I third the group hug.. sounds like it was a v nasty comment I missed. totally agree with the name check amnesty and me me me posts to all when needed. sorry not had a chance to post recently.. been a manic time and my dad has had a few falls over past few days.. he's not broken anything just bit bruised and shaken. turns out he has another chest infection which always floors him as he also has MS.

llareggub · 13/08/2009 17:23

Sorry to hear that fikelly. Lots of love and best wishes to your family.

It seems like we need to send some good vibes Jael's way. I saw on facebook that she is at the hospital with her DS. I hope everything is OK.

No. I wasn't insinuating anything. I was (clearly clumsily) saying that only Polony knows why she know longer posts. Dodd (whoever he or she may be) cannot claim to know.

It will be a real shame if you do leave the thread Dandy, and I'm sorry if I upset you by my clumsily phrased comment. Like you I was also breastfeeding at the time and obviously phrased it badly. So sorry to Polony too.

essenceofSES · 13/08/2009 20:10

Please let's not let this get out of hand.
Dandy - I can understand why you felt you had to say what you did in your post but please, there's no need for you, Looby or anyone to leave the thread over this.
One of the few shortfalls of a forum on the Internet is that you can't necessarily tell the tone of the poster or respond in a timely manner like an actual conversation.

Hope that helps but feel free to ignore if not!

Belgianchocolates · 13/08/2009 20:26

I'm joining ses I don't want anyone to leave over this either. I do remember the situation with looby and her work, but can't remember who said what etc... nor do I feel it's worth the effort of looking through all the old threads. For me it's all something that happened in the past and it would be lovely if we could keep it that way. Dandy, please stay and tell Polony we still think about her and wish her well for me. I still miss having her around.

We're going to join DH in Kent for the weekend, so I'll be away for a bit from tomorrow onwards.

I'm also looking for ferry tickets to go to Belgium and I'm at the prices for the last week of august. It's nearly double of what we normally pay. The cheapest so far is £120. But I've promissed my family + it's the only chance I've got for going so long with being on mat leave, so I'll have to book it.

Febes · 13/08/2009 21:06

I have been staying away as I don't know what to say but please don't anyone leave. This thread is an important support for us and I will worry if I don't hear all about your daily trials.

ladyhelen2 · 13/08/2009 21:26

dandy please stay. No need for anyone to leave over this.

looby hope you are ok.

I can't help wondering who on earth Dodd is and why on earth she felt it necessary to say what she did at this particular point. Anyway, we move on....

I'm taking both boys to the races tomorrow. There is a "family day" at our local racecourse. Quite what that means, I don't know. Theres a bit of a gang of us going and it was my suggestion so am really hoping its going to be a good afternoon for everyone.

ses thats brilliant about O's weight gain.*belgian have a lovely weekend

I didn't see the deleted post so can't comment on what was said.. but dandy I'd be really sad to see you go :-( I'd understand.. but really miss you! I'm so glad to hear polony had a girl and is ok. I remember the posts you speak of and I'm sorry if that's the reason why she left. I never thought badly of her.. after all everyone is entitled to their own opinions.

I've appreciated all the varied advice & opinions.. pros and cons on our threads.. I think we're a good balance for each other. I'm not much help with advice outwith my textiles & dc's field though but need a link for something and very often i'm there!!

everyone has obviously been stunned with what happened but I hope it doesn't put people off staying. I love and appreciate checking in with you guys.. through our laughter, tears, nightmares and delights.. my days just wouldn't be the same without you all.. I'd go crazy for sure.

I'm on my phone atm so bit difficult to preview.. hope this makes sense and not just a page of rambling nonsense!

Momino · 13/08/2009 21:31

I've stayed away from the subject as well as I don't know the situation well and also don't know what to say.

dandy, please don't leave! don't anyone leave.

xxx

LoobyLou36 · 13/08/2009 21:46

I did appreciate all the advice given to me and I apologise again

pulapula · 13/08/2009 21:58

looby- please don't feel like you have to go because of this. There really is no reason to

pulapula · 13/08/2009 21:59

Tomorrow is a new day and we should start afresh in the morning and put this in the past.

flippineck · 13/08/2009 22:03

Oh gosh, what a lot has been happening today. Internet chatting is difficult, isn't it.

I hope that no-one leaves the 'group' because of this, surely we can all move on?

I only came on to say that I won't be arounnd for a few days as it's the funeral next week and we'll probably stay at my parents' for the week. May be able to catch up occasionally.

belgian - have a good weekend.

fi - hope your dad gets well soon.

ses - fab weight gain! Hope the baptism all goes well.

re bumbos - we were given one when DD1 was a baby and used it a bit, not loads. Was very useful when we went camping. Never had a play nest, I just the breastfeeding pillow I had!

lavache - love your new name. And very jealous of all this French talk.

We've had a poo day today. A doesn't poo for days and days, and then has one day where all she does is poo. And today she was sick loads too, great! When I put her in her basket earlier she lay they gurgling and farting like a trooper too, very ladylike

Belgianchocolates · 13/08/2009 22:04

Hear, hear pula

See you all tomorrow for our fresh start. I'll pop in just before I leave.

Oh and I think a big G&T is needed tonight after all this todo

flippineck · 13/08/2009 22:05

pula - cross posts. Exactly.

flippineck · 13/08/2009 22:07

belgian - I would join you in a G&T but I've run out of T! Sat here drinking tea and eating oatty-coconutty biscuits I made yesterday.

FiKelly · 13/08/2009 22:07

looby from what I can gather maybe it's a good thing you didn't see it. please don't let all this make you feel bad or leave. you're going through a big rough patch atm and we know you would never want to upset anyone by sharing how you're feeling.

Belgianchocolates · 13/08/2009 22:07

x-post flippin

My sympathies for the funeral. It must be a difficult time for your family.

fi Sorry with all what happened I forgot about your dad. I hope he gets better soon. It must be so stressfull for you to have a parent who's ill and not well on his feet.

Night night everyone

Belgianchocolates · 13/08/2009 22:09

flippin I've had some of those fairy cakes. The belly loss diet isn't going to well at the moment.

Ok now I'm really going to bed.

llareggub · 13/08/2009 22:15

What this has reminded me about is that we are posting on a public forum and anyone can read it. I think we forget as we are such a cosy group. I feel very uncomfortable about the things I have posted. I feel like I know you all so well, it just spills out! Yet "Dodd" (and probably others) have been lurking and reading out posts.

Justine mentioned on another thread about having some of teh communities here password protected and I would really like it if our thread could be.

Anyway, I won't be on for a couple of days for various non-mumsnet related reasons so a timely break I think. Chat soon. x

FiKelly · 13/08/2009 22:15

sorry I've a lag on posts on my phone..

i agree :-) it's a new day tomorrow with cocktails all round I think..
