kitty ditch the rice, I think it made DD have baby eczema and i am not sure it is necessary. Does she just like fruit and veg? i just mixed DD's with a bit of milk and then gave finger foods (which she preferred). Soooooooooo glad zach has pristine skin at the moment (note no baby rice ever consumed). I also gave away 2 boxes of baby cereal that DH had bought yesterday, twas Hipp organic stuff but I'm just not sure about it. think oaty porridge is fine though.

LenniEd · 22/07/2009 21:00

Glad you can fix the blocked ducts Stripey but still very painful and generally not nice.

My house filled with crap. Had a bit of an ebay/freecycle clearout this week though which is spiritually cleansing to me.

My student loans depress me. I had 4 years (40%) paid off while teaching but still owe more than I borrowed If I taught for another 6 years in a shortage subject they'd pay off for me but my last year teaching didn't count and I very much doubt I'd qualify if I went back into school - although am on a 5yr career break so could get back on the RTL scheme.

We're having a few sibling issues here too. Mainly of the 'That's mine, and that's mine and that's mine' variety. And if I convince DD to let DS have something she gives him everything and sits martyr like with bottom lip quivering.

hongkongzoe · 22/07/2009 21:02

I used to take great pleasure in buying loud noisey toys for my friends two sons...well that came right back at me as about six months ago she turned up on my door step with two bin bags full of primary coloured plastic hidiousness and she'd put new batteries in them all! Grrr...I have learnt my lesson. At xmas I think my realies must have bought share in fisher price...and these toys are not small. A lot of them stayed unopened and went straight to the children's ward at the local hospital, I di feel a bit ungreatful, but they really do not need all this stuff and had asked everyone to get them books or small things as it all seems such a waste.

HKZ - Glad I'm not the only one who finds the toy buying a bit sickening. Made worse for us by DD's birthday being 28th Dec. This year I'm going to ask close relatives to give DD some of their time instead of gifts and take her somewhere for a day as a treat.

PatTheHammer · 22/07/2009 21:07

Lip quivering.......I just can't resist that and she knows it! Lenni I am £450 o/d this month.....so need my first paycheck, roll on the end of the month! i am looking forward to de-crapping our house before the move. Am going to join free-cycle as having bugger all luck selling anything (managed to shift a bed-guard and duvet set so far....thats it!).

LOL at the recorder story Qumps.

dog would you be around on sunday morning then...............god I am going to get into so much trouble for this!

treedelivery · 22/07/2009 21:12

Oh my I missed so much! All I did was give dd a bath [1st in a month ] but her skin is pristine and I see water as the enemy as dd1 looks like a nail file when she gets out of the bath dd2 has sore arm pits again, she gets thrush. Cant remember if I said? It stinks GP said she will be prone till she is walking and active.

Lenni, thread keeper of the knowledge?
HKZ, Keeper of the alternative relaxation therapies?

Bastard student loans indeed. I am going to be part time till I'mm 55 out of spite, and never earn anything. Just to avoid paying it back Get such crap pay it shouldn't be difficult to stay under the avarage

Can't believe some babies are crawling off mid poo and eating all sorts, and others can't roll/sit and have only eaten sweet pot and avacado. That'll be mine then

SHe had banana and avacado pieces tonight. Was very unimpressed, but wolfes sown some fruit puree from Plum so am feeling a bit inadequate in the weaning dept Ah well, slowly does it.

Off to check out the links - they look like exactly what I need. Hurrah!

D1 at GP Fri for more ezcema review.Think I will have to give in and have hydrocortisone. I hate that. But nothing else has worked and its spreading to her thights and bottom.

LenniEd · 22/07/2009 21:12

Pat I've taken to listing things on ebay as Buy It Now for roughly what they usually go for. Fees are higher but saves all the mucking about relisting and things. I had a nightmare changing my name on my paypal account too (that was you wasn't it??) finally conceeded defeat and faxed them a copy of my passport. Very very very irritating though.

kittypink · 22/07/2009 21:14

pat I didn't know I could just add milk to veg, I thought she had to have some bulking carb type thing. Will drop the rice and see what happens. Am glad Z has good skin at mo.

stripeywoollenhat · 22/07/2009 21:14

i try not to look at my bank account... not going back to work for years, so not dwelling on anything in that line, can't do anything about it... thank god i am too old to have student loans, they didn't really do them in my day. would've had to sell one of my kidneys by now if they had existed when i was at college... still no good with money, was outrageous when young and drunk

pat back at you. no slouch on that front yourself

qumps · 22/07/2009 21:16

Moose that site is brilliant, thank you. Given me lots of ideas. Lenni the Hv told me to get more carbs in so what do you use to add 'weight' if anything?
Kitty you are me last week. Is there a medical reason for the waking as really common with silent/reflux babies. The cc really helped here, as although S doesn't stay asleep, he can now fall asleep on his own and has really improved life for the rest of the family. Ds1 looks shocked now when I say I am putting S to sleep and come straight back, as usually I was gone for about half an hour.
Quivering lip is a heartbreaker for mums. I do if you want that toy you have to give him something else. S usually gets something completely rubbish like an empty kitchen roll but as he is not old enough to care I think at least there is some sharing involved.

kittypink · 22/07/2009 21:18

tree We have to use hydrocortisone, its ok as long as you have "holidays". When A-R has bad bits we do mon-fri on then sat and sun off. we find that by mon they look pretty bad again but clear right up by tues or wed. Its not ideal but it works.

qumps · 22/07/2009 21:20

Kitty and tree I am only at the oilatum and aqueous cream level with S but I think the aqueous makes it worse. What else would you suggest and can I get it on prescription? He only has about 4 patches the size of my thumb nail, 2 on his upper arm and 2 on the back of his thigh. So random.

PatTheHammer · 22/07/2009 21:21

I may have to give into paypal to shift some of this huge amounts of crapola. Will a photocopy of Drivers licence or something be ok?

tree Hatts is doing fine. slowly does it is the best way, unless you have a complete dustbin like mine! poor DD's armpit and DD1's skin. hope all well at the GP's. LOL at evil plan to stay part-time forever. Oh, and love those titles, can we have adefinitive list? Is there anyone we havn't named.......Tink, thread keeper of the.....something to do with shopping???

qumps · 22/07/2009 21:21

DH back in a minute and then off to bed.

kittypink · 22/07/2009 21:24

qumps I'm not sure tbh. I'm hoping these sleep logs will help us to work it out. She usually wants her dummy giving back to her, so I reckon its just that she has woken at the end of a sleep cycle and wants help to get back to sleep.

I am going to look into reflux though as she does seem to tick some of the boxes. She has been particularly sicky recently as well.

treedelivery · 22/07/2009 21:27

Tink, thread keeper of the till reciepts? or keeper of thread fashion trend analysis.

I think Moose needs more than internet searcher. Thinking of adding wise woman and cake making.

It's just trial and error with the creams. We have used diprobase for years, but now that is itching her so its change time. Doublebase itched when we tried it but that might be ok now. When we started we got 3 different kinds in small amounts.
I hate it all

kittypink · 22/07/2009 21:27

qumps Aveeno cream! Its made from oatmeal. Its very expensive normally, but free on prescription! hurrah! It works a treat especially as DD is allergic to diprobase and doublebase. You can still use the oilatum as well, just don't bath more than twice a week as that can dry out the skin.

kittypink · 22/07/2009 21:28

x-posts tree with similar info!

treedelivery · 22/07/2009 21:28

Thanks Pat. I find I need more reassurance with Hatts than with Jess.
