Evening ladies .
Thank you all so much for coming and for all the presents and food that you brought. D had a lovely day, as did we.
Don't worry about leaving without clearing up star - there really wasn't that much more to do than usual.
Those of you that left earlier missed D doing his 9 consecutive steps though! He must have been paying attention to Q .

Now catching up with X-Factor and a huge bag of star's tortilla chips!

Myjob, did it confirm your opinion that I am crazy

Pistachio, sounds like a fab party. How much wine did you need?

Star, that is the main reason why Mr Ronshar stays at home. We cant travel anywhere without having a disagreement. Imagine how our journey to south of France went. Did Mr Star enjoy his day or did we get on his nerves with talk of breasts all the time?

Rachie, poor you & J. Keep your fluids up and get loads of rest. Pesky virus. They are everywhere.

ronshar · 10/10/2009 21:11

Right thats it. So M did a show piece walk for the crowds. So did D. W couldnt even be bothered to say goodbye. His only skill and he didnt do it(stomps foot).
He did however do his standing up thing on the sofa and almost launched himself across the room!!!

I am watching Meet the Hasselhoffs. I recorded it in the week. Well funny.

star6 · 10/10/2009 21:16

lol ronshar. Yes, he thought everyone was lovely and that the babies were so cute. he usually thinks of mn as "weird" and doesn't get it at all, so now at least he can see these are real people and actually lovely people, too!

I hope you feel better Rachie and J.

myjob - listening to ronshar today talk about having 3 made dh and I even more firm in our thought that 1 is best .

O was such a cutie. He reminds me of the age group that I teach. What a lovely little boy. And csws' DD - so cute!! She's as cute as her photos if not cuter in person And I really LOVE her name. I am SO excited for that 2-3 year old age. Little personalities and talking... can't wait! BUT I am enjoying Q's baby-ness, too. Although I feel like he's lost a lot of that since he started walking

DH wants to take a trip to Ikea tomorrow . I told him HE is in charge of directions, then. I'll have nothing to do with it so he can only blame himself if we get lost.

star6 · 10/10/2009 21:19

Ronshar - I was really impressed with how W could stand up freely from any position without any support from an object or person... Q couldn't do this (consistently) until AFTER he started walking.

Well done to the steps from M and D!

CantSleepWontSleep · 10/10/2009 21:28

N would be the serene beauty in the middle with all the big babies hitting each other with toys around her!

I am at a bit of a loss as to how I am going to stop feeding W. Star gave some really great advice today. I shall be trying the dont offer approach. Not sure when to start as it means that me as a muumy to a baby will be over forever.

ronshar · 10/10/2009 22:20

I shall try.
I said three were bloody hard work.
Upset those poor ladies who were teetering on the edge of going for number three.
In a nut shell

jenwa · 10/10/2009 22:32

Hi All

50ft I am thinking about implants, just so many things to think about and its scary, need to research them and see how people are gettin gon as they are very new (the ones completely under the skin)

Glad you all had a lovely day, I was filling a skip and cleaning the house! WOuld have loved to be there so sorry never made it.

ronshar · 10/10/2009 22:54

Sorry love I had completely missed your bit about your results.
Now will the implants make a big difference to your hearing? If so then go for it. I have heard good reports about them but I dont actually know anyone with them.
Is it major surgery or day?
I saw some being implanted on House a few weeks ago if that helps
How is your kitchen coming along? Is it nearly finished?

Pistachio it didnt last long.
Seriously though. Three is wonderful but really hard work. I have big gaps so the older girls really help. However DD2 turned into a challenging nightmare and I just do not have time in each day to give as much attention to each child as I would like.

It really brought it home today when I watched those who have just one. It is amazing to see the focus on one child without the worry of what the others are doing. I remember having that with G but not with H and def not with W.

I feel sad that when G went to school she could read basic sentences, knew her letters and numbers. Poor H hasnt got anywhere near the same level of knowledge purely because I dont have the time to sit down with her.

I know of one mum who has four children. She refuses to do any homework with them. She has told the school that she has 4 and so it is unreasonable to expect her to do homework with them. Hideous.
At least I am not that bad a parent. I do try to read every day with them both. If not I get G to read to H Job done

CantSleepWontSleep · 11/10/2009 07:40

Yay - you all suitably wore out ds, as he slept through from 7:45pm - 6:30am .

WOW that must be his way of "giving back" on his birthday Congrats!

