SO sorry to hear that Strawberry - what shit news....

LittleSarah · 10/10/2009 17:40

Oh no Strawberry! Your poor dh!! I hope he finds something else soon.

My bad news is that my has a small cancer in her rib. She had breast cancer 18 yrs ago and lost her left breast and it is just behind there. It is not as bad as it sounds (hopefully!) as doctor says it is very isolated, small and emminently treatable. She is having 20 bouts of radiotherapy over 4 weeks and then fingers crossed the 'progression' as they call it will be gone. It's a little confusing but it is not a tumour but a group of cancerous cells so not advanced at all. I just wished she told me a wee bit sooner but no point feeling hurt about little things when there are much bigger issues at stake! Anyway, hopefully all will be well.

Erm and Ineed and Daisy - Thanks for your advice about dd. She is five and a half so not one of the youngest but it doesn't surprise me she is not listening enough, I get it at home too. She is clever, she is picking up everything she is learning it seems to me, I just don't know. I hope it is just early days, I think it likely she will settle. I will try getting more detail about her day out of her. She always says things like I can't remember when I ask and runs off to climb up walls and so on, I shall persevere!

Oh and Daisy - I meant to say about lying face to face breastfeeding at night, tis great! Alex doesn't tend to get wind then too and it much more relaxed.

Right, quiet evening in with dh and ds, dd is with her d! We were going to have steak for dinner but dh has bought these massive braising steaks and I really think they are going to need a bit more than a quick pan fry.

Well, hope all is well with you guys!

LittleSarah · 10/10/2009 17:41

MY MUM sorry!

Naat · 10/10/2009 20:30

Hi all!

LittleS, oh so sorry to hear that. All my prayers going her way for it to disappear after her treatment (((hug))) Erm's idea of asking DD about her day and digging might make her pay more attention and look forward to sharing her day with you

Strawberry, so sorry to hear about your Dh's job. IBS is a serious thing and it's quite annoying that they didn't understand. I have no idea what the rules are but I have a friend who suffers from it and it's so unpredictable... Prayers also going your way for another job to come along.

Ineed, did you read the other thread? The nasty Italian is gone Last night I was glued to the laptop DH wasn't impressed He looked at me and said 'it's MN, right?' So sorry to hear about your night, hope you have a better one tonight.

Ermin, hi! I got a lovely wetsuit for Mila on e-bay today. My first time bidding as well, I always go for the buy it now I'm too anxious LOL

Daisy, I know what you mean about chatterbox babies at 4-5am Mila today woke up at almost 6, not hungry, just interested in chatting to mum and dad Luckily she wore herself out soon and fell asleep soon after.

Mrsmc, that viral video is scary Glad to hear you looked into the shingles thing! Imagine if she had flown! She didn't seem too worried about it (neither did/does your SIL ) I had chicken pox when I was about 5-6 and remember my mum rubbed a menthol thing ALL over for me not to feel the itch but it made me feel soooo cold, and you must consider I was in 35-degree Ecuador then but at least it did the trick and I didn't scratch. I guess I was too cold to notice the itch Hope Aaliyah is not too upset due to her teething.

Bigcar, thanks for the advice, it'll be at her time then Our pool is warmish once you're in the pool area but the lockers/showers are icy cold so the wetsuit will help I guess

Worried, that dress looks lovely. Is having it made a bit cheaper maybe? I have no idea, that's why I ask. I wore my sister's dress (she had got married 3 years earlier) and it was a lovely dress (plus we were saving to come here and pay my MA so...) I also see some pics of our LOs and tell DH 'oh that face is just like Mila's in x picture'

Tee, hi! Hope you're having a nice wkend

Oh that was long, I hadn't posted since yesterday Hi to all the rest of the Juners!

Right, no news about my present yet... maybe the strike of RM is to blame?

Strictly at home didn't work much, as DH was not too keen so X factor it is and then I watch what I can afterwards, but it's hard to catch up!

