hello all
just off to early bed - exhausted & no point in staying up just to watch dh a) sort out his new computer router, b) sort out his dad's broken laptop, or c) play call of duty online...
NC/Stefka - so sorry you are both feeling poorly one way or another at the moment, and i hope that you are both on the mend soon xx
Floria/LLL - congrats on the weight loss and for sticking with it - I have dropped 3 dress sizes now, but have become really lazy and have stopped trying to lose when i really have a bit more to go. so i'm just trying to maintain the loss at the moment so i don't undo everything i've achieved. It is soooo hard
TLES - i will email you on facebook - thanks for volunteering to organise the secret santa - my present last year was one of the nicest i received so I'm def in!
WWAJC/Dal/everyone else - lots of love & hugs too (anyone heard from Alicet or Muppet lately? see Muppet on FB, but not alice)

TheLadyEvenstar · 19/11/2009 12:29

NC; ((((big hugs)))))no wonder you have been feeling so bad...I hope this is the end of it now...and fwiw I wouldnt say anything to sil either..it is no business of hers or anyone but you and Rich.

Strawberry; Well done on the weight loss, you are doing the right thing just trying to maintain rather than struggling to lose more when your heart isn't in it,( that is where I went wrong last timeI won't make that mistake again).I'm missing Alice and Muppet too...both busy with new house/baby no doubt ... though Muppet is hoping to meet up with me and WWAJC nearer to Christmas and did say she would try to get back on here.

Scan date still didn't come through today, been doing college work for a lot of the day while DD2s grandma had Shannon for me and going to go into college tomorrow because I have an exam and not much point in moping at home all day, not good for me or Shannon, the more I do, the more (sorry if TMI!) blood and stuff comes out of me, but not particularly heavy, suppose its better to get as much out and then hopefully won't need D&C.

Sorry to moan on here, probably being insensitive Don't really have anyone else to talk to about it, think Rich wishes it was over with, well so do I, but I can't ignore it like him can I.

will try and catch up proerly tomorrow night, so tired, but know I wont sleep when I get to bed.

LES will FB you too when I get chance x

Dalrymps · 19/11/2009 23:17

Oh NC so sorry you're having to go through this. I hope it's over with quickly and you don't need a D and C... Don't worry about talking about it on here, we're all her for you. I hope you do manage to get some sleep (((hugs)))

FloriaTosca · 20/11/2009 08:20

NChoney. Sorry I wasn't on here late last night (Alex has been sleeping particularly badly recently so I'm trying to get to bed as early as him)Having been through several m/cs and a D&C I have to say that it sounds like you are 'getting rid' and probably won't need the op but I'm no medic so what do I know. I'm just shocked they didn't d&c at the same time 10wks ago. I hope it is finally over with soon and totally understand your resentment of Rs attitude... it is a very 'men are from mars' thing; he can't 'fix' the problem so retreats into his cave until it fixes itself or he finds a solution ...at least he appears to be feeling something in the acceptable range (to us)of emotions ... my Dh only felt relief. I hope you got some sleep and the scan date comes through today...they can't be too worried or it would have been done immediately but at least they are checking you out properly. ((((hugs)))) Sending loads of get well soon vibes. xx

NeedCoffee · 20/11/2009 17:11

Hi thanks for being nice, still no date through, rang GPs and apparantly its being processed, I think its probably similar to a lady having a m/c and unless I'm in extreme pain or losing a lot of blood then not urgent?
Went to college, reckon I failed the exam, got base rates and index rates mixed up so did loads of calculations that where wrong, then buses where going straight past us in town as they where full so got home really late for DD1, luckily she had a key.
FT-Re men not handling stuff, you may be right about the cave thing, the thing is it makes me dislike him when he's like so more stress.
Sorry to hear Alex isn't sleeping, Shannons started being dodgy again with sleeping, but prob not as bad as Alex, at least I'm not bf.
Fell asleep at 2am,then shannon was awake at 6ish, could have been worse i suppose.

