Thanks girls, for letting me start this thread.

Well as Maisiemog and Biglips have said --- I am pregnant!

OMG - once I got over the shock I am now quite excited and dp is absolutely delighted.

EEK - I'm still on maternity leave!

Anyone else got a small age difference between babas - if everything goes O.K there will only be nearly 16 months between them.

Anyway, dd is fine and is now eating happily if not too well - still a bit of a chunkster - but lovely. She is now also drinking water - hurrah!!!!! Still no teeth or crawling but she is creeping backwards and sits up well.

Hope you are all well - still think this parenthood lark can be difficult!

Really pleased you're feeling okay maisiemog.Bet you're glad it's over with now!

huppa · 17/07/2005 18:16

maisiemog - glad to hear you´re back at home and everything went well.

I´m another one with a baby who hates having his nappy changed at the moment. I´ve tried everything - singing, pulling silly faces etc., but each one only seems to work for a few days. Mind you my singing is so bad he´s probably trying to escape from it .

biglips · 17/07/2005 19:20

mum got a new job (hooray!) in a sexy underwear shop (cant spell the word - ligarene!! ) hold on let me find out!

biglips · 17/07/2005 19:23

found it - Lingerie.

Picked up my professional photographs that we had done and im soooo pleased with them so gotta but the piccy frames (ive seen gorgeous ones in TK Maxx) to frame the piccys

We are gonna see the Vicar this week to sort out babas christening asap to give us the idea of the costs.

Maisie - get well soon xxxxx

jbadgirl · 18/07/2005 09:01

Maisie - glad all went well x

Well ds doing ok, had another lot of antibiotics for another chest infection. This is really taking the p* now. Hopefully it will clear soon and i will take him back to dr's today.

He had lost weight 2 weeks ago so hv suggested giving him double cream and cheese sauces in his food. She also said he needs to be drinking 20 oz of milk a day........ that was the biggest joke ever, knowing that we have always had so many difficulties with feeding ds how would she suggest we try and force more milk down him?????

Going for his 8 month check today (even though he is 9m tmrw, so i plan to sit down and chat about this milk crisis. Recentlybecause of his gruffly chest he has been drinking about 5 oz max in 24hrs but he doesnt seem to even want that!!!!!!
Oh what fun!!!

Will let you know how we get on today!

jbadgirl · 18/07/2005 09:03

Forgot to say, i got a promotion at work......Deputy Manager!!!! (I work in a day nursery)Officially start tmrw!!!!

BibiTwo · 18/07/2005 11:14

Congrats to jbad!

MumsRCool · 18/07/2005 15:32

Hi guys, don't often post here and used to be under Michmash but forgot login code and decided fastest solution was just to start again so have a new MN name.

Congrats on the promotion JBad

Also have DS that recently went through a phase of hating having his nappy changed, the only solution that I've found is to let him play with a baby hair brush while he's getting changed. Don't know why but this seems to be the only thing that keeps him still. Also, has anyone else's DS's discovered their willy whilst being changed or having a bath?? I thought that this would happen when he was a few years old and not when a few months old

Bellie · 18/07/2005 16:07

Hi - not been around for a while - internet connection up the creek - but back now!!
Congrats to Jbad on new job and hope that the 8 month check went OK - I know what it is like when hv say "they must have xxx" and you know you have no hope in getting them to take that!!
Biglips congrats to your mum - will it make your life easier too??
Hope everyone else is OK we are fine but dd is still the fussiest eater I know - she went 4 days last week with nothing except water!!

cazzybabs · 19/07/2005 15:54

Grace has just had her 8 month check or what ever we are now (9 months?). She is fine if a little big short (she is on the 25th precentaile for hight) 0 Damn are none of my children going to be as tall as ne (that is not saying much) - my dreams of olympic fame and fortune is running fast in the opposite direction! They also decided they had better finish off the course of 5 in 1 vaccination whilst I was anywhere near the doctors so the doc jabbed her with her last vaccinations for a while. Because I got confussed and thought my appt. was at 2.30 and infact it was 2.00 Grace had her 1st ride on a biycle today - she wasn't too sure and tried to take her cycle helmet off all the time! Anway we are home safe and sound amd she is fast asleep on my lap.

geogteach · 19/07/2005 19:06

Bellie at least she drinks the water , opposite problem here gutsey eats pretty much anything (pizza, chips and garlic bread in a restaurant at the weekend but drinks little so is constipated again.
I've booked my 8 month check for a couple of weeks time, trying to catch up, DS1 needs pre school booster and DD missed 2 year check, obviously haven't got time for work so good job my venture into the world of employment ends this week, hooray. DS1 leaves nursery on Friday.
We are going to a summer school for deaf kids next week which i'm sort of looking forward to, think the kids will have a ball but could be hard work for mum and dad!

Bellie · 19/07/2005 21:14

wow geogteach - impressed by your international foodie ds!!
Hope the summer school goes well - what will you be doing while you are there??
Can't beleive you are finishing work so quickly - you had only just started

biglips · 20/07/2005 08:13

went to see my nan on monday as she hadnt seen baba yet (due to problems with my Dad who is nans son) and baba was given a bracelet - she nearly broke it so how do i put it on her??

Congrats to Jbad - (give yourself a pat on your back - ya!)

cazzy - WOW - a bicycle already!! very impressed .. mine is trying to run before she can walk!!....

Bellie - YES it will make my life a lot easier as it be summat that mum can focus on instead of her mind being on another planet.

biglips · 20/07/2005 17:59

the other day baba was sharing her (soggy) toast with me and i said "Ta!" now she start saying "ta" when you give her summat.

Geogteach - are you still going to be called geogteach now you have officially finished??

DD is now struggling to eat any lunch - but we do OK with breakfast and tea so not too many complaints!

biglips · 22/07/2005 19:42

bellie - thats the problem as i cannot lift her up since she was born!!!, as my back is quite sore as permantly tense these days (im getting old!!).. im trying to encourage baba to walk tonite but she not quite there yet , so she can bloody carry me then {grin]

maisiemog · 23/07/2005 00:12

Yes, I'm impressed at your daughter's weight too! What a huge girl, I'm guessing you must be tall?
Alfie's a tot, well I think he is, but your arms do get some pretty scary muscles lifting those babies.
I think I'm on the 98th centile for weight now as well, I couldn't stop eating when I first started bf and now I'm paying the price.
I've been out for a hobble around, but I'm still tired. zzzzzzzzzzzz
Hi to all the pregnant ladies out there, I bet you're all off on your own new baby thread now - too busy to come back here for a visit.
Have you started cooking delicious meals for your ds yet Geo??

CoveredInDribble · 24/07/2005 18:54

Evening all! Another warm evening, so not around long, just popped in to say hello and catch up! Maisiemog, glad all went well with the op!

Ds is now standing up next to furniture at any opportunity and keeps letting go with one hand . Everyone keeps telling me he'll be walking soon - he's only 9 months old, surely it'll be a while??

Bellie · 25/07/2005 21:28

CID - know what you mean about walking - although dh and I both walked at 9 moths and people keep telling me that it is heriditory (sp?). Not sure I want my baby to be a 'toddler' just yet!!

biglips · 27/07/2005 10:12

my baba had been walking around the furniture for a while but she nowhere near ready to walk as she just stands there thinking how to walk..

poor baba woken me up early hours this morning twice and now she got a sore red bum and is all tender poss a water infection

Bellie · 27/07/2005 10:46

poor baba biglips . hope she gets better soon.
I know what you mean about them trying to think about how to walk dd will stand with one hand on the sofa and look at a toy and almost let go and then decide that she really should crawl there as it is obviously safer [grin[
