oh tipex! poor you!
i can't remember if you are breast or bottle feeding (baby brain!)... but have you tried offering him a feed every 3 hours (or more often than you are)... and possibly fit in an extra feed. dream feed maybe?

just tihnking if you can fill him up in the day he may og longer at night!

Hi Jolly4, welcome back and glad to hear things are getting a bit better. PND just sucks but at least the babies don't seem to mind. I've gone to a lovely place locally that does counselling, baby massage & art therapy.
Isn't this weather fab - even up here in the frozen North!! Dd loves to kick around with her nappy off in the garden. At least it's not as hot here at night but we've gone from babygro & bodysuit & 2.5 tog bag to lightweight body suit & 0.5 bag in the space of 2 weeks!!!
Has anyone taken their babies swimming yet? Any experiences - I'd love to give it a go, must get off my behind & look into it but have been so unmotivated.

Hazellnut · 23/06/2005 08:24

Hi All !! Tipex, sorry to hear you having really bad nights still. Sounds like you have tried everything too... perhaps ds just doesn't like the heat.

Nik, we took dd swimming last weekend - it was great fun and I am going to sign up for swimming classes for her over the summer (the local pool are doing 3 over the summer so thought I could use it as a taster to see if I want to do more of them). I also bought dd some arm bands yesterday !! They say from 3 months to 24 months so not convinced they will really fit at the bottom end of the scale but will see when they arrive. Just couldn't resist it (and they were only £3 in the Jojomamanbebe sale online !).

Tipex - also meant to say that dd doesn't really cry much anymore when she wants a bottle. Unless I have forgotten for a while of course

Hazellnut - have been on that sale too! Bought a swim nappy & sun protection suit, which will guarantee rain for the rest of the summer! On-line shopping will be my downfall......

On a different note - isn't it odd to see a due feb 2006 thread? A year ago I'd just found out I was pg, how life has changed since (in a good way ).

This time last year I wasn't even pregnant .

We're off to the seaside tomorrow, hooray! Going to dip ds's toes in the sea.

Hazellnut · 23/06/2005 19:39

just posting a quickie as I dropped my laptop today and the power cable hole has gone funny so i only have as long as my battery lasts - dont' know how or when I will get it repaired so it may be the cure I need to my MN addiction !! Hopefully back soon - in the meantime enjoy the sunshine y'all !! We're getting on ok with the MEOS although know what you mean about them being bulky and am not convinced I am putting them on right as they seem to leave red marks on dd's legs (or maybe she just has chubby thighs)and think its the one size nappy causing it hmmmmm.

Back soon - hopefully !!

OP posts:
starlover · 24/06/2005 09:37

it may be the wrap rather than the nappy leaving marks hazellnut. try putting it on a little looser!

Nik72 · 24/06/2005 10:34

Gosh, have one grumpy baby today - she cries if I move more than a foot away from her and is getting very fed up whatever I try to do to entertain her. She's drooling like mad too - wonder if there's a bit of teething action going on. If it wasn't raining I'd bung her in the pram & go for a walk!

starlover · 24/06/2005 15:00

nik.. linus has been a bit grumpy too! think it's the heat.
he has been VERY sleepy as well though

yes, congrats starlover...i'm highly you jammy thing!

(i WILL get free nappies, someday!!)

hazellnut - how's your nappying??

have just got online after having PIL to stay for wkend, went to a wedding yesterday, which was lovely - first time we'd ever left roo with anyone & was a bit strange. tho it was a nice day, felt a bit like i'd wasted a day i cd've spent with him, never thought i cd feel quite like that! know now that going out to work with a little one left somewhere else wd be an impossibility for me, i'd far rather do without the extra cash. feel for anyone that has to go back to work anytime soon - good to hear tipex you have extra time off, happy christening planning, will you be having a big party??

my house is a tip, have to do something abt it, hope all is good & happy
xxx

starlover · 26/06/2005 21:42

i am so chuffed! i never win anything! can't wait til they come!

tipex... hooray for extra time off work.. how're things with ds?

roosmum... it's very odd leaving them isn't it? i think i have decided not to go to uni because i just couldn't leave him at nursery all day.

we had linus's naming day today, and it was really lovely.
can't stay long though as have lots of stuff to do before bed!

Hazellnut · 26/06/2005 21:47

I demand a recount !! Congrats Starlover, my positive thinking clearly didn't work. my computer is still broken but dh has brought his work one home so have snuck on !!

Glad the naming ceremony went well SL and having the christening booked Tipex is v. exciting. We're trying to book dd's but its proving a nightmare. Must chase again tomorrow.

Nappying is going ok - althugh we have been away this w.e so back to disposables. Friday though she seemed to have nappy rash so will have to watch this........ Any thoughts oh wise nappy ones ?

OP posts:
starlover · 26/06/2005 21:48

do you use fleece liners?

roosmum · 26/06/2005 22:16

oddly enough i abandoned fleece liners, as was convinced it was causing a bit of rash - which cleared up when i switched to paper. wd rather use fleece, but obv. not at cost of roo-rash, so paper it is for now (bambino mio better than php i think.).
how much rash, & where exactly??
you prob. know that cloth needs changing more often than disp.
nappies nice & clean?? \can occasionally need stripping of detergent (hot wash, no detergent), which can cause rash...erm that's all i can think of...i found persil caused rash too.

roosmum · 26/06/2005 22:17

did y ou put barrier cream of any sort?
did rash clear up whilst in disp??

starlover · 26/06/2005 22:33

roosmum... we had the exact opposite problem!
rash with paper liners, but none with fleece! although i don't use any liner at all with the fuzzi bunz.

roosmum · 26/06/2005 22:44

yes, that 's what i don't understand...no rash with fleece lined stuffies (nature babies, fuzzi, home-made-lovelies!), which i don't use paper liners in....
....nappies, some things bout them still a mystery to me!

jolly4 · 26/06/2005 22:56

hi evry 1 well just a quickie sorry too hear bout they mums that have been in the same boat as me just put katy in her cot in our room still dp partner off too sleep me just off to bed so hard too get me time still bf katy is more spaced out thou now she is 20 weeks on thursday thats 5 months it has floen by i find her very demanding harder than my first and i feel more tired mayb my age too anyway got too go nice too have had the support i will keep in touch thats girls xxxxxxx

Hazellnut · 27/06/2005 08:56

dh out playing golf today so have snuck back on - tee hee.

Right the rash is at the top of her bottom and went with one lot of sudocream but then after that she was back in disposibles. Using flushable paper liners.... don't think I fancy the fleece ones when it comes to poo time !! Will start again today and try changing her a bit more often and maybe making really sure I have mopped everything up as I think (probably quite obviously) the wetness stays on her skin more with cloth. Hopefully just a case of getting used to it !! Will let you know how it goes.