Anyone got any advice?-Shannon has a bit of a phobia about weeing on the toilet at nursery, she holds it in until they put a nappy on for her nap or until i get there, not sure what to do about that really, she's not a massive fan of the toilet or potty anyway.

Right off to sort washing out, early night for me hopefully.

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 21/11/2009 14:37

Stefka - hope your IBS gets sorted soon then you can start feeling better. Really hope you're not allergic to anything too yummy. (NC at sprouts)

NC - at your termination not having worked - no wonder you've been in such pain, not to mention the emotional side of it - you poor thing. Hope you can get a scan really quickly so you know it's all clear now. And you're not being insensitive at all - make sure you take care of yourself as much as you can - you've got so much to deal with. Sorry, no help with Shannon and weeing - have you checked out the potty training threads on here? - it might not be uncommon.

LES - will fb you details for secret santa.

FT - at 'unexpected pupil'. Bet the floor's looking good - all finished yet?

Didn't manage to get to CAB this week - popped in one lunch time and it was really busy so I wouldn't have got to see anybody before I'd have to go back to work. Might try again this week.

Off to a second birthday party tomorrow for a couple of Anya's friends. Nothing else much planned for this weekend - might take Anya to Ikea and see her reaction to toddler beds - we're probably getting her one for Christmas.

TheLadyEvenstar · 21/11/2009 23:48

Blimey, its all gone very quiet

I hope this is not the beginning of the end for our thread?

Although I suppose now the kids are getting older there isn't quite as much to say anymore.

Hope everyone is well, I have been busy xmas shopping and have only got a couple more to buy for, thank god, its bankrupting me

Dalrymps · 24/11/2009 21:48

Hey LLL

Of course it's not the begining of the end, i've never met such a wonderful group of ladies and certainly don't want to stop chatting with you all anytime soon.

I promise to be a total baby bore when #2 comes along

How is everyone doing? Been to aqua natal tonight, enjoyed it as before last week I hadn't been for about 6 weeks dues to having cold after cold. We had lovely home made rock buns courtesy of the midwife

WWAJC - Sorry to hear you're having to go through this difficult time, even being sure of what you want now, there must be lots to think about... Hope you manage to get to CAB soon and they can give you some good advice and make things simpler/clearer for you. We're all here anytime you want to offload

NC - You#ve got so much going on at the moment, I don't know how you do it all!

Make sure you grab rest whenever you can and go easy on yourself. You got a scan date yet?

Stefka - Sorry to hear you might have ibs. My sil has it but it is set off by certain foods for her, mainly wheat based foods I think, bread etc. She has been offered medication from her doc but it was a tablet she had to take before every meal and she got fed up of that so just tries to watch what she eats at the moment. Incidentally it almost dissapeared whilst she was pregnant so maybe if you do have it you'll get some relief from it once you concieve?

Les - Glad to hear Karl is getting on ok at his new school. Trip to eurodisney sounds exciting be years before we can afford a holiday I think... Mustn't complain though, done loads of travelling in my younger days so a few years off won't hurt!

Just eating some Ben and Jerrys cookie dough ice cream YUM!

Don't know if I mentioned but I had the swine flu jab in the end. Figured i'm double risk with being asthmatic aswell and I have Dylan to think about too so...

Hope everyone I haven't mentioned is doing ok, keep posting ladies, even if just to say hi

NeedCoffee · 24/11/2009 22:23

Just to quickly let you all know, had scan this morning, they said there's a littl ebit left bu it doesn't warrant a D&C thankfully, should come away naturally.

Am off to bed now, will try and get back on tomorrow

Dalrymps · 24/11/2009 23:02

Good news NC, sleep well

FloriaTosca · 25/11/2009 10:47

NC; glad to hear all is well and you dont need another anaesthetic.