As a teacher I've seen lots of parent child interactions and when I step back and look at how dh and I are with Q I often feel so silly because we're so on top of him constantly. Over the past few weeks we've been working on letting him explore on his own a bit more. If we had a second child I'm sure it would be different. I really do love having just one, though

Ronshar - older child reading to the younger is something I often suggest to parents in my class who are struggling with finding time. It's so good for the younger one to see the older one valuing and enjoying reading and sharing it with him/her and good for the older one to practice fluency, expression and can talk about what they are reading together often more naturally than with an adult.

star6 · 11/10/2009 07:57

Pistachio - you look so awesome in that dress!!! It was made for you Looks like T had a wonderful day

myjob - N is a beautiful little girl with a lot of lovely skills! Q may be able to walk... but that's all he can do. We'll be working on the verbal stuff now test on friday

Hey all, just got back (sans moby). Thanks for yesterday CSWS! Please nobody put horrible pics of me on FB!!! Better go, Pops crying downstairs.

pepperrabbit · 11/10/2009 18:20

3 = bloody hard work. but i wouldn't be without any of them individually
We're nearly at 5yrs, 3yrs & 1yr, I do like symmetry!
I struggle with reading homework for DS1, goodness knows what'll happen when they all need help...

50ftQueenie · 11/10/2009 20:12

I'm go to find MamaG for another view of having three.........

RachieW · 11/10/2009 20:21

Pistachio- Lovely pics on fb. Agree with Star you look lovely in your dress. I love dd's dress too, so pretty. Sorry to hear that both of yours have been suffering too. I hope they get better soon. I spoke to another friend who's ds has been at Nursery for 6 months and she says he has had constant minor illnesses. One day their immune systems will build up I'm sure How is dd liking Nursery now, is she still happy? I'm going to say an early happy birthday to T now as well just in case I don't get on here tomorrow night

J seems so much better today, fingers, toes legs etc crossed. PIL came over and took him out for a few hours which was a really lovely break for him and us. He's also eaten some solids very hungrily which is the first time he's been interested for days. Just hoping he keeps it all in

CSWS Wow to D walking on his birthday. Did he just go for it? I've no idea how 'the walk' is going to happen. Pics on fb are lovely too, D is always such a happy looking baby.

HMM- Saw about your mob on fb, is Cannock anywhere near you? I have a feeling not.

Star- Have you survived Ikea? Hope so, I always find Sundays + Ikea + Dh = me wanting to bury him under a pile of flatpack Billy bookcases. Hope you had a better trip.

Am interested in all your next children chats too. I've always wanted 3 being one of 3 myself but personally feel I've left it a bit too late now as I'd quite like a gap of at least 3 years in between J and the next one. So I guess it will be 2, I hope, for me and Dh. I think I'll be more chilled with the next one like you are Pistachio. I keep thinking now that J as a newborn was really easy and I shouldn't have worried so much. But then something is always easier when you look back I suppose.

50ftQueenie · 11/10/2009 20:31

Right I've not seen her today but I've started a thread to ask her to come over here and tell us about having three.

Good evening ladies. Had a fabulous day yesterday, as always it is lovely to meet up with you and your gorgeous families. CSWS (& MrCSWS if you're lurking) thank you for being such fantastic hosts.

Pistachio - Looks like you had a lovely time at T's party. DD looked beautiful in that gorgeous dress.

Ronshar - You managed to put DH off having three, but not for long. He said tonight that once I can drive, if we still want to have a third, then he is up for it. M has been a nightmare today too! (He has had a beer though )

Thank you for your kind comments about ds. I thought he was anything but a cutie yesterday, he was being really irritating! I love how well he and CSWS's dd get on. M & D seem to get on pretty well too, D blew a raspberry on M's bottom in the bath!

pepperrabbit · 11/10/2009 20:35

Rachie - I've always wanted 3 and am very blessed to have had exactly what I wanted! BUT, it's so much more hard work than 2. Don't ask me why, Cos you don't have time to worry as much, and you just re-use everything you already own. It's just physically so demanding I guess. If only they'd just play nicely together .
I'm one of 4 but my mum spread us out over 16 years - I've left it a tad late for that!
Glad everyone had a good time yesterday, we're still all fighting this miserable cold. DD hasn't slept for more than 3 hours straight for nearly 2 weeks now, so neither have I. Have a huge zit on my nose - like a little beacon shouting "look who's run down"
Grrr. Going to bed soon!
LOL @ being buried under Billy bookcases!
