Grrr. Just lost an enormous post.

The summary of it was

Llare & BelgianC - lovely to meet you today. Shall we arrange another Midlands meet up in the Summer holidays? Was the bra shopping successful?

Sausagen - I live in Northampton, so pretty close to Watford. Let me know if you fancy catching up (I won't be offended if you say no).

Jennster · 14/07/2009 17:11

Hello folks. Just had all three children all day for the first time. We made biscuits first thing, then went out for the day. My friend from school was back home from Ireland, so we went to my home town and met her and her little boy. He was absolutely gorgeous and so well behaved. We went for a walk and I pushed the older 2 and slung the baby when we went for a walk. I'm still here! They were really well behaved!

pulapula · 14/07/2009 17:57

Jennster- glad you had a nice day and that your 3 behaved themselves!

I have had a nice day in with Sam today whilst the other 2 were in nursery. Feeling much better as I have had some smiles from him today- he was really grumpy over the weekend (could it have been from his jabs last weds?). Also had 2 hours in bed together as struggling to get S to nap so had about an hour kip myself.

I have been really down the last few days, the ADs have some side effects (feeling sick, blurred vision?, more anxiety) and i've been weepier than ever and full of cold

llareggub · 14/07/2009 19:15

Just a quick one!

Had a lovely day with Tummum and BelgianChocolates. I'd love to do it again. x

Hello to everyone else, hope all ok.

Momino · 14/07/2009 22:19

day together. it's nice to finally put a face to a name, isn't it ?

Pula, hope you're feeling better Snuggling in bed with S sounds so lovely.

Jennster, so glad you had a good day with the 3. sounds like you did really well. see, it's not that difficult .

all quiet in the house. dh has tight chest and very tired so in bed early. the hypochondriac in me says 'swine flu' but i'm not going to think about that now. i'll be awake all night otherwise.

Harper was very smiley today and i even think she giggled . we all made it out of the house finally at 5pm ish (better late than never) after a light snack and before supper - i just wanted to get fresh air and be able to say i went out.

hope everyone sleeps well tonight.

Belgianchocolates · 14/07/2009 22:51

Hi everyone. Just a quick one and then off to bed as we had a short night last night, which was partly self inflicted and partly thanks to an explosive poo on C's part at 5.30 in the morning (it went throught her clothing, sleeping bag and onto her sheets)

It was lovely to meet tummum and llare today. I had a lovely time and we all had a good chat . Funny how it felt like meeting up with old friends!

The bra shopping went OK. We had split up by then. I'm now a 34F. Yay, well within reach of a HotMilk bra . I had a quick look on Figleaves and there were 2 whole pages of bras in my size. Very exciting, because before there were only 6 bras in my size!

tummum Hope your nanny situation is improving soon.

The rest of the day was lovely too. DS had a family barbeque thing at beavers so we all went there and had a great time.

C's now asleep in her crip. 2nd time I put her down upstairs and it's making me feel really bad. Like I'm abandoning her, even though I only put her down when I noticed she was sleepy.

sausagen When I moved in with DH I moved into his ex-marital home which I'm pretty sure was decorated by his ex wife. It felt really odd and I can sympathise with how you must feel, but luckily that was in the time before children. It took a few months, but fairly soon the house felt like mine by adding my bits and pieced and removing things I didn't like. He found it hard at first too, because there was I asking him to tidy up his stuff and not make a mess etc, while before he got to do what he liked. Funnily enough it's the other way around now, but I do accuse him of turning me into someone a bit more messy after moving in with him . Hope you get used to your new home soon. Find yourself a mother and toddler group or something similar so you get to know some women around where you live. Oh and have a meet up with lovely Tummum, you'll have a great time.

Goodnight everyone.

Belgianchocolates · 14/07/2009 22:52

that wasn't that quick after all...

Good luck Dandy my fingers are still crossed.

sausagenmash is the cricket in Birmingham on the 30th July or August? I leave really close to Birmingham so how do you fancy coming here while your DP is at the cricket? I can't promise Harry Potter though! You could get dropped off and picked up? I am very close to the M40 so dead easy!

It was lovely to meet up with Belgian and Tummum and I know exactly what you mean Belgian about meeting up with old friends. I guess we've all been gassing away now for over a year!

Well done jennster. I am so in awe of those of you with 3 children!]

Matthewandbumpsmummy I've avoided responding to your news because I just don't know what to say. I'm really sorry.

