Phew glad you two have sorted that out! Welcome back Sazzles .

steaknife · 18/07/2009 09:32

aw the girls are all happy again.

Thanks all. I checked Izzy at midnight - though didn't take her temp [terrified of baby being awake all night emoticon]
Then woke at 4 ish because something fell off the windowsill. Decided to check on Iz cos I got all paranoid about those stories from mums that say "I woke with a start and just KNEW something wasn't right. When I went in the baby's room it was being eaten by crocodiles/juggling chainsaws/kidnapped by aliens etc etc3

She was blissfully asleep. Woke at 7 happy as you like and has just woken up from an hour of nap. [paranoid mummy emoticon]

Dh been stayin gwith BIL since Tuesday night and had been borrowing a car but had to return that earlier in the week.
I offered for him to stay here last night but he declined. Told me he would be here at midday. I realised I had misunderstood him previously, maybe willfully, and had thought he was staying the weekend whereas he is just coming for the afternoon.

Text him to ask him to come earlier more convenient for me.

He phoned to say he didn't have a car and had to wait on his BIL and would be here "at the beginning of the afternoon" as BIL has to collect a table and can then drop DH off with their spare car.

I pointed out he could have stayed in town last nitgh (friends, pil etc etc)
He got all angry.

Now is it me but if you say how much you miss your DD then wouldn't you think about trying to arrange your week so you aren't staying an hours drive away and reliant on others for transport when you are supposed to be seeing her?

I am sure it isn't malicious, just a bit badly planned/thoughtless.

steaknife · 18/07/2009 09:44

wotcha pert

dizzydixies · 18/07/2009 09:57

morning all

raining here, got till 7.20am though which is unheard of though!

ah poop, got to go, will catch up later

cyteen · 18/07/2009 12:51

Hello, I have one seriously scarlet-cheeked boy on my hands. He's crabby as hell.

Friend has just texted to cancel her LO's birthday picnic tomorrow as they're both ill No luck at all to them, healthwise.

steak glad Izzy is ok. How does she seem after a good night's sleep?

cyteen · 18/07/2009 12:53

lwfh love Magdalena Isabel

TwilightSurfer · 18/07/2009 13:53

I love Magdelena too.

Ladies please don't consider me rude. I am reading every word when I MAKE myself take a break. The weekend which could be hell is upon me and DH had to go to work. All that I sorted and left for this morning is not left to ME ALONE with two children.

I will be back soon, promise.

Sazzles...you were missed.

to everyone else.

dizzydixies · 18/07/2009 15:47

LWFH I love Magdalena and of course adore Isabel and all its variants

I have a love of love for Spanish names due to family ties Inez, Carmelita,Marina, Carmen etc all lovely

did I miss something, do you know its a girl or are you just musing?

ladies, didn't win the Euro lottery again so carry on as you were with all forms of employment

have made a banana/chocolate loaf to ease the pain though and about to make banana/caramel brownies - can you tell I've got a stack of ripe bananas needing used lol

cyteen · 18/07/2009 17:01

I've just made a batch of Buckets' aprodisiac cupcakes (((waistline))) Even the raw cake mix was so bloody gorgeous I couldn't keep my fingers out

Would anyone care to potter over to Children's Health and answer my Q about teething and temperatures? It's looking all sad and unloved...

dizzydixies · 18/07/2009 17:37

sound delish cyteen - the banana/chocolate loaf has been a hit which is nice considering I'm not a fan of anything with banana in it and DH not a fan of chocolately things

lasagne now in and its a fav of ours - made with tomatos/fresh basil/ mozerella and ricotta - we're having a night of indulgence and vino whilst the kids are away

VG hope DS1 feeling better today and has managed to enjoy his birthday cake & picnic

oopsacoconut · 18/07/2009 18:18

Dizzy - I think this is the bit you missed by LWFH 'The new baby moves much less than I remember Tom doing, so I have been thinking for a bit that she must be a girl. I asked at the US and they said "probably a girl but don't go out and buy pink clothes yet." So some nice news after a stressful day. DS of course fine when I went back to collect him.

