Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MrsMcJnr · 02/11/2009 22:55

Sorry that I haven?t been on for a while, I don?t know where the time has gone! Hope everyone is doing ok. Aaliyah?s bottom front two teeth are now visible cutting through poor little mite

We had a very fruitful weekend ? friends are moving abroad and are not taking anything with them so we were given a walker, a trike, a motorbike (manual one), a swing, a play mat and a huge box of clothes. DS is crazy about the motorbike and the trike but DH isn?t happy as they are both bright pink!

Very quick catch up as it?s late:

Skillbo ? toy library sounds like a great idea sorry to hear about the choking incident, horrible. I have never used a syringe, just the spoon. Thanks for the olive oil tip, will try it.

Bigcar ? I feel for you with the disturbed sleep, I was up a lot last night too.

Naat ? I love it when my babies considerately sleep several hours at the same time, it?s bliss, yesterday was the reverse, 20 mins of sleep all day each and not at the same time hope your move comes about quickly and that the new place is much better.

Llynnn ? good to hear from you your girls sound lovely together. DS shouts for ?e-ar? first thing in the morning and she reserves all her best smiles for him too, it melts your heart doesn?t it?

June ? not a clue about the eyebrows, sorry!

Choccie ? sounds like you have a good little sleeper there not much action going on here either. I can?t take any form of hormonal contraception. At the moment I am looking out for signs of returning fertility but there are none so I am safe for now (I hope).

Ermintrude ? hey there

Daisy ? hope the DCs are feeling much better, what a shame!

Lots of ladies missing in action at the mo?

llynnnn · 03/11/2009 07:18

morning!

mrsmc - great of your friend to leave lots of toys for dc! bet ds thinks its christmas! sorry to hear A is suffering with her teeth but at least they are coming now so hopefully will ease for her for a while

skillbo - sorry to hear about the choking, mustve been very scary for you. Jazzy will have forgotten all about it now at least, you on the other hand will always remember!

bigcar - hope the cleaning went well. i seem to be constantly tidying and cleaning but it still looks a mess! and am totally sick of the wash basket always being full!!

naat - pleased you have decided to move out anyway, there's only so much you can all take of it. hope the smear went ok, i have mine of friday, not looking forward to it AT ALL!

Haven't got any plans for today so will see what comes up! dh was up in the night being sick though so he will probably be moping around all day, bless him!!

have good days everyone

Naat · 03/11/2009 11:13

Morning ladies!

Lyyn, urgh laundry is just never ending, isn't it? The smear test hurt a bit, and I felt a bit "off" for a few hours but nothing else. Hope DH feels better soon.

Mrsmc, hope you had a better night last night. Poor Aaliyah and her teething, Mila is chewing her dummy like mad these days, let's hope we see some teeth soon so that they feel better.

Skillbo, so sorry to hear about the choking incident, poor you ((hug)) As Llynn said Jazzy won't remember so don't worry Ohhh I believe in karma so if they end up not paying financially they'll pay eventually anyway

Bigcar, hope Edward slept better last night, poor little mite. Lots of food staring here too

off to last round of jabs for now at 1.40, I pray she feels ok-ish but calpol is at hand if not

Hope you all have a good day!!

Waves!

June2009 · 03/11/2009 12:45

heya
naat Calypso had her last set of jabs yesterday.
Glad that's over for a while anyway.
She cried a little bit when the nurse put the serynge in put but nothing compared to the times before.
Then she was a bit off, on and off, all afternoon, not wanting to feed very much, crying and sleeping.
She had a good night sleep and seemed better this morning, she woke up for her second feed at 12 but now she's fallen alseep again after only a few sips! (highly unusual)
I checked her temperature and she was fine, just tired I guess?

Naat · 03/11/2009 12:57

Oh, June, that's quite good then. The babies I've seen in the last few weeks that had their 3rd round of jabs were all with fever at night and really off, hence my fear of this lot Hope it's not too bad for this little one.