LLL; I have been afraid for a while that things were getting too quiet on here; understandable when everyone is back at work, the children are older and we all have our lives to live but I would hate to lose the friendship of all the ladies on here. If only as Dal suggests, everyone could just bob in a couple of times a week and say hi? Glad and for you that you have got all your christmas shopping out of the way...I had every intention of doing the same but the DIY got in the way

Dal glad you have had little or no ill effects from the jab...and now you have the peace of mind that you, Dylan and the baby are protected.

yet again not much time to post much today but had to share this mornings giggles....Alex came into our bed at 6.30 (a good time by recent standards and only 2 wake ups at 1.00 and 5.00 before that!) and Dh tried to get him to lay quitely until the alarm went 'beep' asking "do you understand?"..."yeh, yeh, yeh!" drawled Alex!!! and proceeded to jump up and down flapping his arms saying "Alex's a bird!",.."what sort of bird?" says I "A robin?" "No! A parrot! Squalk squalk!"..."oh?" says Dh "And what does a parrot have on his face?" expecting to Alex to say 'beak' instead there is a little silence and back comes the answer " a smile!!!!"

Oh and while I remember we are trying to teach him that little hills are "hillocks" after fil swore at a speeing driver with Alex in his arms and the similar word beginning with "P" was sung all round Tescos much to his grandparents embarrassment! (that'll teach fil to guard his tongue won't it?)

OP posts:
WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 25/11/2009 19:56

LLL - I'm sure it's not the end - we always come back even if rl gets a bit busy for a while. Very impressive with your Christmas shopping - I've got a couple of bits but it's going a bit slowly!

Dal - glad you enjoyed your aquanatal.

NC - brilliant news about the scan - you must be relieved you don't need the D&C.

FT - at Alex being a parrot with a smile - awwww. Can't wait until Anya gets to that stage of talking.

I did pop in to CAB yesterday but the queue was huge and I only get half an hour for lunch - one bloke said he'd already been there 2 hours and he's had to wait up to 6 before now - only about half the volunteers ever turn up. I'll have to organise to see a solicitor instead - think most of them give the first hour free? - haven't had the chance to find one and phone up though.

I took Anya to the Trafford Centre today - I got her a dressing gown and slippers for Christmas. She was such hard work today - every time I put her down she beetled off so I spent most of the time going "Anya, where've you gone, come back here" in a very stern tone of voice - to no effect. It's nice that she's independent and happy to explore on her own, but it's a nightmare trying to keep some degree of control!

She's just come back downstairs demanding yoghurt - she's terrible at going to bed these days. She's eating about 4 yoghurts a day at the moment - she would eat more if we let her!

Hi Ladies,

If there is anyone who wants to join the Secret Santa 2009 then can you email me please??

So far there are only 3 ladies interested.

xxx

Dalrymps · 26/11/2009 17:26

Hey ladies

Floria- Aww at Alex the smiling parot ! Hillocks good luck with that one

WWAJC - Sorry it's been difficult getting advice from CAB/solicitors so far, hope you get some helpful advice soon. I found it a total nightmare trying to contact the CAB here when I needed advice and gave up in the end

Dylan is also always 'beetling off' if we let him walk around shops it takes both of us just to grab a few things and watch him when we pop to the coop! He's so fast and grabs random things off the shelves and doesn't always come back when asked

Inzi- Post holiday blues are the worst! Looks like you had a wonderful time from your pics. Try and think about christmas, maybe that'll cheer you up a bit? Oh and the fact that you're so thin and pretty !

Come back and tell us all about it anyway!

Dylan is being so sweet lately (in between tantrums ). Today he saw a picture of someone singing and said 'singing!' then proceded to reptend to sing going 'ah la la'. I popped to the loo when he was upstairs with me and he came running up saying 'wee wee' and passed me the loo roll

Just enjoying an hour to myself in which to dye my hair, dh has taken Dylan to grannies whilst he does some food shoppping so i#m on here and watching trashy tv whilst my hair colour develops

I must do some christmas shopping, i've bought one thing for dh, some stuff for Dylan and ordered one present online for sil, got so much to get eek!

Les - I'd love to do secret santa but we're really skint at the moment and can only just afford presents for close family. Thanks for offering to organise it though... Maybe i'll be able to afford it next year.

