Oh Ladybee, that is fantastic news! I will indeed include your friend in my prayers tonight. What a wonderful feeling to carry with you into 2010 (well, almost 2010!)

It's still just over a month, but I'm so excited about our Indian trip in Feb. I've "known" for a bit, obv, but it only ever feels real once we've bought the tickets, and that was done last week. Now reading up like mad. We only really have one week to sightsee as dh working the other one, so R & I will just hang around at the hotel, I think. The place we're staying at apparently has big gardens and a pool, so should be quite nice. Independent and tough as I'd like to think of myself, I can't imagine R & I going out in the the streets of Jaipur or markets without dh. Might have done markets on my own, but not with R. I can't wait!

VirginPeachyMotherOfSpod · 29/12/2009 21:36

Where in India are you based Sal?

My degreeis about 50% is Indian faiths and culture but i've never been there (yes I know- but the annualtrip starts on Boxing Day and as amother I didn't feel I could go. would love to one day though).

Depends on where you are but my friendsadored this place, though I really want to also see Amritsar, Varanasi and I'dalso like to see Buddha's birthplace in Nepal. Maybe one day.

Ladybee have said a prayer for your friend.

MisSalToeKisses · 29/12/2009 22:15

Peachy, those places look amazing, I'd love to visit one day.

We'll be based in Jaipur, so I think for this trip we'll probably stick to Rajastan - Agra, Jaipur and then a couple of day trips, I think. We're flying in and out of Delhi. If this works out well, we're hoping to go back and see more of the rest of India one day, and I would love to go to Nepal. It feels so odd being so close to all these places I've always dreamt of seeing, yet not going, but I think it would be too tough on R if we're too busy. Still, I am so glad to have this chance!

VeeEsss · 30/12/2009 21:38

Scorpio is in labour.

LadyBee · 30/12/2009 23:38

woohoo! how exciting
hope it all goes smoothly

VeeEsss · 30/12/2009 23:41

She's had her!!!

MisSalToeKisses · 31/12/2009 08:57

Just seen your FB pictures - she is so beautiful!!! And yay re bf-ing already! Am painfully broody, think you should bring her up to London for a visit.

Has to take R to the doctors for a jab in a couple of minutes. Apparently I forgot - he was supposed to have it months ago. Bad mummy. What a way to end the year, poor thing.

VirginPeachyMotherOfSpod · 31/12/2009 09:49

Aw she is really gorgeous.

Well done Scorps, posted on your FB page.

Which jab sal? bas ahd his measlesin December and it made himVV ill,he got full rash which is apparently something only 10% get.

Am full of cold today. Grrrr. Had to get up at 4am and go out tocar as left paracetamol in there. Thank goodness the snow never amde it,coz last time the car froze shut and I was not up for that at that time!!!

MisSalToeKisses · 31/12/2009 16:01

It's the Pneumococcal jab, Peachy. He had it at 9:30 this morning, and so far, so good. Hope he's ok with it tonight.

I'll have a look at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases website now, as I want to ensure we all get the necessary injections with plenty of time left to get over any side effects. Without research, I suspect we need Yellow Fever jabs, and I'd also like R to get the TB one (BCG?) Even though we had the option to get the TB one when he was smaller (because we're visiting SA, which counts as a "risk" area), he never had it, as we're never taking him to such areas when there. I feel slightly more worried about it in India though. Not sure about the others (and even if any already covered by current jabs) like Hep, Rabies etc. Off to go search.

Hi all

Lacey was born on Wednesday at 2248, at my parents house with my friend and 2 mws. Mw came at 9 ish and I had gas for last half hour. All went really well and bf is sorted already. She is a darling. H has only seen her for an hr but will see her today. I'm at my parents until I'm able a bit more and then he is leaving. Life will be better - I will pick up and he will flounder.

It will be sad yes I did love him but he's a bad man.

Mimi met Lacey and laughed at her! Jamie was great. Reilly hasn't been here yet he's been at his dads.

Oh well done Scorps, congratulations!!! I've read your other thread and you seem to be coping well even with all the difficulties of new baby, breastfeeding, hormone crash - let alone the stresses of your relationship with H. You should be incredibly proud of how you're handling this

Lovely day here, out with DH and DS to a park, lots of running around looking at the birds and squirrels all wrapped up in winter woolies, then back home for hot drinks and snuggley stories on the couch at home.

I am planning a bit of sorting and sifting tomorrow. Think I'm not the only one with this mood on, the street seems to be full of black bin bags.

Denny185 · 04/01/2010 19:30

Bit late but wishing you all a happy new year.

Scorpio, massive congratulations on the safe arrival of Lacey. Wishing you all the luck in the world over the next few months.

Xmas and new year all good here, some over-indulgence and fun had by all.

The battle of potty training had begun I have the rest of the week off and no other plans so the heating is cranked up and the nappies are off....they may of course be back on by the end of the week.

MisSalLaneous · 05/01/2010 19:09

Hey, lost you girls on "threads i'm on", and still have nothing to say.

This is me (Sal) minus my Christmas outfit, btw.

LadyBee · 05/01/2010 22:09

everyone seems to have gone quiet. Hopefully not drowning under the weight of New Year's resolutions.