Waves!!!

MrsMcJnr · 10/10/2009 22:01

Lovely family day at the Mother, Baby and Toddler show. Only in Marbella though would the first exhibitor be a plastic surgeon! Bumped into my old dr (the private one who never replied to me about my birth plan) rather enjoyed gloating over Aaliyah?s very natural birth! Had a free assessment by a chiropractor and he confirmed what I knew, my sciatica or whatever it is is not going to simply get better on its own

Daisy ? poor you, I had a night like that a few back. I just held Aaliyah in the dark but I think I dropped off before she did but she too fell asleep again eventually. I think babies like us just sometimes don?t feel like sleeping. DH still hasn?t discussed the shingles issue with his mother I just know that I am going to come out as the bad guy in this but she just cannot come to the christening. I don?t want to take the risk with my own kids and it would be downright irresponsible with other peoples?. I loved that Pregnancy Song it was hilarious.

Ineedmore ? hope last night was a one off and that tonight is a lot more settled. I am generally getting about 6 hours at the moment and not consecutively, not enough for me .

Ermintrude - thanks. I think things are going to hit the fan with MIL I have to say.

Stawberrysam ? so sorry to hear about DH?s job, I hope he finds another very soon.

Littlesarah ? wishing your Mum a speedy and full recovery, scary stuff, sorry to hear about that. Enjoy your night in!

Naat ? what was this juicy thread you were on? I crashed one last night which turned into quite a fight!

Anyone finding Strictly a little too long? I can?t sit and watch TV for that long without getting restless!

Skillbo · 10/10/2009 23:10

Evening lovely ladies..

Wow - sooo much to catch up on and loads of news, both great and not so great!

MrsM - I am still leaking like a holy bucket at night and am trying to mop up the excess with a muslin draped over me but not that successful, our duvet and mattress will never be the same again. I can't keep track of the number of times Jazzy feeds each day but it is a lot - she rarely goes longer than about an hour and a half without wanting to chow down. She is better at night but, like you, am resigned to getting up at least twice a night.... Interesting little remark around sciatica - I suddenly got a really painful left leg (feels like the nerves) when I was about 4 monhs pregnant and it has really been playing up today. I thought it would go but looks like it's here to stay - so let me know if you have a breakthrough!

Doris - my MIL has got one of those Ikea highchairs for her place and they do look great.. told you she was keen

Strawbs - I am sooo sorry to hear about your DH. He's probably better off working for someone a but more understanding but that's probably not much help right now. My DP has been unemployed for a total of about a year in the last three years and no matter what happens, something always comes up and you muddle through. Sending you big hugs though! Also, bighugs re the swaddling situation - I still haven't bitten the bullet and tried it, have just swapped her shawl for the one my mum made for me when I was a baby so going to keep her swaddled for the moment. I have taken Jazzy swimming a few times and it's a bit shite really as although it is a baby and toddler swim, there isn't anything put on for them apart from a few floats thrown aeound the pool. It is fun though and we just bob about and I dunk her, which she's not a fan of!

Naat - I'm not back to work until Jan so Jazzy will be about 7 months. Am hoping this will mean not too much worrying about expressing and stuff but???? (thanks for your advice here, Erm) As to what to wear for a swim - Jazzy wears a little costume over some swimming nappies. The nappies are a bit big as they start at 16lbs so we have to have the cossy or they'd fall down! Good luck with the house hunting!!

Worried - beautiful dress but what a price tag! I am sure you will find something more in your price range and you'll look fab! I did have a about the cottage cheese comment. Jazzy does this but I don't worry as its never loads and I figure she's just overindulged a little. Everyone elses advice seems good to me!

Daisy - wow, your chicken pox sounded bad. I got it quite mildly at about 9 but I do still have a scar on my left boob! MrsM - boo about your MIL, really hope she stays at home. Gives you a break as well . Wow - your little man is becoming a big boy and youhave my sympathies about the early waking! Jazzy has done this the last couple of mornings and it is hell - I pick her up and then put her down, listen to her whinge and then try it again. She normally gets back down after a couple of tries but it is horrible!!

