Thought I'd start a new thread as as soon as evie pops we're bound to fill it hugely and some of us have phones to work with!

Congrats turtle on the home birth you wanted I really hope T gets well soon and you can bring him home asap.

My hosp appt went as well as can be expected. Scan showed mc was complete and blood test confirmed hormones had dropped right down so they said that everything had happened naturally and I don't need to see them again. I'm pleased - I couldn't bear the thought of it being medicalised and dragging on, so I'm glad it all happened naturally. I've had as easy a ride as can be expected physically, but I am now just completely exhausted. And like you say JFly, I just feel sad. At the moment I'm not too emotional but I'm just tired and sad But DH and I are talking and we'll get back to normality. He has already said he wants to try straight away but I think I want to enjoy the run up to Christmas rather than be worrying about TTC so maybe the new year.

Poor DS has been fairly unsettled going to bed since it all happened on Friday but he went down slightly easier tonight, and he was a real gem when my friends looked after him today while we were at hospital. So I took him out for dinner for a special treat and we both had a really lovely time

Anyway I've just enjoyed Gu chocolate cheesecake and I'm now off to bed!

Just a flying visit to say Congratulations Turtle

Meg - very sorry to hear your news, and hope you're taking care of yourself x

Our house news is that we're moving out in 2 weeks time, and we didn't get the house we were after, so looks like we'll be at parents for the foreseeable future

timmyinatizzy · 17/11/2009 22:16

Shamelessley been lurking since coming back from holiday. Lots to catch up on.

Congrats to Turtle and baby T. Sending lots of hugs.

HQ/Meg - Hope the move goes well despite the recent setbacks and before xmas, and to hear about your recent news.

Ewe - Its sounds as if things are going your way now and sorted. Hope the uni course turns out fab

Ff - Am at your child free weekend!

Littleducks - How is everyone? I agree DH's are sooo annoying when they are at home for prolonged periods and disturb the routine.

Quick update from me is that nothing changes! DSD's mum is still on and off the scene whenever it suits her, at the moment we're on! But who knows what'll happen in the next few weeks . They're growing up fast and were 11 last month and start Secondary School next September, eeeek.

L is doing really well. His language is growing day by day, and the baby signing we did is paying off big time. He still cries when he is dropped of at nursery, thought he may have got a bit used to it by now. Unfortunetly one of his current keyworkers will be going on maternity leave soon, the second on in 3 months!!! Think there is something in the water . And he is sitting on a potty too. Was pretty when nursery told me, but apparently all his friends sit on one so he wants too. We didn't even have one at home, but apparently he is very comfortable on it and has to be bribed to get off of it. The only thing is he is yet to produce any wee in it .

Right, thats a bit of an essay, so I'll think about going to bed now. Night night

timmyinatizzy · 17/11/2009 22:19

Oooo forgot to say JFly and Don't Panic good luck with the doggie fundraising

Dontpanic · 18/11/2009 20:53

Dontpanic · 18/11/2009 20:54

crashfistfight · 19/11/2009 12:46

Congratulations Turtle and BabyTurtle! Hope you are home soon.

merryberry · 19/11/2009 22:52

hope turtle is back soon. sounding better now on fb.

who's going to the xmas do end of month? Ff is being forced to stay in and >mother< her child , will i see anyone else marchmums there? meet for a drink before if i can't get oiled while doing girly make up (my style hasn't changed since about 1993, so really it is a bit girly) with her.

Ewe · 20/11/2009 12:50

I will be coming mb, only if you are def coming though as I am a scaredy cat. Could definitely do with some dutch courage beforehand. I think Derah is coming too but she hasn't been seen around these parts for a while...

merryberry · 20/11/2009 15:41

sure i'll be there. went to a good pub with SoF beforehand last time. will ferret around for its details. was very close.

merryberry · 20/11/2009 16:38

sledding ladies, small donations made, sorry not larger. jfly i've hidden the amount on yours for the simple reason i wanted toplay with the button and see how it works

Dontpanic · 20/11/2009 20:17

Thanks MB, that's great!

turtle23 · 23/11/2009 08:18

JFly · 23/11/2009 18:27

Stop playing with my buttons, Merry.