KnitterInTheNW · 05/01/2010 22:21

Hello!

Thought I'd better just come in and say hi really, nothing much happening but I seem to be very busy! Still clearing up from christmas slowly but surely, and I'm meant to be starting my job tomorrow - if the roads are fit to drive on! Typical, we were just getting the pavements back to safe alking on condition after the christmas snow, and we've had another good 6-7 inches over the last 24 hours.

George is hard work at the mo, just into everything. Was making him a sandwich for lunch yesterday and brought it into the dining room to find him sat on the dining table with a defiant look on his face. Drives me loopy quite a lot and I'm looking forward to him having the company of other children for 3 days a week so that he's not pulling at me all the time! Playgroups and stuff start up next week again too which is a good thing, feel like we've been cooped up in the house for ages what with the snow and freezing weather...

MisSalLaneous · 05/01/2010 22:27

Hi Ladybee. Have decided to ditch all New Year's resolutions this year. Now how is that for one?

I want it to snow now... Dh working from home tomorrow, so no delayed train trips for him, thanks heavens.

Took R to the Blackheath Conservatoire for "music classes" this morning, and really enjoyed it. It's similar to the Boppin Bunnies class on Mondays, but he loves the music and I think it's a good opportunity to learn more English words in a relaxing environment.

MisSalLaneous · 05/01/2010 22:31

Sorry, missed your post, hi Knitter! Love the snow photo's on FB! George obviously loves the snow, even if the adults have bruised bums/knees half the time!

I'm jealous, want some snow now too.

It would be great for George to have friends around - I see when I visit my friend who's got a little boy same age - when in a home environment, it's so much easier when there are other children around. In public (restaurants etc) however, I'm not sure lately. R seems to think he has to stick his hands in any glass, whether filled or not...

LadyBee · 05/01/2010 22:57

But that's what glasses are for, Sal - didn't you know??

I want snow too, sort of. Also don't because it's my day off tomorrow and I want to go to a friend's place for coffee.

BabyBee is struggling a bit with being back at childminder's I think, after having so much time with me and DH over the break. He desperately doesn't want to go up for bath etc when we get home, even though he has a good time I think it's because he knows it all leads to bedtime and he doesn't want to say goodnight. Heartbreaking to have him cling to me saying 'no, mummy, no,' I'm just letting him burrow into me and telling him stories, chatting quietly until he gets closer to falling asleep.
It makes me dread bedtimes a little, knowing it's bound to end up with him in tears. It's not how I want his bedtime to be.

Other than that, things are ok. Babybee is obsessed with Hairy Maclary stories at the moment, DH is completely sick of reading them (we have a collection of 5) and we're trying to persuade him (DS, not DH) that some of his other stories are good too. But 'Woof' is generally what he says to that.

The train set and duplo are going down well, both get played with daily and he's very fond of his PeppaPig ('George! Grrrr!') pyjamas (they have george and the dinosaur on them).

Oh and I'm all crampy and achey and PMT-ish, which is annoying as I'd quiet like to be pregnant instead. of Scorpio's new bubba.

oh just thought I'd add, I'm not putting him down sobbing, it just that he has tantrum and gets all upset when it comes to getting into sleeping bag before cuddles and bedtime.

LadyBee · 05/01/2010 22:57

quite, not quiet.

LadyBee · 05/01/2010 23:01

pooohhhh, it's snowing! it's snowing!

MisSalLaneous · 05/01/2010 23:47

Ladybee.

RE: Babybee - give the childminder thing a little time. I think once he gets used to the routine again and sees that he has you all the time on weekends, he'll be more at ease and bedtimes will become nice and relaxing again.

KnitterInTheNW · 06/01/2010 07:41

yesterday's snow has turned all the roads here into ice rinks, so my lovely new boss has told me not to go, she wouldn't want me driving on the ice with George in the car. Hope it clears soon or I'll be working lots of full weeks to make the days up!
Agree with Sal about BabyBee and his CM, I'm sure he'll get back into the swing of things once he's used to them again. Is there any chance he could be teething or anything? G is always clingier and needs me more when there's something not quite right with him.

MisSalLaneous · 06/01/2010 15:28

Your boss sounds great, Knitter.

It's been snowing constantly since this morning! It's R's nursery day today, but I think we should go and collect him now, because I wouldn't want the poor thing to be stuck at school!

It is beautiful looking at the falling snow though (through the window, mind you) - I can just sit here for hours.

MisSalLaneous · 09/01/2010 12:55

Knitter, how is the new job?

Hope everyone else is enjoying the snow and doing well.

KnitterInTheNW · 09/01/2010 13:41

New job is brilliant thanks Sal, Although George has been constantly asking for the little boy (not sure if I should say their names because they're not mine IYSWIM, but I'm sure I will at some point!) all morning and driving me and DH loopy! I loved being 'useful' again, brilliant to have a baby to lok after again, and a PINK one too! George and the little boy (name begins with an A so that's what we'll call him!) get on so so well, and it's all fantastic.

George is having a nap at the mo but hen he gets up we're going to attempt to go out and get his feet measured, just to get him out of the house. Still thick ice everywhere here, and more snow forecast for sun/mon. Getting fed up of it now!