Littles - sorry to hear about your Mum but the prognosis sounds encouraging so hope it all goes well! Just to reassure you, I remember stalling my car about 4 times in a row with my Dad in the passanger seat - it was soo hideous, he told me to stop learning but luckily my instructor talked him round. I was chatting with a polish mum at one of my groups and she said that it is tradition in Poland to give their little ones tea - chamomile if they're constipated and another one to firm things up and if all else fails, try them with just some weak, regular tea. I was a bit , another example of saying 'oooh, might try that' and then ignoring them.. tee hee!

Phew - that was hardcore. OK, my news... my brother was due to come for a visit but he forgot to MOT his car so couldn't - fairly typical of my bro, but still a bit annoying as he rarely visits and I was looking forward to it. Oh well, means had a relaxing day today and got to visit a good friend who I don't see often enough.

Strictly was fun again tonight but cannot believe the two Jo(e)'s are still going as they drive me barmy. I also found myself shouting 'Shut Up' at Alesha as well as Bruce and Tess tonight. I was surprised that Craig stayed but I do quite like him. Loving Ricky W though - thats what set me off hating Alesha actually, as her comments for him were ridiculous.

Meeting up with MIL tomorrow which should be fun - Jazzy loves it which is the main thing. Anyways, this is quite an essay so best go and try and catch some zzzz's before a little someone wakes up!

Take it easy all and enjoy the rest of the weekend xx

worriedamy · 11/10/2009 15:05

Hello everyone, hope you are having nice relaxing Sundays!!

Oh LittleSarah, what sad news... you sound very optimistic about the diagnosis, I'm sure your mum will be fine xxx My brother failed his driving test on Friday, he was not impressed! Don't worry, you will get there in the end!

StrawberrySam- that's bad news about DP's job; are they allowed to do that?! Surely sacking someone because of an illness is discrimination?!

Naat- I saw that thread about the Italian woman too, lol!! MN to the rescue!! What a horrible situation for the OP to be in! Was all very strange! Talking of threads... [whispers] do you know what the big thing is with all these threads getting deleted??? [scared to mention any names in case this thread gets deleted!!!] Do you know what I mean?!?! Does anyone else know what I mean?!?! Lol!!

MrsMcJnr- I am the same with leaking at night, its horrible isnt it, I hate it. I have to wearing a nursing bra and pads, and starting to get a bit sick of it now! I started leaking colostrum at about 20 weeks, so I have had to wear a bra non-stop for over 6 months... my poor boobs need to breathe lol!! They only get to come out in the shower, and then because going in the shower/bath makes my boobs leak, a bra goes on as soon as I step out!! V tiresome I was reading a thread the other day about leaking milk while you are having sex (really not an issue for us at the mo ) and most of the responses said that by the time 6 weeks comes around, your supply will have evened out and you wouldn't leak anymore- that really isnt the case for me! I still leak during the day, and breast pads are really starting to cost a fortune!!

Did anyone see X Factor last night?! How catty was Dannii Minogue to poor Danyl!! Talk about putting him on the spot, god I thought he was going to cry!! How sad is the news about Stephen Gately too- somehow think that Louis Walsh might be missing from X Factor tonight. I think I might have to start watching Strictly as I feel as though I am really missing out on the goss!!!

