Bicnod, thanks for best wishes. With regard to your son, the way I see it is this. Every virus is one less for him to get in the future, a sort of immunity in the bank.
DH said that it was actually a consultant gastro person who say him in A and E, and the bloke was very helpful and sympathetic. He told DH about his wife having been pg recently and complaining about pg reflux. He of course told her to take our old friend Gaviscon, and when she complained to him that it tasted vile, he took some himself to encourage her along and demonstrate that it was OK. He was in fact appalled at how utterly horrid it tasted!! (He had never had it before!!) Nevertheless he says it is excellent for things like that, as it coats the insides very well and reduces inflammation nicely, whereas Rennies just fiddle about with the actual stomach.
Juwes, I would say at least you might get swine flu while there's still Tamiflu available, but given that you're a pharmacist I daresay you hav vays of getting things you need in times of shortage. BTW, I suddenly realised that there are 30m doses of Tamiflu available, but many of the people taking it will not actually have swine flu but ordinary upper respiratory tract diseases. I wonder how this will eat into our national stock of the drug?
Puzzle, let's pin the delivery man down and force him to drink a pint of said Gaviscon whilst taking his trousers off and forcing him to listen to Classic FM very quietly. Ha!! We are the Fanjo Warriors!! Frankly I would have belted him one and then had a nervous breakdown in the street, aka what happened on Thursday at the hospital, but with a bit more violence. Your letter is very restrained IMO.
Longleat sounds nice btw. I am impressed with your maze capability. Every one I have ever tried ends up with me having a tantrum and insisting someone rescues me. I am great fun to go out with for the day, as you can imagine - I hate queuing (the German genes), hate hoardes of other people and hate mazes. DH practically has to anaesthetise me to get me through airports (apart from London City, I like that one as they treat me like the princess I probably am). That having been said, I do like ice cream though and I am happy to play for hours with small children, so I have my uses.
Weight update: 14 stone 8.25 lbs!!! Very pleased with this. The rehab exercise obviously helped a little and I have been having nice salads for lunch instead of sandwiches, which tipped the balance in my favour, I think. It will be nice to be able to buy clothes in a normal shop - I live in fear of my suitcase being lost by the airline and not being able to buy replacement things at the moment as I won't fit anything for sale.
