How funny!

3 working days left. I cannot believe how quickly it came. I'm looking forward to my leaving drinks on Friday - we're going to a really cool place just around the corner from work (in Covent Garden).

No specific plans yet. R's got Boppin Bunnies on Mondays, and I want to try and take him to proper music lessons once a week too. Except for that, just survival, I think! At least I've got the South African trip to ease me into it - I'm at home Mon, Tues, and then we're flying to SA on Wednesday, coming back end of Oct.

EllieG · 30/09/2009 08:58

Hey knitter! I was wondering where you had got to! Glad all is OK, lovely about G saying shark, bless him

EllieG · 30/09/2009 08:58

DoNot - poor little thing! Is he OK this morning?

DoNotPressTheRedButton · 30/09/2009 09:25

Owner is on her way

loveliest little dog, made for children- but not for us LOL

annamama · 30/09/2009 09:40

Hi! I haven't been on here for a very long time... am currently mostly on an ante-natal thread... Anyway, my DD Ellie was born 30 April 2008.

That's so funny with little George saying shark etc and babbling lots too! He would get on with my DD. Her "best baby friend" the same age doesn't say a word... We're bringing her up bilingual (I'm swedish), and apparently bilingual children can be late talkers... but not Ellie, she says lots of words, in both languages! The latest ones are pineapple and "flygplan" =airplane. Sorry don't mean to boast, just so happy as I was worrying about the bilingual thing. It's funny when she's babbling to people, they might think that it's fluent swedish (but it doesn't make any sense to me)...

What's everyone else's kids doing/saying?

KnitterInTheNW · 30/09/2009 10:37

Hi Ellie, Donot and Anna,

So glad you found a home for the pup Donot, poor little thing.

Anna, I used to work as a nanny in London. One of the families that went to the same nursery as one of my charges were trilingual - English, Swedish and Danish. Very impressive children! They never stopped talking either, and it was hit and miss if it was a language you understood when they opened their mouths! Good for Ellie that she's a little chatterbox. Out of interest, roughly whereabouts do you live?

annamama · 30/09/2009 10:41

Wow - yeah trilingual is really impressive... thank god we're not doing that. Kids are really fantastic at learning languages! We live in Kent but hoping to move (back) to London soon. Why? I see you're in Warrington, I have been there once! With a former boyfriend. Don't remember much except we went to some pubs and the beer was cheap...

KnitterInTheNW · 30/09/2009 14:03

Just being nosey really!

Scorps · 30/09/2009 14:25

Hi everyone, had MW today. Baby is measuring big, well just over a week bigger. All good with her, thank god. Had iron blood test today, i am such a wimp, lol.

So, Ha, Vee Ess, i am a big fatty

I speak 2 other languages, French and German. Though never get German practise so am prob crap at that.

I bet ellie has run away to Cuba or something with her findings

MistergodthisisSal · 30/09/2009 21:54

Hi Anna.

Scorps - wonderful! Sounds like a lovely day (minus the blood test of course)

Uhm yes, where's Ellie??? You'd think she has the decency to invite us with! Gmpf, am tempted to call the police. I know how she looks and everything.

I've just eaten too many Quality Streets. Not good.

KnitterInTheNW · 30/09/2009 22:01

And you didn't share? Humph...

Think I must be due AF as I can't stop eating.

MistergodthisisSal · 30/09/2009 22:06

Well, there's one or two left, I'll share with you. I don't even have AF to blame - am just a pig!

EllieG · 01/10/2009 09:17

I thought about Cuba but am bit busy at work, so have out my stash under the desk and am selling it off at lunchtime

Hi anna

MistergodthisisSal · 01/10/2009 09:30

Fair enough ellie, if it's a business and everything I guess we could allow you to keep it. I think.

2nd last day at work today. It feels strange.

BunnyOfThePertBoobs · 01/10/2009 09:32

Ellie,
Are you standing on a street corner with it or have you set up a web page .

Glad to hear all is well with the bump Scorps.

Hi Knitter, DS2 may not be walking but boy is he talking.... so many words. Fell a bit bad as used to write DS1's down but just haven't got round to it for DS2. Cutest ones are teeth when it's time to brush his teeth and asks for his shoes to put on "sooz sooz" am loving shark. Will have to try that tonight.

Sal I am so very of you. Have a fab time in SA and do gloat at your leaving drinks won't you. I certainly would!