Just after a bit of advice please... feeds have turned into a bit of a battle recently, and I'm not too sure why. Last night was the worst, Caelan is fighting so hard and crying he goes purple! He goes on, and for about 2-3 mins he is fine (I'm assuming he is having to concentrate on the fast let-down and that is distracting him!!). Then after 2-3 mins, I still have plenty of milk because when he pulls off my boob I can still see it pouring out. This is all when I dont use the nipple shields. When I do use them, its a totally different story, a lot calmer, no fighting, so it can't be the taste of my milk, or that milk isnt coming out fast enough, as I would have though it would come out slower through a shield. I have had a look for any signs of thrush in his mouth, and I can't see any- but surely if it was thrush, then he would still be fighting when I use the nipple shields?? I want to stop using the shields now, as Caelan doesn't empty my boob properly when I wear them, and I hate having to hold them on all the time when they ruffle up!! Don't get me wrong- without them I would not be breastfeeding now, I am 100% sure of that, but now I want to stop using them. Caelan's mouth is a bit bigger now, and feeding is a lot easier. He latches on really easily now, so thats not the problem either. The first feed in the morning is fine, nice and chilled, and then he usually goes back to sleep in a milk-induced coma!! So I just dont get it?! What do I do!?

Skillbo · 11/10/2009 21:08

Hello - just a quick one..

Amy - I am having the same issue with feeding as you at the moment in that every feed (apart from those in the middle of the night) is a bit of a battle. From other threads I have read in the Breast and Bottle Feeding thread I think it is an age thing. At around 4 months, they really start to take a massive interest in the environment, so not just people and a few toys - therefore, they think they are missing out and so don't want to sit still for feeds. Your morning feed sounds like my night ones in that the food is more important and there is blatently nothing going on beyond food...

I was also worried it might be something to do with my flow (also crazy fast!) or supply (like you, I am still leaking like a mad woman) but I think it is just a phase. Jazzy sometimes looks right around whilst still gripping my nip so it's all a bit tender but think this will pass with time.

I presume you are feeding on demand? Something else I have noticed is that Jazzy is going longer between feeds and so I offer the boob as I have always done, about once every hour and a half, and like a good girl who never says no (and she genuinely never has), she has a bit of a munch. However, she is quickly full and so gets bored - perhaps this is also part of our problem!

Hope this helps - any other pearls of wisdom from you other lovely Juners would be most welcome though as I'm just going with it but not sure if this is right!

Oh - and I manage to squirt my milk all over DPs chest when we have nooky - he seems to like it though which is a bit odd but each to their own!!

Hope everyone had a good weekend!!

MrsMcJnr · 11/10/2009 21:33

Hey ladies holiday here tomorrow so it?s like Sat night again feeling exhausted after an emotional day. DH spoke to his parents and told them that given what the dr had said, they could not come to the christening. They took it personally and DH got very upset but SIL has helped PIL postpone their trip for a few weeks but all the upset has taken its toll on us all.

Skillbo ? was talking to my sis and like me she had slight sciatica during her first pregnancy which came back and got worse in her second and like me, her?s has never really gone they give babies chamomile and fennel tea here. I have read that you should not give babies normal tea because it depletes vit c in their diet. Sorry your brother couldn?t visit you in the end. Who left Strictly last night? I got bored watching.

Worriedamy ? I?m the same, my boobs are always captive unless I am in the shower and even then I have to lean over the bath to get dry sounds to me like Caelan?s gums are hurting him when he sucks (and he has to suck harder on the breast for the milk than on the shield) I have found that if I massage bonjela/calgel on Aaliyah?s gums when she behaves like this it does stop. Worth a try.

Sad about Steven Gately, is it some kind of sexual asphyxia do you think?

bunnymother · 11/10/2009 22:04

Hello ladies!

Posting from bed where both Delie and DH are asleep next to me. So adorable! Delie is taking up the most room due to her odd habit of sleeping horizontally across the bed. Such a precious first born!

More great advice from you lovely Juners! A friend is off to Ikea today for the high chair and said she would get me one too if possible. I have heard so many good things about it.

Bought Delie a cot bed from John Lewis and they only delivered half of it so have to wait till Thurs for the other half, and so Delie still jammed in the Moses basket. No wonder she loves a sleep in w us!

Naat - am going to get the same mat for Delie that you have for Mila. Your sweet baby! Sorry to hear about your DHs laptop. Such a pain!!

