Yes, survived Ikea Q thought it was an adventure playground... running and shouting with glee throughout the place. We were ALL exhausted when we left. He was so tired that he fell asleep DURING a game of peek a boo while we were in the car waiting for dh to get wood from B&Q. Never seen him fall asleep like that on the spot before! He seriously was acting like he was on speed, though running like mad everywhere screaming with delight. It was so funny!!! In and out of show rooms.

I want 1 child. Just 1. Unless we win the lottery.

Sorry about the phone HMM. I've lost quite a few mobiles. And I've been paged in airports before saying they found my passport (which I hadn't realized I'd lost until that moment ). I guess you're all thinking it makes sense that my car was broken into now

Everyone's MN name is either self explanatory or explained somewhere, but I only just "got" ronshar's MN name. Couldn't figure out how or where that would have come from... now that I see it, I feel so silly!

lol at your little rebel myjob
Glad the night was better. Turning the heating on has improved Q's sleep TREMENDOUSLY.
I just said "turn the heating on" ha! That sounds quite British, doesn't it?

RachieW · 11/10/2009 20:45

Pepper- hope you all feel better soon! Sending lots of sympathy for the zit, it's the last thing you need!! I bet three is very physically demanding. My Mum spread us over 15 years so by the time she had my first db I was at school and then so was he when db2 came along. I remember taking my youngest bro for walks after school round the block. So sensible of her to have planned it so that siblings could help a lot We are also all May babies so it is all planned a bit scarily like clockwork

pepperrabbit · 11/10/2009 20:55

Ah yes, I'm the eldest and at 16, taking my brother for walks was an experience - people were sooo rude. Old ladies would be really blunt and say things like "you're a bit young" and never ever believe me when I said he was my brother! My dad used me and my sister as babysitters just when I wanted to go out all the time as well.
Funny thing is, when my mum had my youngest brother she was 37 and considered ancient by all the midwives. I was 37 when I had DS2 and no-one batted an eyelid.

pistachio - I figured you must just like pistachios

RachieW · 11/10/2009 21:15

Ahh Pistachio- that's really lovely about the Nursery role play. I'm really glad she's settled. I think they always do, even my nightmare child who called me a "fat idiot" is getting there and I'm starting to develop a soft spot for them. You've got a very early half term, we've still got 2 weeks to go......
You've made me think I should get a dress for ds' party now. I'm the same, no chance to get dressed up really these days.

Star- glad Ikea went well and to Q using it as a playground.

Pepper to nosey old ladies! I was only 10 when my youngest brother was born so no accusing looks. Last time I was at home my brother took J for a walk to the shops and a woman who knows our family said 'is he your's?' in a really shocked voice. Poor db was most offended, though he is 22 now so it isn't inconcievable. Now he'll only push the pram in 'safe' areas where noone knows him

CantSleepWontSleep · 11/10/2009 21:16

Evening ladies.

Sorry to hear about your mobile hmm. Have they found it and are forwarding it, or is it off to the great phone graveyard to join my dh's?

Sympathies re zit pepper. I have them most of the time anyway, but get to add cold sores as well when I am really run down!

We haven't put our heating on yet - have the rest of you? A bit of heat does circulate anyway from using the range, as it does cooking and hot water as well as the heating.

Am at you not getting ronshar's name til now star.

Rachie - D's walking started with just a couple of steps to bridge a small gap between object and person, and then has just been a couple or so steps every day or two. Then on Wednesday he did 6 or 7 to get to me from his grandparents, and then the 9 yesterday towards his walker or the trampoline. He's not done much free walking today, but he did walk all the way from his highchair in the breakfast room, through the kitchen and hall and into the living room, whilst just holding my hand lightly this evening.

I'm going to monitor how well flame copes with 3 children, as if we have another then I guess it's likely to be with not dissimilar age gaps to her. Her 3rd is due this week.

star6 · 11/10/2009 21:22

hmmmmm if someone else would like to conceive, carry in their belly and give birth to a child for me... maybe a 2nd isn't so difficult to consider

csws - as I've said we just put our "heating" on .

Congrats to D on his walking!

50ftQueenie · 11/10/2009 21:24

What are her age gaps CSWS?

I forgot to say well done D on sleeping through! M slept in her cot all night so we were pretty grateful for that.

M's party didn't happen as pretty much all the other babies were ill! M was in such a mood it wouldn't have been much fun anyway.

star6 · 11/10/2009 21:24

Q loves to push his pushchair around and loves to push his walker around, too - even though he doesn't need it. I wanted to get him a mini pushchair for a doll but DH doesn't like the idea

50ftQueenie · 11/10/2009 21:24

Star - You can have a time share in DS if you fancy. You seemed to like him and we could do with the break every now and then.....

RachieW · 11/10/2009 21:25

Our heating is going on and off like a bloody lightswitch CSWS, one minute it's cold, the next it's like a sauna. The problem is we have one thermostat in the hall which is the coolest place Like Q though, J has been sleeping better with the heating on.

J is doing a couple of steps to bridge gaps too and is happier to walk holding hands than before so maybe he'll start soon too. It sounds like D has progressed really quickly and tonight's walk sounds huge. I just can't get my head round the idea of J walking, it seems far too grown up

50ftQueenie · 11/10/2009 21:27

DS used to take a little toy trolley to Tesco and he used to put things he wanted in it.

I think DH is broody as he has just put Juno on and we watched that the night before we went in to have M 'removed'.

star6 · 11/10/2009 21:28

ooooh 50ft, I'll take him!! I love kids - I'll have your DS, csws' DD, Ekka's DD and myjob's DS (those are the only older siblings I have met so far) for a weekend and you can all take a break . After that, I'm pretty sure I'll be even more confident that I only want 1! lol

RachieW · 11/10/2009 21:32

Sorry to hear about M's party 50ft and her unhappy mood. Will you postpone it for next week?

Star- Same problem here with a pushchair for J. My Nan has one at her house and he loves it, in fact he began to push that before his walker. Anyway dh didn't want him to have one despite me pointing out that he pushes J's pram. There aren't even enough 's to go into that. However Early Learning do a blue pushchair which is acceptable to dh so my Nan is getting it for J's birthday

RachieW · 11/10/2009 21:35

I loved Juno 50ft and am still disappointed that I forgot to shout to dh 'Thundercats are go' [ or Thundercats ho as it should have been, showing my sad side now] when my waters broke.

CantSleepWontSleep · 11/10/2009 21:37

50ft - her ds is 2 weeks younger than my dd, and her dd must be 6 now I think.

Hee hee! If M had decided to arrive by herself then I would have gone with the Thundercats Ho! too.

Happy Birthday T
What a gorgeous day it is today!
Q only woke up ONCE last night for about 10 seconds and was right back out once binkie/dummy was given to him. He only uses it when going to bed now, not during the day well, unless in public and he's being a pickle and really super tired.
he got in the shower with me - stood in the bath and splashed around in the bits of water on the bottom and I sprayed him clean - and he did a poo in there with no nappy on That was totally gross.
