Morning everyone.

Daisy glad you are feeling better now.

Tegan & Juanita hope the sleeping improves soon.

Ceebee well done on the 3 stone that is fantastic. I so need to get motivated again and go for my last stone but I can't stop eating. We are off to Solfest this weekend so I think I will leave it until next week!

Daisy thanks for the tip, I have strategically placed all of the toys in front of the TV and put the fireguard up so J can't touch anything great plan!!

Coolkat your FB pictures are fab, Becca is so cute!

Well must get on with the packing, you would think we were going for a month the amount I seem to have. Not sure it will all fit in the camper van!

Hope every one is having a nice day!

juanitad · 24/08/2009 15:22

Hi all,

Thanks for the sympathy! Not a great night again last night, but the poor little lad has a very snotty nose and he found it difficult to get to sleep so I brought him in with me and he didn't do so bad after that. I think I'm starting to get a bit of a mental block about sleeping, and even if he has a good night, or goes back to sleep very quickly after a feed, I'm the one who is finding it hard to get back to sleep. Hopefully once I'm back at work I'll be far too tired to lay there fretting and will be in the land of nod for a few hours at least!!

P had his first settling in session at the childminders today. I stayed for about 20 minutes but it was quite obvious I was surplus to requirements as he was already loving exploring nis new surroundings, so I sloped off home to do some much-needed housework. When I picked him up he was still having a whale of a time, the childminder said he'd been great and seems really confident. I'm so pleased about this, because around the 4/5 month mark he seemed to be turning into a very shy little boy, but I think that was just a phase. So based on today it looks like things will go well with the childminder. Ceebee, can't remember if I answered your question from ages ago - he is doing 3 days with the CM and 2 days at nursery. He has his first trial session at nursery on Friday, fingers crossed that goes well too.

Right, must go, more tidying to be done!!

coolkat · 24/08/2009 20:52

Ah Juanitad I wish Becca was like that, settling session 3 today and Becca still cried although intermitenly! She had her lunch there though and even went to sleep in the pram. I suppose it will take time though. Our childminder is lovely and I feel lucky to have found her.

Ladybuzz have a good weekend. X

Daisy sounds like your feeling better, take it easy for a few days as you will be wiped out.

Well did bottle of formula last night and Becca slept through til 5.50. We came down at 7 and so its been a long day. I have ironed, then decorated with DH a really deep purple colour and I love it as the room is so light we can get away with it. Dh says not so sure We also popped to DFS and ordered a new cream leather sofa for in there!

Feel sad to be fazing out BF but feel its right as well.

Hey Choc I have BJCM and I like it lots! I have been making lots recently as realised Becca much better with puree's so will send them to the chidminder. Becca loves butternut squash with Cod, pea's and pasta

At the moment ladies life is good

barbareebaa · 24/08/2009 23:28

hiya
Just a quickie! daisy thanks for the invite - I won't be able to make it tho unfortunately - the Greeks (my sis dh and kids)are off back on Friday so in and out of my mums this week. Would love to another time tho or do come over here!
sleeping W doing quite well at sleeping from 8-3 (providing I don't wake himup when I get into bed but from 3 he just wants to be attached to ma boob which is a bit uncomfortable. I wonder how things will pan out when he is in his own room..
glad your enjoying life coolkat! it's the best stage yet i think! bobs is so funny - just got hand-clapping today he loves to cover his face up with a towel or random bit of clothing and then sit/lie there making excited/scared shrieks until he takes it away again! nuttor
juanita glad all went well at the childminders! love pics of P on fb in his shoes!
hello to everyone

Yorky · 25/08/2009 10:15

Hello everyone, found you all again!

Daisy, glad you were better in time to cope with your visitors

Think overnights here are starting to improve, but not very consistently atm, but tooth4 is through (at this age DS was still a toothless wonder!) and her snotty cold is clearing. Tegan and Juanitad you have my sympathy
Having said that we did a quick trip to my parents as my nephew was staying with them, and the 3granfkids together made for an interesting nights lack of sleep! It was so hard not to laugh when DNs lightshow lullaby thing was on and DS sat up in bed excitedly saying, "Look, a star, more stars, lots stars!" and totally not being lullabied! The next day he then carried the music box thing around strumming it like a guitar

Sorry to anyone I meant to reply to, must go and settle DD, she has changed her mind about having a morning nap!