Skillbo - so sorry about your DH losing his job! Has he spoken to an employment lawyer? Wondering if they can actually do this?

Daisy - forgot to say how much I laughed at the pregnancy song. Soo funny! Fraser is a v handsome happy boy! We haven't taken Delie swimming yet or in the shower (slippery shower floor) but I plan to take her swimming when she is about 6 months' old.

Am now writing this at 10pm as Delie and DH woke up mid post and we have been out and about. We all have bad head colds so taking it easy. Delie went to sleep two hours ago and I am sipping Drambuie for my throat while DH does some work. A Dr friend said Drambuie is good for a bad throat. And that one piece of advice I will not seek a second opinion on!!

Talk soon, nighty night ladies!

bunnymother · 11/10/2009 22:12

LittleS - so sorry to hear about your mum, but sounds like they caught it quickly. Hope her treatment goes well and it's not too draining on her.

MrsMcJnr - glad your DH told MIL not to visit. Althouh sorry to hear it wasn't accepted w grace and common sense!

Worried - beautiful dress! Hope you can find an affordable dress. I got married in a slinky white evening dress, but got married inSydney (seems to be less formal culture than over here) in the grass so worked for the day. Could you look at a non wedding dress or get it made? Good luck and happy shopping!

MrsMcJnr · 11/10/2009 22:13

hmmm Drambuie hope you all feel better soon Bunny

worriedamy · 11/10/2009 22:15

Hi

Skillbo- I definetly think you are right about the not wanting to sit still and thinking they are missing out- he wont go to sleep if he thinks there might be something he is missing out on!! It very well could explain why the first feed in the morning is a more chilled one. My let-down is quite fast too, I can hear him coughing and spluttering, but he'll be damned if he will let go!! He would rather drink through the coughing, . But this is more a painful frustrated cry... MrsMcJnr I think you might be on to something with the gums. While he is fighting, he is trying to rub his face against my arm (which leads to a very stretched and rather sore nipple), so it does sound like it might be his gums, I will try the calgel before a feed. I did read somewhere a while ago to try and avoid the gel just before a feed because it might stop the baby being able to use their tongue properly to feed (with the anaesthetic), have you found this at all?? I will definetly give it a go though. How often do you use the shields now? I still always use them for the last feed at night, as its lying down, and a bit more chilled!

worriedamy · 11/10/2009 22:19

lol- tell you what, you wait all day for a post then loads come along at once... just like those London buses eh!!

Thanks bunnymother- I definetly don't mind shopping around, lol!! Was it nice and warm for your wedding? I am hoping that the weather is nice here in August, but knowing England, it probably wont be!!

MrsMcJnr · 11/10/2009 22:21

Not read that Worried to be honest but I only give her the tiniest amount just to take the edge off (it can give her explosive nappies). I used shields with my DS but have been very lucky this time and have not needed to.

worriedamy · 11/10/2009 22:32

Yep, will definetly give that a try, thanks!!

bunnymother · 12/10/2009 05:45

Insomnia...

Btw love that you went straight to dark and nasty sex games re Stephen Gately, MrsMcJnr . I am such a babe in the woods I was thinking mysterious heart defect. But then I have just watched lots of episodes of House M.D. . We don't have TV so just watch DVDs. Am prepared for shocked and baffled reaction, get it aaaalllll the time

Worried - God yes, it sure was warm. 29C but that was cooler than the surrounding days. So my slip of a dress was just right. I chose it w my DH so there's not much to it . Will try and find a pic and post, will let you know once done. My 2 pence re wedding dresses - ignore the sales assistants. They can be bitches who mostly sneer at your budget (apparently never enough) and your timeline (ditto). No, you do not need to pay the GDP of a small country 3 years in advance to get a nice dress. You will look beautiful.

Why, when I am sick and need sleep, can't I sleep?!?!

Naat · 12/10/2009 09:45

Hi all!

