Thought I'd start a new thread as as soon as evie pops we're bound to fill it hugely and some of us have phones to work with!

OP posts:

Ewe · 17/09/2009 21:51

Woohoooo! Thread here.

ilovegreenbeans · 17/09/2009 21:52

ewe- i put my buttercream in the fridge to set a bit, then whip it up again just before I ice the cupcakes. Yum!
hi bumpy!
dd 18m today- feel like babyhood is gone. Talking slowly coming on here- ball, car, makka pakka, etc... the usual!
xo

Ewe · 17/09/2009 22:00

Ahh yes, that is a good idea ilgb! Wish I had read this twenty mins ago, it was a bit tricky icing them as was quite gloopy. DP was way better at doing the icing than I was which is a tad depressing.

We just tasted one and they are delicious, I can't believe I made something so fluffy and spongy!

FfreckleFface · 17/09/2009 23:02

I'll venture in, from the shire. I think a March 08 presence is very much called for.

Will prob need much help with clothing etc as I lack all of your fancy London ways...

(bloke is back)

Ewe · 17/09/2009 23:07

Hurrah for bloke being back and you coming to the meet up! At this rate, we could have our own table

merryberry · 18/09/2009 16:03

i have one slightly lumpy double sofa bed for meet attendee. big drawback: close to boys room, ensuring whole house wake up at 6am, usually.

FfreckleFface · 19/09/2009 10:01

Merryberry, that's really generous. Would you mind if I took you up on it? Definitely a more attractive proposition than getting back to Paddington for the last train back to the shire, stopping at every station on the way. (Fast trains only run in the daytime-it takes an hour and three quarters on the slow one...)

Remember my silly comment about being jealous. Ha! I was soooooo wrong. I am still in bed. I am drinking a cup of tea that was brought to me, and reading a law book in preparation for next week. Bloke, Ff and the dogs are all out running off excess energy, and I took no part in the whole up/breakfast/nappy/clothes process for the first time in goodnes knows how long.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Bumpy, nice to see you again, don't be a stranger.

merryberry · 19/09/2009 11:49

sold to the Ff lady, you are very welcome. hope i can stay up late enough meself

merryberry · 19/09/2009 17:19

dontpanic you appear to be stalking sir derek jacobi for night garden autographs on twitter...where on earth are you????

Dontpanic · 19/09/2009 19:49

Lol! In Swansea at a Dr Who convention, he's one of the guests.

littleducks · 20/09/2009 09:51

Hiya bumpyandfrumpy and crashfistfight long time no see

Parenting isnt joyous here atm, ds has a cold so is whinging (did resort to calpol night and it is veryt effective but feel like a bad mother ignoring guidelines) dd woke up at 22pm last night and threw up over bed and was very cross about it

JFly i just had to stop reading you fb updates as the pictures made me so really does seem like 'fall' in some of them

I am loving the evening class, though the psychology hwk is very hard as it gives me scheduled child free time

Ds kissed a little girl in the park yesterday while out with dh, to dhs horror I realiseed when reading him his fav book (one of those bright baby ones with nice clear photos) that he thought that girl in park was the same as one in book! Hence the over familiratity!

How are we doing for words? Ds says "Me up" almost constantly at the moment

Oh shit have just noticed a sries of ten pencil lines about half a metre long at various heights from 0.5m to 2m up creating a stripe pattern on my sitting room wall (behind sofa facing tv so not easliy noticed)
am now off to interrogate dd

merryberry · 22/09/2009 10:26

i want a job. need a diff kind of overwork

littleducks, hope the wall is pristine once more

JFly · 22/09/2009 19:25

Littleducks, I saw an ad for the perfect product: magic eraser. It's one of those JML-type things. I'm gonna get one as G has just started with crayons and I'm anticipating a little graffiti here and there.

Question for the group: anyone ever done a car boot sale? I'm going to try one or two as a fundraising event. I'm sure there are "rules" and I don't want to get on the wrong side of any chavs seasoned car booters at the dog track. And what is a "hardstanding pitch"?

Ewe · 24/09/2009 08:04

Those magic erasers are brilliant! They are actual magic.

Have uni interview this afternoon where we have an informal chat and I find out if I have a place please all think positive thoughts for me! MD should be getting back to me today too so a big day for me. I feel a bit sick.

HolidaysQueen · 24/09/2009 09:25

Good luck Ewe - I was just wondering about whether you had heard yet or not. Fingers crossed!

Last day before holiday I love working 3 days a week - means you take 2 working weeks off but get the extra days either end for free so it's almost 3 weeks . A few days buzzing around London with DH and DS then we're off to Mauritius next week for sunshine First time flying with mobile DS (there are some advantages to a later crawler/walker), so it could be interesting...

CricketsMum · 24/09/2009 10:21

Mauritius?? HQ I am sooooo jealous. (Although I don't have the strength for a long flight with dd).

Off work sick and dd is at CM. Can't tel you how mice it is to be able to actually be ill and just lie in bed and sleep and watch crap telly. Was off yesterday and chain-watched X Factor. Am now all up to date

Ewe - Fingers crossed!

CricketsMum · 24/09/2009 10:22

seems i am properly ill.

let's try that again.

can't tell you how nice it is....

Ewe · 24/09/2009 16:25

Woohooooooo!!!! I got in!!!!

bumpyandfrumpy · 24/09/2009 16:57

Many congrats Ewe...what does work say? Now that you'll have loads of time on your hands be really busy we'll have to meet up a bit!

FfreckleFface · 24/09/2009 18:09

Well done Ewe, that's fab! Being a student again is great, you'll love it. I am beyond knackered though - have had full days of lectures all week, have been finishing off a big freelance job in the evenings, and have my first exam on Sat.

Waves at everyone, sorry for rubbish post.

HolidaysQueen · 24/09/2009 18:51

HURRAY!!!!

pantshavenames · 25/09/2009 10:49

well done Ewe. can't believe all of you that have the energy...I'm feeling a little jaded by another couple of months of 5 o'clock starts. She had a brief time at the start of the summer when she wasn't waking until 6.30 but it didn't last and now it's dark

If I can have a PFB moment here please. DS has been at school for 2 whole weeks now and he's found it quite tough, because he doesn't know anyone there but today he was given a certificate for all round wondrousness (I paraphrase) in assembly. . Hooray!

Ewe · 25/09/2009 12:11

Thank you ladies! Work STILL haven't got back to me, they will today though apparently but I don't care anymore. I will make it work regardless!

I went to orientation last night and joined the Politics and Philosophy Society (check me out!). It was good fun and full of lovely people so I am really looking forward to it.

pants - 5am starts sound hideous, you poor thing, weekend lie ins an option?

Ewe · 25/09/2009 20:01

Work have approved me doing two days per week, I am so happy and excited

Not going to happen immediately, will probably be a couple of months. Perfect timing for me to come over and hang around with bumpy and boys!

merryberry · 27/09/2009 14:03

great news ewe and pants
