ds had a little friend round to play the other day - and boy did he howl when the other little boy picked up one of his toys. should I just perservere for him to share and have friends round more often?
he's fine at nursery - but then they aren't 'his' toys.

TracyK · 02/08/2005 11:58

MrsD - go to formes - fabby troos - lasted me right through my pg.
or I've just been looking on ebay - they do Gap maternity from USA.

MrsDoolittle · 02/08/2005 12:06

Thanks Tracy - their Autumn stuff isn't online yet.

Chuffed · 02/08/2005 12:15

Mrs D have replied to the other thread

MrsDoolittle · 02/08/2005 12:17

Thank you

dot1 · 02/08/2005 13:50

Mrs D - I know! but I just loved giving him his bottle sooooooo much..! Miss it now...

hewlettsdaughter · 02/08/2005 16:58

HMC - I notice there's a new thread on Niger active at the mo. Was it last weekend you did your car boot sale? How did it go?

hewlettsdaughter · 02/08/2005 17:00

Chuffed - when are you off again?

dolbear · 02/08/2005 22:10

HELLO
ds still on the bottle and offers no sign of giving up , keep trying but no go may have to get tough - yuk
glad ds is not the only child to have a slap fettish thanx to my friend who has a very patient little dog - he has learned not to 'hit' animals but not mum and dad - also has habit of 'chucking' everything just to see what happens at what point does experimenting become naughty ?

We're off at the end of August, off to the Romanian embassy this morning to try to get our visas - hope we can fast track them a little as we also have to get Belarus ones and they say the Romanian one can take up to 30days which could make us run out of time.
YG you are doing better than us, we haven't been on the tube or bus since 7/7, walk and cycle only.
Anyone know the easiest way to get from Dubrovnik to Tirana Albania? We're finding a few spots in the itinerary a bit tough.

dolbear · 04/08/2005 13:09

er sorry chuffed not a clue
YG high wycombe thats where I live !! where abouts ?
ds has developed small blistered spots which we beleive to be some kind of allergy to what , no idea neather of us have any so could be a toddler thing or will have to strat to ilimate the only thing i have changed is floor wipes - bought cheapy tescos instead of detol

LucyJones · 04/08/2005 13:52

Hi everyone. We're off on holiday at the weekend so of course ds decided now was a good time to come down with weepy, sore bits so we're going to the doctors this afternoon. Probably more teeth coming through - he seems to have most of them now!!

Chuffed · 04/08/2005 13:58

ooh hope the holiday goes off okay LJ.
dolbear where are the blistered spots on ds? Let us know how the change if floor wipes goes.

dolbear · 04/08/2005 14:49

the blisters are on the bottom of his feet , palms of hands and the bottom of his bum IYSWIM, which leads me to think of floor as his bum is only spotty and not blistered , perhaps because of the reduced contact , we were painting on the kiten fllor , which I cleaned up with wipes and took off his nappy for a bit while I cleaned him up ( not with floor wipes )

Chuffed · 04/08/2005 15:03

sounds like it could be that - you didn't use a different wipe or anything to clean him up did you.
They do have some pretty harsh chemicals in wipes.

MrsDoolittle · 04/08/2005 15:38

Oooh nasty! But I have to agree with you - I would question the wipes first.

dolbear · 04/08/2005 17:13

i used same baby wipes as always to wipe off the paint and the paint was ALL OVER and the spots only on hands and feet usualy use the detol floor wipes and this was the 1st ever used tesco , bit of a coisidence i feel they don't seeem to bother him , not itchy or painfull and they don't seem to be spreading either
just as he was recovering from prickly heat as well he looks v scarey and spotty

Might be hand, foot and mouth disease dolbear. That causes blisters on hands, feet and also mouth. It's a viral thing and not at all serious, so don't worry if you think it is that.

Thanks for asking Hewlettsdaughter, my car boot sale in aid of Niger was supposed to be last weekend, but we were rained off on both days! It's not that I'm a wimp, but no point in getting the stuff rain damaged, plus fewer punters about in inclement weather! Am doing it this w/end instead (forecast is good). The good thing is that I have now received so many donated items from friends and family, I will have to borrow a ford escort van in order to transport everything.

Dot - my ds drinks from a bottle and holds it himself too. Was walking along the shoreline at Cowes (Isle of Wight - didn't spot Fennel ) yesterday with ds supping his milk from a bottle - perfecting the chav look! I have half heartedly tried to get him to take it from a beaker but he refuses, and I can't be bothered to persist. He takes all other drinks from a beaker.

I am so loving my kids right now. Ds is a champion cuddler - he gives me such tight squeezes and contented little looks and sighs. DD is a precocious, entertaining and complex 3 yr old.

dot1 · 05/08/2005 13:41

HMC - has your 3 year old gone through a whingey phase?! Our ds1 is driving us bonkers with a kind of constant whinging/whining..! Having said that, both ds's have been playing together much better recently - playing with footballs and sharing toys - it's wonderful, and really heart-warming!

handlemecarefully · 05/08/2005 13:55

She has whinging days rather than whinging phases - so she'll get out of bed the wrong side and moan about everything and whine on the odd day, but be okay for the rest of the week.... She might do this a couple of times per week. But I just tell her to quit whinging and shut up (being the caring mum that I am)

It is lovely seeing them enjoying each other isn't it? I love it when ds gives dd a goodnight kiss. He purses his lips and goes 'uummmmm' and she half strangles him in a headlock which passes for a cuddle I think!

dot1 · 05/08/2005 15:07

Yes, the 'bonding' games get a bit rough here aswell - the latest one was ds1 playing 'knock down Dylan skittles' (his title!!), which involved him running past ds2 at great speed and knocking him over!!! Ds2 loved it It was quite sweet that ds1 was careful to knock him over gently, and only on grass - I suppose it's the best we can hope for!!
