Lurverly dress Aubergenie Wish I'd bothered to look now when I went to Bluewater last week but I just walked in Monsoon, looked at the rugby scrum and backed out!

CSWS- Glad the vomitting stopped but for the nappies. Do you think it's all over now?

Jenwa- for your hearing making you feel so low. Maybe if you talk to your boss there might be something they can do help? Maybe a change to your role? Or that might be totally not what you want. Good luck for the Next sale tomo. I've always been too lazy to go but did my online vip shop earlier this week and spent way too much

MM- Great to hear from you, glad you are feeling better. Sorry to hear about ds and dd. Bet they will be so excited to have you home.

Ds has been very whingy this evening. We were out all afternoon meeting a friend in the park nearby and he was very happy but then at home so grumpy. It feels like it's been such a long week and I'm shattered so in the end I called dh who was at a work leaving do and asked him to come home. Which he did so he is in my good books

CantSleepWontSleep · 17/07/2009 20:54

wow, gorgeous dress Aubergenie.

No more sickness - hurrah!

Anyone else struggling with a baby who insists on standing up in the bath all the time? Ds likes to cruise around ours, but he slipped and cut his mouth again tonight.

Not had bath standing here yet CSWS- ds sounds like he is doing so well with standing and cruising if he can do it in water! Though obv you don't want him cutting his mouth. Ds can now pull himself up to his knees so peers over the cot, it's being lowered tomorrow morning.

csws - yes that happens to us. Q only wants to stand in the bath and climb out but then once out, wants back in! fickle pickle.

jenwa and aubergenie yes we will get together soon for taht. We had lunch today but I had Q with me. I've explained to her (via email) how I'm feeling so we'll see how that goes. It's more to do with how I just totally feel like a doormat a lot. And I know this sounds silly, but I think I'm missing her now more because Im realizing how alone I feel now that I have a baby. It's lovely to have my MN friends of course... but she's the only friend I have from before Q who has kids - so no one else understands what it's like.

I feel a bit crap saying that. I'm so happy I get to spend time with Q and not work, but at the same time I feel so alone. I've been very upset/crying a lot lately over the stupidest things. I think maybe I do need a pill to help.

star6 · 17/07/2009 21:15

Yay for Naomi standing on her feet!!! Keep her sitting for a while yet... enjoy it! . I feel horrible for saying it but I don't want Q to walk

Wow Rachie that he left the work leaving do! Good man. Dh is currently at his end of school year work do - it's on a boat on the thames... a booze cruise.

Q waved the other day - and today on purpose a few times... but won't do it on command so he shows us up a lot when we tell people he can wave!
He consistently does "high five" when Dh puts his hand up and says "high five", though. It's cute. We praise him so much every time that before he does the high five he squeals with excitement (I think in anticipation of the clapping and praise!)

True myjob. I feel 100x better than I did at first when Q was born. Every time a MW would visit or I would go to chemist... anything I'd burst into tears. I'm well past that. So yeah maybe PMT didn't think of that. I just never used to get any premenstrual symptoms really.

Sorry about the dentist I hope he/she was nice to you.

star6 · 17/07/2009 21:21

LOL about that video image of N myjob!!! What a cutie!

Star I'm so sorry you feel like that but I don't think you are alone in feeling alone- if that makes sense. I've felt like that through must of my maternity leave and still do now sometimes but less so thankfully. Are there any parent and baby/toddler groups near you? I've ended up being very active as I can't cope with too many days in with just me and ds. I love him more than anything but I need company too.

I've stupidly not wanted to tell many people how I felt to as I didn't want it to look like I'm not coping. So selfishly for me it is reassuring to know that someone else feels like me. My mum has been very supportive, dh knows but doesn't really get it. Maybe speak to your GP or HV if they are supportive? I really think this feeling is normal though as becoming a mum is such a huge transition and also it's not like starting a new job when you have colleagues around to support you. We actually have to seek out support and friendships which can be really hard to do when you are feeling low.

I've gathered hugging isn't the done thing but feck it I'm sending you one!

star6 · 17/07/2009 21:31

oh no, myjob. That's awful! I'm not sure how dentists work here... but can't you get an appointment sooner since it's causing you pain?

star6 · 17/07/2009 21:34

back at you rachie with the unspoken h word
relieved to hear you feel that way too!! It's so hard because you feel like you should be feeling nothing but utter happiness with your LO. I do love Q to bits, though.

RachieW · 17/07/2009 21:35

Myjob for dentist! N sounds so cute

Star- Dh coming home was a rarity, if he had been out with "the boys" I wouldn't have bothered asking . TBH if it had been vice versa I'd have been livid if he'd have called me home but that's because I'm unreasonable I have ds all day everyday.

for you myjob. That doesn't sound nice at all. I do not understand the whole healthcare system here still. Was in awe of the public free medical care for all when we moved here... thought how wonderful that everyone gets the same care... but now I see that it has its disadvantages. NOT saying what goes on in the US is better... it's not. I've always been fortunate enough to be on my parent's health insurance or have teaching jobs with fabulous health insurance packages... but my sister is often unemployed and would be completely screwed if she had an emergency

RachieW · 17/07/2009 21:49

I know Star you do feel like you should be on top of the world but in reality I find motherhood hard. Friends and colleagues comment on how well I'm looking which is nice of them but really I want to say well actually I'm struggling but don't because I feel a bit silly. I'm so lucky as well as J is a very easy baby, or so far he is, but that makes me feel worse sometimes, like why should I be finding this hard when he is so good?

Having said all this over the last 1-2 months I've been feeling better and more settled in my mummy role. This is prob because work is looming!

Honeymoonmummy · 17/07/2009 22:05

Hi all, I've not read and just a quickie cos I have a Dominoes Pizza downstairs with my name on it but...DH and I just had an accident with a condom And it's my fertile time And neither of us are that bothered about it!

However, am not sure if I should stop taking the sertraline AD's if there's a chance... I'm off for a quick look. Hope you're all OK.

RachieW · 17/07/2009 22:08

HMM. Not sure if I am more jealous over the pizza or sex life .