NeedCoffee · 26/11/2009 19:20

Hi all
See LLL, we're busy again. I've done the majority of my shopping too, mostly online, just need to remember to pick things up from the shops that i've got them delivered to and then I can never remember where I've put them

Hi to everyone else, am keeping up but so busy, I'll have to reply another day, trying to get assignments done, I HATE them, don't know what possessed me.

LES-have emailed you

strawberrylace · 26/11/2009 22:35

hello!
just have to post to say hello! I am still here but feel i have nothing exciting to say, as i seem to do nothing but work and sleep...
NC - glad there's no need for more hospital treatment, but hope you feel 100% soon
LLL - i need to get organised on the xmas front
Floria - I love Alex's little conversations - Olly is also so cute now that you can talk about things with him and he has a lovely pronunciation of things, like poofpaste for toothpaste...
WWAJC - Olly is great if we go to Tescos (he recognises 'shopping' a mile off worryingly) but I spent ages chasing him round a big shoe shop the other day cos he wouldn't stand still and was taking no notice of my cross voice
Dal - i want ice-cream! But i am going to have giant choc buttons instead (i have lost 60lbs/over 4 stone now so I am treating myself!!)
Inzi - it's nice to have you back, even if you are missing the beach
TLES - i got my SS message, and will be off to shop tomorrow...
And hello to everyone else. i love our little haven of toddler happiness xx

babyblue3 · 27/11/2009 00:14

Hi ladies May I join? I have a DD who was born in October 2007 and would love to chat with ladies going through the terrible 2s as well. I am on mat leave right now (DS is 4 months old), so its nice to have some adult chat time once in a while!

Dalrymps · 27/11/2009 08:12

Morning ladies

Welcome babyblue3

I have a ds, Dylan born 30th Oct 07 and am pregnant with number 2, due 6th March.

We're a friendly bunch, once you settle in you'll not want to leave

Post as much or as little as you like, looking forward to hearing all about your ds and dd

NC - Hope you get your assignments done, you'll be glad when they're out of the way!

Stawberry - hey! great to hear from you. Sorry you're working a lot at the mo...

I love the things they say at the moment too . Dylan was trying to sing twinkle twinkle little star yesterday, so sweet!

Well, Dylan decided to wake at 6.15 today I'm not even sure why... Earliest he usually rises is around 7. He was crying a bit so I went in and he was fine anyway, just brought him in to our bed for some cuddles, he wasn't interested in any more sleep. Brought him down and gave him breakfast in case he was just hungry but he decided he was 'stuck' in his highchair after about 5 minutes so we abandoned that and I gave him some calpol in case his teeth are bothering him, they were yesterday so it could just be that.

He's fine at the moment, just emptying a pack of nappies all over the lounge

Apart from slight tiredness I quite enjoyed getting up early as most mornings dh has already set off to work by the time Dylan wakes so I just say bye from bed then don't see him really. We had a nice breakfast together so it felt like a proper start to the day

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 28/11/2009 13:41

Inzi - sounds like your holiday was wonderful and hope that you're not suffering too much with the post-holiday blues.

Dal - awww Dylan is so sweet - makes the tantrums bearable! It seems to be that time for teeth again - Anya's having restless nights complaining of pain in her mouth - at least she can tell me now!

NC - hope you got your assignments done.

Strawberry - well done with the weight loss - chocolate buttons sound yummy.

Babyblue - welcome! I have a dd Anya. You must have your hands full with a 4mo as well!

Anya needs to drop her afternoon nap I think. She doesn't sleep now if she's out during the day but she will have an hour+half at least after lunch if we're at home. Yesterday dh hadn't taken her out all day while I was at work because of rain (don't get me started on the arguments we have about whether to get a second car) plus she'd had a sleep after lunch so she was bouncing off the walls when I got home at teatime. It was 10:30 by the time she eventually fell asleep in her own bed. So I'm not going to let her nap over the weekend and see how we get on - I can't cope not having any time to do anything in an evening!

Hope all you ladies are having a good weekend
x
