thanks schulte

Glad the poo's are getting back to normal

BoffinMum · 29/07/2009 22:45

Juwes, I am all downtrodden by the NHS now. I have had enough of that bloody Chief Exec and his sodding excuses. I don't need yet another healthcare battle. I don't know how you stomach working for them. It's worse than universities.

When Mary Archer's cat bit her finger she did exactly what you suggest, parked in front of the Addenbrookes, entrance and they valet parked for her and got her into surgery straight away.

Also when the fragrant Mary opened the relaunched public transport scheme for the hospital, guess how she got there that day? Green BMW. I know because I happened to follow her there by chance. (No, I am not her stalker).

I just chuffing help train their doctors. I'm not important.

BoffinMum · 29/07/2009 22:47

Schulte, Felix is doing Hazel's poos for her. There is so much oozing down there you wouldn't believe.

PuzzleRocks · 30/07/2009 07:13

[Yawn]

My two year old is standing at the top of the staircase casting down each of her vast collection of stuffed animals. Each throw is accompanied by a thunderous "whoopee!!!!!!!!".

BabyBolat · 30/07/2009 08:57

Morning - LOL puzzle at the whoopeee wake up!

Boff am with you on the poos - K has had 6 this during the night -blargh!

Has anyone else's baby turned into a milk monster - K fed at 8, 11, 1.30, 5.30, 6.30, 7.30 and 8.30 during the night / morning - I tried the dummy instead he screamed - everyone keeps telling me not to give in to him but when he is crying in the middle of the night I'm not sure what else to do!

purplemonkeydishwasher · 30/07/2009 09:08

BB - I'd just go with it for now. It's exhausting but he's probably going through a growth spurt. and frankly if he's pooing that much he'll need to refill a lot as well!

Puzzle - that's so sweet!

i'd rather that than waking up to the sound of the dog vomiting on my bed at 5:30.

Juw - that's awesome about H's weight gain!

sorry this is only a mini catch up. we are getting ready for gymnastics. Isla's still sleeping so no doubt she'll be wide awake during my coffee and muffin time!

I'm offski!
Later dudes!

dawntigga · 30/07/2009 09:48

Baby babies at 14 weeks at there abouts don't have wants they have needs. Right now yours wants to feed, it's one of those things you have to live through Am expecting another bout from mine in about 2 weeks for his 16 week growth spurt.

BTW I'm back from sunny rainy cornwall. 3 days is all you can do in a tent with a 14 week old and bf'ing. Well it's all I can do, you might be superwoman.

Man but it rained yesterday!!!

SoggyTiggaxx

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 30/07/2009 09:57

BB have you noticed how the people telling you not to give in to him are....strangely....not the people dealing with a screaming baby in the middle of the night?

I'd go with it and try and catch up on sleep during the day - it'll be a phase and just when you think you can't bear it he'll suddenly stop (and start doing something else....)

Juwesm, such good news about H's weight gain, and boo to your HV for not being encouraging.

Orbit cake looks amazing, have you noticed there's no flour involved, just sugar, butter and eggs? My kind of cake!

Puzzle, I am trying to ban myself from JojoMamanBebe - we have one in Bristol and I'm deliberately NOT going there.

Well after saying I wasn't getting on with the Kari Me I used it again yesterday to pick up DS1 from nursery (we drove as it was pouring, but it's much easier to have Orbit in sling than manhandling Orbit's buggy, DS1, bags and DS1's buggy all into the car) and it was absolutely fine. It was so wet but Orbit stayed cosy and dry, lucky thing.

Having said that the Kari Me always seems to start off great, good and tight and close, and then it seems to 'give' and start sinking down. Am I not tying it tight enough, or is it just because it's a stretch wrap?

bronze · 30/07/2009 10:03

oh crap feel like crying just posted on the wrong thread (the london one)

bronze · 30/07/2009 10:06

having such a crap day, I don' think it justifys the pavlova I had for breakfast though

PuzzleRocks · 30/07/2009 11:04

BB - Ellen was the same. I always gave in but you have to do what works best for you. Don't listen to other people if it doesn't feel right.
I hope you get some sleep tonight.

Purple - Yuck. Is your dog okay though?

Dawn - Whereabouts? DH grew up in Helston.

Bronze - What's up lovely?

OP posts:
Schulte · 30/07/2009 11:25

Dog vomit? Bleurgh

BB sounds like what H has been doing the past couple of weeks. It sucks, so lots of sympathy. I do try the dummy now to make her wait longer for a feed in the middle of the night, but I don't want to create a dummy habit either so will only do this until the weekend and hope that by then she'll be able to go longer between her night feeds again.

I took H to my office today and she was sick on the sofa in the meeting room. Was quite proud of her really. Work is a depressing place right now.

Bronze you okay?

Schulte · 30/07/2009 14:38

There's a Due April 2010 antenatal thread! How's that possible!?

BoffinMum · 30/07/2009 15:48

OMG!!!! Springy's perfect sponge!!!!!!

I come here after hours and hours of not looking at my computer and nobody has posted anything new! Where are you all fellow sufferers? Please don't leave me alone!

dawntigga · 30/07/2009 21:22

Puzzle Watergate Bay it's just outside of Newquay. 15 Cornwall is there. It use to be quiet and lovely and now it's all gentrified. I love the view and that's all now, but still there's always Mawgan Porth

Anyone else bf'ing and still going every 2 hours or is that just me????

