Star - No he is just a twat he's not an American. They have lived there about 18 months now so not that long. He also goes on and on and on about their house, because you get more house for your money out there. Our house is pretty big as it is Edwardian but oh no, their house is bigger, their house is twice the size of ours, their house has a massive garden. Grrrrrr! I do love my SIL but she has married an idiot. I wonder if that is why she hasn't made any plans to start a family yet.

Yup Ekka. Sounds like my M. SHe is a bit tired this afternoon so didn't want to play with DH, she had to come and get me to play too. She's a funny little thing!

Ronshar - What you have said has been very helpful to me, plus I saw a Mito in the flesh earlier and couldn't have one of those with three dc....... baby or car or baby or car or baby or car......

star6 · 13/10/2009 16:44

Financially is a very top reason for us, Ekka (after trauma of childbirth of course), so I certainly won't flame you.
I was talking about your adorable DD the other day can't wait for Q to reach that age!

50ftQueenie · 13/10/2009 16:55

I loved ds the most from this age up until he went to school (obviously he is still fabulous but once they are at school you lose a bit of the control and they develop more free will ). DH like him more now as from the age of 1 up until about 3 ds really disliked dh. It was very tiring for me and upsetting for dh. M seems to like us both so hopefully it won't be the same this time.

CantSleepWontSleep · 13/10/2009 18:17

We are taking financial considerations into account too Ekka. It's hard to get into a decent state secondary school because we live so far from them all, and they are of course all oversubscribed, but private school fees for 3 is a heck of a lot of money!

dd didn't see much of dh when she was little, because of him working away, so was very much a mummy's girl. Ds is happy with dh most of the time, although he hasn't had anyone but me settle him in the night yet.

I might be able to do Bluewater if it is next Wednesday. Would have to fit it in between the school runs at each end of the day (don't have a spare car seat so if I take dd then I also have to pick her up).

Oh poor N! And ouch for the face injury. It is so hard to find the right time to do these things isn't it? They're always either ill, or over-tired or injured! Hope she feels better soon, M made a miraculous recovery after her sleepy ill day yesterday.

Ok, Wednesday should be fine, but I will have to check with DH as I refuse to get the bus home from BW! Star - If I had your figure I would be even worse, only I would be spending too much money on myself!

Hope you can come CSWS. You'll get very bored of me soon.

We had parents evening tonight and it is the first time we have met ds's year 2 teacher. Oh I didn't like her at all. She 'opened' by telling us that ds is very quiet and won't offer opinions etc and that he does work fast enough. Then pretty much left it at that. Great, just negatives then eh? He's the second youngest in the class and in the top group ffs. How about some positive feedback? I asked her what she expected from us as, to be fair, it isn't something that we can really do anything about. She said to have a word with him and then went on to say her son is the same and she hasn't managed to get him to change. So if she can't help her own son.......what does she want us to do about ds?! Do any of you lovely teachers have any ideas about how to tackle this?

Oh poor little lamb. It makes you feel a bit sick just thinking about it doesn't it?

CantSleepWontSleep · 13/10/2009 21:09

Poor N.

Honeymoonmummy · 13/10/2009 21:22

Oh no, poor N MyJob. Saw your post about waiting for a few weeks after I replied earlier! Sounds like a good idea

I can't even contemplate getting started on number 2 yet, altho I really want to. Part of me just thinks sod it, I'll just go for it, my hormones were great when I was PG last time.

I've had a shitty day today from a PND moody point of view, really shitty. DH and I aren't speaking. He's getting sick of my mood swings and I can't say I blame him.

Star, I'm made up for you resolving that issue with your DH, what a horrible thing to say just after you'd given birth!! I hope the counselling continues to go well, but don't forget to talk about yourself as well as your relationship!

Nowt wrong with being quiet 50ft, someone has to be!

[HMM goes off to find Bluewater on the map]

Honeymoonmummy · 13/10/2009 21:25

Hmm... 3.5 to 4 hours on the train...maybe not...

Honeymoonmummy · 13/10/2009 21:26

Oh CSWS I forgot, we use the same thermometer as 50ft, does the job, might not be "techie" enough for you though...

Honeymoonmummy · 13/10/2009 21:33

Oh I know what I meant to say... [HMM hogs the thread] It was interesting the other day at CSWS's to watch how much you all watch over your LO's. We are with her 24-7 unless she's in a cot or briefly in her highchair. TBH DH is worse than me, I would have been happy to let her crawl round the lawn at CSWS's but he wanted to follow her round, he does worry.

It was also quite apparent from this which ones of us were over anxious first time mums! I think I'm gonna start loosening the strings a bit and persuade DH to do the same...

jenwa · 13/10/2009 21:36

Hi all
Sorry been so busy recently and sooo tired too!

ronshar yes its a day case patient I think and I dont know how much it will improve my hearing any more than the hearing aids do although they seem to be very good and there is no hassle of having to put them in and out although you do have to have them replaced about every 5yrs for the battery so not sure I want my head re opened for that [[http://www.otologics.com/advantage.htm this] is the webiste with the info on them.

Kitchen is fab still got tiling and some little jobs to do but it looks great. We were going to have it extened as in a terrace house so its long and narrow (although not that long) but too much money and mess! Its lovely though and lots of storage. star you would love my drawer storage system for cutlery and tuperware

I am soooo tired now I have just read back on the last few pages! at mrcsws, really, I hope csws was not drowned!
star glad you having hte counselling and hope it makes things better for you.
myjob sorry N is poorly and had a nasty bump too. I think P is in for lots at the mo, she has started walking and now has become really clingy and cries when I leave the room and tries to follow me and pulls up on my legs all the time, it is tiring at times as everytime I am doing something she is pulling up on me, its not like she wants to be picked up just pulling herself up and being by me.

Tired now so off to bed in mo.

jenwa · 13/10/2009 21:37

evening all, just a quickie as off to bed with my still stinking cold in a mo..
Had DD weighed today as we were at the docs for DS2s jabs at the same time as the clinic was on.
Ahem, she seems to have put on 2 lbs 2oz - in 6 months . The HV gave me that look. She's fallen from bang on 50th centile (yes, yes, I know about centiles..) to maybe 15th?.
As a 3rd time mum (), I gave her that look too, and said "we'll I'm not worried,(pause) are you?"
"Oh no Mrs Pepperrabbit, she seems fine.."
Now that I have escaped her clutches, I'm thinking 2lbs in 6 months is a bit pants really?

Thanks Pistachio, it's really good to know someone knows what I'm feeling My DH is great too and I know he's not going anywhere but he threatened to leave earlier in the heat of the moment (I'd just told him to shut the f up or f off for telling me to go and have a rest while he fed Poppy ) I know he wouldn't, but it takes a lot to get him upset enough to say something like that...

Thanks to you too MyJob

Pepper, I am more shocked that your HV calls you Mrs Pepperrabbit than I am about the weight!

Honeymoonmummy · 13/10/2009 21:56

Oh and Pepper, I think a few of us have had not much weight gain recently, given that they're all pretty active now, i wouldn't worry too much. One of the HV's told me they're changing the chart in the red book to be BF centiles rather than FF.
