Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Thank you very very much HKZ!

Will put them in a tupperware box in the freezer - good tip Moose!

She had her prescription formula today, as it was 3 feeds rather than longterm over days. Am saving stash for the booby free weeks, so she still gets some everyday. I'll never stash enough to totally replace, especially as she has decided not to bother weaning at the moment after all.

Mum was going to buy us M&S white wood bunkbeds in sale - they sold out. Bugger it! Only £320 including mattresses and delivery and assembly, which beats Aspace £800 anyday!

moosemama · 11/07/2009 23:12

HKZ I love that feeling you get when you go to check on them at night. I still get all soppy and teary eyed when I check on my boys before bed, even after 7 and 5 years respectively. They look so angelic when they are asleep.

Thing is I really want to hug them, but can't in case I wake them up - been guilty of waking them by stroking their cheeks or ruffling their hair on occasion though and they are not so angelic once disturbed from their slumbers.

stripeywoollenhat · 11/07/2009 23:24

hkz, burn after reading was the last movie i saw at the cinema - coen bros always fun. we watched revolutionary road here last night, not exactly a chuckle fest. bit stagey, but quite good. utterly miserable though.

tree, might be a pain to dress, but am sure that dd1 will appreciate being a stringbean in due course... i look at c's delicious chubby little thighs and really hope that she hasn't inherited my far from delicious, much more than chubby thighs.

moose, glad your dog is okay. we once had a cat who went walkabout and never came home, always hoped he'd just found someone who stocked a better brand of catfood... that doesn't happen with dogs though, i guess. and it's funny, we thought we would shorten catherine to kit or something, but it seems that she is actually catherine...

chef - oh god, you poor thing. i really hope a new mattress will sort it out...

sas - yes, lenni was looking for a home for her medium ones and c outgrew the small size about a month ago. i think she will be in mediums for some time, unless we have a huge growth spurt. the cheapest i've seen them new is £13 at a site called twinkle twinkle, so i'd say £12 is pretty good.

missj - glad nye is okay, trip to hospital must have really freaked you out.

so we had another good night from c last night and are getting all ahead of ourselves and thinking she might have cracked it... of course, that doesn't mean we had an unbroken night's sleep as some evil bastard body rang us at three am, no idea who, a uk mobile number, nobody at the other end. probably one of those things where you don't lock the keypad and the phone does a bit of random dialling while moving about in your bag. it does feel a bit like karma, somehow...

weaning is not really speeding along, she tried some veg today but was more engaged by tossing it on the floor than eating it. not too worried as we kind of jumped the gun with it, she isn't 26 weeks for another week. we've decided to hold off for a while on gluten and dairy, as her dad has asthma. it seems like it's a hereditary thing in his family though, so not sure avoiding foods will help, really. worth a try though, i guess.

god, look at the time... better go to bed, i guess. to everybody

moosemama · 12/07/2009 00:14

Tree try googling barcelona while bunk beds like these. You can get some good deals on them that come out at about £330 ish.

They have them on ebay 100% positive feedback and only £259.99 including mattresses. here

We were supposed to be buying them for the boys before they changed their minds and wanted to keep their existing beds.

treedelivery · 12/07/2009 00:27

Oh Moose. I heart you. And your advanced search capabilities. Fantastic.

chefswife · 12/07/2009 01:07

lennied We could arrange something to lease out DH... lol

stripey Baby led weening I found was the easiest... no expectations or disappointments. Violet started practically 5 months old.

SparkleandShine · 12/07/2009 07:07

pat finding people really is the worst as we have to get it right and get the right personality as well as with only 5 or so people in one office they have to get on!

have a look at these stickers i'm not arty at all but both bedrooms look fab - there is a picture on the box of how to arrange! James has the sea creature version.

moose oh poor you, good you found her again.

hkz four weeks! hope it all goes well!

who went to a farm in the forest of dean? where was it? have to visit MIL soon and it would be a good place to go.

