YG - I think dp probably sometimes feels that way about having me around! But she's fab - we're a pretty good partnership really, which is maybe 'cos we're both women - none of the stereotypical role thing happens?!

Haven't prewashed them yet- so they may get a go this weekend if they dry in time.

Wow - we have so much to do. We are a good way through working out our itinerary now and just have to find all our accomodation now we have worked out buses/trains/ferries and how long we are spending in each place. It appears we will be on the road for about 55 days. So excited though. Dd has just started to hit when she wants you to stop doing something not sure where she has got that from as we haven't smacked her but for example last night she was moving the chair to the bench to stand up and the oven had some things on it so I started to push the chair back and she started hitting my hand to let go. I'm trying to ignore it at the moment but not quite sure how to handle it.

TracyK · 02/08/2005 08:57

Does she see it from the other children at nursery? ds slaps at things and pushes the dog/my leg out of the way sometimes. He also has a bad habit it smacking me in the face! blooming sore.

Chuffed · 02/08/2005 09:17

yes she does that sometimes too and it especially hurts when she gets all enthusiastic with a book and bonks you one.
She may be picking it up in the nursery it is just she only does it to stop you doing something perfect timing if you know what I mean.

TracyK · 02/08/2005 09:41

I have to anticipate ds bonking me with things too and get my hand out in time. although I let him do it to dh when he's asleep on the couch - lazy bugger!
His new trick is to get a baby wipe, fold it in half and try and blow his nose with it. He is FINALLY getting used to having his snotty nose wiped and will stand reasonably still for it.

MrsDoolittle · 02/08/2005 09:57

I've got dd to put her hand over her mouth when she coughs. She sometimes coughs just to demonstrate the new skill

dot1 · 02/08/2005 10:58

ds2's going through a massively jealous phase at the moment - will howl like it's the end of the world if we're cuddling ds1! He's also taken to insisting on holding his own bottle of milk - so that might be the end of bottles soon - he's only been having them because it was so lovely giving him a bottle - if he's going to insist on doing it himself he can have it in a flipping cup!!

dot1 · 02/08/2005 10:59

Chuffed - 55 days on the road!!! I'm in awe - I get stressed if we're taking the boys to Birmingham!

MrsDoolittle · 02/08/2005 11:00

Still having a bottle?
I'm far too lazy for that. I stopped dd's bottle at Christmas, she's helped herself since then. I doubt she would let me give her a drink either!!

Chuffed · 02/08/2005 11:49

No dd is too independent for us to help her do almost anything. dd been on sippy cups for ages too.
I'm sure our trip will be a bit of a challenge but remember there is just the one at the mo, we were going to do it next year after the second was born and now a little thankful we are doing it with just dd. 55 days with one big backpack for the 3 of us plus day packs will be tough...I'm sure we won't want to see the clothes again after washing and wearing for almost 2 months.

MrsDoolittle · 02/08/2005 11:56

Chuffed - I've been looking for you