Muffins went down a storm today and were all gone within 45 minutes although it was very quiet today. Anyone for chocolate tiffin?? I have left overs but too much for us to eat alone.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 18/07/2009 18:55

steak how is dd now?? Hope she is better.
How did it go with dh this afternoon??
re the ebay stuff you mentioned. I find that mothercare clothing does not sell at all. I am sure the french stuff will though. I buy lots of french stuff

All this baking going on.
I have been and bought all the things for the vanilla cake, but got home and noticed I had no vanilla left/
Made dh and dd some chocolate and cherry cookies.
I also made some lemon cupcakes with a splodge of lemon curd in side. mmmmmm I had 2.
off to hot mamas...

oops what is tiffin

dizzy I love love love lasagne. That sounds gorgeous with the ricotta and mozzeralla.

dizzydixies · 18/07/2009 19:00

oops thank you, I seemed to have missed a whole page

glad the muffins a success, DH and I have just demolished some lasagne, tis luverly - if anyone partial to lasagne but doesn't feel like a meat one or needs a veggie dish for some reason please pipe up

lwfh I suffered terribly with itching when pregnant with DD1 so you have my absolute sympathies - the GP told me I couldn't have anything for it but when I saw the consultant a week later he told me I could have anti-histamens just a certain type though - you should ask because at one stage I was about to rip through my skin with scratching and could only find relief in an oatmeal bath I hope it passes very quickly either way

sazz lovely to have you back where you belong and was lurking on the shiney thread when I saw them all missing you!

steaky how is Izzy today? did DH eventually turn up? hope you're doing ok

sambo lovely light, I haven't even thought about Dylan's birthday yet it still seems like ages away even though it isn't

DH and I nipped to tesco this afternoon and the lady that parked next to us was the one who was in the bay with me when I had Dylan - her wee boy (Flynn) is adorable and she was lovely and chatty and very kindly remembered me even though I was a drivelling/non sociable mess in the hosp - ah bless her

oopsacoconut · 18/07/2009 19:13

No1 - tiffin but I finish mine off by adding a layer of melted choc and sprinkles then let it set before cutting.

Dizzy - recipe please.

back later as Dsis is here as mum and dad have gone apartying (aaahh the joy of a child free night out and Dsis is 17!) She wants the puter!

oopsacoconut · 18/07/2009 19:14

No1 - I use cherries instead of dates and no brandy!

steaknife · 18/07/2009 19:26

Izzy is much better today though she has a blotchy rash on her face. Thanks for asking.

Dh did turn up just as I was going to put Izzy for her nap. But started with "she has a rash" - really I hadn't noticed thought it was a join the dots game I didn't say that, wish I had though.

He stayed half an hour. Half a pigging hour. He had some work stuff to do, fair enough, and then sorting out where he was staying. Too proud to stay at his parents. Just said he would pass again tomorrow and gave me 100 euros for the shopping - which I lost in the supermarket - hope whoever found it does something more interesting with it than food shopping.

He says it is over and we are going to look into if there are more benefits that i might be entitled to so we can stay, but I am also going to make plans to come back to the UK in September.

Though right now I feel like jacking it all in and going back now, if only for a few weeks. But that would be v stressful on Izzy.

Just don't know what to do and what plans to make.

I cannot explain just how effing angry I am at him.

No1 thanks for the ebay tip. I will save them for a car boot sale then. Don't you find French sizes tiny. I always buy Izzy's stuff six months too big. And English sizes are always humungous in comparison. I only just stopped using some Tesco 3-6m bodysuits.

Hey ho.

Ooh I likey likey the baking talk. Still not worked out our oven so a bit nervous of trying anything out at the moment.

dizzydixies · 18/07/2009 19:32

Steaky am going to sound harsh here and I hope I don't upset you by saying this but I think the plans you need to make are ones involving you and Izzy. Feck hm. He is acting like a childish twat, has made your life a misery and is frankly not giving you any support/help/reason to stay least of all being a decent dad to Izzy. Time for you - decide what you want and do it. If coming home is what you need to do then just do it - it won't be any more stressful on Izzy than being in the environment where you're miserable and all you and DH do is either argue or tiptoe about each other. It will either clear your mind OR make him realise what he stands to loose

sorry rant over

Dylan has just broken the laptop again but has also provided a comedy moment by smashing an ITNG cup over DH's head not good as its DD2s much loved mug and now its broken [meep]

steaknife · 18/07/2009 19:39

Dizzy I know I know.

All I wanted was for us to have a nice simple family life. No dramas, no failing businesses, no moving countries, just normal. Like other people have. Bastard bastard bastard.

oh and in a couple of days when the mobile bill comes he is going to lose it over the extra 100 euros on my tarrif.

Well I did tell him that I needed a landline put in, how does he expect me to talk to my family and friends for just 2 hours a month?

steaky I wouldn't worry my arse about the mobile bill, book a flight and sod off home. Tell him you'll be back when he stops behaving like an infant

VG glad to hear all went well