Just bookmarking busy stripping wallpaper and tidying up the aftermath of the plasterer

LackaDAISYcal · 26/08/2009 21:01

flipping heck it's quiet around here! PN threads are meant to have a lifespan of about two years......not ten months

C'mon everyone, where are you all hiding?

coolkat · 26/08/2009 21:03

Hellloooo

Where are you all? Are the babies all running you ragged!

Becca a monkey pulling her self up all the while, a am thinking of putting some weights in her pockets, that would slow her down

Conservatory finished, new carpet down, new unit built. Me and DH had a huge argument over stupid things today. How can I love someone sooo much that I sometimes despise

Becca up once in the night which is more copeable!

Please come back

coolkat · 26/08/2009 21:03

Ahh Daisy, crossed posts!

LackaDAISYcal · 26/08/2009 21:08

hey coolkat

lol at weights in her pockets

ah, the old DH conundrum......I know those feelings!!

coolkat · 26/08/2009 21:13

Honestly Daisy I could write his script for arguments we have its always the same old shite

Only 2 more early swimming mornings for you!

I am back at work next tues and very nervous, I am also very broody, its daft really could be comfy the way we are but I can't shake off the feeling!

LackaDAISYcal · 26/08/2009 21:26

ooooh, broodiness!!!! Spend the day with my three; it'll put you right off

DH and I have those arguments as well. I can feel one brewing actually as he has got a bee in his bonnet about the state of the house and thinks that as I can't get things done in the day for running after children and babies I should do a couple of hours on an evening ...when all I am fit for is sitting in the corner of the living room with a glazed expression on my face.

I'm watching The 39 steps with Rupert Penrhyn-Jones; tis really rather good!

barbareebaa · 26/08/2009 21:47

hi
sorry about the dh's! I am the pain in the arse in this outfit - don't know how he puts up with me!!
Do you know how i can get my notes back off whipps cross? I really want them, no need for them to keep them. I really want to know what happened when I was in labour, had so much gas it's like trying to remember something after a pissed night out! hum ho. do i just write?

LackaDAISYcal · 26/08/2009 21:53

hey barbs. Contact the patient liaison service at the hospital; there should be a link or details on the hospital website. You can request someone to go over them with you as well, and I assume they will be able to do it over the phone since you aren't in London any more.

I don't know how my DH puts up with me either. I seem to be failing in all wifely/motherly departments at the minute and am an emotional crackpot to boot

Yorky · 26/08/2009 21:56

I am happy again.
The electric went off earlier so DH went under the stairs with a candle and said it wasn't the trip switch and called out electrician, then disappeared off to work so do what he was going to kick me off the laptop to do! Man turned up within the hour and it was the trip switch! Don't think he was in the house more than 10mins! DH not a technical genius why do I not do things like this myself?
DD is nearly mobile [scared], a very inefficient bouncy bumshuffle
Coolkat - me too, kind of. Don't want to stop at 2 but am too tired to be interested in making any more!

OP posts:
Yorky · 26/08/2009 21:59

Daisy - you are not an emotional crackpot, you are a tired, recovering from being ill, breastfeeding (and therefore a little bit hormonal) mother of 3 angels(!) who is perfectly entitled to sit in a corner, rocking slightly, gazing vacantly into a glass of something cool and white (or red if you prefer!)

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 26/08/2009 22:04

Oh, I don't care what colour it is Yorky, bless you

My diet has been truly scuppered. Didn't eat anything with the kids at teatime and have just polished off a bag of crisps and a ripple and am now nibbling daintily on some wine gums

Yorky · 26/08/2009 22:12

Mmmm ripple, or chocolate of any sort really. Have major case of munchies and can't even run to shop as DH isn't back yet, "It won't take long" he said!

Ought to go to bed but want to feed DD before I do, and reluctant to wake/disturb her too early.
This is my 'me' time, is that really sad - 'chatting' to a bunch of other mums?

