Have you got fuzzi's as well?

I'm trying to get 'no sex specific' ones as bump might be a boy.

MrsDoolittle · 05/07/2005 16:34

Good on you if you manage it Chuffed. I'll be stuffed because dd whole wardrobe including her nappies are very 'girly'

No I've never tried fuzzis although they seem to be popular, I might next time.

MrsDoolittle · 05/07/2005 16:35

Do you have a bump yet?
When is your scan? I've just been given one for September 29 - seems years away

Chuffed · 05/07/2005 16:49

Yes small bump already, had dating scan 2 wks ago, the lady asked how far along I thought I was and I said 11 wks and she looked at me and said you look further along than that. Well I was 10wks 5days but it was a 'big' baby at 41mm so that could be why I'm showing.
Nausea just starting to pass thank goodness. Am sure it's a boy it has been so different from with dd.
If it is a boy he may be wearing a little 'lavendar' with his 'navy'.

Chuffed · 06/07/2005 10:34

MrsD just saw your post about your flight...we're going back to NZ at the end of August too but via Singapore so face similar issues except I'll be 19wks and will be flying by myself from Singapore to Heathrow not sure how dd is going to fit on my knee to be honest.
Just make sure the staff on your flight know you have a quick connection in LA and they may get help. They also flick you through the lines with kids in the States, London is the only place in the world we've been where we didn't get moved ahead in queue for having a little one.
This trip is requiring a bit more forward planning than the others, was thinking of trying to get a small sketcherdoodle or the water drawing and fold it up and put it on dd's tray as she is just loving drawing at the moment.
It'll be fine!

lunavix · 06/07/2005 10:41

Morning!

I'm very excited, we just got a washer dryer. Now ds's tots will be nice and soft!!

we've had a definate 'huwwo' yesterday as ds was copying mindee, he was waving at the time but I'm still unsure he knows what he's doing. Walking doesn't look far off, he can do it holding onto fingers without much support, and also he's crawling on his toes which a friend's dd did right before she walked.

Chuffed what hemp inserts do you use with your fuzzis?

Chuffed · 06/07/2005 11:26

I have a wonderfulls but have just bought a couple of the fuzzi micro inserts.

Fennel · 06/07/2005 11:39

morning. am off to Barcelona shortly for 3 days. with work. am surprisingly enthusiastic (especially as it's raining here). looking forward to escaping home life. and particularly tantrumming 3 year old who's regressing to toddlerdom this week.

Chuffed · 06/07/2005 11:47

Have fun Fennel, good shopping I hear.

dolbear · 06/07/2005 11:58

ooo its lovely la ramblas and all that

Fennel · 06/07/2005 12:14

tapas, wine, sunshine. no children. no toddlers. no teething. no dribbles on my clothes (depending on how much wine we drink i guess)

am not having a maternal day at all. can't wait to skip away from it all

MrsDoolittle · 06/07/2005 15:34

Excellent Fennel - Have fun. You can gloat to the Spanish now that we have won the Olympics

hewlettsdaughter · 06/07/2005 17:39

Fennel, can we all come

Nice to hear news of the pregnancies - keep it coming!

TracyK · 07/07/2005 08:50

Lucky girl Fennel - Barcelona would be lovely with no kids!
ds waking early again. 5.15 am this morning - but did go back to sleep 5.45 - 8.15 and was late for nursery!

dot1 · 08/07/2005 21:27

Hi all,
Well we're off on holiday tomorrow morning - a week in a caravan in Wales - could be hell, could be wonderful...

Chuffed · 09/07/2005 08:51

oooh have a great time dot!...hope the weather is good.

Fennel · 11/07/2005 10:53

hi all. had a great time in barcelona though it was grey and rainy for all 3 days. i had been thinking of going to work there for a couple of years, they have jobs going, but they apparently work 9am-9pm days and no part time work . which doesn't sound much fun really.

dot have a great holiday.

dd3 took 4 steps yesterday. before that she's only ever done one at once.

LucyJones · 11/07/2005 11:13

blimey 9am - 9pm. Not good!! We bought ds his first pair of cruising shoes yesterday. Iw was at Clarks so we got a photo of him, bless! I was a bit aghast at the price (£18) and then she said to come back in 6-8 weeks to see if he's outgrown them

TracyK · 11/07/2005 11:27

We didn't bother with cruising shoes - got ds first pair of normal shoes £24! but he did get 2 or 3 months continuous wear out of them. We got sandals from matalan for £10 which he has worn continuously through the summer - tho is in bare feet most of the time.

MrsDoolittle · 11/07/2005 11:41

We got dd cruising shoes last weekend and we've the same story Lucy Jones. Still they are very cute, they're very pink with light pink flowers on them.

Glad you enjoyed your trip Fennel

Have a great holiday dot! Looks like you're going to have some gorgeous weather.

I wish I could fast forward my life at the moment, I've got so much to look forward to but it's mad. Dd has developed conjunctivitus, she's fine but she can't go to nursery and I have so much work to do atm. Thankfully, dm is going to take her for a week but I shall miss her I have an assignment to be in on Thursday and bloody scary presentation next Monday.
I daren't look forward to our month away as I am worrying about flying with a toddler, I should be excited.
I have just given notice to dd's nursery and told them we are moving. I am now stressing about placing dd in her new nursery (although I know she will be fine). We are moving in November but we don't have a house yet and I'm awfully fussy
Nausea is reminding me why I didn't like being pregnant last time.
So to celebrate my birthday and our 3rd wedding anniversary I have just gone mad and spent a fortune on a weekend break in the Cotswolds. Amongst everything else I can look forward to this , but I am keeping it a surprise from dh who would go absolutely bananas if he knew how much money it is.
Anyone got any tips on how I can make my life less complicated? I always seem to do this to myself.

Fennel · 11/07/2005 12:16

Mrs D for dd going away. your life does sound complicated. mine should be easier after 3 trips away in 3 weeks. depending on if i actually get a new job somewhere else, which would of course totally shake us all up.

dd3 is in second hand cruising shoes . £2 from NCT good as new sale. i do find it hard to believe that she will be crippled by this - otherwise most of the world's population would have wonky feet. but she will get new ones for the first "proper" ones.

TracyK · 11/07/2005 12:18

Blimey MrsD - I'm sure it will get easier soon. Prob is that the more you pack into life - the quicker it flies past! Xmas soon!

handlemecarefully · 11/07/2005 12:21

LJ and Mrs D - they say come back in 6 weeks - but in reality I found that dd's shoes would last her 4 months or so before she needed a bigger size. Too early to say for ds.

Chuffed · 11/07/2005 12:32

Fennel we did the same thing at first as I had tons of hand me down shoes and feet are fine. I think sandals are so much easier for self fitting as it is pretty obvious when they don't fit. We had one pair of shoes that just fitted for a matter of weeks but she must have just had a growth spurt and it was a bit unlucky I think.
MrsD not sure what to recommend except list making - makes things seem so much smaller and gives such a good sense of accomplishment when you can get rid of things.
We'll co-ordinate on ideas for the flight thing but I'm not overly worried about it, I think we'll walk most of the way to NZ doing laps of the plane.
Am very jealous of this jetting off stuff, dh in NY at the moment, 6wks till we go on hols for 10 days then we get to visit Barcelona for 5 days in September. Haven't got accomodation yet though
Enjoy this beautiful weather everybody!

MrsDoolittle · 11/07/2005 13:25

Thanks everyone!
I know it's got to get easier. Can't believe I am aleardy looking forward to mat. leave. I have a thesis to write first!!
