dizzydixies · 25/06/2009 23:58

interesting post there - sorry all!

TwilightSurfer · 26/06/2009 03:03

I couldn't post from Tai Ji but we started late due to all the chatter about Michael Jackson's death. At 7:15 his official website hadn't posted anything but by 8:15 they'd taken down all the tour dates.

TwilightSurfer · 26/06/2009 03:08

From all I can tell Jeff Goldblum isn't dead. I like him I hope that tale is a hoax. My uncle had a small part in a movie Jeff was in..."The Big Chill". My uncle is the running shoe delivery dude. I'm very proud. It helps me win that degrees of seperation game ALL the time. Unfortunately my uncle passed a few years back but he will go on forever in that incredible movie.

TwilightSurfer · 26/06/2009 03:10

Reese was sleeping soundly when I got home this evening. She is such a little angel. DD1 was still up (9:45PM). I showed her my tai ji forms then read her one book. That satisfied her. She's hopefully about to start snoring.

TwilightSurfer · 26/06/2009 03:13

When is it that I can offer MILK to Reese? She's had yogurt. (Sazzles it was that yogurt Emma had while you were here.) If I can offer that can I offer MILK?

When should I delete the bottle? Is that something that should happen at the 1 year mark? I think it is but suddenly my mind is lost in a thick haze. {AND NO it's NOT that kind of haze.}

Would it be okay to offer asapargus?

Have any of your little one's eaten beets?

Okay that's enough! I'm suppose to be balancing the checkbook.

Expectant · 26/06/2009 03:22

about all these sleb deaths particularly MJ as despite all the bad press and allegations his music is still very much a part of my youth.

Sazzles I re-read my post and can see how you might have thought I was talking about DH . Unfortunately (for him) he has a bad case of swine man flu

Expectant · 26/06/2009 03:42

TS hi there! As Reese has been having yoghurt she obviously has no dairy allergy so can give her milk now the guidance just recommends that it doesn't become their main source of milk (which should be formula or BM) until after the age of 1.

Also most paediatricians advise trying to stop the bottle at 1 too but I think most leave it a lot later but I'm sure someone much wiser than me will be along later today to advise as I'm just a lowly first timer .

Think beets and asparagus should be ok. Although asparagus tends to make pee smell funny and when I was about 5 I ate a whole jar of pickled beetroot and I remember my poo was a lovely shade of purple (TMI probably)!

Good luck with the balancing. Remind me to tell you all about DH's e-mail missives on our joint credit card sometime. Must get back to work. In a sad worky related way just wondering who's going to be administering MJ's estate - that would be interesting in a morbid kind of way.

TwilightSurfer · 26/06/2009 03:59

Hi Expectant

Don't work too hard.

I bet a whole lot of MJ's estate is tied up in legal crap from over a year ago.

Thanks for the food/drink input. I think next week I'm going to get adventurous with Reese's food. Broccoli is at the top of the list. I do believe I'll be pulling out Annabel Karmel. Might just go stick it in my luggage now so I can look it over while traveling. I've got peas & carrots and fruit cups for Reese for the trip. I've found buying the "made for baby" veggie/fruit things are over priced. The smaller cans of regular work perfect!

Checkbook is leaning slightly in the red but that's okay as payday is in 1 hour. Don't know I how I managed to goof the house account this time round. I'm far from perfect.

For the record, Reese is doing very very well with the new pattern I helped her get in. Her feeds during the day are bigger and she's showing awesome signs for wanting more and more real foods. I might think about moving her into dd1's room sooner than I'd first thought.

Miamla · 26/06/2009 07:40

morning all

i've had such a productive morning..

unloaded dishwasher
loaded it up again
cleaned kitchen surfaces
hung out washing
DS breakfasted
DP breakfasted and tea-ed
DP's brow stroked and small amount of sympathy handed out (he's got a hangover!)
Cheese and broccoli muffins in the oven

Can you tell i only had 3 wake ups last night? I've actually had a couple of 2hr stints of sleep!

sambo303 · 26/06/2009 07:41

ts Felix has had asparagus and beetroot and loved them. He loves all veggies. Expectant is right on the advice re milk . There is some advice here

sad news re MJ, I loved his music

London Meet Up: miamla can you do 23/24 July? What about other London ladies?

we are going here today, hope to pick up some interesting knick knacks for our home/garden.

Miamla · 26/06/2009 07:42

DS has discovered the joy of licking the lid from the yoghurt pot. he's also discovered that yoghurt lids stick to the wall

sambo303 · 26/06/2009 07:44

morning miamla wow. Hope you are being breakfasted and tea-ed now!

Miamla · 26/06/2009 07:48

yup, my turn now!

how was your night?

sambo303 · 26/06/2009 08:12

another good one touch wood

I've reintroduced the dream feed so fed ds at 11.15pm and he woke at 6am. It's so weird waking up when it's light again, I cant get used to it. In the last 7 days, ds has slept between 11pm ish and 6am on 5 of those nights. Looks like we are finally going in the right direction.

Miamla · 26/06/2009 08:16

yay! Well done F!!!

I've bizarrely discovered if i don't dream feed DS, he sleeps for a bit longer!

Miamla · 26/06/2009 08:22

gah! i've got a stupid hospital appt on the 23rd

albs how do you feel about meeting on the 24th? we'd all give H a birthday party he'll never forget but understand if you'd rather it was just you and family

So, 24th preferable but if albs not happy then we could do 23rd. Appointment's in the morning so i could come and meet you for a late lunch somewhere

oopsacoconut · 26/06/2009 08:26

Morning everyone

We are at my folks surrounded by cousins and family - DD is in heaven as she thinks we have put on small people just for her she is squashing loving them as I type.

TS DD has has asparagus and beetroot - she likes the beets roasted in wedges but mustt be naked for the eating. Asparagus was one of her first finger foods as she could hold it and the tops are soft enough to suck off.

will catchup later in a more peaceful setting.

I would like to do London so let me in on dates please.

Have good a Friday everyone

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 26/06/2009 08:43

Morning all. Wow mimal you have been a busy bee this am and it is only 8.30. Domestic goddess crown well deserved I think
I have done nothing. me and dcs sat eating breakfast. So very tired, I tried not to feed ds when he woke at 12 and just cuddle,he cried and cried so I gave in and gave him a bf. He got frustrated as I dont have an amzing supply now This went on till 2am so went down to make a bottle. He downed 6oz so...... not sure I am going to do that again. I wish I had just gave it him in the first place and got some sleep
He ate an enormous amount of food yesterday, I just find it hard to believe he is really hungry in the night.
To top it off dh unexpectedly arrived home early at 6am this morning and woke dd up, then her gobbiness cheerfulness woke ds
dizzy hope you had a good night.
oops I bet dd is just loving all the attention
ts Your routine with dd2 sounds just perfect.well done you. You have proved the theory that more food intake in the day does work.
sambo have alovely day, hope you find some nice things for the garden
expextant Hi expectant.

Stupidly tired this am, thank the Lord for make up that hides even the blackest of dark eye circles.

Am just going to borrow miamlas domestic goddess crown for a bit if no one minds - I need some inspiration to get on with housework now that O has gone to sleep.

What can I eat/drink that will pep me up a bit (drawing a line at redbull )

Miamla · 26/06/2009 09:41

actually no1, i'd done all that by 7.30 not 8.30

cc crown's all yours!

since my superb domesticicy this morning, all i've managed since is to scoff most of the muffins and to have a shower. Hmm, i think i should have just one more muffin, just to make sure they're ok

sazz you really are a meetup whore

oops course we will
