Qumps Lol at funbags...haven't heard that phrase since school!

Blimey, I feel old and beaten up. Had a great time. My sister came and picked me up in the afternoon, so we went down the road and checked into the Hilton in Angel and then I believe, we had, as referred to quite often on this thread, a series of terrible shopping accidents. My sister went a bit mad, she hasn't been shopping for a while and as I was too skint to shop she bought me a fab dress from Whistles Also got a few qute bits in the monsoon kids sale, I love thier stuff but is tooooo expensive normally...anyway...I digress.

So the evening started off in a very civilised manner, we met in a posh pub and had a meal, I drank modestly and enjoyed catching up with lots of old mates (whilst obviously pining for my children )....and then we moved onto the kareoke. AT this point things start to get blurry...and slightly less civilised We had a lot of tequila shots and I consumed a wide variety of cocktails and did an awful lot of very bad singing. We had a room to ourselves and it was great...really want to do it again...hmmm...anyway more shots more wine more cocktails a pub a club some dancing and then about 8 of us piling back to the hotel room and room service and more wine and way way way too many marlboro lights, sun rise.....I regained consciousness in time to get down to the huge fry up awaiting me in the hotel lobby...I'm proud to say I wasn't sick, I ate no kebabs (I love kebabs) and I have no strange bruises. However, I feel like shit! Just whacked a leg of lamb in the oven and made some full on roasties I need some food big time.

Photos on facebook!

I like the civilised meal photos followed quite randomly by 'blood on the dancefloor' made me chuckle.

treedelivery · 19/07/2009 20:23

Oh lovely. You did right missus. Its great to know it can still be done, and to feel the love of friends.

Enjoy your roast!

Dog the crib can be used either attached to the bed with 3 sides or separately with 4 sides.

It comes with a mattress that has a removable section to bridge the gap between the bed and the crib, but I wasn't happy with it as it was a coir one, but really thin and hard.

I had a mattress made the full width of the crib including the bridging section and its been fab. We are just about to have a narrower mattress made so we can attach the 4th side and move her away from the bed slightly.

The chammomile teethers are Nelsons, most chemists, including Boots sell them - they're great and always chill dd out.

So, spent the whole day reorganising the boys' room, building Ikea furniture and moving the rest of the furniture around so the new stuff fits and for once I actually managed to achieve my goal, despite feeling like poo. Just have to try and shoehorn in ds2's enormous thomas wooden train track and train collection now and we are done, but had to put the monkeys to bed so I'll have to do that tomorrow.

OMG dd just said daddy! She is very cross that she has been put in the swing while we are eating and had been chuntering away (such language from a baby ) then she just starting shouting 'dadadaddy' whilst staring at him intently! We looked at each other and went 'nah, surely not' but then she did it again and each time she looked directly at him when she had been looking at and directing most of her chuntering at me!

Hi Books.

Yes, would still wear whatever is usual - though a breathable fabric to let the nappies breathe. So she wears a sleepsuit or gown and is wrapped in a wool blanket. She did once sleep in her merino sleeping bag. Back to maggot baby in her blanket now though. I got it especially for her nappy usage and to promote healthy skin...much good it did me!

The swing has a suction you can turn up and own if that helps anyone. Always bang mine straight up to max, and never wait for the let down phase of the pump cycle either. Impatient pants.

Ought to be expressing not here nattering.

DD2 sat up at the table as we finally got around to washing the highchair [found buried in dust in the junk room] I was wondering why I couldn't get it to ppush right up so she could join us at the table, and pushing and pushing.....then the silent scream I hadn't noticed form dd2 broke and she bellowed. Realised her leg was jammed up against a lip under the table top. ANd I was repeatedly ramming it further trying to get the highchair in.

It doesn't fit. Lesson learnt. She looked so tiny in the chair too. Bummer she will need to have her tray and not sit up to the table.

Going to flog and purge myself now. Poor Hattie.

Tut!

chefswife · 19/07/2009 21:17

Hangovers! What are those!?!

I am definitely getting my boobs done when we are done with kids... may as well get a tummy tuck too.

Monsoon kids sale!

Crawling! DD is 7 months now and is pretty much, out right, refusing to crawl. She figures why crawl when I'll be walking soon. Her mantra should be work smarter, not harder.

She did role off her change table yesterday and I caught her in mid flight. She scared the beejeezes out herself (and me). Since then, she has laid pretty still there.

Hia!

HKZ glad you had a goodun!

I have an avent isis pump spare if anyone needs it, its fully sterilzable.

moose glad you are feeling better

books not heard of backwards crawl! Dont say it to loud, my DD may hear!

We had a better night, still not great but better. Am worried tonight as DD has been REALLY sick. Phoned emergency GP who says to keep an eye on her. I thought it may be food poisoning, because I gave her a banana out of the fridge that was peeled yesterday and i mushed it in a non-sterilized bowl but she thinks it isnt as DD doesn't have diarrhoea. DD is really grey so may be dehydrated. BF tonight will help.