June2009 · 03/11/2009 17:16

naat I got worried today as she was very sleepy and only woke up around 1:30/2pm but she had her whole bottle then.
Now she's still not had her next bottle (was supposed to be around 3pm) and it's nearly time for her next one so she is kinda one bottle short ...
I'm sure it'll all right itself tomorrow!
Hope Mila is ok.
sorry i've not got time to catch up...

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 03/11/2009 18:11

Hello everyone.

Sorry it's been so long since my last post. All went a bit tits up at the end of last week when DS hd a horrible virus that we thought was swine flu.... DD has also had a nasty bug and has turned into croup so sounds as though she smokes 60 a day...

Anyway, DS is feeling loads better and we're off out tomorrow for the first time in 5 days (he has severe cabin fever) so feeling better all round..

Hope all is well. Going to catch up on all your news now

chocciedooby · 03/11/2009 22:09

Hi everyone.

Just a quickie so you know I am still around.

It was DS1's 6th birthday yesterday so was a bit hectic. 27 kids to party in soft play centre. All went well. So glad I didn't do it at home like I normally do. 6 yr old boys are wild .

bigcar · 04/11/2009 13:55

afternoon all

it's all gone very quiet round here [tumbleweed]

hope everyone's ok

waves to all!

Naat · 04/11/2009 17:34

Hi all!

It's really quiet indeed, Bigcar Hope you're well and that Edward has had better nights

Ineed, ohh hope the DC are getting better, I imagine how tired you'll be, poor you (hug).

Choccie, happy belated bday to our son Ohhh it was definitely better not to have 27 children at home The play centre was a good idea

June, Mila was really really sleepy yesterday after her jabs, but fortunately there was no fever. She woke up quite a lot during the night, 3 times but well, she was fine. Hope Calypso is all over them now

Hi to all the rest of the Juners!

Busy morning, the people from the construction company came to "reassess the problem" and I stood strong and didn't back down. They were both still insisting the problem was not that bad Sure, say that to the shoes and clothes I had to throw away... Anyway, I told them we were leaving soon anyway and that the council inspector would assess the problem and look at all the evidence and decide. Urgh on top of all they insisted the wall problem could not transfer to other surfaces even when I showed them a chair that has mould spots and that was never in contact with any of the walls Such useless people! And the woman from the construction company is 8 months pregnant! You'd think she'd be the one to understand our concern (I told her, btw )

Aaaaaaaaanyway, we're moving not this Sat but next and will pursue this issue but in a nice and mould-free flat I'm just hoping that karma acts soon and comes and kicks some ass

Right, off to IKEA in a while to buy some storage solutions to protect our things

Have a lovely evening, ladies!

June2009 · 04/11/2009 18:49

hey, just passing by,
did you see the new emoticon? .

naat Calypso is better today thanks.
She has started again being funny with food (I think it's teething as dentinox calms her down)
Good luck with the flat, good on ou or standing our ground and telling that woman what you thought.

soo rubbish at catching up, barely got time to shower these days :S

off for food, see ya!

llynnnn · 05/11/2009 07:18

morning all

ineed - hope you are enjoying your new found freedom again now that your dc are feeling better. must've been really hard with them both poorly, pleased they are feeling better

june & naat - pleased C and M is over their jabs now and hooray for no more until next summer! poor little things can have a rest from them now!!

naat - i'm sooo annoyed for you with all the probs you are having with this flat. can any of these people really expect/be happy with you all living with this mould especially now you have Mila!! grrrr!!

bigcar - hi!! it is definitely a lot quieter here than it used to be! these little babies are taking up far too much of our time!

choccie - the thought of having 27 children in my face makes me feel all funny!! you definitly did right with the soft play! pleased it went well

i'm going shopping this morning for firework party food, we are having a few relatives round tonight for fireworks etc. Hope Isobel isnt scared by all the bangs!

have good days everyone

ermintrude13 · 05/11/2009 10:01

Morning all

For those of you worrying about jabs, Arthur has had no reactions or side effects to any of them, even the 3rd ones.

Looks like we're all finding it hard to find time to catch up. I'm trying to finish a book and plan another and am going to have to cut back my MN (and emails etc!) time to get my head down and really sort my work out, otherwise my new agent is going to get annoyed with me . So I'll try to pop in from time to time but really need to use Arthur's sleeping hours to write.

