not a lot different . I can't even drink water or change position without horrendous stomach cramps which are as bad as the gallbaldder pain. Doc was pretty dismissive of me this morning said keep fluids up and take paracetomol for stomach cramps. I've eaten a couple of cups of rice and a chicken leg since Tuesday morning and feel really weak and dizzy and have just shit myself again .

feeling very sorry for myself and the novelyty of being on my own upstairs is wearing off.

sorry for being a misery guts

LackaDAISYcal · 20/08/2009 18:48

sorry fudge have a good holiday; house swaps are the way forward I think in these bad economic times.

chocolategal · 20/08/2009 19:22

Aww daisy that sounds terrible
Does the doc think its food poisioning?
Did he not want to give you anything to stop the diarrhea?

Sending lots of get well wishes your way xx

LackaDAISYcal · 20/08/2009 20:09

she said it sounded like food poisoning, but because I couldn't think of anything I had eaten that might have been the culprit said it might be a bug. she also said there is a bug doing the rounds, but noone else has complained of the stomach cramps. she didn't offer anything like immodium but I don't like the idea of things to stop diahorrea; I feel that if it's meant to come out, stopping it will only prolong the time the big is in your system, although obviously I have no medical basisi for thinking think that

Am off to get some more sleep, and fingers crsooed things will be better in the mornigng.

Ceebee74 · 20/08/2009 20:20

Daisy that sounds absolutely awful Have never suffered anything like that but it sounds terrible and very I agree about immodium - I have a strange thing against it to

Fudge have a great holiday - a house swap sounds a great idea and Kent is meant to be beautiful

All good here - still no teeth, no crawling (although he can now turn himself round 360 degrees whilst on his tummy and his bum) and lots of eating

Can anyone think of a reason why I couldn't give Hamster cheese crackers (from the Heinz baby range - they look just like mini cheddars) - the packet says from 12 months on it but can't figure out why as he would definitely be able to eat/handle them - am I missing something important??

LackaDAISYcal · 20/08/2009 20:38

ceebee, I give bumble anything and everything, and never pay heed to ages on packets. It might be a salt thing though, but as long as he has them in moderation I can't see the harm.

Ceebee74 · 20/08/2009 20:45

I thought about the salt thing but surely all baby food is going to be very low salt anyway? It is just we have a few packets in for DS1 but he won't touch them so want to use them up and thought they would be good as a snack

LackaDAISYcal · 20/08/2009 21:05

I'd go for it, bumble has the organix tomato and basil ones that say for over one year, but he only eats three or four at a time.

LadyBuzz · 20/08/2009 21:07

Ceebee I'm like Daisy J gets most things - within reason obv!

Daisy poor you hope you feel better soon. Sounds awful for you.

Fudge hope you have a fab holiday.

J is driving me mad today, I must have removed him from the TV about a million times, I think the baby jail playpen might have to make a reappearence soon! I can't leave the room without him trying to get to something! Oh the joys!

LackaDAISYcal · 20/08/2009 21:13

LB, our strategy is to leave the living room looking like an explosion in a tpoy factory with lots of things like bricks etc in front of the things we don't want bumble to get at; it seems to be working so far!

bumble has developed a taste for hot dogs and sausages

Ceebee74 · 20/08/2009 21:14

Ta for the advice ladies

Buzz Hamster is driving me mad at the moment - only it is because he can't move and is screaming with frustration most of the time cos he can't reach stuff

Yorky · 21/08/2009 11:25

Morning all
Hope you're on the mend Daisy
DD is being horrid at night again. Thought we'd cracked it last week when DS was at GPs, she still isn't feeding at night (mean mummy) but now waking anyway. I fed her at 1030, then she was up at one, 215, 330 and430! Then she had a lie in till nearly 8!
Gave her A&P powder which seemed to help her settle in the end, She's just got her 4front teeth and I was hoping for a break but judging by the never ending dribble she has other plans!
We have just had an argument over her morning nap and I can hear her on the monitor doing that sobby catching breath thing. I hate it. But love it when I go in and she's lying on her back with her arms up in surrender!

Hi ladies

Seem to have no time at the in as constantly chasing Becca around. She is eating well again but last night and night before fed 3 times. I am sure teething is the problem but I don't know what the solution is. Tonight I ay try calpol when she 1st wakes.

