Hey everyone,
Sorry for being cryptic last night, but legally we were not allowed to comment on the whole situation till it had been resolved, which I am pleased to say it has now!
Basically I got a call from a colleague last night with some bad news. The school had been judged as 'good' or 'outstanding' on all categories of teaching, learning, management etc and the report was glowing on the lessons they saw and the pupil behaviour/extra-curricular etc. however, they could not tick one box because of a clerical level the LEA had made which meant that although all new staff had been cleared by the CRB the school wasn't in possession of the actual disclosure forms (county educational service had them as it was their policy to ony send to school when they were all complete). As a result the lead inspector was in the ludicrous position that he had to fail the school and judge it as inadequate!!.
As you can imagine, the shit hit the fan yesterday and today and it was taken to the very top. We were the first school to be inspected in our LEA this academic year so were basically the fall-guys. Anyway the local MP and education secretary put pressure on OFSTED to reverse the decision which they have done tonight
Absolute lunacy, bureaocracy gone mad!!! The whole thing was down to the county council who have now promptly changed their policy and will release all forms as soon as they have them (BTW they do inform the school of any issues i.e if someone doesn't pass, BEFORE the start of the academic year so no childs saftey is compromised).
Everyone was depressed as hell today as they had worked so hard and felt so cheated. but let the good times roll!!..........
Big waves to all, glad people feeling better.
Dog- urrah for washing machine and I am sure you are very glam Have a great night.
Have a great wedding MissJ, nails sound lovely.
tea- love to your new niece, hope they come up with a name soon.
In Mr.Z news, he can now scale the stairs in about 30 seconds flat, what an absolute monster he is. He 'walks' between me and darren (well about one step, any more and is flat on his face) he regularly stands without holding on for about a minute and says 'mama', 'dada', 'heya' and something unintelligable but recognisable for Evie. Oh, and he has had the foulest nappies from hell this week so moose, I wholly sympathise!
right, off to enjoy my wine and become reaquainted with my family. Sort of forgotten what they look like this week!
