Star - M is definitely waking up hungry as she has a huge feed in the night. But then she is rubbish at eating in the day. M has been throwing wobblers since she was about 10 months old. She screams every time ds takes something from her or if she doesn't get her own way. Not sure about the biting. I wouldn't have thought that at this age they could be vindictive and bite on purpose, but who knows!

Oh dear Myjob - Monday should be interesting as M is the same. I bet there will be fights. M managed to fight with CSWS's D and he is the mellowest baby I've met!

Well done Emma! And yes, she is the second girl to walk.

50ftQueenie · 19/10/2009 20:24

Oh and she is ravenous in the morning too! She normally asks for more milk so we whisk her downstairs for breakfast as quickly as possible.

Naps - M has a nap mid-morning for between 35mins & 1.5 hours. She sometimes has a nap in her push chair or the car later in the day.

star6 · 19/10/2009 20:25

I didn't mean that that all of our babies aren't hungry in the night anymore. I was using what I thought about Q's behaviour and applying it to all babies at his age/on our thread . Sorry for that.

Q does wake in the morning hungry, for sure. he wants breakfast within an hour of getting up.

50ftQueenie · 19/10/2009 20:29

I wasn't being grumpy Star. Sorry if I came across that way! M feeds like she's not had any food for days when she wakes in the night!

star6 · 19/10/2009 20:31

no, not grumpy... I just realized that I was making a mass generalization there.

star6 · 19/10/2009 20:32

sorry, forgot where I live now
realised
Is it generalisation, then, too?

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/10/2009 20:42

No star, I don't think that a long nap means that there's anything wrong at all. A friend of dd's was like that too. And iirc someone on my first postnatal thread on here had a baby who slept virtually the whole time too.

I decided to get me a Halloween name. What do you think?

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/10/2009 21:52

I think that you can call yourself whatever you like - you'll still always be MM to me!

What a pap reason to not have ANTM next week MM .

Wanted to send you sympathetic hugs earlier this afternoon pistachio, when ds woke. Do you prefer to have them go to bed late and get up late? I know that i moan about my early mornings, but I do enjoy having some evening time to myself, which is something that I always struggled to get with dd.

Urg! I am accidentally wathcing Graham Norton and Katie Price is an absolutely minger! She looks like Amy Winehouse with footballs stuck to her chest. Her mouth looks awful. Dh also said, Oh what a DOG!

50ftQueeniefromtheblacklagoon · 19/10/2009 22:48

I wasn't allowed to watch ANTM as DH wanted to watch Flash Forward. What was the reason? Is there a marathon load of old bollocks fake ghosts in an old house thingy on for Halloween?

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/10/2009 23:14

how did you guess?

OP posts:
Honeymoonmummy · 20/10/2009 01:15

Oh Flash Forward is ACE! I love it. Only watched last weeks tonight as watching Design for Life final on 2 so am gonna catch up online. There was some good telly on tonight, meet the haselhoffs has finished which is a shame as it was funny.

I too flicked over and saw Katie Price, didn't she look RIDICULOUS??

I was gonna ask about naps too but kept forgetting. Poppy only tends to have one nap a day, usually in the morning, approx 1.5 hours. The nursery said they'll follow her routine but most of the babies nap after lunch so I'm not sure whether to try keeping her awake now or go with the flow and see if it develops - I think post-lunch nap is a natural progression at some point??

Well done on walking/ nearly walking babies! I haven't put any footwear on Poppy at all with limited exceptions, I'm not sure what counts as acceptable footwear at this stage and didn't want to spend a fortune on it TBH until I had to Can you get "cruisers" anywhere or do you have to go to Clarks for them?

Poppy's a bit of a drama queen too, esp on the change mat when she can't get up to explore. She's not biting yet though.

I can't sleep BTW, hence 1am post Two weeks today since I started higher dose of AD's and I'm still a moody cow

Honeymoonmummy · 20/10/2009 01:26

Eek have just seen this I KNEW whatever I did would be the bloody wrong decision (I didn't eat peanuts during PG or since and Poppy hasn't had any) What's the best way to introduce them now? Does anyone know or have you seen a MN chat about this recently?

aubergenie · 20/10/2009 06:52

We started with a little bit of peanut butter on toast and just kept an eye HMM. Have you got a reason to think that P is likely to have an allergy?

Star - for the long naps. I think S is moving towards one nap a day, but it's still a bit hit and miss. He now usually naps for around an hour, which is an improvement, and I think he's getting more tired the more running around he's doing so hopefully they'll get longer.

Pistachio - that you're feeling so worn out. Could your dh do a couple of the nights for you and give you a chance to rest?

Re the night feeds - I'm still mostly not feeding him at night and he doesn't seem to be hungry till around 5.30. We have water on hand for him in case he's thirsty. He still wakes up for a cuddle far more than I'd like though. I was up for more an hour with him last night but he didn't ask for milk at all.

Star - I wish I could throw a sickie and come with you all tomorrow! Alas, I feel guilty enough for only working part time (no idea why, as they only pay me for part time) that I'd have an awful day.

star6 · 20/10/2009 08:17

interesting.... recently was talking with someone who works for a charity bringing loads of food into a country in Africa and it had peanuts.... I said, but what about peanut allergies? He said, "they don't have that problem"
I read recently as well that it is thought that the reason we have so many allergies...etc is because of all of the processed crap food and additives that people eat (when pg, bf or as kids)
Just interesting...

star6 · 20/10/2009 08:17

myjob - I'm on my way soon!!! Waiting for my phone to charge, have to change Q's nappy, pack his bag and then we're on our way

KSal · 20/10/2009 08:37

errr, Emma has one nap a day for a maximum of an hour in the afternoon. When she's at nursery she'll only sleep for about half an hour most days (too much fun to be had, i think)

CSWS, i was kind of aware about the shoes, but when i asked in the shop they said that if she looked comfortable walking in them it would be ok... and she seems fine in them, but it sounds like i got duff advice. I mainly bought them for walking outside now in the cold and wet and she's only had them on twice since we bought them... also want to have them in reserve for holiday.

She's been in babyshocks for nursery for a while now because they are nice and grippy but not rigid.

I guess i will just have to use them in moderation for a while.

HMM thanks for that peanut link - I have avoided them too due to family allergies. As I'm still BF I think I'll start to eat them first and watch BabyG for any signs, then maybe a bit of smooth PB in about 10 years

ronshar · 20/10/2009 11:51

It is tomorrow isnt it, the BW food/shopathon??
CSWS that you think I am weak but it is made up by your slim comment
Star I will have a whole brownie just to test obviously. The get another one to share with you

I didnt eat any nuts with DD1 , she has nut allergy.
Filled my face with DD2 & W not a problem with either of them. Just my experience.

I cant remember who asked but if your baby is developing normally and doesnt have any underlying health problems the MMR is perfectly safe. If you are worried delay until after christmas and make sure baby hasnt had a bug in the 2 weeks previous.

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/10/2009 13:00

I avoided peanuts with dd but not with ds. Both are fine with them.

Yes it's tomorrow ronshar!
