Thanks girls, for letting me start this thread.

Well as Maisiemog and Biglips have said --- I am pregnant!

OMG - once I got over the shock I am now quite excited and dp is absolutely delighted.

EEK - I'm still on maternity leave!

Anyone else got a small age difference between babas - if everything goes O.K there will only be nearly 16 months between them.

Anyway, dd is fine and is now eating happily if not too well - still a bit of a chunkster - but lovely. She is now also drinking water - hurrah!!!!! Still no teeth or crawling but she is creeping backwards and sits up well.

Hope you are all well - still think this parenthood lark can be difficult!

geog - your DS may have some sort of diary allergy as your Ds reminded me of my cousin who is now 15 and her skin is hell alot better (as its only on her body that she got ezcema) since she started to use soya milk but obviously your DS is too young @ at the mo. she can eat chocolate as normal but i remember its the milk and the sun make it better too as she goes on sunbed once it flared out.. ill find out more if you want me to?

hotmama1 · 02/06/2005 16:46

Biglips - not offended in anyway I used Persona before dd - and used it to get pregnant on a 'red' day. My periods came back in Jan and I always intended to start using Persona again but didn't get around to it. I thought I was safe in that I thought I was a couple of days after ovulation - obviously wasn't That'll teach me!

biglips · 02/06/2005 19:25

hiya..... ive started a thread (4 myself) "zzzzzz- im so tired" which i am and i feel like hibernating!

Maisiemog · 03/06/2005 01:31

Geo I'm glad to hear you have got to the bottom of that. I've seen other types of milk - like rice milk in health food shops, but I'm sure you know all that. Do you think you could give him goat's milk? I've heard it is better for children. Goat's cheese Yum! Don't like the sound of that enema much, was he ok?
Big lips, is that baby still keeping you up?!
Piglit congratulations!! How exciting this all is, lots of new babies!!
Pog has been kind of crawling backwards, is this how they start?? He also gets up on all fours and kind of hops on the spot as well?? He's a funny boy. He just can't be a*d sitting up tiiiiiilt THUD! Look of relief (thanks goodness, I'm back on the floor again)

piglit · 03/06/2005 09:32

I was exclusively b'f when I fell pg this time so please don't believe that old wives' tale that you can't get pg when you're b'f. I've got the scan photo, the sickness and the tiredness to prove they are wrong!!

Sorry to hear that you have to go back to work soon Geogteach. Perhaps you get get pg again .....

biglips · 03/06/2005 16:31

well for the past 2 mornings baba slept thru cos ive been giving her more of healthy snacks eg apple, banana, grapes and yoghurts and her own finger biscuits so it seems to fill her up good (as ive tried to give her more of the solids or milk and she still take the same amount but she is happy taking finger foods as she have toast with jam on it with me in the mornings)

biglips · 05/06/2005 09:44

wow, gone quiet on here (have i killed the thread about me being tired as dont worry about it)

anyway just a quick note to say hi and bye X
as im knackered as been out on fri and sat nite, managed to keep it up last nite at the party! till i collasped at home in bed

KathH · 05/06/2005 10:22

biglips - 2 nights out? shocking! Think have managed only one night oout since babymole's arrival altho definate shortage of sitters for 3 children and a babymole that's sleeping is very hit and miss still. As eldest 3 slept thru from being weeks old cant believe i've got one that still doesnt at 8 mths but we're taking mil on holiday with us so hopefully will be able to manage to get out.

Babymole is still not sitting altho he's starting kneeling up - strange child. He's got his development check next week.

Good luck Docket for the forthcoming nuptials, have a great day and dont forget to let us know every detail of the big day!

We're going car hunting today as need to get a 6/7 seater but dh refuses point blank to get a people carrier, i think he feels in his head he should still be driving a capri and his life will be over once he gets a people carrier! Someone on top gear said when you realise you have to get a people carrier it's like waking up and realising your life is beige rather than brightly coloured and thats how dh feels but its such a pain as it we go anywhere we have to take both cars and go separately. Hope everyone's ok.

kathh- did you get a call from your HV about babas development check appointment? as mine is 8 months now (same as yours)

Rickman - yes it is very important that you go for the check up. is baba happy and putting on weight?

cazzybabs · 05/06/2005 14:55

Hi ladies - hope you are all well. I have been home to see my folks as dp was away on business. Grace has srtaed carwling and has been for a week now. Its really sweet - she crawls up to you and then lies on he stomach with her legs and arms off the ground till you pick her up. She is still eating lik a piggy - she loves strawberries - she holds them and sucks! I have put on weight - the trouble with my parents house - they have a car and so I stop walking everywhere!

biglips · 05/06/2005 16:35

ill be soon looking for a high chair to feed baba in the kitchen as atm she is in the bouncer in the living room.. This morning the tv was on (yellow cbeebies, of course!) and i was trying 2 feed her brekkie but she kept on trying to watch tv so i turned her round but she did it a few times so in the end i turned the tv off and she threw a right grump on me !! (charming!)

rosebud1980 · 05/06/2005 16:53

Hi, ive just found out im pregnant again meaning that there will be only 16mths age difference between ds and the nb. I have to say I am gutted and very scared I had pre-eclampsia with my first prenancy and also dh is in the forces so I have no idea how i am going to cope with 2 children under the age of 2yrs if hes away.

cazzybabs · 05/06/2005 17:34

Rosebud - hotmamma is preggers as well ...I think you'll find it hard at the start but think later when your 2 will be great friends. Good luck. When was your baby born - have you posted on here before - sorry if you have my brain has gone to pot!

