We'd try it with ds if we thought he'd keep his mouth shut! The amount of times we've been tempted to pretend that he is a large, precocious 3 year old....

I am SOOOOO looking forward to Saturday. Are Mr CSWS and my DH going to be the only fellas? If so I suspect they are going to love that, as I recall Mr CSWS likes chatting to the girls as much as my DH. Yay!!!! I am going to make some cakes from 'the book' for M' actual birthday so I'll make triple and bring some along. I'm making cupcakes so anyone who has 'the book' feel free to make a suggestion....

star6 · 06/10/2009 19:38

I can't believe I'm not bf anymore. Q only drinks oatmilk from a sippy cup. BUT, he does cuddle with me A LOT more now. He cuddles instead of bf, so I enjoy the extra closeness. My breasts hurt like crazy today, though. owwww.

I'm HOPING DH won't come
This is like one big Oct 08 postnatal group 1st birthday party! I can't wait to meet more people and see csws again - and meet your beautiful DD!

50ftQueenie · 06/10/2009 19:50

I remember the painful breasts Star, it doesn't take long to improve. How are you feeling about it? It must help that Q isn't making it too traumatic for you. I can understand you hoping that your DH isn't coming. You'll probably relax a lot lot more without him there considering how things have been over the past few months. Nothing wrong with wanting your own space. I need my Dh to come as I can''t drive and anyway, he is excellent at entertaining the kids while we chat!

Awww I really want Bradley to just rescue poor Stacey.

Ooops.I have no idea why that happened!

Honeymoonmummy · 06/10/2009 19:53

Hey all, not read properly as am rushing to get stuff ready for tmrw, just to let u know I've put fancy dress pics on FB. Taking dad to hosp for colonoscopy tmrw so PIL having Pops all day. Fingers crossed they find nothing. Speak properly tmrw.

50ftQueenie · 06/10/2009 19:59

Good luck for tomorrow Honeymoon Grandad.

aubergenie · 06/10/2009 20:04

Evening ladies - Can I ask you wise women a question please. Dp went to some nutrition thing at one of the children's centres today and the nutritionist (who otherwise gave some useful suggestions) said that babies shouldn't have breast milk at night as it rots their teeth. That's not true is it? I thought there was something about having a bottle that can cause teeth to rot but that bfing was fine. Can anyone confirm or deny?

jenwa · 06/10/2009 20:06

star just wanted to say I would take sat nav out car as heard about alot of people who do steal them especially when you are parked somewhere as they can take them and re trace back to your address knowing you are out IUSWIM?

ALl ok here, P has been grotty and her top tooth has come through, she had an awful nappy this am 3AM!!!!! DH went into her as she was crying and he picked her up and she had pooed everywhere and it went on dh but for P! She been unhappy today and very clingy!

DH just gone to ikea to get some more bits for kitchen as quiter at night although wish I was there but mum was going to babysit but she poorly so cant, never mind, will save money me being home

CantSleepWontSleep · 06/10/2009 20:20

Aubergenie - bm is sweet so theoretically could rot teeth I suppose, but I think it's unlikely. Bottles cause more rot because of the angle that the milk goes onto them or something. Until only a few months ago dd had bm last thing at night, after cleaning her teeth, and the dentist is perfectly happy with the state of them.

MM - I am hoping to find time to make the coconut cake again, and some of the vanilla cupcakes - either the white rabbits or the american vanilla ones, so maybe you could do something chocolatey - the chocolate full stops perhaps - they sound yum.
Do you have any idea what time you're hoping to arrive btw?

Both dc in bed, and now waiting for Ocado to deliver whilst watching crap, MNing and trying to list stuff on ebay.

Good luck for colonoscopy hmm.

Thank you CSWS and Pistachio - I looked in the archives and you're right - apparently the water doesn't pool in the mouth when bfing in the same way as with a bottle.

Hope it all goes well tomorrow HMM.

pepper - I've got a Maclaren Triumph but our raincover definitely doesn't have slits in it. How odd.

pepperrabbit · 06/10/2009 21:18

perhaps they meant expressed bm in a bottle?
Found cheaper raincover on an ebay shop so hopefully I could return it if it comes with slits this time
J perked up this afternoon, and we popped round to my friends, she's just started a jewellery/handbag/lovely things business and wanted our opinions. i accidentally bought a lovely new handbag......
Took in DS2's school application today how did he get to be so big?
Has anyone been called for the next set of jabs yet? I seem to remember there's some around 12/13 months?

CantSleepWontSleep · 06/10/2009 21:37

I got a call for D's through yesterday pepper, asking me to book an appt for next week (but I'm not going to until his cold has improved). It's hib men c booster iirc.
I'd forgotten about these ones, and was thinking that mmr would be the next, which I think is around 13/14 months.

Right, dd's packed lunch is made. Breakfast is planned (always a difficult meal because my dc don't seem to want to eat at breakfast time), stuff is out ready to prep and bung in slow cooker to make lunch for ds and I (curried parsnip soup), snacks for ds next to handbag (going to lll meeting straight from dropping dd at school), so I think it might be time to go to bed.
Forgot to get dd's clothes out though, which is annoying, as it will lead to discussion and her wanting a choice in the morning .

That is very organised CSWS

I can come to your house to play on Saturday. Yipee. Dh is doing the running around.
Please dont ask me to bake however I am a very good taster

Star you can get one done your self. He doesnt even need to know you are doing it I think. New law just come in this year.

star6 · 07/10/2009 08:24

We'll all plan to arrive at 5.30am csws, you'll be up then anyway, right?

KSal · 07/10/2009 10:29

CSWS I will come whenever is most convenient! What would you like me to bring - something savoury? I will be DH-less too, he confirmed yesterday that he is going away for work for a week.... tomorrow night. Nothing like notice... good thing my work are flexible!!

re the jabs, Emma had all hers last week. It was supposed to be for the two boosters as CSWS says but they offered me the option of having MMR at the same time or coming back in a month. They said that for Emma the reaction wouldn't be any worse having 3 so i went for it... figured i would get all the trauma out of the way in one go (for her and me!).

star6 · 07/10/2009 11:08

oh no... I can't possibly bake or cook - too much pressure (and I'm not good at it). But I will be depending on Marks and Spencer for something delicious to share. Sorry in advance for lack of domesticity on my part...

Ksal I just rang for Q's jabs. They said I couldn't have all 3 in one day. I was annoyed. Said I "know" someone who is doing this and she said "well, it's not done". I would much rather go for ONE appointment rather than 2 and get the trauma over with all at once, like you say! Perhaps when I go in for this one in a couple of weeks, I can persuade the nurse to give him the other as well.
