Dominos is lovely. I had it last weekend. I want it now. Yes the pizza wins tonight

star6 · 17/07/2009 22:17

we had an accident about a week ago and I could feel my pulse in every vein in my body, could barely breathe and had horrid dreams that night about living in a 1 bed maisonette with 2 babies!!

star6 · 17/07/2009 22:21

myjob I think about dominoes often now, too!! Dh doesn't like dominoes - he'd prefer pizza from one of those random pizza shops on the high street but I'd never eat that pizza... but I loved dominoes . I think McDonalds smells bad, don't like it there, don't like fast food places in general (except subway but even that's a bit gross sometimes). But dominoes has changed me a bit.... I like it!

star6 · 17/07/2009 22:22

I think I'm going to pick a number and every month on that date I'll get to have dominoes! I should make it 31 so it's not every month!

You do that, myjob. An experiment for MN. How selfless and helpful of you... in the name of MN oct 08 postnatal

star6 · 17/07/2009 22:29

ok I gave Q 2.5 ml calprofen and then 2.5 ml calpol tonight b/c he's clawing at both ears so hard and teething on everything in sight... is that ok? Someone said it's ok to give both right? or did I dream that?

CSWS - Thank you SO MUCH for the lentil recipe and the cereal bar recipe... I've seen that just now. I will make them tomorrow!

lol at 'everyone ends up soaked' - isn't that the point of a bath?!

No waving or clapping here. Too hard to take your hands off to clap when you're busy standing up all the fecking time .

That's fine star. Ds had 5ml calpol, and 2.5ml nurofen an hour later when he woke again.

Pistachio- we are probably all secret sobbers. We should just admit it. Well apart from one new mum I met who has already ran a marathon but that's just wrong

This is possibly a very sexist stereotyping but is it more likely that girls clap and wave before boys? Just wondering as ds loves to crawl, climb, try to stand, use me as a climbing frame, rip magazines to shreds but won't wave or clap. My friends dd who is 2 weeks younger does none of these things but waves like the queen and claps beautifully. I'm just wondering if gender has something to with the development of fine motor skills and gross motor skills. Actually should probably know this in my new role as Nursery teacher so will do a google

star6 · 17/07/2009 23:29

Yes rachie - that is true. Not 100% of the time, but there is research to show it is generally true

CantSleepWontSleep · 18/07/2009 06:41

Boys meant to be slower with fine motor skills, but is waving a fine motor skill? I'm never sure except for the obvious ones!

CantSleepWontSleep · 18/07/2009 08:06

Jeez - where is everyone. I've been up for 3 hours, and there's still no-one to chat to. Ah well, will go and run a bath then.

Honeymoonmummy · 18/07/2009 08:42

Hey all. I love the way the Dominos dominated the conversation more than the accident!! Unfortunately DH got me the wrong one so I ended up scraping off the topping and just eating the base! Was still nice tho with the dips!!!

CSWS, no, original plan was to start trying again in Aug but last doc I went to (who persuaded me to start again on sertraline) said was more sensible to postpone for 6 months till I got myself sorted out...oops!

'Tis highly unlikely that I'm PG tho cos of the way it happened, so don't all get your knitting needles out yet!!

How you doing MM?

See you all later!

Honeymoonmummy · 18/07/2009 08:42

Anyway, last time I knew in myself I was PG within a week so you don't need to wait too long...

jenwa · 18/07/2009 08:49

aubergenie lovely dress . How old is your friend who wears aids and is it a high frequency loss? I dont know anyone my age who is in the same situation, helps to know there are others who are, obviously not nice for them but nice to be able to not be soo singled out. I have the same probs as your friend and busy places or quiet people are difficult to follow.
rachie difficult to change my role but they are trying to sort me a phone and I think I have to start telling patients about my hearing before they think I am being rude , nice your DH came home for you

myjon bless N falling and still smiling at your ds. Poor you and your tooth though maybe go back and take a bite of his hand and say "see its sharp"!

