Omigod - I know I'm old now. Went to a lovely spa for a onight stay with g/friend. Stayed up drinking till 4.30am and still woke at 6.30am. Knackered whole day and in bed by 8pm - still grumpy today - so will need another early night! but dh coped well with ds on his own. (well they are both still alive!)

dolbear · 06/08/2005 14:15

hewlettsdaughter · 09/08/2005 11:10

I don't know about the rest of you with two (or more), but I'm forever telling the older one to be more gentle with the younger one or less in her face - and then I find she's chuckling away and loving whatever he's doing!

DS is 6 as of yesterday. We had a party on Sunday - went to the local park and played cricket, badminton etc, then came home for sandwiches, jelly and ice cream and cake

hewlettsdaughter · 09/08/2005 11:10

are ds's spots any better dolbear?

Chuffed · 09/08/2005 11:13

Oh and it was such a nice day too HD. Has it gone just incredibly fast as the last 16mths has just flown by with dd.

hewlettsdaughter · 09/08/2005 11:15

Pretty fast! Can't believe I have a six year old. Am at home with both kids today, we have just been to the park again - v. hot already!

handlemecarefully · 09/08/2005 11:33

Happy belated birthday for your not so little one HD, and sounds like you had a fab night out on TracyK - but you certainly paid for it afterwards!

Quiet on here isn't it? - is everybody out enjoying the sunshine do you think

TracyK · 09/08/2005 12:04

I'm at work surfing - looking for a business for sale so that I can give up working in an office. It's amazing how quickly 4 hours goes when you're skiving!

Chuffed · 09/08/2005 13:51

no running around in the sun for me. I'm at work skiving too but trying to research accomodation options for our trip.
Still a few places we need to get sussed and find out about before we are finalised.

handlemecarefully · 09/08/2005 14:00

I'm definitely skiving at work - tbh I do little else

dolbear · 09/08/2005 22:20

out and about for me today , managed to slink off to J lewis for a spot of r-theropy !
the blisters have popped-healed and none have appeared for a week , still lots of little pin prick size spots on his feet , could be prickly heat again now !! bloomin heck , going to continue with the pireten , those of you who are in the know - is there any chance of too much stuffing up his amune system and cause more allergic re-actions later on ? or is this me being paranoid

TracyK · 10/08/2005 08:53

Don't know Dolbear - can you give less than a full dose each time? I'm v. wary of giving ds anything - unless the symtoms are unbearable and really needs whatever. iykwim.

lunavix · 10/08/2005 14:51

Hi everyone, ds seems like he is growing up so fast at the moment, does any of the other 15 mo old ds/dd do pretend play already? He sits in front of a doll in a highchair and feeds her with a spoon and bowl or bottle for ages... I have to stare he seems far too young to understand about pretend food!

He's doing about 9 steps now so we're getting there. The odd word occassionally. He's started screaming, full on screeches if something isn't going his way, and we're getting a tantrum or 8 a day, although yesterday he had two naps (has been on one for about the last 5 weeks) and not one tantrum. Sadly today he's refusing the second nap

YG - you feeling better?

Chuffed · 10/08/2005 18:02

lunavix we get a bit of pretend play now and again, she was reading to her teddy the other day.
She is off nursery again at the mo as question hand/food/mouth disease or chicken pox. She is covered in a rash but is totally herself so not sure what is going on.
Got our Romanian visa and dropped our passports off at the Belarus embassy today. It is all coming together.

hewlettsdaughter · 10/08/2005 19:27

You must be getting excited, Chuffed

lunavix - dd has the 'Goodnight Freckles' cloth story book from the early learning centre. She likes to feed Freckles (the teddy) from the bottle that you find in the fridge (despite having hardly drunk from a bottle herself, lol!)

TracyK · 11/08/2005 08:43

Yes ds feeds all his teddies and me and dh from his bottle and makes the sooking noise. He has also started giving great big hugs (arms are long enough now to get right round our shoulders) and patting us on the back - so cute! also does this to his teddies.
He also climbs up onto our bed in the morning while we're getting ready and tucks himself under our duvet and watches cartoons.
Each stage of his development has been so cute that I can't believe he's going to get any cuter - but he does!

lunavix · 11/08/2005 09:19

I can't wait for ds to get into bed with us. He can't climb up there yet or onto the sofa, give it time!

MrsDoolittle · 11/08/2005 10:03

What day do you leave Chuffed?
We are going on the 26th and I've hardly thought about it yet!!! Dh has done all the bookings.
We are going to spend a few romantic days in Rotorua and leave dd with her Kiwi Granny.

Chuffed · 11/08/2005 10:47

28th - can't quite picture travelling for that long as have never done it but we'll live and learn I suppose.
That'll be cool in Rotorua and it'll be good for dd to spend time with Kiwi Granny. We've been doing 'goodnight' to each nana, poppa and aunty in NZ each night before bed so hopefully she'll be familiar (sort of) with them before we arrive.

hewlettsdaughter · 11/08/2005 11:52

MrsD - will that be you leaving Oxford for good? I am off work next week if you fancy getting together before you go?

weesaidie · 11/08/2005 23:09

Hi

Not sure I am in the right place but can I join? My dd was born April 2004!! Have been on mumsnet awhile now but never sure how these post natal groups work!

Anyway, my dd is gorgeous (obviously) and is from a 'broken home' altho it broke before she was born. Still sees her daddy lots though, at least twice a week.

Am not breastfeeding, only managed to about 10 months when I felt she was losing interest and I kind of wanted my body back!

Look after dd full time at the moment but not for much longer as am going back to Uni (to do Journalism BA) at the end of September. She is fairly independent but still a bit worried about putting her in nursery!

I will leave it at that for the moment!

My dd loved swimming when on holiday last year but this year really not happy!

Felt bad when I saw a French baby going into the lake and loving it! Really should take my dd to the swimming pool more but have been put off by the last time (in April) when she just clung to and whinged!

Chuffed · 12/08/2005 07:32

Hey weesaidie come join us. dd born right at end of March but as I did pregnancy with everybody I have continued in the March 04 babies

YG so glad you are feeling better how much of your hols have you got left then?

Well took dd up to A&E at the hospital yesterday as her rash is spreading and I still couldn't see anything on her hands, feet or mouth to make it the supposed hand/foot/mouth that nursery thought she might have as one other little boy had it. Also the Dr on Tuesday said to keep an eye out for itching and no itching.
Anyway she has a virus that is in the family of 'measles/rubella' but not those. Luckily I'm rubella positive and past my 12wks but we now have to keep her away from any pregnant people just in case, and hopefully the rash will pass in 4-5days. There goes our last week at work
She is fine in herself although a bit grumpy as the weather is lovely and she has been stuck inside with minimal trips to the park avoiding other kids and is a bit bored.
Well my turn at work today I've had the last 2 off, have a good day everybody.

TracyK · 12/08/2005 08:40

Welcome weesaidie - I presume you are in Scotland? I'm hoping to move back there later this year (crossed fingers).
Hope dd is ok Chuffed and that you are feeling better YG.
Picked up ds from nursery yesterday and their heating is on already! It was like a sauna and ds was sweating buckets. It was still on this morning - I wonder if I should complain?
