Thanks girls, for letting me start this thread.

Well as Maisiemog and Biglips have said --- I am pregnant!

OMG - once I got over the shock I am now quite excited and dp is absolutely delighted.

EEK - I'm still on maternity leave!

Anyone else got a small age difference between babas - if everything goes O.K there will only be nearly 16 months between them.

Anyway, dd is fine and is now eating happily if not too well - still a bit of a chunkster - but lovely. She is now also drinking water - hurrah!!!!! Still no teeth or crawling but she is creeping backwards and sits up well.

Hope you are all well - still think this parenthood lark can be difficult!

me cooking must of got too boring for her !! (charming!)

florenceuk · 30/05/2005 19:09

Geogteach, impressed by the lunch, esp the asparagus! BTW, DD hasn't done a poo since Friday pm - should I be worried? She is mostly BF, but gets 2 bottles of formula Wed-Friday. Plus 3 lots of solids - the only protein I've introduced is chicken and I only give that once a day. She used to poo at least twice a day! time to boil up those apricots maybe...

Hope things go better for your DP, JBG - sounds very stressful, the last thing you need.

Snowinsahara, I wouldn't worry about the non-eating at this stage - DS went on strike a number of times and survived. As long as they are drinking their milk they should be fine.

biglips · 30/05/2005 19:11

flo - sorry i cant help ya on for this one as im not BF.

geogteach · 30/05/2005 19:57

Well asparagus is DS1 favorite food, he is a very picky eater , for his tea he has eaten fresh mackeral and corn on the cob, all very healthy, but a total embarrassment when you are at a party and he turns down all the cake etc, people think I don't let him have sweet stuff but in fact all he eats is fish, veg, bread and cheese.
As for the constipation i'm panicing as DD had it and I didn't do much about it and she turned out to be cows milk protein intolerent, but I didn't find out until she was 18 months. That seems less likely is you are still mostly breast feeding.
DS2 is going for his test run in the nursery tommorow!

CoveredInDribble · 30/05/2005 20:38

Hi all, v exciting day today in the Dribble household, as I cooked pasta & tomato sauce for lunch and ds ate some too! Df says it was cos he thought it had come from a jar ! And a couple of times yesterday ds got up on all fours and rocked for a bit, but no actual movement forwards or backwards. Tooth #2 is making an appearance, so v grumpy ds over the weekend, but much more his usual self today.

Florence, am no longer bfing, so not sure bout your question, sorry!

Hope everyone was able to make the most of the long weekend - my df had to spend saturday trailing round looking at cars for sale after he parked our laguna in a ditch a week ago but at least he's absolutely fine! Anyone know of any estate cars going cheap ....?

hotmama1 · 30/05/2005 22:12

Hiya girls! Welcome to snowfallinthesahara - I was a late joiner to this thread and the girls have made me feel very welcome!

DD has started to get her first tooth - hurrah She is really pushing up on her front - looks like the cobra? yoga position - so may not be long before she starts crawling - so I had better enjoy her being stationary whilst it lasts!

At long last, feeding seems to be going fine - so it is all going rosy - but I am still feeling sicky and tired.

Hi Sahara, I'm sure your baby will eat when he feels like it. I can't imagine him starting school with a bottle for lunch. It is difficult not to feel stressed about your baby's food intake, because you want him to flourish, but he managed on milk for many months, and it is remarkably good for babies.
Hi Hotmama, poor old you feeling tired and sicky! You need a slave to do things for you!

hotmama1 · 30/05/2005 22:49

MM - as I am still on maternity leave - I think I would reallllllly be pushing it if I started asking dp to do everything around the house (actually he is a star and would if I asked) early days at the moment so I am trying to take it as easy as I can - at least I won't be 8 months in August like I was last year as dd was due in September - 8 months in December will feel like bliss in comparison.

Hello everyone

Harrumph, weaning is a real pain isn't it! Snowfalls, I am having a similar situation with my ds who scoffed everything in sight up until recently and is now keeping his mouth shut (in between crying) unless he's on the receiving end of something v sweet. Am trying to stay chilled about it in the hope that it will 'all work out in the end'!