Thanks so much for donation!! Every little helps.

turtle23 · 25/11/2009 10:25

Anybody want to bring their toddler round to play with P? He's going mad. I can't go out today because of midwife arriving with no notice. I can't really face the playground alone yet...how do I keep him busy????

OP posts:
merryberry · 25/11/2009 11:05

if you can stand to clear it up, a few containers and some rice and lentils mixed together with different spoons and bowls for moving the dry goods around, endlessly. gg will go an hour+ at a time with this.

make him a blanket house, with a bed inside, have him put a teddy to bed in it. repeatedly.

megonthemoon · 25/11/2009 11:57

I second the pretend cooking. Do you have a dishwasher - can he load and unload spoons and plastic cups and such like? This keeps DS entertained for hours. Also putting clothes in and out of washing machine.

Play shops - just get a collection of random tins/boxes/fruit and get P to put them in a bag and walk round the house dragging it behind and then unload into a cupboard?

Sending "Hurry up midwife!!!!" vibes your way

merryberry · 25/11/2009 14:06

oh lord, and balloons. always have some balloons for days like this. a few blown up, bobs your uncle.

Ewe · 25/11/2009 21:52

God I am tired, the last 24hrs has been full of meetings, stroppy clients, stroppy toddlers, lectures, seminars, reading, essay plans and now I feel exhausted!

I am free Sat morning turtle if you fancied doing something - think it's going to be pissing down though!

turtle23 · 26/11/2009 08:20

Thanks, all...have called in reinforcements today.
Ewe- that sounds lovely. What do you fancy doing? I will have to learn to go out with two at some point, so may as well be Saturday!

OP posts:
timelordvictorious · 26/11/2009 09:49

Hiya, 'tis I, the ffreckly one. Fancied a name change and since I have now watched Waters of Mars four times this seemed appropriate. Dontpanic, I have been wanting to discuss it with you - what did you think?

How are you all getting along, Turtle? The pictures are boootiful.

Merry and Ewe, I am truly gutted about Saturday. I'm such a loser I had even planned on buying a paper on Sunday as a treat to read cover to cover on my solitary coach ride home. Sigh.

Still loving the course, but every now and then when I get a chance to think I do wonder if I've bitten off a bit more than I can chew. But all is good for now.

Meg, how are you? Any house progress?

Happy Thanksgiving to those of you celebrating today.

merryberry · 26/11/2009 10:23

uhoh Ff going a bit power crazed then methinks such a shame about saturday...who else is going then?

megonthemoon · 26/11/2009 10:50

oh tlv, you shouldn't have asked. the temptation to tell you all the whole sodding story in intricate detail is almost too much to resist.

suffice to say, we are on our 4th attempt to exchange, we thought it would happen at 9am (as they tried to start it at 5pm last night but most of the solicitors had gone home so we thought there were no remaining ishoos), but i have still heard nothing and my solicitor who promised to find out what's going on has not called back despite me talking to her 45 mins ago.

Aaaaaargh!

TBH I have so much invested in this now. Tis the only thing stopping me from completely breaking down over my mc I think. If we get the house I'll feel like it is a fresh start, something to look forward to etc. If this all falls through then I'm not sure what I'll feel like - stuck in same old house without the baby to look forward to.

Gah!

On a brighter note, turtle - how are things? are you getting any sleep? things calm with DH? P being nice to his baby brother?

Happy Thanksgiving, Americans! I might have a turkey sandwich for lunch in your honour, although pecan pie is more to my taste!

turtle23 · 26/11/2009 10:54

Sorry, did somebody say something to me? I'm...snooooooooooooooorrrrrrrrrrre...
Hope house all goes ok Meg.
I had a riotous night involving puking toddler, screaming baby, ripped stitch and my knee going out. But you know what? I survived to tell the tale. I am impressed with myself, even if I can't remember my own name!

OP posts:
megonthemoon · 26/11/2009 11:37

I am impressed with you too You seem impossibly together considering you have not only a newborn but even more demanding toddler as well - I'm struggling with just the toddler at the moment!

But ugh to ripped stitch! Hope it doesn't cause you any pain and that everything is basically healed anyway.