Take care and have a good lead-up to the festive season xx

June2009 · 05/11/2009 10:16

Good luck wiht your writing Erm!
I know it's hard to find the time to do anything, especially when you need time to "get into it" (like I do). (Feel free to recommend a good book to read ;)
Is tonight fireworks night? We usually have bil and sil around and do some in the garden. They are mostly a rip off round here and I prefer the big displays, so will try and get dh to agree to go to one on Saturday!
choccie 27 kids!!
ineed hope you had a good day out!
bigcar am I the only one who doesn't see the new layout? I'm with you with the cleaning by the way, neverending and quite depressing at times. As soon as baby's head has hit the mattress I'm running around like a headless chicken trying to tidy everything up, I've been carrying way too much laundry in my arms in one go down the stairs.
I must admit that dh does a lot more round the house than he used to do pre-pg. (well, he takes the washed laundry to the tumble drier and puts the dirty plates in the sink...(not, mind, the glasses and the rest of the stuff that is left over on the table but hey, it's better than nothing and it is progress!).
I've had a major cach up at work this week and it's been exhausting. Still a bit to do yet so off I go!

louise where are you? hope everything is ok.

take care

Naat · 05/11/2009 11:03

Hi all!

June, glad to hear you've been able to catch up with work. I've decided to go back in January so these are the last 7 weeks of SAHM time It'll definitely be a challenge, as I hardly find free time now after doing everything around the flat + taking care of Mila Teething is still full on here...

Ermin, oh yes, nap time immediately turns into "let's do eeeeeverything NOW!" Hope you find plenty of time to write

Llynn, is nothing bonfire night? I'm always lost with British dates Have fun shopping! Yes, grrr at these people, shameless!

Does anyone know why the new emoticon is called biscuit? I don't see the connection

I do see the new layout but now since yesterday whenever I click on the latest post from our thread the first page pops out

Oh, we went to IKEA yesterday, that place is cursed! We went looking for exactly 3 things, we ended up spending 55 pounds!!! DH said we're not going back ever again OH! and I bought a pair of GAP socks to try and see if they worked and they do!!! My sweet but hyperactive donkey couldn't take them off!!! Definitely worth it

Quiet day here, packing + baby massage.

Hope you all have a nice day!!

Waves!!!

bigcar · 05/11/2009 13:22

afternoon all

naat, is to do with Gordon Browns visit to mn towers when the whole biscuitgate thing blew up It is bonfire/fireworks night, remember, remember the fifth of November, gunpowder, treason and plot....... and I can't remember any more Yep, Ikea, definitely cursed, same always happens when I go that's not mentioning the cheap breakfast if I manage to get there early enough! Good luck with the move

june, we live almost opposite a park that does a big display, so we'll be taking full advantage of it from the front bedroom window, has to be some perk to having the road closed for a few hours and all the parking restrictions! I'm trying to persuade E to have a sleep now, dd3 is at nursery so would be handy, he's having none of it!

erm, good luck with the book, do come and say hi whenever you can

llynnnn, I'm hoping to keep E in as much as possible, he doesn't like my mils dog barking so can't see him being keen on fireworks, ds1 still hates the noisy bangers.

E is still really unsettled in the evenings, definitely teeth, I can see one of his front ones almost through the gum at the bottom. I've also had rotten insomnia lately too, got up at 3am yesterday, just couldn't sleep. Couldn't go to bed early as spooks was back on, I watch far too much telly

waves to all

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 05/11/2009 21:51

Hi all you lovely Ladies,

Have not dropped in for a Verrrrrry long time (naughty naughty Doris )

I have been keeping up with some of you via FB but it's not really the same.

A turns 5 months tomrrow and I can't believe how fast it's gone, as she's my last I'm really trying to savour the baby stuff but I was getting 6-9mth vests out of the loft today (It's always the vests she seems to grow out of first oddly).

My memmory of my last pregnancy is so tied up with the support I had from this board and the frequent posts every time i had a false alarm.

