not many banana muffins left.. only just made them this afternoon

FiKelly · 16/08/2009 21:19

g was 12wks fri last and seems to be having a growth spurt.. she's fed almost constantly since yesterday.. even needing a feed at 4am this am. been tricky to juggle her and ds because of dad being in hospital. Dh has not been around much as he's had to visit dad for me and has had errands to do for things dad needed. Poor ds has been stuck with cbeebies as every time I thought g would sleep and we started an activity.. she started hungry crying again. We did eventually finish making the banana muffins we'd started.. between 3 enforced feed breaks :-)

dad is showing some improvement but still quite weak.. so don't think he'll be out that soon.

I am really chuffed about one discovery today though.. ds's fuzzibunz nappies fit g perfectly on the smallest setting and she looks so cute in them too. so she's now got a myriad of brightly coloured nappies that give her a delicious big padded bottom

Hi Everyone,

Back from my weekend. Friday didn't quite turn out as expected. I left the house later than expected. After that I got stuck in traffic (seems like there's always a 10 mile queue for the Dartford crossing nowadays), so I ended up not getting to DH's til 4.30, rather than 3 as planned. That meant that DH couldn't come with me to the campsite to move and set up the caravan, because he wouldn't be back at his in time for work. So I had to move the caravan myself and set it all up. I'd never done that before, but managed to hitch it to the car and park it and everything all the while watching 3dcs too and so I'm very proud myself .

fi Sounds like you're going through a really stressful time with your dad. I hope he gets better soon. It must be such a worry, especially as you can't visit easily. @ G's fuzzibunz bum. I love cloth bums

emmab I'm so sorry to hear that you and your DH are struggling. I hope it all works out.

momino Good luck with all the cp in your house. I was told by my GP while I was still bf dd1, that chickenpox is one of the few diseases that BF doesn't protect against. So H can still get cp. Hopefully she wont get it too bad.

Right. I think that's all for tonight. I'm going to have to go back to the book I started while away and have a nice cup of redbush tea at the same time

FiKelly · 16/08/2009 22:13

belgian yay!! on the caravan & dc's that's a feat and a half.. I couldn't stray far from the sofa this weekend let alone juggle like you must have! I too love g's bum in the fuzzi's.. I'm going to try her in ds's tiger print stuffables next. yep I've got them too & love the tarzan look.. although g will have to be jane won't she?!

Momino · 16/08/2009 22:22

Fi, glad your dad is ok and hope he continues to get better quickly. Banana muffins... mmmmm. Send me a few, pleeease! BTW your DH sounds so supportive with visiting your dad, etc.

Belgian, well done on the caravan!

emmabsmom, hope your ok this evening. did you get home?

here in CP central, there was mostly crying today. I feel so sorry for dd1, her spots are so sore and swollen. dd2 was also miserable today. Harper was very unsettled which makes me think spots will be appearing soon . funny, but the crying is going over my head by now but DH was quite stressed over all 3 crying at once and so inconsolable. i do think it's good for him to see this so he can appreciate what hard work it is sometimes (he's pretty understanding anyway).

MIL coming to help tomorrow so I'm feeling ok. hope to get some sleep tonight.

Hope all of you are well.

momino I saw your post on fb and really felt for you. A day filled with crying is so exhausting to cope with. Are dd1 spots any better at all? Hope she's over the worst of it soon.

dh is great with my parents.. since we moved south of the border to help them he's done a lot of hospital visiting. Both my mum and dad have had extended stays in hospital for one thing or another.. normally coinciding with me being pregnant or just after so we take no chances of me getting sick as he'd have to take time off work to look after me and the dc's.

FiKelly · 16/08/2009 22:45

right off to try dream feed.. hope to not wake her up this time

Momino · 17/08/2009 06:31

dd1's spots seemed better yesterday (ie over the worst bit) but she was so whingy and tantrummy all day. think she's miserable, hot, itchy and frustrated. dd2 has been a lot of trouble also teases sensitive dd1 a lot.

dd1 was up last night, leakd through the pullup. dh got up to help since Harper then awoke to feed.

glad mil coming to give an extra set of arms for cuddling.

how is everyone?

Momino- sorry your DD1 has been having a bad time with the CP, but glad your MIL is there today to help.

I am on my own all day with the 3 DCs as DH is in London and not back til after 9pm. Also got some painters round to decorate our bedroom which is exciting, and even more exciting is the super kingsize bed coming on Friday!

DD and DS1 were up in the night (DS1 fell out of bed twice) but at least it meant they slept in til 7.30 and 8am although DS2 was up at 6.25 (but back in bed by 8). He is still feeding regularly in the night (10.45 and 2.30) but slept in his cot the rest of the time so i got some nice deep sleep.

