how funny that they won't let you do it.. i guess that is just another example of the differences between health authorities... although when they did it the nurse did say it was becasue they were in the process of changing the schedule. You never know when you get there they might have changed their minds anyway!!

pistachio... for that i would have to check the schedule as i don't know about PCV specifically... it all gets a bit beyond me! I do know that this is her done until her pre-school stuff when she is 3. I couldn't believe the number of jabs when i first saw the list!!

Hey all, colonoscopy went well, they think very unlikely to be cancer but they've done biopsy just to be safe.

What should I buy bring food-wise CSWS? Or shall I provide some drinks??

Honeymoonmummy · 07/10/2009 16:25

Oh and how many of us are there now coming?

50ftQueenie · 07/10/2009 17:28

Anyone who's anyone is attending Hmm.

Ha ha ha ha! M is 'reading' ds's school book. She is turning pages and every time she turns one she is saying 'baba baba baba' then turns to another then 'baba baba baba'. Ooops, must go and rescue it. Back with something more substantial later....

CantSleepWontSleep · 07/10/2009 17:34

Ladies please don't all feel the need to bring something just because mm said she would!
Star - if you want to and since you mentioned M&S, perhaps you could pick up some of their traditional coleslaw, because it's both dairy free and yummy!
Hmm - some drinks would be good if people want anything out of the ordinary - we have hot drinks and cherryade (my strange liking) and squash, but if people want juice then that would be a good thing to bring.
And if anyone else wants to pick something up, then maybe some nice bread - but don't all bring bread!

I am planning on making: Blueberry cordial, chocolate dots and rosewater fairy cakes (or whatever they're called). I am only doing it because I am making cakes for M's party anyway so may as well make double & bring them along. I also love love love baking (as you will note from my corpulence ) so it is a treat for me.

50ftQueenie · 07/10/2009 18:41

All you lovely ladies who have been suffering from PND, have you seen this article? I am personally a big believer in using diet to remedy certain mental illnesses.

star6 · 07/10/2009 20:13

So when is everyone arriving? Would it be too late to arrive at 2pm? I think it's only 1hr 10min from me...

ronshar · 07/10/2009 20:55

Thats brave ksal. I hope Emma is all ok.
I am trying to space them out as far apart as possible! As W is a boy and has allergies I am being extra careful with the jabs.

I am with Star on the cant cook, so avoid the cooking. I am more than happy to bring the bread. I shall call in at the baker on the way.
I will be leaving straight from dropping H at gymnastics at 9am. So should arrive by 11ish.

I'm trying to decide how t play DDs jabs. had my fingers burnt with DS2 when he developed pneumonia (and was hospitalised) exactly a week after the pneumoccocal jab they're all about to have.
Of course, these 2 events are completely medically unconnected apparently.... because the virus in jabs is inert (?).
Ds2 has his pre-school boosters next week as well, so I need to check what they are.
They just treated me like an idiot for even suggesting a connection last time.

ronshar · 07/10/2009 21:33

Pepper, same here when W was ill for ages after his second set of jabs. I didnt take him back for his third set until July. It now means his booster will be really late. Oh well.

I am watching Criminal Justice on BBC1. How sad it is making me cry.

50ftQueenie · 07/10/2009 21:40

Evening.

We will be leaving for CSWS's straight after DS's football training (if they over run again we'll remove DS from the pitch anyway!) so should be there at between 12 & 1 depending on the traffic.

I am not sure what to do about the MMR with M. DS didn't have it and I tasked DH with sorting out the single jabs as it was him that insisted that he didn't have it. He never got round to it despite me researching etc and ds got measles earlier this year. Luckily for us DS is super human and got over it in 3 days and nobody else at his school got it (phew!). He's already had rubella, so we'll get him the mumps jab when he's a bit older (and less of a wuss). But the MMR is allegedly safer for girls so M will probably have it. We haven't had any letters yet about jabs.

Hurrah for Honeymoon Grandad's colonoscopy. That is positive news. It must be a relief (although I bet your dad won't relax until the biopsy results are back).

Pistachio - I went to see a nutritionist after I had DS and we had a long chat about nutrition and mental health. Her son was schizophrenic and she was very unhappy about him being pumped with chemicals as she believed that it could be treated with nutrition. She also told me that ME is essentially a total depletion of vitamins, minerals etc and can be treated with supplements and diet. She was very interesting.

Poor ds2 Pepper. The same thing happened to my friend's little boy, he was very very sick.

I am sooooo looking forward to tomorrow. I am making M's proper big birthday cake too. DH is dropping me off at Sainsbury's first thing to get ingredients and other lovely cake related things. [dances a dance of joy]

Technically the MMR would be most effective at around 9 months. However no one will push for a lowering of the age because it is difficult enough to get scared parents in for vaccinations, against the majority evidence in favour of vaccinations.
It would be nice if the health professionals took us seriously when we report side effects from the jabs. Especially when our babies end up in hospital.
I would still get my children vaccinated though.

RachieW · 07/10/2009 22:15

Evening all. HMM really good news about your Dad

Star we leave our sat nav in the car because we are stupid. This is despite the fact that our last one got nicked when dh left the car open all night This was the week he was on jury service.. a tad ironic. As I said we are stupid and haven't learnt from our mistakes but slightly in my defence I know if I take it out it won't be there when I need it.

Bad day here today, J has been throwing up all afternoon but seems bright enough when he isn't. Took him to the docs and they said it's a virus. He's asleep now so hoping he's over it. Dh is taking tomo off to have him and then if he's no better I'll take fri off. I guess this is where the work/ill child negotiations begin.

KSal glad the jabs are over. I've booked J's next ones for the week after his birthday. MM I'm going to give J the MMR as the research didn't convince and I'm more worried about him getting measles from nursery. My friend is looking for the single ones for her ds though.

RachieW · 07/10/2009 22:20

In case I don't get on tomorrow. Happy Birthday W

ronshar · 07/10/2009 22:38

Poor baby boy, I hope he feel better soon.

I am wrapping pressies and writing cards. This time last year I was getting my first twinge in my nether regions 4 hours later out popped W. Wonderful.

Honeymoonmummy · 07/10/2009 22:49

Aww poor J, I hope he feels better soon x

Ha ha Ronshar! My labour was only 32 hours longer than yours!!!

CSWS, DH wants to come but he has an ofsted inspection coming up within a few weeks as well as his internal inspection (internal college inspection, that is, as opposed to my dad's internal inspection ) next week so he wants us to get at least part-way home on Sat so he can work on Sunday.

So I'm sorry to mess you about but I no longer require your lovely spare room, I've just booked a holiday inn express halfway home. Hope that doesn't put you out too much and I appreciate the offer.

I'm just trying to decide on nurseries, we're down to a final 3. We're going to see one of them again tomorrow then we need to go see the original choice, which is one of the three, then make a final decision...

OH yeah, you reminded me Pistachio - is there a good website link anyone has on the 13 month jabs/ MMR etc? Can you pay privately to get them done seperately and is it considered toi be as effective/ safe? (I could just google it but it's easier to ask you lot )