I met someone today with a baby born the day before G. I've been telling people that he is 9 weeks this week. Turns out that he is 11 weeks and I've got it completely wrong. He was last weighed at his 6 week check which I thought was fine when I thought he was 9 weeks. I'd better get to that baby clinic this week!

flippineck · 15/07/2009 08:36

Morning all! Nothing much to say today, I just like being the first on in sometimes!

Bit envious of these meet ups, sounds like you've been enjoying them. If there was ever another one in London I could possibly make it, although it'd be challenging getting the two of them on the train!

flippineck · 15/07/2009 08:38

dandy - fingers crossed for you today.

LoobyLou36 · 15/07/2009 08:39

morning all..

yesterday morning we tried out a new mum & baby group south of the city, the mums were more friendly and it was nice to get out. Then in the afternoon a friend drove us over to Malvern shopping, got M some lovely summer dresses for our holiday that's what child benefit is for

Off to BF group at 10 might get M weighed there as its been 2wks since last time - still can't believe she's 12wks tomorrow

got local mum & baby group tomorrow, it'll be really busy cos there's a professional photographer going to take pics

still no sign of a poo - it's been 8 days!! it's going to be huge

all M wants to do at the mo is feed - have to force myself to get out - sometimes with M screaming in the car seat she never has to wait long for next feed tho as groups I go to are only 30mins away tops

ReeBee · 15/07/2009 10:45

Morning ladies,

dandy, hope you get good news today.

llare, how funny about your mix up with G's age. I admit I keep calling F by the names of all the cats and dogs (and have even said good dog to him once or twice... ).

We had our 6 week check yesterday and F is fine except for having a swab taken for the sticky eye he's had since birth. I seem to be fine but still not comfortable- it might be stitches still healing (doctor called my episiotomy both 'extensive' and 'major'. Oh good ).

Off for lunch with some of the girls from my NCT group today. F is nearly the oldest so we haven't all met up before, really looking forward to it. Just waiting for blimming Tesco to deliver first.

Have been writing down F's activity patterns so I can use them to start a routine. I worked out that as he fed at 9pm on Mon night and slept till 4am (and fed again at 6am) Tues morning, if I fed him at 10pm he might sleep until 5am or 6am this morning, missing his 4am feed. What utter tosh! He woke up at 3.30am, starving hungry but decided to go without his 6am feed instead and slept until 7.15am. I shouldn't have tried to impose a routine on him, he's obviously a free spirit .

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 15/07/2009 11:09

Hello everyone

I have been absent for a few days as MN has not been loading for me . Very annoying, as it's my lifeline .

Anyhoo:

Matthewandbump........I don't know what to say apart from I can't begin to imagine what your friend is going through, it's too tragic to comprehend

sausage and Febes Hugs hugs hugs (and jugs of cocktails) whether you like them or not.

Dandy I hope the appeal goes well, what a total nightmare for you.

Reebee lol @ 'freespirit', S is one too! I keep calling all 3 girls by the wrong name - my mum used to call me by my brother's name, followed by the (very long) list of pet names before she got my name right

S is smiling now, she bestows them upon me mainly in the morning, along with some cooing. See, it's all been worth it!! She weight 11 & half lbs now, so she's cruising along the 91st centile , she's a chunk-muffin.

DD2 is on a school-trip to a farm today, she's very much hoping to bath a pig , she'll have a fab time. DH has whizzed up to Durham for the 2nd time to get S a passport (it all went well this time), so we can look at holidays. DD1 has her dress rehearsal for the play, I'll be going to see it tomorrow evening and I will be uber-proud mummy. DH and I are fine now, we've talked at length and got so much sorted. He's got someone coming to look at buying his business next week - it could be excellent news for us financially - fingers crossed!!

I'm going to make another coffee now and I will be back later to see if everyone's ok. So to those not name-checked, hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!

daizydoo · 15/07/2009 11:33

Morning everyone. Just a quick one to wish dandy all the best for today.

Reebee I was never any good at routines. Ds1 would always do his own thing!!

Looby I was going to ask about poos, but its only been 4 days here so I won't worry at the moment

Ds2 is getting to big for the crib so we put him in the big cot in his own room and he has been sleeping from about 10pm to between 2.30-3.30am and then going back into the cot until about 6-7am The only problem is that when he wakes he has a mega feed and then projectile vomits everywhere! I try to catch it in a muslin but dh just hung him over the bed last night so I was cleaning the carpet at 3.30am

Got to go ds1 is being a real pain this am. He objects to ds2 wearing a bib and keeps throwing things at him. Am struggling to keep it together this am!