VeryTiredTiggaxx

mrsgboring · 30/07/2009 23:04

Yes Tigga every 2 hours. I've been reduced to sneaking jam sandwiches while DS1 isn't looking. I drink water 2 pints at a time and still can't keep up, but does my son gain even a faintly respectable amount of weight? Erm no. Unless he's suddenly put on a pound a week like some babies I know.

Am tired and going to bed, since DH is generously holding E for five minutes before going upstairs to publish more Internet maths puzzles G'night all

bronze · 30/07/2009 23:28

Izy feeds in fits and starts

dawntigga · 31/07/2009 08:31

mrsb bronze I am lucky in that I do get a rest at night (after feeding pretty much continuously from 1600) in that he goes down about 2100 and will sleep through until 0300. He's 14 weeks he's supposed to be going longer now!!!!

Things I wish I'd known before giving birth:

All the rubish they tell you on the ante-natal classes (attended 2 due to being to lazy to book them early enough early with DS) is only for the perfect baby and that yours will probably want to feed every 2 hours until he's 30!!!!!!!!!!

That let-down for some women is a myth. It might be that your let-down floods Norfolk but I don't have that at all. Mine is more of a trickle if it can be bothered to come in at all type of thing. We muddle through

Your baby probably will enjoy baths at a higher temp than you are supposed to give them - that's ok!

Your baby will do things that the classes won't cover and you have to get through this yourself. No I can't tell you what as each one is different - mine likes to make Ribena Berry noises whilst being changed and will sometimes make his feet thud really hard so I think his Dad's dropped him. Much fun

Still wouldn't be without the little tyrant man now

SlightlyHackedOffButWillSoonBeHerNormalHappySelfTiggaxx

purplemonkeydishwasher · 31/07/2009 08:50

"Your baby probably will enjoy baths at a higher temp than you are supposed to give them - that's ok!" OH YES!
we learned that one with DS. chucked out the bath thermometer very quickly! he like 'em hot! (but Isla doesn't like too warm a bath so there you go!)

re: going longer between feeds...

Imagine that you only 'ate' in liquid form. How often do you think you'd need a drink? Probably pretty often. And then put hot weather into that equation. Not only would you get hungry but thirsty as well. So very very often. Babies are no different. except that their stomachs are a lot smaller.

Isla nurses A LOT. sometimes hourly. it won;t last forever though so i just go with it.

Schulte · 31/07/2009 09:30

Another baby here who likes to feed every 2 hours, sometimes if I am lucky and she's fast asleep she'll go 2.5 or 3 but that's the absolute maximum. I am trying to space them out a little because when she has them too close together they are more like snacks than proper meals and she loses interest quickly. If that makes sense?

I have discovered the big downside to potty training. DD1 now takes up to 2 hours to go to sleep after we have tucked her in, because she keeps getting up to go for a wee. She also woke up for a wee at 6am this morning, waking everyone else up in the process. I had to feed H back to sleep and then we girls were all snuggled together in my bed while DH had to get ready for work. It was nice.

Has anyone here got any ideas on how to remove felt tip pen marks from a white play table? DD1 has inherited one from the neighbours, who are moving away, and I managed to get stickers and some of the pen marks off using baby oil and wet wipes. But some of them won't budge - turpentine the answer? Or nail polish remover?

BB, how was last night - hopefully better?

Bicnod, is Oscar better? Poor little one.

Bronze, are you okay?

bronze · 31/07/2009 10:45

yeah I'm fine now. Just had a bad morning yesterday.
Izy is fab though as I said he feeds in fits and starts he has his last feed at about 10.30 goes through til 3-4 ish and then through again til 7. This is loads of sleep compared to the others let me have so I feel great on it. Except yesterday night dd had me up every half an hour. DH is too soft with her but hes away now so last night I was just very strict. She is doing my head in though, lots of high pitched squeaking and screaming. Am I alright to say I'm glad the other three are boys .

Shulte- what the table made of? If its plastic or painted wood worth trying nailpolish remover.

Omgoodness I am so relaxed with Izy its unbelievable. If it wasn't for the others I would take him interailing or something. It's amazing the difference a happy baby makes. Just missing having in the sling (I can't do it if it's warm)

I really need to potty train dd but shes so whiney and annoying at the moment I really don't think I can be bothered. She doesn't listen to me anyway so I think I'llleave her in nappies forever then she can stop when she gets embarrassed

PuzzleRocks · 31/07/2009 12:58

Good afternoon

Coming back from my local bank and on the way to feed the ducks this morning I passed a lady with two children of similar ages and something didn't quite register. Five minutes later I got a text from Lulubai asking if we had just crossed paths.

Dawn - Being from fecund Irish stock and growing up surrounded by babies I never bothered with ante-natal classes this time or last. Sounds like I saved myself a lot of unnecessary worry.
Holly loves a hot bath. If it's lukewarm , she is seriously unimpressed.

Schulte - I managed to get similar stubborn marks off the fridge using Dettol Mould and Mildew spray.

LOL Puzzle!!

Schulte, Cif cream is brilliant, as is Bartender's Friend.

Have just invested Felix's Child Trust Fund voucher. We have invested it as high risk as possible on the grounds that it is money we wouldn't have had anyway and that way he will make his first million just that little bit earlier.
