Hi ladies. Not had chance to read all your posts but wanted to let you know that we're still around - just not regularly! A got 2 teeth, still wakes about 5 times a night and I'm knackered. Ds being a challenge too so never get chance to get on 'puter. Hope you're all enjoying your LO before they get too fast on the move. Get the cuddles in before they can escape!

Smudgey! It'll sound like I'm making it up, but I was wondering about you only today (or it may have been yesterday - time gets a bit blurred for me!). Glad to hear that you are alive and well!

Myjob - I'm back at pre-pg weight (from before I had dd) and feeling pleased in one way, but unfortunately that weight was about 2-3stone above my ideal weight (the one I was when I started work ) so I still have quite a way to go. I'm hoping this dairy & egg free malarkey will mean I do lose some weight as there aren't many desserts I can actually eat, so it removes temptation!

Ds is still waking up in the night several times, but last night we put him down on his tummy at about 11 and he slept through till 5.30,so we did that from the start this evening and are hoping it will work....

Can't remember any of the posts I just read - I've just had a glass of wine and that seems to be affecting my memory . I think I should go to bed now maybe!

Ha ha ha! That's brilliant Pistachio. I actually laughed out loud there! It is exactly the sort of thing we would have tried with ds.

star6 · 08/07/2009 22:15

lol me too pistachio laughed out loud... that's hilarious!

I put this train with these 16 shape pieces way up high and dh just got it down and now the pieces are all over the floor. Q has not gone to bed b/c we were babysitting for my friend and he slept from 7-8pm and is now totally WIRED. . I'm doubtful he'll ever settle at this point.

CantSleepWontSleep · 08/07/2009 22:43

Oh that's a classic pistachio - bravo!

Off to bed now. Night all.

OP posts:
RachieW · 08/07/2009 23:09

Pistachio- I love it! Ds has been trapped behind a closed door too, next time I'll use your method and not flap about in a panic

Had a really busy day, been to baby group, lunch with a friend and then friends over for dinner. Also had two big glasses of wine so feeling a bit tipsy

Myjob- well done with getting back to nearly pre-preg weight. I'm nowhere near reaching mine but I've not been trying Since ds was born I've such a sweet tooth so I'm having at least one cake/pudding a day. I'm kind of hoping once I start back to work I won't have time to eat as much so it will be easier to loose weight. I used to be quite obsessed with being skinny but now I feel there is more to life, having said that I wouldn't be happier any bigger so I need to reign in the chocolate consumption!

Jenwa- Glad work went well

Off to sleep now.

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/07/2009 05:19

Grr. Fed ds at 4, then sucked on throat sweet as could barely swallow, then dd got up, then 10mins peace, then ds woke screaming and I discovered that he'd pooed, prob during or just after his feed, so changed nappy which woke him and now he won't go back to sleep. Am at a loss.

star6 · 09/07/2009 07:48

Q went to bed at 10 and up 3 times then up for the day at 5.45. Not sure how he's not tired...

I have my Laptop back

When DP came home yesterday I said to him what a good job I have facebook on my phone and checked it as I have been invited out on Sunday. He then apologised and said he had thought about it and remembered that I keep in touch with people on both mn and fb. He put them back on this morning

We had a very fun day yesterday . I took DD and DS to the hospital to have their eyes tested as DS has a squint and DD has a tiny one too. I missed the first appt a month ago so phoned and rebooked, they said they would send a letter but didn't. When i got there, they weren't booked in and had actually been discharged luckily they were very kind and had a couple of free spots later on that the gave us. DD was as good as gold, didn't mind the lights in her eyes and didn't even wimper with the drops, her eyes have no probs and she actually has good vision for her age. DS was a whole other story, he screamed and kicked, tried to bite and smack. In the end I had to sit on him so she could look into his eyes 1 last time. He is longsighted so does need glasses I'm going to pick them up next week. He needs a review in 5 months, I've told DP he is taking him!

I'm back at pre preg weight but still feel like hell, I didn't feel so fat before. Now I look in the mirror and I'm huge.

Thats is the sort of thing we would try here pistachio

I hope you get more sleep tonight CSWS, that sounds horrible

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/07/2009 09:04

I fed him again in the end to settle him, and he slept from about 5:45 until 8:45. I was up with dd before then, but did get some extra sleep.

Yay for having laptop back pf.

Throat sweet was for me star.

star6 · 09/07/2009 09:34

yay for having mn back pf
I thought so csws, but it was in same sentence so wasn't sure and I thought, well, maybe with blw they can handle throat drops as well! amazing babies!

ronshar · 09/07/2009 13:47

Having a nightmare in the ronshar house.
DD2 is back to her most unpleasant behaviour. She been fab for weeks. I really lost my temper and tipped her off her chair by accident at lunch time. I only meant to pull it away from the table so I could send her to her bedroom! Her poor little face. I feel so horrible right now. I try so hard to hold on to my temper. But she has been up since 5am and woke everyone up.
Do I stop her going to Gym this afternoon as punishment or would the time apart be better for me. What to do.

star6 · 09/07/2009 13:48

been reading that raising kids veggie thread... wow, some interesting opinions!

star6 · 09/07/2009 13:59

I'd send her to get the cool down time for you and her then deal with behaviour after if it continues.... I'm guessing Gym might actually help some of underlying cause of misbehaviour? but I've never had a child of my own over 9 months so I could be talking rubbish

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/07/2009 14:09

Send her ronshar. You need the break, and she will be in a better mood for it.

OP posts:
Marthasmama · 09/07/2009 14:21

Ronshar - I have that dilemma lots with ds. We have stopped him going somewhere as punishment on a few occasions but it is really us who have suffered as a result! I am terrible for making big statements then feeling that I have no choice but to follow through with them. If you haven't mentioned it to her then I would send her, have a break and maybe think of something else as punishment. Oh and I used to secretly love it when my mum stopped me going to ballet as punishment as a child.

I am fed up. I got DH and I some cake from a bakery stand in our local shopping centre and mine is yuck. I was torn between chocolate brownie and carrot cake, I opted for carrot cake with what I thought was cream cheese icing (mmmmm) but it was some foamy shite that tasted awful. DH has a huge doughnut with caramel in it. He offered to swap (very half-heartedly) but I don't like doughnuts or caramel.
