Blimey, quiet thread tonight !

Llare the town I was thinking of (where DH went to school) was Llandeilo. Durr

Belgianc yay for the new bra size! The Nanny situation is much improved - but I need to make sure I keep on giving her feedback, which I hate!

Dandy have you heard anything? Have been thinking of you

Looby G normally holds out for 8-10 days the results are pretty explosive and normally ruin outfits and carpets

daizyd we have been thinking of moving G into a cot in his room. He is now sleeping 8.30-8.30 (how lucky am I?) but waking me up in the night with viagarous thumb sucking!

My nips are really hurting tonight. Think G is going through (another) growth spurt and he is really going for it when he latches on. I had hoped this sort of thing would stop by now!

flippineck · 15/07/2009 22:27

It is quiet, isn't it? Just popped in before I go to bed, A has been really really grumpy and miserable this evening. She's been sick loads, not projectile but little bits very often. She's asleep now, fortunately, and I'll be off to bed soon.

As I mentioned very quickly earlier in reply to Looby, I got A weighed this afternoon, she's only gained 4 ounces in the last 12 days but not too worried, there are plenty of possible reasons why - different scales, and A has had a cold and terrible snottiness for the last week or so. It wasn't the normal HV, it was someone else which was a shame, I could have done with a bit of a chat with the HV about how things are going. If I'm brave I'll phone her, but it would have been much easier for her to ask and me to reply, iyswim?

A has her first lot of immunisations tomorrow. I've got to take DD1 with me too, hope she's ok with it - I've explained what will happen but I'm not sure how much she understood. After we've been there though we're going to go and choose knickers for DD1 as the very early stages of potty training, eek!

pulapula · 15/07/2009 22:30

tummum - G sleeping 12 hours at night . S does sleep 7pm-7am, but has a dreamfeed at 11ish and then seems to wake at least twice and i always feed him if i can't get him back to sleep with a cuddle/dummy.

I also tend to sleep with DH in the spare bedroom until S wakes in the early hours and then usually end up co-sleeping with S, so in a way, he is already partly in his own room - our bedroom . We are planning to get his nursery ready for when he is about 4mo (it's currently a junk room).

flippineck · 15/07/2009 22:30

Oh, and blotted - you are possibly barking! Camping for that long with 4 children?!

FiKelly · 16/07/2009 06:39

morning

dandy hope your appeal result was good news

another one here that has grown out of her crib. we've had to sort out our room to put her cot bed up. she slept in it last night and now doesn't upset herself up getting her arms stuck in the side bars of the crib.. she looks v comfy but a little lost in it!!? it has helped my sleeping as she doesn't wake me when she moves about now.. g has been sleeping 10pm ish to 6ish for about a week now. this long sleep is still preceded by feeding pretty much all evening though.. which is making me v hungry before bed!

dh back to work now and i've been getting used to juggling ds and g, ds's activities, meals and chores. today is a quieter day hopefully as no planned ds activities.. just what we feel like.

Momino · 16/07/2009 07:09

vaccs - good luck today!
will come back on later to catch up. hope all are well.

going to be a fun and busy here as it's T4 on the beach this sat. they're setting up the stage etc atm. in previous years i've taken ds down to the beach and sat outside the fenced off area still with a great view of the stage & screens and we've listened to the music, had a picnic and made sandcastles. think we'll check out forecast for sat before thinking of going this time.

Jennster · 16/07/2009 08:56

fikelly Just had a nosey at your profile to see where you were, and noticed your book preferences. Have you read any of the Lord John books? Are they any good? I can't wait for the next outlander book to be published.

LoobyLou36 · 16/07/2009 09:07

morning all...

still no poo 9 days now and she seems more uncomfortable and windy, she squirms and squirms and pulls off when she feeds rang the HV and she said to try apple juice mixed with cold boiled water - anyone ever tried this?

we've got mum & baby group later and having pics done have sorted out a cute dress and pants for M to wear - might take a spare outfit tho - whats the chance M will do explosive poo there?

M is sat in bouncy chair near tv watching lady gaga - she seems transfixed, waving her arms and making noises at her

pulapula · 16/07/2009 09:30

Looby- she seems a bit young to be having apple juice? Have you tried bicycling her legs or rubbing her tummy? that might help?

FiKelly · 16/07/2009 09:36

jennster i haven't got round to reading the lord john books.. i keep meaning to get them as i'm sure i'll enjoy them. I think maybe It would have been helpful before i'd read her last book. I get impatient for her next book too. must remember to update my profile page as haven't added g!

looby we did diluted pear juice with ds but not until we started weaning early at about 5months.. apples kept him constipated

Blottedcopybook · 16/07/2009 10:21

Looby I had to do the juice route with one of mine (can't remember which) and I used pear juice instead of apple because it's a bit more potent!

frazzledoldbag · 16/07/2009 10:52

just popping in to book mark. am so rubbish at keeping up these days but hellllooooooo anyway to all x

Momino · 16/07/2009 11:38

looby, hope M has her poo soon (but notat photo session!).

just got Harper weighed - she's 10lb12 oz so staying along 25th cent. Importantly, she looks quite healthy with a round tummy and chubby cheeks, smiles so i guess she'll catch up in weight to the others at an older age like dd1 &2.

