo norty, and yes thank fuck the snow has gone!

massage wasnt brilliant ria, my shoulder is much worse since, and all my muscles feel bruised. not overly impressed, dont think the girl really knew what she was doing, she was very young! (gosh i sound like an old fart.. )

still no luck with ellen and potty training. anyone else still in nappies?

TheNattyPlus3 · 15/01/2010 23:37

x post ria
sorry to hear uve had a crap evening

hope dh gets paid soon, some employers take the piss!

LackaDAISYcal · 16/01/2010 00:04

oh, jammy, sorry to hear about your mum's gallstones. They probably did this?:

Endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography (ERCP)
ERCP removes gallstones and is often performed in addition to having your gallbladder removed. The procedure is usually done under sedation - so you're awake but relaxed and comfortable during the procedure. A narrow, flexible, telescopic camera called an endoscope is put into your mouth and down through your gut to your bile duct. Special instruments can be passed inside the endoscope to allow the surgeon to remove gallstones from the bile duct.

My consultant said that they can recur if removed in this way, so they generally always operate to remove the bile duct, but I would imagine that your mum's age and the risks from GA would mean that this is probably the best option for her. does your sister or brother have any more information from your Dad? He is probably too overwhelmed by it all and not taking all the information in?

I hope she is doing OK and that they get the liver infection sorted. Thinking of you all x

Arse to crap employers Ria and horrible business trips Norty.

I agree with the candida thing....I am off wine at the minute, and my craving for sweet things seems to have stepped up a gear; obviously my body trying to replace the sugar in the wine!!!

I need to try that diet as well....since I went to the trouble of buying the books! Do you get really hungry on it?...can not bear feeling hungry.

Hey foxy and butterfly

been having non sleeping issues.....probably due to the lack of alcohol so been having a few rough days with the DC. I grabbed 20 mins before the kids bedtime and 40 mins afterwards and have perked up again and not sleepy in the least...hey ho. At least I'm getting on with my knitting projects.

have a good weekend all and that the snow disappears....there is about four inches of hard compacted ice on all the pavements (an my street) so I imagine we will still be slipping and sliding until next week. Am so fed up with it now; pushing the pram is a major workout, and one that isn't doing my knackered pelvis ANY favours.

TheNattyPlus3 · 16/01/2010 00:41

for ice daisy, it rained here today and blissfully all the snow disapeared! which is good as i have sing and sign with charlie tomorrow

did u get my email about knitting longies? got some yummy wool coming.. dont quite trust myself to knit it up just yet.

we having sleeping issues here, just not me being awake, charlie!

thistimeIknowitstheRiathing · 16/01/2010 10:49

didn't sleep well myself.

it is raining and windy today. have a load of ironing, then DS2 is at a party. Have just asked DS1 to tidy his room (again) and he is ignoring me. He will regret it on Monday. He needs to watch a police drama over the weekend for homework, so I can't ban TV as I would like to.

have a nice day everyone

thistimeIknowitstheRiathing · 16/01/2010 12:32

did you see this just now?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 16/01/2010 13:19

I slept amazingly well , sorry

Thanks for that info Daisy and no my brother and sister don't know any more. I guess as you said at Mum's age (and with her being a smoker) the GA risks are higher.

Cake making this weekend - 50th anniversary cake for my parents. Glad they are both going to be here to celebrate it. Twice over the past couple of months we've thought they might not make it

Am I really sad to be VERY disappointed that the "George" vacuum cleaner (Hanry's big brother) that came this week is blue, and not red like we ordered? The company say they have no record of our phone call where we requested a red one so are happy to replace but the cost of returning it falls with us. We talked a lot about it and agree that it is silly to pay to return it and have the hassle of rearranging delivery etc just for the colour, but I am very about it. I wanted a Geoarge, not a one!

CharlottesClan · 16/01/2010 16:24

hey guys, name change due to problems on another part of the board.

wont say who i am tho im sure you will work it out ;)

jammy thats not sad at all! i get particular about colours of things myself and if you ordered red in the first place they should honour it at no cost to you!

thistimeIknowitstheRiathing · 16/01/2010 16:52

not worked it out yet CC, but I'm sure we will if you post more got to love being able to name-change.

I would be a bit narked too Jammy. I hate the way people can lose phonecalls.

Had a nap while DS2 was at the party. Feel a bit better, but rough too as I could have done with another hour or so.

don't know what to give them for tea. DS2 didn't eat a lot at the party so will need feeding.

CharlottesClan · 16/01/2010 17:11

sorry ur feeling rough ria

im on everyones fb, and daisy knows why i have changed (and who i am prob) as she is following the thread with the probem on it.

ds2 been miserable today, possibly teething but who knows.

trace2 · 17/01/2010 10:18

hello all, onceagain read thread and forgot its the lak of sleep i get! with chloe still waking 7 to 10 times a night and doing her funny turns and then jack at 7 still waking . anyway ill stop moaning!

well dd1as finily moved out and had her 12 week scan but now am looking for white bedroom furniture for chloe but can not pay loads, its a night mare looking any one any ideas? plus chloe still in cot in my bedroom which bed do i go for, but its got to be big enough for me as of her seizures i need to be there.

we are starting the statement for chloe next week, but still dont know what to do about nursery as they need training to have her.

Ohforfoxsake · 17/01/2010 12:46

Well I'm stumped. Who are you CC?

Can you link the thread?

anyone want to find me some high heeled cream satin shoes, closed toe? The only ones I like are £135 and in Australia.

LittleMissNorty · 17/01/2010 13:15

well I've worked it out - and why!

DS is covered in spots and got HFM - is there no end to it all? To be fair, he's fine in himself, just got to persuade nursery that he was contagious last week and although it looks awful, he's fine and other kids will already have it / been exposed

Nice to see you Trace - I just bought a faull size 3 ft single for DD rather than toddler bed - and its fine. Then when we have visitors, she sleeps in a ready bed and they sleep in hers. My mum even has her own duvet so save me keep changing the bed!

I've got a pair of cream satin shoes (sling backs) worn for about an hour then changed into my comfy shoes

Ohforfoxsake · 17/01/2010 13:18

Is there a clue in the name?
