Thanks girls, for letting me start this thread.

Well as Maisiemog and Biglips have said --- I am pregnant!

OMG - once I got over the shock I am now quite excited and dp is absolutely delighted.

EEK - I'm still on maternity leave!

Anyone else got a small age difference between babas - if everything goes O.K there will only be nearly 16 months between them.

Anyway, dd is fine and is now eating happily if not too well - still a bit of a chunkster - but lovely. She is now also drinking water - hurrah!!!!! Still no teeth or crawling but she is creeping backwards and sits up well.

Hope you are all well - still think this parenthood lark can be difficult!

Poor biglips and baba

Went to the baby clinic yesterday for dd to get weighed now 22lbs 5ozs - what a chubster.

There was a sign up saying babies were due compulsory check-ups between 8-12 months and that you will be contacted at around 10 months to arrange a date/time. So perhaps 8 months doesn't really mean 8 months - I'm sure it varies by area?

Tried giving toast this morning this was more of a success as some actually went it which I suppose is better than rejected porridge.

Had my booking appt this morning, my due date has now been moved to 1st Feb.

Hope you are all well.

Biglips, hope baba gets well soon!! We got an appointment through the post about our 8 month check (I really must call to confirm it!) and ds will only be 8 months tomorrow! Like hotmama says though, I shouldn't think any two regions do it the same way!

Bellie · 08/06/2005 18:51

DD had her 8 months check and she is only 7 months one week - so it seems that it really does mean sometime between 6 and 12 months!! Also had letter by post biglips.

DD is on 50th percentile and everything seems to be ok.
hope baba is better biglips

Hi all,

Biglips, is baba any better?

ds has started crawling, he's alarmingly speedy already. He's also got a lot more vocal about his likes and dislikes, he's definitely developed a 'protest cry' and is more of a little boy than a baby every day. Funny how it all seems to go soooo slowly at the beginning and now looking back it seems to have flown by...

Am in pre wedding hell, will not bore you with the detail but the good news is that my fake tan (a spray one) was a success, would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting that 'just holidayed but not orange' look!

geogteach · 08/06/2005 19:28

Well survived my first 2 days at work. Not sure DS2 is so impressed but hard to tell if he is just grouchy at the moment anyway. All my teaching is year 7, so not much of a challenge but the rest of my time has been used being senior teacher on call to deal with discipline problems around the school, maybe looking after 3 kids at home suddenly qualifies me for this enhanced roll?

KathH · 08/06/2005 21:03

Biglips - babymole also had squits, lasted about a week but think he has another tooth coming thru and it seems to affect him like that! we had a card thru the post for 7 - 10 mth check up so maybe they're being mega efficient by him having it next week. DS1 didnt have it till 10 mths. He sat up for the first time yesterday (round of applause please). Geogteach glad work went ok. Docket glad you didnt get tangoed a la Kat Slater!

Bellie · 08/06/2005 21:06

round of applause for KathH ds!!!
geogteach - 3 kids definately qualifies you in my book! - glad to hear that it went well.
Docket try not to get too stressed!

bibiboo · 09/06/2005 15:02

Oooh, well done to all the babies sitting up, clapping hands (mine) and rolling over (not mine), organic rice-cakes all round and wine for the Mums!

Anyone else thought about parties yet? I am going to start arranging a 1st birthday party for dd when I can get over the fact that my lil baby is going to be one in a few months time What a scary thought. Since I've been back in work the time has just flown!

Shameless bump now - new pic of me and dh on memebrs profile ...

x big-headed bibi whi thinks her dh is delish!

CoveredInDribble · 09/06/2005 15:30

Round of applause from me as well!

Have just had to order ds some summer weight grobags for daytime naps, cos he now repeatedly rolls over in his cot - but when he's in his sleeping bag at night, he at least doesn't get legs stuck through the bars!

He doesn't seem to roll back onto his back though (even when not stuck) - am not sure if this is laziness, or because it's a great new game "how many times can we make mummy come and turn me back over" or because when he rolls over, he ends up on one side of his cot, so he hasn't got the required manoeuvring (sp??) room to flip himself back again.