OP posts:
barbareebaa · 26/08/2009 22:14

Agree totally Yorky!
Daisy you certainly aren't failing, you are doing a marvellous job! You have only just stopped being poorly and are recovering. I too am v. emotional I cry at everything! Does there ever come a time when you stop crying at news stories (particularly involving children) - can affect me for days. Assuming this is part of motherhood?
Will phone Whipps - thanks for the tip!
Yorky - glad you got your electric sorted! i have no idea about anything technical. certainly could not change a plug. can anyone change a plug? should i be able to?

barbareebaa · 26/08/2009 22:22

my 'me' time too. i just internet on an evening, dh does something musical!
i have half eaten bar of dariy milk beside me - a big bar, not normal size! am eating for 12 at moment. have a stone to lose to get back to prepregnancy weight. was it ceebee who's lost 3? am tres
also vry broody but dunno how large a gap to leave - am 36 soon. feel i owe it to bob to leave as long as poss but at same time would quite like to get on with it

Yorky · 26/08/2009 22:25

Barbs, I haven't changed a plug since I did it for a Guide badge!

In fairness, DH is very good with computers and wires and techno geeky things - just not car headlights (another story!) or trip switches apparently!

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 26/08/2009 22:28

if you're sad, then I am too Yorky . At least DH being out means you have time to MN for a bit. He is probably playing mafia wars!

aw thanks for the votes of support. I'm feeling really curmudgeonly this evening.....I blame (almost) three days of healthy eating as well as a very trying day with the whingey ones. bumble's top teeth are about to burst forth and he is having a hard time of it. It looks like they are trying to come out through the front of his gums!!

barbs, I have another three stone to lose to get back to my pre DS1 weight!! You look fab by the way and not like you need to lose weight at all.

right am off to bed for an earlyish night for once.

Ceebee74 · 27/08/2009 09:04

Morning all - wow twas a busy night last night!!

Coolkat I am guessing the prediction thingy on FB was right then since you are feeling broody

Barbs in hindsight, I wish we had tried for baby no 2 9-12 months earlier than we did - I just think it would have made those early few months of having 2 SO much easier but we couldn't really have afforded to have them both in nursery without DS1 having the free vouchers plus I always had it in my head that a 2 year age gap was 'the thing to do'

Daisy Dh constantly makes comments to me about the housework which I just ignore At least when I go back to work next month, I will have a valid excuse for not doing anything round the house

Not much going on here - Hamster still not moving and is starting to get frustrated I think - how do they get to crawl? Do they move from a sitting position onto all fours and then learn from there or do they do it from lying on their tummies and then getting onto all fours? DS1 commando crawled so never learnt the 'conventional' way. Hamster bends himself practically double when sitting up but just can't seem to make that last shift to getting onto all fours Am wondering if I should let him be on his tummy more (but he still hates it!) Still no teeth either - lots and lots of chattering though so think he is going to be a 'talker' rather than a 'doer' which is quite nice after super-active DS1

chocolategal · 27/08/2009 11:21

Morning

Its been so quiet here, then all the chat was going on last night!
barbs hope you get somewhere with chasing up your notes from your labour.
ceebee my DS has just started crawling in the last couple of days, he normally goes from a sitting position to lying on his back then flipping onto his tummy then up on all fours, my friends little boy goes straight from sitting to all 4s tho!
daisy housework? whats that? hope you got your earlyish night!

Not doing much here today, waiting on the gas man servicing boiler.
DH has been offered a job but its almost half the pay of last job
think he will take it and keep on looking...

LackaDAISYcal · 27/08/2009 12:55

OMG, just had a very scary choking incident with bumble and a lump of pear. I couldn't get him out of the highchair as he was flapping at me and gasping and crying. When I got him out and turned him over and thumped (i know the class I did said gently, but....) him and a HUGE bit of pear shot out followed by some smaller lumps. Poor little thing was distraught and took about five minutes to stop screaming and clam down. He is still letting out the occasional sob 15 minutes later.

I had turned my back on him after givign him a pear cut into quarters and was clearing up the lunch stuff when DD started laughing at his "funny face". Then he started spluttering and crying and I thought he had got it out, but when I got over to him, his wee face was getting redder and redder and he was starting to panic .

I just thank god I had done that first aid class. Poor bumble