Definitely like buses

bunny, oh, hope you went back to sleep soon after you finished posting. Insomnia is a pain!

Worried, the SAME is happening to me. Not always but sometimes she pushes my boob and stretches my nipple (ouch!) and I have no idea why she does that. Let's hope Skillbo is right and it's just a phase

Mrsmc, sorry to hear your PIL didn't take the news sensibly. You could be the one feeling resentful for MIL not considering the facts and flying anyway and you're not doing that, so it's not fair she's feeling this way and therefore rocking the boat at home Hope DH didn't react badly to this. Is the baptism this weekend? xxx

Skillbo, hi! I SO hope you're right Glad to hear you still have some time before going back to work.

House-hunting during the weekend. There aren't many houses around the area that we like, some of them are in not-very-nice neighbourhoods, or not very nice themselves, or don't have white goods, OR are out of our budget so I think if nothing comes into the market soon we might have to move to a flat again. I really want a garden! Oh well... there are some very nice flats in converted mills around the area, they are new, come with white goods and they have lifts so there's no problem with the pram We'll see!

Right, nice day here, albeit chilly No plans for today but to finish DH's bob book (or at least get near the end LOL)

Waves to all!!!

ermintrude13 · 12/10/2009 10:47

Sorry to hear about your DH's job Strawb. They can't actually fire someone on the grounds of ill health though, so as suggested he could take some advice about the legality of it all.

mrsMc and Worried - Arthur gets distracted while feeding sometimes too, and keeps trying to look around whilst not relinquishing the nipple . But he's not upset while he does it, and while he loves sticking anything he can grab into his mouth it's more to suck than to chew on, so maybe your older babies are getting ready for their toothypegs..

bunny can I have the number of your doctor?

Have lovely days - sunny here and Ocado have sent me a 15% off offer so I might take hang out the washing and then spend too much money on my groceries for delivery tomorrow

worriedamy · 12/10/2009 13:46

naat you dont fancy buying a house in Skelmersdale do you, lol?! Goddammit, we have had the house up for sale for 14 months now... we were hoping to move before I had Caelan, and now we are still here really desperate to move, but the estate agents don't fill me with confidence... we have just swapped agents to see if it has any effect, but I'm not optimistic. The manager of the shop thought you transfered images from one computer to another by unplugging the mouse and plugging it in the other computer I seriously think I could do a better job myself...

ermin I haaaaaate food shopping with a passion!! Have never tried getting it delivered though, I have a feeling I would spend a lot more than usual if everything was there on the screen, and I didnt have to think about how I'm going to have to carry it all round the side of the house!!

bunnymother the wedding dress people do seem pretty snotty . I think because I look quite young, they look at me and think 'can't be bothered spending my time with that kid, and she won't have any money to spend'. I hate looking young, I really do I'm sick of people looking at me all snooty when I'm walking around with Caelan, and I regularly get asked for I.D. when buying a bottle of wine etc etc. I even got asked for I.D. for buying eggs the other day . It is really embaressing, I hate it!

I think it might be Caelan's teeth that are bothering him now, thinking about it!! Does anyone have any ideas about soothers for him?! Because he is pretty young (13 weeks, plus a couple of days!!) he hasn't quite got the hang of holding something in his hand and putting it in his mouth to chew, like a rattle or something (plenty goes in his mouth, but there doesn't seem to be any real co-ordination to it yet) so the gel rings are no good. naat I bought those tommee tippee dummy soothers, but they are too big for his mouth!! He can only fit one side in his mouth, and ends up sucking it like a dummy!! His two fangs are just poking through, but haven't really moved much in the last couple of weeks, so looks like its going to be a slow process !!