nothing planned today but I'm hoping to tidy this house a bit . just don't seem to have motivation or energy to do so these days. wish we had a cleaner, at those who do.

pulapula · 16/07/2009 14:04

Afternoon ladies,

I was just wondering whether anyone else has noticed their LO taking a lot less time on a feed? S is now 9.2 weeks old, and the last couple of days i have been spacing his feeds out to every 3 hours and he literally feeds for 5 mins on one breast and doesn't always want much from the second. Sometimes i try and put him back on and he cries, but then if i try again moments later he might or might not take more, so i'm never sure when to continue...maybe he is just getting more efficient. He will be weighed next Tues so at least i will find out then if he is still gaining weight.

runningmonkey · 16/07/2009 14:28

Hiya. Too tired to post sorry but hope everyone ok

Belgianchocolates · 16/07/2009 14:41

Afternoon everyone,

frazzled nice to see you here. Llare and Tummum were wondering about you at our meet up. Nice to here you're OK.

looby I thought that M would be a little bit young for apple juice too. We used prune juice when both ds and dd1 got constipated, but both were about 1 and on solids. I really wouldn't worry too much if I were you. She's clearly working on it if she appears uncomfortable. C seems to be slowly working her way down to 1 poo a day and always spends a few hours working up to it, being a bit unsettled. Also well done on the 4.5oz weight gain It sounds little, but imagine how worried you'd be if it was nothing or if M had lost weight Have a good time at your photo shoot!

fi That T4 thing sounds like fun. I hope it'll be dry for you on Saturday, so you can have a day on the beach.

C slept until 6.30 for the 2nd night in a row. I did give her a dream feed around 11, just because I didn't want to run the risk of her waking in the night, despite her 9-6.30 sleep the night before. pula C does take very little time with each feed now too. Earlier today she must have had 5 mins and then kept crying on/off after a few mins I realised she must be full. Once she was off the boob she was happy, so. I was a little worried too that she's still feeding the same amount of time during the day and sleeping through the night, but I keep telling myself that she would tell me if she's hungry, so she must be OK.

We've had a busy morning. I dropped of the dcs at school and then realised that it was their sports day this morning, so I had to stay. I wasn't prepared and hadn't got a bag/spare nappies/pram. Luckily C slept straight through on my lap. From there it was straight to the GP's for a coil fitting (not very nice) after a quick stop at home first to grab my bag and a nappy for C. After that we went on to the beauticians to have various body parts waxed (as if I hadn't suffered enough pain yet today) and my nails manicured and overlayed with gel. Luckily C carried on sleeping through it all. Somehow I managed to do 3 loads of washing inbetween all that and I've just finally finished my lunch.

SpangleMaker · 16/07/2009 15:01

Hi all. Feeling better here after a day with DH (even if we did spend half of it at his work) and NCT group this morning. It was lovely and sunny too although it's started raining now. One of the babies (a week younger than H) has started teething well, no sign of an actual tooth yet but is doing all the teething things. Surely 14 weeks is incredibly early (please tell me it is!)?

frazz lovely to 'see' you

Re feeding I've worried about H feeding so quickly and that he isn't getting enough. he screams if I try to put him back and he's full though (or just smiles at my nipple, as if to say 'don't be so silly, mummy', which is very cute). I had him weighed on Tuesday and he was 12lb 2oz, pretty much following the 50th centile.

FiKelly · 16/07/2009 15:58

oh dear.. I eventually got round to expressing off one boob while feeding grace on the other and i've given up already after struggling to get half an ounce! so will have to try it in mornings instead?!

forecast for sat.. torrential rain.. think we'll watch T4 on the telly with the music drifting up from the beach..

Momino · 16/07/2009 16:21

Fi, i just tried to express as well and got half an oz. Mornings seem best for me but I have to wake early. we'll be watching t4 on the telly as well! must be exciting to live close.

spangle, really sweat about H smiling, 'don't be silly mummy'... .

Harper seems to feed quickly sometimes so that when I try to put her back on she cries, bobs on/off, kind of 'yells' at my nipple . but then she'll be hungry an hour later so not sure if she's going through growth spurt.

Spangle - my DCs didn't cut any teeth until 6 months, but the drooling and grumbling starts some time before teeth appear. I think Belgianchocs said her DS and DD were early teethers?

pulapula · 16/07/2009 16:26

Well S is asleep, but i need to wake him for a feed and then make tea for DS1 and collect DD from nursery (and then get all 3 to bed for the first time on my own). I wonder if he is napping well because he is on his tummy .

essenceofSES · 16/07/2009 17:27

Still trying to catch up...

DS asleep on me at the moment. Tried putting him down but he immediately wakes up and he's not slept much today. Please excuse the slow one-handed typing with left hand!

DS was weighed today for the first time in 2 weeks. He's put on a pound in 2 weeks and is now 9lb 15oz and 59cm long.

Went to Bumps and Babes this afternoon. There was a lady there from Sing&Sign. The idea is from 6 months you sing songs with them and use signs to encourage their communication and understanding. Not quite sign language but seemed to make sense! Has anyone else come across it?
