hi all katy rollin over now and undoes her arm at first she couldnt figure out how too get her arm from under her shes warbling loads i am knakkered too i should be in bed but i just put katy down and got a glass lager this is my free time then off too bed raining here too x

Nik72 · 29/06/2005 14:44

And raining here.....
Dd can push up when she's on her front & does laugh but not very often!! She's trying to sit up & roll so am having to be a lot more careful where I leave her now in case she rolls for the first time when my back's turned. Major development is she sleeps through most nights, and is usually down by 7pm so we finally have our evenings back - though i'm so knackered I usually just pass out on the sofa, very romantic. Good to hear everyones coping, albeit tired. Congrats to SL for the nappy comp. Saw some really cute stuffables at the local NCT sale so see what you love about them now! Am going to stick with my trusty MEOs though as you can't beat them for poo containment. Had her in disposibles for a couple of days away nad didn't like it as she smelt of wee all the time.

roosmum · 29/06/2005 21:52

oooh, new here- roo can sit up all by himself (dunno whether i posted this before..?), such a big little boy! he also stood up by himself by a few seconds whilst holding onto the edge of th e sofa (with me all ready to catch him!), he's really really strong...tho not rolling, think he's too big & heavy for that - or else just not bothered abt it...?
has also rained here lots today & been generally miserable. had postnatal grp meetup lunch today - all babies happy EXCEPT roo, who was a pain & whinged whinged whinged (unusual for him), told him off for being a pest whilst changing him & he just GRINNED, monkey! it's so wearing when they'r elike that, just start feeling washed out. finally got round to buying him a 1 tog grobag today, as he was kicking sheets off in no time (usually in 2.5), so just watch that warm weather vanish...
hazellnet - how's your nappying?? any rash/rash gone??
baby yoga in the am, roll on relaxation!
night night

roosmum · 29/06/2005 21:56

tipex - think we might also have stranger danger (!), freaked at PIL when they got here last wkend - took one look at them & SOBBED! - & then did the same last night when we had some people round for a BBQ...
he's always seen lots of people, been out loads, so duuno where he's developed this from (all of a sudden...), so hoping this won't last long!!

starlover · 29/06/2005 21:57

hello all!

linus rolled over! i was on mumsnet, and turned round and he was on his tummy! just pushing himself up on his arms and having a look round! Can't believe that i missed it though!!!

He will also stand on my lap holding onto my hands, but isn't sitting up by himself yet...
roo is certainly strong!

went to the dentist this morning and Linus was very good... jsut sat in his seat grinning at the assistant and babbling away to his dummy!

roosmum · 30/06/2005 21:14

hiya all mums & babes, how's everyone doing??

starlover - did you get your nappies yet?? & how did the wonderoo work out? i'd still love to get one, but dare not! have 2 nappies cut out & ready for sewing up loosely based on a fuzzi.

roo has been lovely today - smiley, happy, chatty. i love being a mummy!
xxx

starlover · 30/06/2005 21:16

apparently there was a mix up and i actually won the fuzzi bunz!!!

so have ordered some in nex size up! haven't come yet though
also have 2 homemade ones ready to be sewed!

Linus has also been lovely today. but am getting tired of having to keep rescuing him when he gets stuck on his front!!! LOL

starlover · 30/06/2005 21:16

oh the wonderoo is good actually. not entirely sure it's worth the money... but nice and slim... and no leaks

roosmum · 30/06/2005 21:17

oooh, roo also rolled earlier when my back was turned, like linus (tho not first time, he doesn't do it much) - def put him on his back, turned away for a few seconds & he was on his tummy gotta watch him now i think, in case of surprise rolling (visions of him heading off side of bed/sofa...!)

roosmum · 30/06/2005 21:18

oh wow SL - free fuzzis = even better i guess!
thoughts on wonderoo v. fuzzi??