SpangleMaker · 15/07/2009 12:14

Hi all. Not been on for a while as I've been feeling a bit down and trying to keep busy. I'm not really sure what's wrong, I just can't seem to shake a sombre feeling. I'm seeing the GP on Friday for H's repeat following-the-object-with-his-eyes test and might mention it to her. Perhaps it's just cumulative tiredness (H is still waking several times a night) and not getting out enough or having much structure to my days. Anyway, talked to DH about it last night and he has taken today off work to keep me company and help with H . He has to pop in to work shortly but we'll go with him and have a wander round the shops. I think taking up yoga again might help too - it's sorted me out in the past when I've been feeling down.

Dandy thinking about you & your school appeal. Fingers crossed for you.

Grumpy glad you're back on track with your DH.

Belgianchocolates · 15/07/2009 12:54

dandy good luck with your school appeal. I hope you get in.

grumpy excellent news that you and you DH are fine again. I'm also joining you in the super milk brigade. C has been cruising along the 98th line. Unlike ds and dd1 she hasn't zigzagged of it at all so far!

I had a 2nd huge poo in the early morning that leaked through yet another sleeping bag. So I don't know what C will sleep in tonight as they're now both washed and drying. I hope she stops that behaviour soon. On the other hand I can't complain really. I fed C last night at the barbecue (around 9 I think) and then put her down in her crib as soon as we got home. She settled herself off to sleep and I went to bed around 11, thinking I wouldn't try a dream feed as it's too soon after her last feed and I couldn't see it working. Anyway I woke up at 6.30 this morning with 1 rock boob (the other was strangely OK) as C was still happily sleeping . She woke about 15min later and had a feed. But that made it a 9, nearly 10h gap between feeds and a nearly 9h sleep . So today I feel great!

We also get most of our smiles here in the morning. C spent 2h today on her playmat kicking away, then batting at her baby gym followed by a good old chat with mum

I've also just splashed out on a Hotmilk bra today. Can't wait for it to arrive later this week!

Right time to go and do some groceries now.

Belgianchocolates · 15/07/2009 12:57

spangle I hope you get some sleep and that you'll feel better soon. Do talk to your GP. You don't want to let that down mood get worse.

LoobyLou36 · 15/07/2009 14:10

back from bf group where I fed her for most of the time, M cried all the way home and I fed her for another hour when I got home, she's now asleep on her bouncy chair - fingers crossed she'll sleep for a bit now

Had M weighed at group - first time in 2wks. She's only put on 4.5 ounces I was worried she wasn't getting enough milk thro bf alone hv said it will prob take a while for my milk to catch up but to keep at it.

Oh no M has woken up - hungry again

pulapula · 15/07/2009 14:10

belgian- your C is certainly coming on well- what a good night's sleep. i feel like S is regressing sometimes, feeding twice between his dreamfeed at 11 and morning .

LoobyLou36 · 15/07/2009 14:17

still no poo - eight days now

flippineck · 15/07/2009 15:38

looby - I had A weighed this afternoon, she'd only put on 4 ounces too. HV wasn't a bit worried (even thought A has now dropped to the 50th centile from the 75th) and said it just happens sometimes.

runningmonkey · 15/07/2009 15:43

Hi all not had time to post but been reading.

Saus, I know slightly how you feel having moved at 35 weeks. I have been to acouple of mum n baby groups but everyone seems to know each other from antenatal groups. Will have to persevere I think. I think I am just over an hour from Watford (Cambridge) so we could try to find somewhere to meet up halfway if you like?

Dandy I hope today went your way, have been thinking of you

Sorry not hamechecked everyone

pulapula · 15/07/2009 15:50

Hello all, having a lazy afternoon whilst DCs are at nursery. S has been sleeping on me for nearly 2 hours. Getting a bit bored now though...

Blottedcopybook · 15/07/2009 18:04

Good luck for today Dandy!

Greer had her 6 week check today (a little late!) and she's 11lb 2oz! She had been following the centile and now she's skipped above it for weight. She's down a little on length but she's piling on the chunk so I reckon she'll take a stretch soon. Dr isn't bothered about her hernia, they said they'll see her back in a year.

First vaccs tomorrow then we leave on Friday to go on holiday! Camping for 10-14 days with four children - am I batshit?
