Hello Pepper. M has put on 15 oz in three months and dropped from the 75th to the 50th. I can see she's got a bit thinner from all her crawling around, especially when I am fighting to keep her lying down to change her nappy!

Hmm - I too am convinced I had PND with ds and am starting to wonder if maybe I had a touch of it this time round too. Over the past few months I have noticed a real difference in my mood and have snapped at dh far less. I was hideous to DH when ds was tiny. I am a lucky one too, DH is fabulous but he's had his moments of suggesting he should go & stay at my Mum's (yes, my mum's not his). Oh I think my red book is breast-fed from birth, I noticed that when I first got it. It's funny you should mention about the following the babies around. DH commented on how Ronshar seemed to have a very similar parenting style to us, ie, let them get on with it. We were the same with ds and he's turned out jst fine. In fact his only serious injury was in the care of the MIL, which is partly why M is never round there..........

Jenwa - It is a big decision to make and I totally agree about having your head opened every five years! Ouch! Hurrah for P walking. I think she might be the first properly walking girl. M is a fraud, she's only managed a few steps.

CantSleepWontSleep · 13/10/2009 22:21

Sorry you're still feeling so low hmm. Dh and I shout at each other and threaten to leave/kick him out quite regularly . But not for him offering to do something useful whilst I have a rest - that would never actually happen in the first place .

Lol at your observations from Sat, that you could spot the neglectful 2nd or more time parents! Dd was always horribly clingy as a baby, except when she was out at groups in the company of other children, when she would go off and play without a backwards glance, so I take any opportunity that I can for them to play independently.

Need an earlier night tonight, as ds unsettled late evening yest, and then dh's alarm clock came on and woke me up (not even in same room!) at midnight just after I'd got to sleep . And then I had to feed around 1:30 and be up at 6:30.

Pistachio - DS was two stone for about 18 months up until 3.5 years. He ate and ate and ate & got taller, but he was soooooo skinny! In the morning he almost disappeared if he turned sideways but by the evening he had a little pot belly from all the food he'd stuffed in. In the last 2.5 years he's put on a stone. Not much is it?! He is still a skinny fella but he never sits still so it's no surprise.

Honeymoonmummy · 13/10/2009 22:30

50ft, LOVE that your DH would go to his MIL!

Jenwa, I missed that P was walking now - woo hoo! Go P!

Thanks CSWS, I've been on the new dose a week now, think doc expecting results within 1-2 weeks so it might be another drug change... I think the first drugs were actually better for my mood swings...shame about the insomnia

Just putting the photos from Sat on FB - shout up quickly if you don't like any of you and I'll delete them before anyone else sees them

CantSleepWontSleep · 13/10/2009 22:33

Well I hate almost all photos of me hmm, but I'll just keep my fingers crossed that yours are no worse than usual!

Yay for P walking jenwa. D still just doing a few steps here and there, but I do feel like we're getting closer.

Oh no!!!!! Hopefully not more pictures of me. I am so fat and un-photogenic!

Hmmm... It went all wonky there. Obviously a message that needs emphasising.

Are they all OK? I did try to get nice ones, I know I hate it if someone gets my triple chin on FB I've not tagged anyone unless they're in the forefront, so if you want to tag yourselves/ babies, please feel free!

50ftQueenie · 13/10/2009 22:45

I am happy with them Hmm. I am in one looking like a beached whale, but hey, I look like a beached whale in RL anyway! I LOVE the one of P with ds in the background crying like a big baby! Excellent!

Honeymoonmummy · 13/10/2009 22:49

Son of a ... I put comments on some of those photos (including Pretty Princess CSWS) but they've disappeared. Pah.

Honeymoonmummy · 13/10/2009 22:50

I can delete if you no likey...? You'll have to point out which one it is tho, I can't see a beached whale in any of my pics. I may just go and start a "beached whale" tag now tho.

Honeymoonmummy · 13/10/2009 22:58

Oh and 50ft, how you can say you're unphotogenic after that gorgeous shot of you and M... [looks sternly at 50ft over MyJob's shoulder]

50ftQueenie · 13/10/2009 23:10

It wasn't gorgeous of me though, only of M! I look old and wrinkly. [old and wrinkly emoticon]

Honeymoonmummy · 13/10/2009 23:26

Don't be silly, you're not that old...

