I want him to be a baby forever and ever and ever.

Well, was nanny's last day today. I felt a little sorry for her, as she's very very close to R. She's coming to visit on Monday though, and I said she's welcome to come over if she ever wants to. Tomorrow nursery day, and from then onwards it's us for all except Wednesdays (keeping nursery day for now).

Tomorrow my last day. It's strange. Part of me a little sad, actually. At least we're going to a cool place for drinks afterwards, so will go out with a bang (and probably a headache...)

Oooh oooh, Roelof's getting his first haircut on Saturday. At this really cool children's salon on King's Road. I'm a little excited. I know, I know, pfb and all that, but still.

BunnyOfThePertBoobs · 01/10/2009 21:28

Aww bless. Have a lovely time tomorrow. Shame I'm off at the mo or I might have gatecrashed.

Hope R has a fun time at the hair dressers. I didn't know there were one's specifically for kids. Bet that's cheap!!

MistergodthisisSal · 01/10/2009 21:43

Yeah, that would have been cool! Hmm, we can always think of an excuse when I'm back from SA and meet up for Christmas drinks!

Uhm, the salon... I'm a little embarrassed as I know it's very very gimmicky for what will in essence be one lock snipped off! It's Tantrum - looks really cool, and as he's a little older, I thought ideal for a first cut.

BunnyOfThePertBoobs · 01/10/2009 21:55

I think it looks fantastic. But OMG how much?? You make me feel so bad that DS2's only cost a fiver in the local hair salon.

But then if this was near me I would soo have been tempted.

BR

MistergodthisisSal · 01/10/2009 22:12

I know. But it's my first one, remember - I'm still a bit over excited! And the plan is only to take him this once so that I can see how they do it - I'm more than happy to do it myself in future if just a general snip, or take him to the local salon if he handles it ok.

BunnyRabbit · 01/10/2009 22:24

Wow you're brave. I wouldn't trust myself near another living being with a pair of scissors!!

MistergodthisisSal · 01/10/2009 22:49

Hmm, I probably shouldn't either - taking into account that I don't even like cutting his nails... But I have to tell this to myself so as not to feel too guilty about silly money being paid this weekend!

BunnyRabbit · 01/10/2009 22:59

It's only once, and in the long run it's not exactly that much money so just go for it and enjoy the experience .

KnitterInTheNW · 01/10/2009 23:40

George now needsd about his 10th or 11th haircut... but I don't want to cut it because it's gone all curly now its longer! Love it!

EllieG · 02/10/2009 09:29

Afternoon all.

Sal - I've attacked Sam with the clippers twice, so much easier than scissors, although he does end up looking a bit like a Belsen camp victim

Enjoy your drinkies

Scorps · 02/10/2009 15:30

Sweet! Lovely photos sal. Am very jealous of babies who need hair cuts, as Molly has only just got enough hair to decently cover her head and it's still very light on the front.

Molly's got some new words this weekend, socks and shoes, though she can't pronounces s sounds yet, so it comes out as 'docks' and 'doos', which I almost like better

Scorps · 05/10/2009 11:39

I wrote huge big nice post and then it went

So in brief:

isnt this good yes for P&T cocoon to keep warm = nice and warm easy to use etc etc

Getting scared of birth am now 28+3 = pooing myself with worry lol

Oh and Molly talking = fab. We are still waiting for Mimi!!

MistergodthisisSal · 05/10/2009 13:00

I love 'docks' and 'doos', think you should keep 'em, Ellie!

R not really talking yet, more random babbling. He's got his command lines in order though - can do Pappa (Daddy in Afr), Mamma (Mommy), and "tata" (means bye in Afrikaans), lol. Clever boy. Scary sometimes how much they can understand, even if not talking. Guess now's the time (or about a month ago) to start watching what we say!

Scorps no, are you insane?! Seriously though - that looks amazing, but HOW much?? Jeez, even for a money waster like me that's a lot. Wonder how long it would fit though - it says 4 months. It does look brilliant though... I'm tempted to look around on that site, but I've got a faint suspicion it's evil, lol. And I'm unemployed now... Hmm. Someone have a word with me.

PS: If you do buy it, i'll be eternally jealous. I want one like that! Wonder if my mom can make me one...

Scorps · 05/10/2009 13:10

I know its alot, BUT will get used daily, and now you get that Health in Pregnancy Grant (£190) and i have nothing to spend it on apart from some pyjamas. I have everything else for baby, even maternity pads from last time . I have all the BF bras i need. Oh i am going to buy a swing, i'm thinking baby bouncy chair too easy for mimi to tip up if she so desires . But really, thats it, so think i can buy extras iyswim.

It is Gorgeous though isnt it!!!

LOL Sal at you being unemployed you are a lazy SAHM now!

OP posts:
Scorps · 05/10/2009 13:11

Also i thought Lacey dd2 would go in it in just a cardi and hat and sleepsuit? Looks very warm. Be easier at baby clinic/morning rush etc

OP posts:
KnitterInTheNW · 05/10/2009 14:12

Ooo Scorps, that is utterly gorgeous! And agree, would be very suitable for minimum fuss for faster going out and coming in again. Is DD2 def Lacey then or are you having a practise with it to see how it feels?

I might not be unemployed as of January! Forgot to tell you all, On the day I was driving to Leicester, a lady called to say she'd seen my poster that morning and she thought I was exactly what they're looking for, had a long chat with her that night and it sounds too good to be true! I'm going to see her and her DC when we're next in Warrington, and fingers crossed it'll all work out. She has a DS who is 4 days off being a year older than George, and an 18 week old DD. She'd want me to start in Jan if it all works out, and it's 3 days a week and not too far from home and EVERYTHING!! Wish me luck with it please.

Are you twiddling your thumbs yet Sal?

Scorps · 05/10/2009 14:14

Wow Knitter that sounds very good! Nice ages of dc too, with G to look after too it will be great fun

On some days she is Lacey and on others Maisie. DH likes both and says its up to me. We have no middle name/s either. All ideas welcome!

OP posts:
KnitterInTheNW · 05/10/2009 14:20

How about Lacey Mae, then you get a bit of both?

Scorps · 05/10/2009 14:21

Mae feels a bit 'non name' for me, iyswim. All the other names i like, bar Amber, end in 'e' sound which i don't want. Though i don't really want Lacey Amber. I am not hard to please honest

OP posts:
PeachyTentativelyPosting · 05/10/2009 14:25

Lacey Mae goes well I think.

Scorps-pop the bouncer in a playpen /travel cot, by far teh safest way IMO. Amazing what a toddler can do to safety straps on swings.......

Bas talks a bit, got stuck earlier and all I could her wwas ' Mummeeeeeee' which Iloved . LOL at haircut though- Bas justat level where it isnt a crew cut, finally! And at bf bras- he's juststarting to cut back breastfeeds to @4 a day.