LoobyLou36 · 17/08/2009 08:53

LoobyLou36 · 17/08/2009 09:00

I'm taking M swimming for the first time today my SIL is up with her 10month old DD

pula, good luck with 3 DC's today. very about your super kingsize.

pulapula · 17/08/2009 09:19

looby- so glad you came back . I've not taken DS2 swimming yet but I remember DS1 cried a lot as I think the water was very cold compared to his bath. But i think DD was fine but she had a full wetsuit and DS1 only had wetsuit shorts

llareggub · 17/08/2009 13:00

emmab so sorry to read about your problems with your DH. I did read the thread but couldn't think of anything constructive to add, except that I know of plenty of husbands (including my own) who appear to go a bit loopy following the birth of a child. Will he go to Relate, do you think? I'd highly recommend it.

momimo how are your DC? I hope you are all feeling a little better.

Belgian loved the photos on FB. Did you have a good holiday?

fi How is your father today? I've been thinking about you after seeing your messages.

Well, my incredible sleeping baby is no longer sleeping through, but then neither am I. I can't sleep at night and if isn't DS2 waking up it is DS1. There must be something in the air.

We're off to IKEA this evening to look at kit for our new business premises. If all goes well we will be moving in on the 1 September. Can't wait!

essenceofSES · 17/08/2009 13:51

Morning!

We had a great day yesterday. Fun had by all. DS did cry through most of the church service but I think that was partly because he was so hot with his gown. Once I've collated photos from friends I'll post some.

DS did sleep paricularly well last night - not sure if that was the 2 Pimms&lemondade and 2 glasses of champagne I had or the taster of beer that my brother and DH gave him Can I still say he's been exclusively BF??!

DS is currently chuckling to himself under his playgym with his blanket soother in his hands and his mouth and watching Girls Aloud on MTV!

Looby - soooo pleased you've stuck with us. It was just one person's intrusion and unpleasantness and you would have been missed. Hope you have fun swimming.

Momino - CP sounds awful with one never mind 2 and a 3mo. Hope they are now on the homeward stretch.

Llare - v exciting that the business premises is all coming together. Hope it all goes smoothly for you.

Pula - hope your day goes well and quickly!

Ebsmom & FiKelly - thinking of you

Right I'm off to see what I can scavenge from the BBQ left overs for a late lunch

pulapula · 17/08/2009 14:40

Ses- I'm sure all babies cry during their christenings. At least when we've been to them we can take our DCs.

I went round to a friends this morning- she has a 4 year old DS and nearly 2 year old DD so it was a bit hectic but nice of her to do lunch for the DCs. The house is very smelly with fresh paint- I don't like being in with DS2 but DS1 is napping.

pulapula · 17/08/2009 14:55

I should preview my posts- that should say at least we could take our DCs out of church at other babies' christenings.

Febes · 17/08/2009 15:20

Hi I've been MIA for the past few days but have been reading the thread. We have been so busy and now DH is working every day 12 hours+ for the next 17 days without a day off so I will be a single mum but only a month till our holiday now so at least we have that to look forward to.

Looby great to have you back and hope M enjoyed her swimming. Did you dunk her under? Babies are great at swimming under water they hold their breath and keep their eyes wide open.

Momino I really feel for you with DDs and their CP it sounds horrid but hopefully they will be better soon and at least it is over and done now and they won't get it again.

Belgian Wow supermum with the caravan and DCs on your own hope you were able to relax too.

Emma I'm sorry your DH is being difficult. It sounds like he could be depressed or something. Men!!

Fi Your poor dad. I hope he feels better soon. I'm sure it is a stressful time for you.

I have put my back/ neck out and its so painful. I might have to go to the doc tomorrow to get refered to a physio. Normally I go to osteopath but no money for that anymore!!

I just found out my friend who's baby girl died 4 days after being born at 31 weeks weeks last year has just had her second miscarrage since . Why do these horrible things happen???

LoobyLou36 · 17/08/2009 16:18

ses glad the christening went well

febes I didn't dunk M under - was a bit nervous to, she enjoyed it tho. The water didn't feel too warm to me but M didn't cry , she just kept looking around while I dragged her thro the water. I'm going to take her again next week.
So about your friend.

LoobyLou36 · 17/08/2009 16:20

pula how's the decorating going?

FiKelly · 17/08/2009 16:49

looby nice to have you back and glad m liked the swimming.

febes hope your neck eases off. can't imagine how your friend is feeling so sorry.

Tummum · 17/08/2009 18:04

Hello everyone ... I'm back from France and wading my way through mountains of washing .

After the little 'crashing' incident, the rest of the holiday went really well. (Thanks everyone for your lovely reassuring comments) We changed our plans and stopped off at Disneyland on the way back which was fab.

My holiday resolutions are:

  1. to lose weight - so joined slimming world this morning (and am starving now !!)
  2. to spend less time on internet and more time with kids - so spent the last hour catching up on this thread whilst DC watch telly
  3. and to start my business by the end of the year. Am booking my appointment at Business Link tomorrow. Spent lots of the holiday thinking about it.

Well, G is now semi-crawling. I put him under his baby gym, and he flips over onto his front, head up and legs going crazy. There is no way I can leave him unless he is strapped into something now. They aren't babies for long, are they?