I'm getting married two weeks on friday and am starting to panic about all the last minute preparations. Still, can highly recommend magic pants for anyone needing to squeeze into something for a special occasion

Maisiemog · 31/05/2005 15:08

OOOOOOOOO! How exciting Docket, and baby docket having a wedding!!! Lovely. Congrats!!

beansprout · 31/05/2005 18:22

Hi everyone. Have just skim read but best wishes to all of you esp those with dds/dss needing to see drs for whatever reason.
Went to doc today for 5th time about ds's skin (eczema and impetigo). Have no less than four ointments/medicines for him. Have been applying creams for weeks now just to watch it all get worse and worse but, for now, I have the renewed hope of (yet) another prescription.

Am v impressed with all the babies eating anything other than a bit of pureed fruit as ds just started to eat some and then went off it again. This baby is definitely leading the weaning in this house!

Other thing is have gone from sleeping through to disturbed nights again which is a real PITA. Keep telling myself it is a phase. Ha ha ha.

beansprout · 31/05/2005 18:38

Oh, and have had the nod from work that my request to go part time (3 days pw) has been granted - hurrah!!!

biglips · 31/05/2005 22:22

hurrah 4 beansprout

biglips · 31/05/2005 22:23

last week i noticed this baba in the asda trolley was full of ezcema - i felt really sorry for the poor baba as it was all over his face and was raw red

biglips · 31/05/2005 22:24

gud luck for your wedding docket

biglips · 31/05/2005 22:25

i was baby-free from 1pm this afternoon as baba went out with her ninny (my mum) for the day to see her great-ninny so it was a relief and a break from baba

biglips · 31/05/2005 22:25

was baby-free from 1pm till 9pm (pls do it again ninny!)

hotmama1 · 01/06/2005 09:10

Morning girls - hope you are all O.K.

Congrats to Docket on your forthcoming nuptials - can we have some cybercake!

DD is having a morning nap after waking at 5.30ish [grrr] think she is getting a bit of a col as she is a bit snuffly.

DP's mum is looking after dd this afternoon as I'm having my hair done (grey roots - not nice) and she hopefully will do some ironing for me - hurrah!

Hope you all have a g'day!

Thanks for your wellwishes!

Hotmama, you can have an extra large slice of cybercake since you are eating for two!

bibiboo · 01/06/2005 20:22

hotmama - congrats! What wonderful news! Until this morning I thought I was going to have two babies v close together too, but AF came and now I'm all . Never mind, it would have been highly impractical and totally silly in my circs. I shall revel in your joy instead

hotmama1 · 02/06/2005 08:53

Bibiboo - having a potential not quite 16 month age gap - is not one of the brightest things I have done - but heyho! Geogteach has posted that she has the same age gap so I am going to bugging her for advice over the next few months (assuming it all goes O.K).

DD is a bit of a snotmonster at the moment but seems O.K. in herself - just a little downhearted - bless. Had a lovely 'Little Britain" moment at tea last night - but then she did have all her bedtime bottle - I was worried that she would be up in the early hours if she was hungry.

DD was snuffling and stirring from 5.a.m. so I am a bit knackered but I am feeling surprisingly well at the moment.

Hope you and your little ones are O.K.

Hi Hotmama and congratulations - I would be very interested to hear how you find this pg compares with your last one. I am expecting no.2 in November and will therefore have a 13 month gap (yikes...). However, I haven't felt anything like as bad this time as I did with ds, although I have had a few horrendous days and now go to bed at 9! I'm not sure if it's not so bad because I just don't have the time to think about it!

geogteach · 02/06/2005 14:54

Wow piglit! and Congratulations, as hotmama says I have a 16 month gap (DD is 2 on Saturday) so ask away. Good to have you back by the way.
Went to hospital yestaday where DS2 had an enema, yuk. He is almost certainly cows milk protein intolerent but stuck between a rock and a hard place as he is too young for soya but old enough to realise the other alternatives ( synthetic milks) taste vile.
Back to work next week keep repeating to self its only 21 days and think of the dosh!

biglips · 02/06/2005 16:05

hotmama & piglett - congrats!! do you mind me asking yous a question but were you on the pill or coil or nothing before you got pg?.. if you wants to tell me to sod off then i will no offence.