Been to next this am and MIL got it all for me £135 !!! See she is not always a bad dragon

star I agree with myjob and dont think your depressed but more likely tired and also its a big change to your life, however, you can develop PND about now too, life has become more routine and the relationship you had with DH changes etc so just keep an eye on it. Also you have a dear friend who is being fab but now has another interest so you may feel like you are suddenly alone but you really are not and I bet if you were really upset she would see you rather than her new man to cheer you up

hm at you and your exciting pizza a dn sex life, thats what every man likes

Marthasmama · 18/07/2009 08:53

Stop talking about pizza! You're making me hungry! I hate this stupid hospital food, it's vile. Yesterday I was presented with some carrots that were so dayglo orange they looked like they'd been painted. I am trying to convince the nurses to let me go home today but I don't think it's going to work! I can't reply to you all properly as I can't look back at your posts with the iPhone.

Myjob - what a nasty dentist! That is totally unacceptable, you should complain. NHS or private, they are there to treat you not just leave you in pain. You cannot be expected to suffer for a month!

Star - mmmmmm...... Dominoes!

Jenwa - hope you've sharpened your elbows for the sale!

Aubergenie - lovely dress. Green looks great with dark hair.

CSWS - no standing in the bath, but she does try crawling in the bath. Is waving not to do with social/communication skills which girls are supposed to be faster at developing too? I'm not sure though.....

Pistachio - maybe T is just waving in a meh way because he is above such trivial things.

RachieW · 18/07/2009 09:37

Morning all! We were supposed to be going to Broadstairs today but the weather looks a bit hit and miss for the beach so we're going to the Hop Farm instead. Really looking forward to a family day out, having said that none of us are dressed yet.

CSWS- I can't find anything about waving being fine or gross motor skills. Fine are listed as hand movements and gross as arm so I guess it depends if your dc waves with just their hand or their whole arm J does neither.

Jenwa- Great news about the sale and MIL being so generous I can imagine telling every patient about your hearing isn't what you want to do

Star and I had a quick chat last night about meeting up in two weeks. We're going to go Godstone Farm in Surrey on Thursday 30th July. Can anyone else make it? We're going to meet at 11.30

Marthasmama · 18/07/2009 10:16

Booooo! I would have been up for going to Godstone Park. It's great there and it's ds's birthday on the 31st. Have fun at the Hop Farm Rachie. It's one of those places I never think to go to as it's fairly close to me. Bit like the dockyard in Chatham.

Nice one about the Next goodies Jenwa! I would die of shock if my mil paid for something like that! Bet you wish you'd found more now.

Hello hmm. So you're going to have another October baby then?

I'm allowed home today! Yay yay yay! I think I might get pizza for dinner......

aubergenie · 18/07/2009 10:18

Ohh HMM, very exciting! You'll definitely beat me to it at the rate we're going.

Myjob - I couldn't find the dress on the website so I went to google images and googled Monsoon+ the dress name and it came up.

S is always trying to stand up in the bath but I'm terrified about him hurting himself so we don't let him. Is that really mean of me?

Waving contitutes a gross motor skill, I think, CSWS. S can wave and clap now but only when he feels like it and not on demand which makes me look a bit silly.

Jenwa - my friend is in her 40s. I'm not sure what her hearing loss is called. I know she's got tinnitus as well. I think maybe it's not as severe as yours as she's got one hearing aid. You've got two haven't you?

Really hope they let you out today MM!!

I won't be around for the meet up as we'll be in France... for a month!! I can't wait.

Oh, and if anyone lives near a Habitat, they've got some lovely toys in the sale. I bought S this wooden ambulance yesterday. He loves it!

aubergenie · 18/07/2009 10:19

X post MM. Brilliant news!

CantSleepWontSleep · 18/07/2009 10:26

You do like to make these meet ups a long way from me don't you?! I might be able to make it, but only if we can meet earlier, as I'd come direct from dropping dd at school. Barring major hold ups, that would make it about 10:30 when I arrived. And I'd have to make sure that mil could pick dd up from school and look after her for an hour or so.

Then can we have the next meet up at somewhere like Willows Farm?
