jenwa · 07/07/2009 21:37

yes star mil is having P, cant understand why she does not stay at hers and give her lunch and let fil collect boys like normal rather then she go too purely to tell dd1 she is coming back later
Sorry your DH was a pita, men Can you not just do the sleep thing on your own at your friends house

rachie not sure about the looking good pics! There is usually alot of make up involved Agree with mil thing, will just let her do it her way and see what happens. Wont bother sending a list now either as clearly no point.

myjob I really dont have high standards, I just like it to be nice and sparkly I love it smelling nice but it usually smells of men and children men of course meaning DH not any other random men

mm glad M is feeding again, sorry you had to take her to the loo though, poor M although maybe being blocked up was in her favour at that point lol re shouty dragon too!

Marthasmama · 07/07/2009 21:44

Jenwa! I meant for a wee!!!!

RachieW · 07/07/2009 22:06

Jenwa- you make me lol! Poor MM and your blocked up comment

Myjob- I think the patience comes from knowing that at 3pm they go home to their mummies and daddies Mind you in a few years time will be going home to my own 3yr old so don't know what will happen to my patience then!

star6 · 07/07/2009 22:12

MM glad she has fed again
MM I'd say that to DH but he wouldn't know how to put him back to sleep. He'd probably get him up and play with him or try to feed him formula. Sometimes I do wish men could lactate on command.

DH just implied I've gained weight since being off work... I KNOW that I have and it's more than I should have, but I just think it's out of line for a dh to mention it. He's on my naughty list tonight Maybe I'll put Q in bed with me and not let him in.

myjob - yes I'm sure it was intentional

star6 · 07/07/2009 22:17

Jenwa - are you gone at work for a long day tomorrow or do you start of with fewer hours? Is it a long commute? Best wishes, I'm sure P will be fine - and very happy to see you at the end of the day

star6 · 07/07/2009 22:19

I agree Rachie - that's where my patience ends with my age group, too. Not sure what I'll do when I have my own at home that age well, that's a long way off isn't it?

Marthasmama · 07/07/2009 22:28

Star - I would love for someone to invent a pill or something that could make a man lactate! Imagine that! Although I am convinced that if men had to breast feed and put up with the cracked nipples, the blocked ducts, the thrush...the human race would have died out thousands of years ago! You're a perfect weight for your height. If you've put on weight, then that's probably a good thing! It is so difficult to run around after children when you're skinny as a rake. He should definitely be on your naughty list. In ds's class room at school there is a sun and a rain cloud. If the children misbehave they go on the rain cloud. You need one of those for DH.

Oh meant to tell you....Oh the shame..... We went to DS's open evening at the school last night. His report was excellent so we weren't concerned. Turns out he is top in the class for literacy, top three for reading and top five for maths! But he is lazy. No surprise there. We were reading through his project work and came to the Our Town project. They all had to make models of buildings in the town. DS made a pub, because 'My favourite place in Gillingham is the pub because I can drink froot shoots' DH and I roared with laughter. It was so DH is proud, I am gutted!

star6 · 07/07/2009 22:29

We finally got a safety gate that fits! I have one in the living room and one at the stairs now. When I go around the corner to wash dishes and Q is in living room, he cries. He's started crying whenever I leave any room. Do your lo's do this? He used to be ok with it as long as he could hear my voice. I can see him still from kitchen but he can't see me. I don't want him to be an insecure child....

star6 · 07/07/2009 22:33

LOL about the My Town project, MM how cute!! I'll bet his teacher couldn't wait to show you
at the sun and rain cloud for age 6 (right?) ?!?!? Imagine being 6 and having your name up there in front of everyone in the class stuck under the rain cloud!
But for DH ... not a bad idea...

Marthasmama · 07/07/2009 22:34

Star - M has been crying if I am out of sight for about 4 months now! She has learned to calm herself down now but still cries at first. It is a good sign that they cry, at this age they don't understand that you've just popped out of the room. They get scared you're never coming back. They do learn that you will come back and stop getting so upset.