Busy week for me this week... its my aunty's birthday on Thursday, my mum's 50th on Friday, and my brother's 18th on Sunday!! Bit if a crippler on the financial side too!! And then DP's son passes out of the Navy in a couple of weeks too, which involves a pretty lengthy journey down to Plymouth! My friends asked me to go to Alton Towers with them this Wednesday, and seemed maybe a bit put out when I said I wouldn't be able to go. I don't think they realise that I would have had to be feeding Caelan everyone 2-3 hours, and I wouldnt have been able to go on any rides, so it wouldn't have really been the same! As none of my friends have children, or even serious boyfriends for that matter, I dont think they really understand that I can't just up and go to Alton Towers like I used to be able to!! As much as I would like to...

worriedamy · 12/10/2009 13:53

Oh, another thing I was going to ask too... we tried to do a hand print of Caelan on a card for DP's son in the navy. We were going to send it to him, as he has been feeling a bit homesick Well, it was a bit of a disaster, paint everywhere! And a circly splodge on a piece of card was the end result!! Any ideas how do it?? He doesn't really open his hand out properly... am I expecting a bit too much?!

June2009 · 12/10/2009 14:27

Hey Juners! Back from holiday, we had a great time! It was nice and hot, 30 degrees most days.
C. was an angel on the plane both ways.
On the way back she even had her own little seat in between us which was just the cutest thing :D

I don't think I'll ever be able to catch up on everybody's news. I hope everyone's ok and the baby juners are growing well.

we went to the gp this morning because an old and distant (and drunk) uncle said C. looked like she had an ear infection. (she doesn't.)

I just skimmed through a few messages and we're having a bit of a fight at meal time too. She is teething too.
I just used dentinox teething gel and c. seemed to have calmed down a little bit just now and feeding.

It was definitely nice to be both looking after the baby and I am not really looking forward to tomorrow when dh is back to work.

strawb the sacking definitely sounds fishy. Does he have a written contract? In order to sack someone an employer usually has to follow a (lengthy) procedure, something like 1 verbal warning, and two written warning with the opportunity for the employee to better the situation.
If you "let someone go" presumably there is a redudancy package that goes with it.
We had to "let someone go" and it cost us something like 3 months wages. and if you do make someone redundant then you cannot hire someone else to do the same job.
Definitely worth looking into if they are just telling him to go and not compensating him.

Better go and get shopping in and cases emptied out.

take care

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 12/10/2009 15:05

Hello all

Sorry to hear about your mum littleSarah. DH's father was diagnosed this time last year and he's really well now. It's such a scary thought though. The word itself is the scariest thing. I hope all goes well with her treatment.

DD does the 'pulling off the nipple to stare at the surroundings' thing. Fine (if a little painful) at home, but potentially embarrassing when feeding in public! I also have to wear breastpads all day and all night. Mainly because when I get let-down, I get it in both boobs so the other one leaks like mad. I should collect it really

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 12/10/2009 15:07

X-Posts June glad to hear that you had a fab holiday!

Skillbo · 12/10/2009 16:25

Just quickly popping on whilst Jazzy snoozing (don't think it will last much longer!)...

Hand prints - I have tried these a couple of times and they have never worked out. We just endup with a piece of paper covered in little finger prints rather than the hand. Like you, Amy, I just can't get her to spread her hand out. Oh well, obviously not just us so will have to wait a while. Mind you, did you see how the managed it for those prints, Ineed, and we could maybe try that?

June, glad you had a fab holiday. I have fially booked my flights for end of November and can't wait! It's going to be great to get away from it all and have someone else to share the load a little.

Insomnia - its a kind of hell, isn't it. I always thought I would reach a point and then be so tired, nothing would stop me dropping off but doesn't seem to be the case. My sympathies to all who are suffering as it is the worst!

Was supposed to be having fun with a friend today but he stood us up - wouldn't have been so bad if just me but trying to time everything around Jazzys naps is a nighmare (shes stopped dropping off so easily in the buggy as she now faces forward and can't bear to miss a thing - but becomes a right whingy madam if she misses too much sleep!).

Anyways, hope everyones week has started ok and hugs to all xx