God I have lost track of who everyone is and where evyerone has got too!

jbadgirl - hows your darling son? Are You feeling happier?

Maisiemog · 05/06/2005 17:35

Hi Rosebud, congratulations, I hope this pregnancy goes better. Try to relax whenever you can - stuff the hoovering - get a cleaner or relative in. Or just step over stuff. It's good for kids to get a bit grubby anyway, gets their immune systems up and running.
Biglips, haha! Pog watches TV too when having brek - I use the opportunity to have a crafty swig of coffee or spoonful of cereal.
Rickman, I'm pretty sure your ds will pass all of the tests with flying colours. I think you should take one of your older kids along for a laugh and tell the HV 'this is my baby, we're here for the 6 week check'
Pog is still going backwards? He can only go forwards if he lies down, moves both hands forward , then goes back up on all fours and pushes with his legs. He can't actually move his hands whilst on his knees.
It must be very tough for babies to get all that coordination sorted out.
Thinks 'move hand and leg' Thump! 'No that's not it' etc...

rosebud1980 · 05/06/2005 18:18

Ds was born on 5/10/04 my waters broke on my birthday and he was born 4mins past midnight.Ive just worked out my dates and think im now due 30th jan 2006 cant belive it. Im still bf ds so have no idea how that works.

rosebud1980 · 05/06/2005 18:19

hotmamma if your listening plz get in touch how do you feel about th age difference?

Bellie · 05/06/2005 18:30

Congratulations to all the 'bumps' that are due - the Oct babes will all have terrific playmates!
DD has started to crawl and I am not prepared at all!! She can crawl from the lounge to the kitchen - so gates are on order and furniture/ornaments are being moved! Didn't think this would happen - she was exactly 7 months when she started. She looks so pleased with herself and so cute!

geogteach · 05/06/2005 19:29

Well DD has had her 2nd birthday this weekend so yes I am the queen of the 16 month age gap for those of you who need to know! Having done my best to avoid girlie pressies she still got 2 dolls, a fairy outfit and a princess castle!
DS2 is not yet crawling (hooray)but is doing a very good line in puking, part of the cows milk allergy I presume but its getting a bit dramatic, put him in his cot on Friday night and a whole bottle came back at me like a fountain, he is totally unphased by it, perhaps he likes the smell of sick.
2 days till work, eek. And no piglit there will not be another baby its only a tempory return anyway, i've resigned.

hotmama1 · 06/06/2005 08:53

Morning girls, gosh there's been a lot of posting this weekend!

Rosebud - my dd was also born on the 5th October and I am due on the 29th Jan - how bizarre! My first reaction was 'phew' as I did 2 preg tests and they were negative but the 3rd wasn't - hence I am on the due in Jan 06 thread - come and join.

DP is delighted and I am just beginning to calm down a bit and cautiously looking forward as it is early days esp as I will be having a CVS like I did last time - I'm 38.

Must admit the age gap is panicking me (though I will be bowing to Geogtech for cyberguidance) it's all the practicalities like double buggies and junior beds that I need to think about. Never mind the fact that I am still on maternity leave.

Well, dd's tooth has gone back in her gum so she is still toothless, got a friend with a ds who started getting teeth at 3 months he now has 7!

Also, dd is on all fours and rocking so crawling may be around the corner - eek - better babyproof the house. Going to gymbabes for the first time this afternoon as I haven't done any mother and baby group things yet - apart from antenatal friends and you lot.

Forgot to say congratulations to Rosebud.

Piglit is also pregnant and is due in November - now that's an age difference! How you doing Piglit?

rosebud1980 · 06/06/2005 09:45

That is weird hotmamma, Ive worked my due date out and its jan 30th if ive got my dates right. Got a docs apptment this pm so nervous.

docket · 06/06/2005 09:54

Hi All,

I must admit, I feel a teensy bit envious (in a nice way) of you pregnant ladies, I've really surprised myself lately by being a bit broody. Anyway, I think that a small age gap will be one of those things that turns out to be great (if a little tiring for a while .

Wedding preparations steaming ahead, am off for a trial run spray tan this avo. Here's hoping I won't be tango-lady by teatime!

piglit · 06/06/2005 09:56

Thanks hotmama! I'm ok at the moment although the sickness seems to have come back over the weekend for some reason. I have already been booked in for a section at 39 weeks (23 November) as a result of my history so I know that I will have just 57 weeks between dbs!!! Yikes.....