Marthasmama · 07/07/2009 22:36

Star - They had them in year R too! I think you have to be pretty bad to get put on the rain cloud. In year R there was a sun, a white cloud and a rain cloud. DS once went on the white cloud when he friend jumped on his back when they were meant to be tidying. The teacher just saw the two of them sprawled on the floor and they both got told off. DS was horrified!

star6 · 07/07/2009 22:40

Some people like a white fluffy cloud day
Poor DS. I HATE things like that - humiliation is NOT the way to get kids to behave! Ok... I will stop here before I get myself into an argument over behaviour management not that this would happen on this thread... but in case anyone else is lurking . I'll go to bed now .... I think... if I can tear myself away!

star6 · 07/07/2009 22:43

Imagine the poor kid that goes to the grey rain cloud quite regularly....how that must eat away at their self esteem and how humiliating And the fear of stepping out of line and having your name moved to less favourable weather sign, like a stormy rain cloud I'd be so nervous I don't think I'd get my work done! Ok, sorry, couldn't resist!!!

Marthasmama · 07/07/2009 22:44

I was going to respond but I won't poke the bear.... Night Star!

CantSleepWontSleep · 07/07/2009 22:52

Star - there is nothing of you - how on earth can your dh be complaining about your weight? Or was he not actually complaining, but just observing?
In fact, at the risk of making you blush, I don't think I'd seen many photos of you before, and was quite shocked at how pretty you are. Well, pretty isn't really the right word, as it sounds too girly, but 'attractive' makes me sound like a lesbian, so you can pick your own word along those lines .

Finished the first series of House now, so off to bed in a tick.

CSWS - You can see that a person is attractive without actually being attracted to them. For example I think that Orlando Bloom is very very attractive but he seems too devoid of personality for me to fancy him.

Ahem star - real names!
We had a much better night - just one feed around 4, so no, Q didn't steal it all!

Forgot to mention that on Monday night dh watched ds climb up two stairs, very quickly apparently!

OP posts:
star6 · 08/07/2009 09:17

AH! I'll try to get that removed immediately.

Marthasmama · 08/07/2009 09:19

CSWS - We thought M was going to try and climb the stairs but she just sat next to the bottom one and just bashed it. M likes bashing things!

star6 · 08/07/2009 09:20

I've reported the post. I'm so stupid sometimes. wasn't thinking

CantSleepWontSleep · 08/07/2009 09:23

It's ok star - easily done.
You might want to copy the post and repost it without the name as if MN delete it then no-one will be able to read the rest of what you put!

thanks Sorry again....

Thank you csws. I certainly don't feel and have never felt attractive, so that was nice to hear blush ... especially with dark circles from no sleep under my eyes.

You and myjob were both also very attractive - must be how you have such beautiful babies! grin

I stepped on a scale yesterday afternoon (we don't own one here) and I am in fact 7lbs more than I was in the beginning of June. DH has a big thing about weight. It's ridiculous actually. He will always say "no, you look fine"...etc, but I can see the way he looks at me when I've got a little extra that it's not appealing to him. It's ok. I have a healthy diet... just been having too many "treats" lately probably blush

I love House. Dh doesn't.

Q is becoming more and more confident standing and going through his toy box drawers...etc. I want him to slowwwwww down and stay my little baby!
I've put all of the toys with little pieces on the top one grin so I can decide how many of those come out at once. I wonder when he'll learn to play with one toy at a time hmm well, my 6 year olds in school can't do that.... oh well.

We've been showing friends and family the video and everyone is laughing so hard at Q because I've been telling them how since I've been off work I've been taking him to gymboree, playgroups, farms, parks...etc to get him used to other babies and up until we met D and N, he used to just sit there, surprised and letting the other kids take toys off him/throw things at him, swipe at his face...etc. I was so worried he'd be a "pushover" ha! I showed that video and now they think I'm lying! grin

Q had another pretty good night... still woke 3 times, but fed and right back to sleep. I hope sleep was good in myjob and csws house, too, else I'm going to really believe that Q took your good sleep! If he did.... I'm so sorry But I'm not giving it back grin ha!

bethoo · 08/07/2009 11:17

star glad you got little one off to sleep eentually. maia was like that last night, refused her bottle so was not hungry and seemed ok when picked up as nowadays she prefers to roll all over the floor rather than sit in her chair! yesterday she was openign and closing the living room door!
anyhoo she went to bed at about 8 as had enough of the constant screaming for no reason (maybe teething!) and she did go down. i was so tired this morning when she woke at 4 i just fell back asleep and she managed to settle down again. i guess i can be quite heartless with my determination to get them into a sleeping pattern!

Marthasmama · 08/07/2009 12:37

Star, those new pictures of Q on FB are lovely! He's such a cutie!