Daisy hope your feeling better. X

Ladybuzz I may have to get our playpen out as Becca is too fast, I can't nip for a wee without leaving DD1 watching her!

Yorky your nights sound familiar to ours.

Ceebee I was looking at them to make a change from them Biscotti things and rice cakes!

Right going to get her ready for bed. She has awful nappy rash.

ellielou02 · 21/08/2009 21:39

Hi ladies
Just popping in seem to have been busy this week with DD1 starting school (she loves it) and looks too cute in her uniform
coolkat hope you get to sleep tonight.
daisy hope you feel better soon, have you had any rehydrate sachets as that seems to be a few days now.
yorky I love the arms up thing too

ceebee cant think of any reason why you shouldnt give hamster the crackers.

I have been back at work for 3 weeks now and love it, I may have to leave my job as I cant get anyone to watch Millie and will be sad about that, I could "bank" when DH is at home but I have been in my job since our unit opened and feel a sort of attachment as I helped set it up at the start, I work 1 day a week (i know its like nothing) so I was thinking about talking to my boss and seeing if I could work 2 days a week when he is home and then have the next month off, if I cant then will need to accept that but do you think its worth a try?
I have started a thread in b&d can anyone help me? here

tegan · 22/08/2009 08:21

Hello ladies

Sorry haven't been around for a while but don't seem to have any time to myself.

O still nit settling himself and sleep is not good, hv nurse wants to visit on monday but i can't see she is going to wave a magic wand and make it better.

dh has taken on more work so now he will be working more on the weekend too so i feel even more like a single parent but i suppose we should think of the money and how lucky we are that he has a job at all.

will try to catch up on what has been happening with you lot later today.

chocolategal · 22/08/2009 11:24

Hi
tegan sorry things are still not good on the sleep front. My DS has just started sleeping through the last few nights, I haven't done anything different. I hope O does the same for you soon.
Ellie- I think it's worth asking your work for those changes you never know.
Daisy- hope you are starting to feel better.

I'm half way through making a pot of baby friendly soup!
Think DS is fed up of shepherds pie & cauli/broccoli cheese.

chocolategal · 22/08/2009 11:26

Oh actually I have done something different with the sleeping! I don't put the monitor on at night anymore, just leave both bedroom doors open.

tegan · 23/08/2009 09:45

morning all

have i offended, no one seems to be about.

I can't take the disturbed sleep anymore, i have been up pretty much since 4am plus up once in the night. i totally lost it this morning with dd2 and i know this is how my day is going to continue. i have bought the gf books but am struggling to even let o cry for 2 minutes let alone 5 to 10, i know i have to let him settle himself but how without feeling emotionally low, drained and incapable of coping with life.

LackaDAISYcal · 23/08/2009 12:52

definately not offended tegan, it's just really quiet at the minute with holdays, folks back to work and the rest of us running around after crawling babies so no time to post!

bumble, at almost 10 months, seems to have cracked the sleeping thing and from going down at any time between 7 and 8.30 is sleeping through to around 6.30. I cannot tell you how relieved I am, although it's only been six nights so I'm aware that things might change for the worst again. I think because he is more mobile he is just tired out at the end of the day. So, all those with sleep issues, hang in there and hopefully it'll click!

I am back in the land of the living...way hay . I still have a few issues at the bottom end, but I can safely leave the house now and started eating again yesterday. I even risked a bit of barbecue (but stuck to well cooked chicken) and couple of glasses of wine last night as my sis and her lot stayed over. I'm mainlining actimel though to get my tummy back to normal as soon as possible. I've lost half a stone since Tuesday though!!

HAd a lovely day yesterday with my sister, who has lost 2.5 stone since Christmas and looks fantastic. We took the kids for a walk through our local woods, then stopped at the beer garden of a local pub and had a couple of drinks while the kids played on the climbing frame (feeling a bit guilty as we said we would go to the playpark, but it was warm and the pub was beckoning ), then we came back and DH had lit the BBQ and we had a lovely relaxed dinner on the patio and a really good chinwag once all the kids were in bed. DD fell out of her swing though and has got a nasty graze right next to her eye. Still not sure what she hit (it might have been the breadstick she was chomping on that caused it!) but 5mm further over and it could have been a hospital job .

