Oh gosh myjob - what a terrible drama. Hope that she is back to full strength very soon.

Happy birthday aubergenie. It's nice to be reminded that I'm not as old as ronshar made me feel . On a serious note, would you recommend having a baby at 40?

Well D's rash is much more noticeable today. Still no idea what it is. Did Martha get any symptoms at all to go with her rash in the end MM?

crikey myjobm, that sounds really scarey... thank god you had someone to help you out. fingers crossed little N makes a speedy recovery.

It does seem like all the babies are coming down with winter nasties

40 is the new 30
So that must mean that 30 is the new 20

That sounds awful myjob So sorry for poor little N and you! Nice that your mom is there to help out. You and N both need lots of rest.

star6 · 16/10/2009 13:33

Following that logic, myjob would be a teen mum sorry, shouldn't joke with myjob when she's ill...

CantSleepWontSleep · 16/10/2009 13:41

Scary night, Myjob. Thank heavens your mum was there to help you out. I hope things improve soon.

CSWS - Yes I would definitely recommend having a baby at 40. Obviously not having had a baby at a younger age, I've got nothing to compare it to, but I don't think anything's been more difficult for me than for any of the younger mums I know. I was expecting it to take ages for me to conceive but it didn't (I had a miscarriage first time round and of course that could happen to anyone but then I got pregnant again straight away.) Yes, I've been knackered but I think that is mostly to do with the fact that I got a particularly bad sleeper, rather than my age. Physically I've got back into shape reasonably well (not that I was especially in shape beforehand!). I was expecting it to be a bigger deal with the medical staff but no-one referred to it at all. As long as you're healthy already, I wouldn't let your age put you off. For me it was the right thing to do. I've had a full and interesting life, done lots of different things and I've travelled a lot so I feel very happy for things to be quieter and settled without feeling like I'm missing out, which might have been the case if I'd done it younger. If it's a factor for you deciding whether to go for number three, I'd say that it's not a bit deal at all.

aubergenie · 16/10/2009 13:54

Star - you've been really making me laugh over the last few days.

Where is everyone??
50ft is probably out in her "tramp" outfit somewhere near DS' school trying to get some friday night action

star6 · 16/10/2009 21:23

Right, something just happened that I am very about... but you will all flame me for it, so I'm not going to post it. just

But, I want to try out a Halloween smiley.

I especially like how envy and angry become hangry and henvy. The others aren't so cool because they start with consonants. I'm such a lame nerd.

CantSleepWontSleep · 16/10/2009 21:32

Aww tell us anyway star. Flaming will be great as witches .

I've been wasting time reading ronshar's chat with gordon .
And will be off to watch an episode of house shortly.

ummm well, I ummm just was uhhh intimate with DH under the premise that he would withdraw and he waited quite a while and ummmmmm it was really close. I think it's ok. But I don't like it to be that close iyswim.

Off to read this Gordon chat!