I'm off to bed anyway so I don't get as wrinkly as 50 crows ft

aubergenie · 14/10/2009 07:21

Just dashing in quickly before I go off to work. We've stopped the night feeds (well for the last 2 nights anyway.) Dp has been in the bed and I've been on the sofa. The first night S was quite angry a few times but dp brought him into bed with him so he settled eventually. Last night, he woke 4 times but dp was able shhh him back to sleep till I fed him at 6!! I really hope this continues when I'm back in the room. Added to that, I actually feel human again and even managed to wear a nice dress for school yesterday.

Hmm - Sorry you're still having such a hard time. I don't think I've had PND but I know there are times recently when dp and I have really struggled. I think that first year with a new baby is a testing time for any relationship. It must be doubly hard when you've got PND to cope with as well.

50ft - at your ds's teacher. It sounds like he's doing really well despite being quiet. Does she mean he's quiet in a whole class situation, or also with his peers outside of the classroom? Will he interact with other children when they're working in a group? Also, did you mean to say that he didn't get started on his work quickly enough? Just wanted to find out more before I suggested anything.

at the new kitchen Jenwa and the clean oven Pistachio.

I was just about to type that I could make Bluewater next week then I realised that it?s not my half term till the week after. Gah. How disappointing!

star6 · 14/10/2009 08:25

50ft. How awful of that teacher!! and that you've not met her until now!!??? Is that quite common in British schools? In my school we all meet the parents and kids the day BEFORE school starts and talk with them all, introduce ourselves and have parents fill in a sheet that asks a few questions about their child....
It's just quite common sense to start out with at least something positive before you say anything that needs to be worked on.
I thought he was a lovely little boy. Very sweet.

HMM I think it is so common to struggle with dh with a new baby. Sorry you're not feeling so good lately

Congrats on dropping night feeds, aubergenie! It does make you feel like a new person, doesn't it?

I know that dh and I are very much people who follow Q around and worry over little things. We've been trying lately to not do that so much. I am ALWAYS telling Dh to let Q sort things out for himself instead of jumping in and doing it for him, but he rarely listens

I hope N is better this morning and the night was ok, myjob.

How far do you live from bluewater, 50ft?

50ftQueenie · 14/10/2009 08:44

Morning all.

Hmm - I am younger than you so you would say that I'm not that old!

Star - I am about 20 mins drive from BW but it is an hour's bus ride. DH has confirmed that he can pick me up and the bus ride up is normally ok because M often sleeps. Last time she shouted lots but luckily everyone thought she was cute. We met ds's year R teacher (who is LOVELY!) before he started school but you wouldn't normally meet the teacher unless something was wrong or you needed to speak to them about an issue. The teacher has a reputation as being a bit of a dragon so perhaps it's no surprise.

Aubergenie - It was the whole class situation she referring to. DS only offers opinions if he is asked directly and never puts his hand up. I explained that ds is a terrible perfectionist and is fearful of getting things wrong. He said he did answer a question recently and got it wrong, I asked him how that made him feel and he said very sad. She said she would bear it in mind, but if he didn't start contributing he would not fulfill his learning incentives(?). He is slow at getting his work started when they are doing work independently and gets distracted by others too easily. This is a problem we have been aware of since day 1 and have been trying to get him to write faster etc. She threatened him with detention unless he got his work finished and lo behold he got it finished almost immediately.

star6 · 14/10/2009 08:47

I will respond later 50ft re: ds

but I can drive you home from bluewater, if that's easier for your DH and you - 20 mins is no big deal Let me know - I'm happy to do it!

50ftQueenie · 14/10/2009 09:19

Ah but it will be 40 mins for you & Q. Thank you very much but DH really doesn't mind collecting me from BW, just as long as he doesn't have to go to the shops!

star6 · 14/10/2009 10:31

anyone seen the co-sleeping hoopla ridiculousness today?

CantSleepWontSleep · 14/10/2009 11:01

Don't know what to do with ourselves today - nothing at all planned for ds and myself for the rest of the day .

Well done for ditching night feeding aubergenie. Wish I could say the same! Although only once last night, at 5am.