A can now rollover and push herself up but then gets upset when she can't seem to get herself back. She can also do one end of the cot to another on her back with some weird bum legs shuffle, a skill I'm not sure how she'll put to good use in the future .

She's teething like mad aswell atm she had us up for 2 hours last night unsettled, and woudn't even settle in with us, However dd2 was teething for forever and was nearly 1 before her first pearly tooth appeared, so I'm not getting my hopes up that this is going to end anytime soon.

Have rediscovered the joys of MN this evening (had forgotten how much it can make me laugh) Will try to pop back soon and really catch up on how your all doing.

June- I don't know exactly what the eyebrow this you're talking about (I didn't go back that far) but A's eyebrow's go bright red when she's ben crying and screaming for a few minutes Please ignore if no at all what you described and I am too lazy to hunt for)

Night all off to catch up with a nice Girly book x

Naat · 06/11/2009 08:00

Hi all!

doris, so nice to hear from you. Welcome to the teething wagon Well done Annabelle for rolling and moving so groovily around the cot The thought of 7 more months with teething symptoms before the first tooth pops out is not a happy one

Bigcar, thanks for the reminder I knew the story (had to learn it when I came over ) but I never remember the exact date. I think it all comes down to the fact that back home whenever you're celebrating a special date we have bank holidays sooooo it's much easier to remember the dates, as you're looking forward to them Here when you have bank holidays you don't necessarily celebrate something specific so it always confuses me (at least that's what I've been told when I've asked British friends "so, what are you celebrating today due to the BH?" and they all shrug )

Rough night here... teething is creating havoc at the Argie's home. Mila was up 4 times! She manically chewed her dummy and was quite unsettled, she didn't even settle with us, as Doris said She has also started biting me Any tips to deal with this???

Crappy night and after a shower I feel all normal but I'm sure come 4pm I'll turn into a zombie We're having lunch with a friend and her baby AND it's Friday so that's something to smile about

Hope you all have a lovely day!

Waves!!!

Naat · 06/11/2009 08:19

Hi again

I've uploaded some pics today

chocciedooby · 06/11/2009 11:21

Naat - Mila is beautiful

I'm like you June - I just don't get time for much at all right now. Even though my boys are in school until 1.25pm each day (I get 4 hrs mummy and baby time each morning), there is so much cleaning, ironing, shopping, etc to do and fitting in Elinas feeds etc. The 4 hrs fly and then I have to go get the boys again for the rest of the day. They are normally wrecked after school and spend the afternoons lately wrecking my head .

Off to get my shower now. Elina still sleeping. Have my old au pair coming for a visit today so have to get moving.

Love to you all.

xx

sam my mini pill got me depressed too (micronor)I took it for 3 months.
Well i don't know if depressed is the right word but I was definitely very very low with dark thoughts, low self esteem and crying. I'm now on femulen and the mood lifted straight away. micronor also made sil depressed, she is now taking "celeste".
It is worth trying another one.have a nice weekend!

we had a brilliant day, meeting up with some mums for coffee this morning and then baby rhyme time this afternoon, then the baby met mil and sil and they made her laugh very hard for a couple of hours.

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 06/11/2009 20:24

Strawberry -thank you so much for that link, it ties in so well with how Annabelle is during the day, small short feeds as her big sisters are MUCH more interesting and really good strong feeds at night, Bah still means too much up in the night tho'

Naat- She's gorgeous, but I'm sure you know that already!!

llynnnn · 07/11/2009 07:15

morning all

just a quick hello! Isobel is full of cold and coughing a lot, poor thing she slept pretty well last night though, only up a couple of times, so at least thats something! no sign of teething here at all! but dd1 didnt get her 1st tooth until she was 11months so wondering if I is following in her footsteps.

Isobel actually enjoyed the fireworks, she just stared at them in amazement! even the bangs didnt sem to phase her! can't wait to put the Christmas tree up, thing she will love the twinkling lights on there to

naat - i cant see your pics, but have seen some of fb and agree she is beautiful

doris - good to hear from you. i cant believe our tiny babies are coming up to 5months now! I'm with you in wanting I to stay small forever!

hi to everyone else