It was totally projectile and would be impressed if not so worried!

missj am glad you have decided to visit her, I really hope you have a positive experience.

kittypink · 19/07/2009 21:35

Moose just re-read post, WOW! thats amazing!!

kittypink · 19/07/2009 21:36

tree poor dd, Im sure she's forgiven you already.

hongkongzoe · 19/07/2009 21:39

Tree I have one of those baby table seats, some gave it to me and we never use it as it doesn't fit on our rubbish table....you are welcome to have it, it's navy and from John Lewis and currently gathering dust under our bed! Hope Hatts leg has rocvered and you aren't doing too much flogging and purging.

I remember dropping Lily....well she rolled out of my arms, off the bed and splat onto the floor cos I fell asleep, it was awful! ABout 6 months later DP casually admitted that he let her roll off the sofa a couple of times too...I could have killed him, I felt like I was the worst mother ever and he'd done it too!

I have a medela mini electric pump and it is very good, but very noisy !

Moose....putting up Ikea furniture is my worst nighmare! Ikea is like Marmite, you either love it or hate it I guess.

AM full of lamb and potatoes and now must lie horizontally and wait for hangover to go.

I did a similar thing with the swing table last week, couldn't work out why the clip wouldn't do up, really forced it, then realised poor dd had her thumb trapped between the table edge and the seat, I felt really awful and she really, really screamed.

Having a mare of an evening here, dd has now fallen asleep with her legs around my waist and her head on my chest after having some Teetha, but prior to that we couldn't stop her screaming, nothing worked. Hoping it was the teeth rather than her coming down with something.

Dh reports that ds1 was in floods of tears at bedtime because we've moved his room around. I know he has problems with change, but thought this would be ok as we actally put their beds back to where they were originally, up until about a year ago. Apparently, he liked being closer to ds2, but they had been keeping each other awake as they only had a bedside table between their beds so something had to be done. (They are all of 4ft further apart now!)

moosemama · 19/07/2009 21:48

I'm sort of in a love hate relationship with Ikea. Their stuff tends to be practical and robust, great for the ds's, whose whole room is kitted out from there.

BUT I hate getting on the imaginary conveyor belt and becoming one of the hundreds of sheep following the designated route around the store

AND I hate walking into someone else's house and seeing exactly the same furniture as mine.

BUT vegetarian hotdogs, dime bars and ice cream cones for 65p could well sway my vote.

treedelivery · 19/07/2009 21:52

Yes puuuurleeease HKZ! Email me with price No arguments this time

Lol at lying horizontal till the feeling goes. Now if it were me tomorrow would be worse as the fatigue would set it.

Wow Moose at talking baby!

And the crawling. Mine isn't rolling. But is never put down so...

Have put out several pleas for a jumperoo on every forum I can think of. And am selling a few nappies to try help fund same purchase.

Hats sat gurgling and cooing and certainly not sleeping. Revenge is hers me thinks.

kittypink · 19/07/2009 22:00

tree DD doesnt roll either, she goes onto her side a and looked like she may roll, but I think she decided against it.

She does do commando crawling though and can go at quite a pace, especially at playgroup when she sees a particularly grimy toy that I don't really want her to lick.

hongkongzoe · 19/07/2009 22:08

Oh Moose, I love those mini dime bars!

The whole shopping experience scares me a bit, I aways end up with tons of stuff I don't need and I didn't go there for, its a bit over whelming especially on a weekend, but it pretty good value too and they have some funky stuff.

Tree I have emailed you.

bed bed bed (it is in fact a very large Ikea bed )

Moose Yay fo rsaying Daddy- isn't it fab?

Pat would that be the pump that is pants???? well- others say its good, so if you want to cat me... do you do paypal? (or I can cat you if you don't have it)

hmmm... accidents... this afternoon, DD tumbled down the stairs from the top, so we spent teatime in A&E, getting her double-checked. She is going to have a corker of a blackeye tomorrow And her shoulder and back will be all bruised too... we have a wall at the bottom, because the stairs do a 90 degree turn and she was in a little crumpled heap, wedged into the door and the bottom step, poor thing.
She howled, and said 'Mama... it hurts everywhere... except my foot!' 5 minutes later she said 'even my foot hurts now!'
All seems to be fine though, thank goodness.

kitty LoLing @ grimy toys... yes- I bet she could reach a stale cheerio that had fallen down the back of somewhere
Hope DD is better soon though.

Can't remember anything else as a a little frazzled... first dd, now DS is working himself into a little scratching frenzy! better do another feed... it has been incessant today.

kittypink · 19/07/2009 22:39

EPPM sorry to hear about poor DD, Hope she isn't too sore tomorrow. You could try using arnica, its really good for bruising. Holland and Barratt do childrens arnica.

moosemama · 19/07/2009 22:42

Oh Peach, poor dd and poor you, been there with both of my boys over the years - its heartstopping. Glad nothing was broken. Have you got some arnica? We are busily working our way through the ones I bought for labout/post labour, even gave some to Mum when she was post-op with her knee replacement. They would really help with the bruising.

How is your dh now? Is he feeling any better?