LadyBee, wow that has come round quick. Hope you have an uneventful flight and a beautiful day [soppy blubbing emoticon] I love weddings.

DoNot, How did the owners find you and what's there excuse for the state of their little puppy??

Hi Anna, my cousin's kids are bilingual and it used to be very confusing for me when they were little as they would use words from both languages. It's fun now as there mum always speaks to them in hebrew when she wants to tell them off, so no one else can understand. It sort of back fires as, as soon as she doesn't speak in english, we know something's up!!

SuperSoph73 · 01/10/2009 10:01

Morning all.

Sal - have a great time, very
Ladybee - have a wonderful day, lots of piccies please
Scorps - pleased to hear everything is OK
Anna - hi there, lovely to hear from you. My friend's children are trilingual, mum is Dutch, Dad is Spanish & they go to an English speaking school, it's very impressive. We're hoping that DS1 will be bilingual eventually but we never know how well his Spanish is coming on because he refuses to speak it in front of us. We do hear him speaking Spanish to his friends & obviously he does it in his Spanish lessons.
Knitter - great to hear from you again & love that George can say shark, very impressive

SuperSoph73 · 01/10/2009 10:08

Am feeling very tired today didn't go to bed until 1.30am as a friend who I haven't seen for 14 months came over & we just gossiped all evening. Obviously the couple bottles of wine we consumed didn't help Am going to bed as soon as I've got the kiddies tucked in tonight, LOL!

Did a wonderful dinner where you just through all the ingredients in a roasting tray & leave for 40 mins & voila, all done. Very yummy!

Scorps · 01/10/2009 13:48

Soph - you dirty stop out DH and I have been sotired lately, getting in bed at 9pm to watch telly, lol

Have just realised that i need a buggy, Xmas presents, and money to live over Xmas all in 12 weeks. Xmas day is 12 weeks tomorrow, people. Too much to do!! I would like to be done in 6 weeks tbh. Sigh.

EllieG · 01/10/2009 14:05

Goodness me! That's not very long is it?
My kids are getting naff all this year the way my bank balance is looking though! Have just bought Molly a little ITNG easel chalk/white board thing from someone for a tenner (usally £40 in shops and in very good nick) so am feeling very chuffed at my thriftiness today though. She loves to eat crayons so she'll really enjoy that.

Scorps · 01/10/2009 14:35

I think ds1 & ds2 are having bikes. I have no clue about Mimi, though i think a singing iggle piggle is on the list. I don't know what Zac wants yet.

It is ds2 and dss birthday, as well as mine, in November. I will be 25

So much to do! Will raid DH's bank

OP posts:
SuperSoph73 · 01/10/2009 16:18

Scorps, Scorps, Scorps ... how will you cope being that old I'll be 137 37 in March And anyway, I've now got 2 reasons not to speak to you ... you're too young and you've just told me there are only 12 weeks to Christmas

It's DS1's birthday on Monday, he'll be 7, bless his little cottons, we've gone Ben 10 mad this year. Have got to make a birthday cake on Sunday for him to take to school - which reminds me I need a number 7 candle, where's the shopping list?

BunnyOfThePertBoobs · 01/10/2009 17:11

OMG don't talk to me about Ben 10. I even know the difference between Ben 10 and Ben 10 Alien force AND I can name the aliens. Can't remember the name of the ladies as DS2's nursery though. How bloody sad is that !

Ohh and I'm a sprightly 42 so you are all young whipper snappers!!

12 weeks? Really? Must start looking a the book people and Baker Ross......

Oh joy.

BR

Scorps · 01/10/2009 18:42

We are ben 10 fans here too. Fourarms anyone??

Police came round, ex told them dh grabbed him wen he did no such thing. We know dh would lose fighters license if he did you see. Police officer knew straight away what ex was trying to do. I have decided to go to court with access and to involve csa.

I will be very old and no longer a 'girl'

OP posts:
MistergodthisisSal · 01/10/2009 19:00

Oh, ex sounds like a moron. Glad police understood.

Hmm, Ben 10. I don't want R to ever want that - I want him to stay small and cuddly and continue being an In The Night Garden fan!

BunnyOfThePertBoobs · 01/10/2009 21:00

Don't worry, by the time R is that age it'll be something else equally as annoying and with just as much ridiculously expensive merchandise...