Whatever the reason, he doesn't usually cry as such, just makes slightly irritated/frustrated noises, at which point I go turn him back over again. So far he hasn' done this during the night (to my knowledge) but should I be worried? I know that you're not meant to put babies to sleep on their fronts, but equally at some stage they end up sleeping in all sorts of weird positions - at the moment, I'm assuming if he gets really stuck/uncomfortable, he'll cry, but I still end up poking my head round his door far more often than I used to!

cazzybabs · 09/06/2005 20:40

grace now has crawling sorted. she crawls off for a few minutes, then comes back for a cuddle complaning till you pick her up, then she wants to be ogg again.

She can also just about pull herself to standing and is quite happy standing for a minutes.

and we have a date for the wedding (at last!) - April 1st 2006!

florenceuk · 09/06/2005 22:17

Cazzybabs, congrats on wedding date! My parents were married on 1 April, and they seem to have survived for a good many years so far

CID, once they can roll, just leave them to it. Unless they wake themselves up with their face squashed against the bars, and start yelling, then you have no choice.

Bibiboo, you and your DH look quite glam!

Thank you for your lovely comments on my pic, I shall pull my (rather large) head in now and leave you all alone

Cazzy, how exciting about your wedding! Good luck organising it all, it'll be the absolute best day ever, so don't worry too much about it!

Bean, what's happeneing with your wedding plans? have a missed out on all the info?

Our babies are growing up so fast now - anyone else have clapping? I am now so excited about the clapping it's shifted my paranoia about dd not crawling or rolling for a while.

DD also shakes her head in an exaggerated "no" style when I ask him "Can you do xxx"? She must be copying me when DH asks "Can you iron this shirt..? Can you cook me xxx?"

biglips · 10/06/2005 11:57

cazzy - gud luck with sorting everything out for the BIG dayXX

bibi - lovely piccy

last night baba was in her walker and i turned over on tv the MTV (music) she was dancing all by her self (she is gonna be the next J-lo!! )
and also making a click noise with her tongue (like a horse walking sounds)...

is anyone back is ready to give up as mine is? as its so sore and tense. ive just been to Aquanatal and i feel sooooo much better. (its all that carrying with baba)

biglips · 10/06/2005 11:58

bibi - i know what you mean about our babas will be 1 very soon as i was as time flies by

biglips · 10/06/2005 12:00

plus baba is alot better today (with her little tummy bug) so no more 'every 5 mins changing nappies"

biglips · 10/06/2005 12:01

is anyone claiming for WFTC? as ive just realised this morning that i can get it free from my local health centre

Bellie · 10/06/2005 13:59

Biglips what is WFTC?

biglips · 10/06/2005 14:13

working family tax credit (which is now called Working Tax Credit)...... sorry i can my milk free from the health centre (i was half asleep b4!!!)

Bibiboo · 10/06/2005 17:08

Glad to hear your dd is over her runny bottom now biglips - I don't envy you (or her), but I am glad it's coming to an end. I've only had to deal with that once, and it was quite stomach churning.
Big respect and a little bit of to all you who have stomachs of steel, I am a complete pansy when it comes to gross stuff like snot, vomit and poo and still hold my breath (and sometimes gag) when changing dd's nappy.

I have had an interesting Friday afternoon - an Excel formulae and functions training course, y-a-w-n!!! At least I've gained something - the knowledge that Friday afternoon training courses are excellent for finishing early because not even the trainer wants to stay until the end!

I can now relax, have a bath and wait for dh to fetch dd home. Take-out for tea, Help me decide between ... Indian, Chinese, Dominos pizza or chip-shop?

Bibiboo · 10/06/2005 17:10

Most votes wins and dh cannot argue with the decision of mumsnetters. With any luck it'll be 20 to 1!

docket · 10/06/2005 18:18

Indian wins every time for me! mmmmmmmm... (glutton emotion required)

cazzybabs · 10/06/2005 18:43

Indian would get my vote too!

Bibiboo · 10/06/2005 19:23

I am favouring Indian too, although a Dominos Veg-A-Roma, garlic pizza bread and chocolate cake wuold go down a treat right now too!