Right, lots to do for our second wave of visitors who are arriving this afternoon; an old uni friend of mine and his partner who emigrated to NZ four years ago and who I haven't seen since they went. Looking forward to seeing him.

juanitad · 23/08/2009 15:28

Glad to hear you are feeling better Daisy, we missed you at s&p on Friday, although DD looked like she was having a lovely time!! I am feeling a bit like tegan at the mo, as the nights don't seem to be improving. We had a good night earlier this week, he slept from 7 to 5.20, which is sooooo close to a sleep through, and I thought it might be the start of good things to come, as prior to that he had been going through until about 4 for a week or so. However we seem to have gone back to old patterns now - he woke for a feed 3 times last night. He's been mobile for quite a while now and spends his days zooming round the place using up what seems like a ridiculous amount of energy but still it doesn't tire him out enough for a decent night's sleep!! I gave him a formula dream feed one night just to see if it fill him up enough for a long stretch of sleep, but it didn't! I know that I could do CC or something similar and chances are that within a week or less he would be sleeping through, but I just find it really hard. I've tried it a couple of times, but always end up giving in and feeding him....I'm not being consistent I know.

Whinge over for today. Who knows, tonight may be the night of the sleep through....I have told myself that every night since he was born!!

Ceebee74 · 23/08/2009 15:48

Afternoon ladies

Daisy glad you are back in the land of the living again!! Enjoy time with your visitors

Tegan/Juanitad I wish I had some helpful advice about your non-sleepers but I don't. Maybe it will just get better one night as Bumble and Chocgals DS seem to have - not much use to you though is it??

All great here - I hit the 3-stone mark this week - woohoo Am super pleased with myself. But each stone seems to take longer and longer to shift (this last one has taken 14 weeks to shift fgs) so god only knows how long this final stone will be....although I am kind of hoping that my gallbladder operation may shift quite a lot of it as I believe most people lose 7-10lbs after the op (Daisy - is that correct??)

coolkat · 23/08/2009 19:57

Hi Ladies

Tegan and Juanitad you have my sympathies, I have resorted to formu, I can not BF anymore, I am sick of it, 3 times a night tonight is the 1st night. We went out last night, got home 12.45, Becca woke 1.15 and every 2/3 hours after that, up at 7. I am very tired today! Had a good night though

Daisy glad your feeling better.

Ceebee 3st is absolutely fantastic. Well done. X

Hope everyone else is ok, no Vbab for a while.

Hi Ellielou

chocolategal · 23/08/2009 21:01

Wow ceebee 3 stone is bloody brilliant! Well done you, can you send some of your motivation my way!!

Glad you are feeling better daisy also for bumble sleeping better.

coolkat tegan & juanitad I haven't got any advice on the sleeping front just lots of sympathy as I know how tiring it is going night after night with undisturbed sleep

my BJCM should arrive this week

LackaDAISYcal · 23/08/2009 23:55

Wooohooooo ceebee on the 3stone

That's what I'm aiming to lose. Not sure about the weight loss after the op. I lost a stone, but that was pre-op. Afterwards I put weight on as I could eat what I wanted again....cheesy baked potato anyone?

The last bit of weight is always the hardest to shift though so you have my sympathy there.

jaunita, if it's any consolation, bumble started off with the odd night, then back to newborn tactics, then the odd nights got closer together and then seamlessly into this week. I'm not sure if there is any coincidence, but my supply has taken a battering this week because of this stomach bug (inspite of what it says on kellymom and what the BFCs say on here) and he has been piling in food like you wouldn't believe. I believe it's a result of me not having a lot of milk for him, and that the flipside of it is that he is sleeping better.

I was really looking forward to S&P as well as we haven't been for ages, and it's off for the next two weeks . Do you and P want to come over for a coffee one day this week, before you are back at work full time? P can show bumble how crawling is done properly

I am knackered. We had a lovely afternoon and evening with my friend and his partner, and DS1 stayed up late to have dinner with the grown ups after bumble and DD were in bed and he was such a trooper. This in spite of a very late night and early morning. I was soooo proud of him.

right....we have an early morning swimming session courtesy of Mr Daisy so I best be off to bed. He booked DS1 for lessons for the 8.45 session rather than the 10.00 session and which I only realised an hour ago was this coming week and NOT the week after as I had originally thought.

LackaDAISYcal · 23/08/2009 23:57

barbs, why don't you and W come over too? The 36 runs very close to here