lenni thanks will have a look

tinkisback · 12/07/2009 09:48

morning

PatTheHammer · 12/07/2009 09:49

Thanks Sparkle, I am thinking about just using stickers because my painting skills are somewhat patchy. Aspace have 25-50% of room accessories at the moment and they have some nice stickers. I went to Dick Whittington Park in the Forest of Dean, It's at Longhope. It's ok for a day out. There are loads of good places in the forest, perrygrove steam railway. symonds Yat and puzzlewood (not sure about pushchair access) to name a few. Whereabouts in the forest are you going?

chef where you live sounds divine, near the ocean and with all that wildlife. I am picturing something out of bambi or something where they all have names!

stripey Don't fret about the weaning. You are doing great. throwing it on the floor is part of the investigation and practice in picking it up. If you have a splashmat underneath that is clean you can always pick it up again and offer it again, takes a while I think till they will actually eat. Don't worry about C's thighs either. DD had juicy little legs as a baby but around 2.5 to 3yrs you see there legs changing to become more shapely. At 3 she is now a leggy blonde . Well done on the sleeping, I was still up at all hours because of DD, if its not one...........

tree I very much used to be an appreciator of men and I can't stand that Chris corcoran bloke or whatever he is called. I much prefer Sid if I had to choose one from cbeebie . Sounds like you had a lovely day with DD, sizes a pain though! White bunk beds sound lovely. We have just been promised some second-hand white furniture for the new house for DD's bedroom. Can't wait!

moosemama · 12/07/2009 10:14

Pat / *Stripey my sister's friends little girl started BLW at 6 months but didn't actually ingest anything until she was one, and then became the best eater ever. Apparently she was the chubbiest, healthiest little monkey. Her Mum did get totally p'd off with people trying to spoon food into her though.

I think that's the beauty of BLW, they do it when they are ready and they know their own bodies better than we do.

stripeywoollenhat · 12/07/2009 10:55

pat, moose - we are feeling pretty easy about it really, i think it'll be all about the motor functions for a few weeks yet. she had a lot of fun throwing bits of carrot etc on the floor though....

pat, i think leggy blonde is genetically impossible - however, as c is perfect in every way, i am sure she will overcome such minor biological details

SparkleandShine · 12/07/2009 10:57

Pat DH lived in the Forest from 10 up to 18, MIL still there (littledean) so we go fairly frequently... however mostly day trips and haven't really been to stay for a while so don't have an idea of what's best for the little'uns

treedelivery · 12/07/2009 11:49

Hi everyone.

Told mum about bunkbeds Moose - think it will be a credit card job or a while. We need the cot bed from dd1, she is still in the bed, and dd2 needs the cot! But having said that dd2 is no where near ready to go into the room, she is still more like a 3 month old sleeper. We have some work to do on the sleep front, following on from the colic maddnes. Am relieved to have found some though, briliant.

DD2 at mums today - think she will stay tonight too. SHe is having too much fun flying kites to come home.

DD2 has just eaten the stropy letter I got due to missing a card payment. She likes paper more than puree. Maybe it would fill her up..............?

We are sort of doing both... Maybe confusing her!

So she held some brocolli and stuck it up her nose, and I ave her a bit of mush to suck up.

This seems to result in the blw mess, but none of the mush going in. So loose loose situation! Hurrah! Tut.

Will try again today - she had the last few days off.

LenniEd · 12/07/2009 12:17

Tree - your post sounds like the colic madness is past tense? If it is then I would be .... (insert more grins) for you

treedelivery · 12/07/2009 12:21

We have had 4 nights of 1-2 wakings, feed, back to sleep, no screams and she has had less pain for about a month I'd say. I have reintroduced cups of tea, and it is ok but anymore and the poo turns to acid again.

But for Gods sake don't tell anyone, read this or in anyway aknowledge this, as no doubt her head will start spinning around and vomit will fly.

I can't believe it - I daren't. We are enjoying her now, and she is lovely. She smiles and coo's, instead of wriggling and chuntering all the time. She's lovely.

treedelivery · 12/07/2009 13:56

Stripey tops?

stripeywoollenhat · 12/07/2009 13:58

stripeywoollenhat · 12/07/2009 14:00