starlover · 30/06/2005 21:20

i find the wonderoo "harder" than the fuzzis because the hemp inserts are more dense and less squishy.
they do seem to absorb well.
fuzzis fit better round ds's legs because they have the 2 rows of poppers where the wonderoo only has one.

erm... yeah, wouldn't go and buy loads i don't think. although we've been having probs with fuzzis leaking the past few days. not sure if linus has just been drinking more or what

roosmum · 30/06/2005 21:24

wonderoo doesn't seem to really impress you?? is it genuinely birth-to-potty IYO? guess that wd justify the expense (can't find one for below about £12!)

there's been lots of stuff on here bout leaking fuzzis recently....do you think it's the seams, or the whole thing (!)?
no probs here with mine yet.

what colours are yr new fuzzis?? my homemade ones are navy/yellow & lilac/turquoise (ok, bit girly, but roo's not gonna know! he's gone to bed in a pink terry too! )
hmm, too many emoticon thingys...

roosmum · 30/06/2005 21:25

sl, are you ok?

starlover · 30/06/2005 21:42

yeah was just checkijng out other nappies on wahmall!!! lol

erm.. i have no real problems with wonderoo.. but it hasn't amazed me enough to wanna go and buy loads. I also don't think that it will last until Linus is potty trained, especially if he keeps growing at this rate!!!

not sure about the leaky fuzzis really. have been changing him more often which is not really aprob as have plenty of nappies.. just a bit odd. He has been having more water while it has been warmer but we do always use an insert plus booster! odd..

his homemade ones are a swirly orangey outer with blue fleece inside with lions on!!!

was just looking at this shop which does some fab ones... you can custom build and they aren't too expensive! wonder where they get the nice PUL from?

btw, do you use velcro on your homemades? i was trying to get some aplix but couldn't find any

roosmum · 30/06/2005 21:47

yep just regular velcro - bought some in ebay recently in fab colours - now have red, blue, yelolow, ornage! dunno where you get aplix - like poppers best i think, but prob tpp much hassle to make, as you need a special tool.
those fabrics on the link were great! wd love to get hold of those.
just wondered if you were ok, as just tone of msg not so happy....just me wittering on tho i guess!
(over-sensitive, me!)
ahhhh, nappies! lovely!
xxx

roosmum · 30/06/2005 21:49

& you have cured me of wonderoo-lust, if they're not astoundingly good!
making them myself is v. satisfying too, don't you think? we'l lhave to post photos sometime, of homemade lovelies!

starlover · 30/06/2005 21:49

oh yeah i am fine! just a bit tired i think, and my eyes are hurting from spending too much time on here... but can't leave! lol

starlover · 30/06/2005 21:50

definitely, will try and get mine sewed up at the weekend!

roosmum · 30/06/2005 21:50

yes, me too
tragic, innit?!!!
going to bed NOW...
byeeee!

starlover · 30/06/2005 21:50

night night!

gossifer · 01/07/2005 09:56

hello everyone and i hope mums and babes are doing ok
starlover and roosmum - i have to say i do love your fuzzywuzzy talk - like some new language

leon is rolling both ways and eating his toes like some major yoga master! he's tried sweet potato and pear and loves it! it seems to make him all the more interested when we're eating!!!

roosmum - how does a baby go from rolling to sitting?

jolly4 - katys getting stuck is just like leon!

and even though leon sleeps through he will not go down before 10pm!! so no evenings for us, help! any tips?

roosmum · 01/07/2005 11:13

hiya gossifer, lol at fuzzywuzzy talk - fuzzy just like the inside of my brain atm (well, since roo was born!)

roo also chewing feet, v. funny (they're impressively bendy, no?!), as for rolling > sitting, he doesn't really roll, but just started sitting (bout 2wks back?). we have a babynest, which i think has helped him sit (now does it alone, but was in nest). also putting them on their tummies strengthens back - so baby yoga lady says. it tires them too!

starlover · 02/07/2005 17:29

Linus is cutting his first tooth! wow!
